Screen Protector Reusable???

I had a Tilt and a screen protector that was just a plastic. It's reusable because I would just tuck the plastics into the edge of the screen.
Now, I got a Brando Screen Protector at home, which states reusable.
How are these washable/reusable screen protectors work with our phones? Is it pretty secure to wash and put it back on? I did it a lot with my tilt but I have no idea about the screen protectors regarding the Fuze.
currently I have a crappy one I bought from BestBuy and it is all scratched up, so thinking about switching to my Brando one.

With most screen protectors you can wash them in light soapy water (maybe dip it in a cup with light soapy water). Shake the screen protector to shake off excess water, then use a blow drywer to dry off the rest of the water. You might have to do this a few times. You might catch some more dirt. (!)
Sometimes this works...sometimes it doesn't and you're just screwed and ending up having to buy another.
I've been using Martin Fields and haven't have a problem with washing them. You just need to be in an area that is dust free and clean.

How does it stay on your screen then if you wash it in water?
Doesn't the sticky part of the SP stop sticking?

No, actually it works really well just rinsing it under warm water (I didn't use any soap). I'd say 100% that it's definitely re-usable.
I was wiping fingerprints off mine on a wool blanket and a corner came up, half the screen protector came off, and the underside rubbed against the blanket, picking up a ton of dirt and fibers.
I took it off and rinsed it off pretty forcefully, and even used my fingernail to scrape the dirt and fibers off. When I was done it felt like the adhesive was mostly gone while damp but as it dried it was sticky again. I flicked off most of the water and put it on the freshly windexed phone (spray the towel once, not the phone!). There were still some tiny water droplets on the protector when I put it on but I gently squeezed them to the edge as I put it back on and they all squeezed out.
The protector still has a slightly mottled appearance which I figured was from scraping all the adhesive off in some areas but it turns out it's tiny amounts of moisture under the protector. Over the next 24 hours the mottled appearance dried and faded and the protector was like new again, 100% crystal clear. It even still great adhesive abilities even though I was literally scrapping at it under the warm water.
At the mall I notice the people that do the invisi-shield covers do it the basically the same way but use a hair drier to get rid of the mottled appearance quicker.
Bottom line. I scrubbed the protector pretty good because I thought it was a lost cause and afterward is was as good as new (better since it's on straight now with no edges to catch), so don't be too afraid to wash an re-use it if the underside gets dirty. Plus I make it sound like there is a risk of getting your phone wet but only if you drop it in the sink. The amount of water on the protector after flicking it few times is no more than if you get a few snowflakes on it and wipe them off with your hand.

[Q] Screen protector to cover the WHOLE surface?

Hey guys, so I just got my membrane screen protectors for the nexus 4, installation was pretty quick and bubble-less. I noticed tho, not all of the surface is covered.. just the screen. The edges and the other parts of the frontal glass are not covered and therefore scratch-exposed. I googled a bit and found out there probably is no screenprotector which allows FULL cover of the surface.
Can you guys confirm? I think these Membrane protectors I got are just bad.. crazy cheap price for 6 protectors. They are crystal clear tho.

It has a slight curve at the edges which doesn't allow for complete adhesion, and at the top for the camera and prox sensors need to be open...so someone decided.

Thanks man. So which protector covers more?

I always have taken my phones to Ghost Armor, they cover everything for $40. They'll replace all of it for $10. It's almost rubber feeling but it's crystal clear.

$40? That's a lot for a screen protector. I'll just stick to Membrane protectors
To anyone having tried both Membrane screen protectors and Mediadevil protectors, which one is the best? My membrane protectors get veeeery dirty with fingerprints and crap, and cleaning up is not that easy. Crystal clear tho.

The screen protectors have to expose a few essential parts like the the front camera and proximity sensors etc. I don't see what the problem is as just about all of them cover a large percentage, unless you want to paint the phone in wood gloss.
You can use Skinomi wet screen protector and it seems to have a larger surface area and curves around the side edges of the phone. But that expose the screen protector to cases, when you put a case on, the case edges will dig into the screen protectors and lift it up. Skinomi is pretty good with resisting fingerprints and smudges for me.
I'm currently using the "iloome tempered glass" and the only thing it exposes are the front sensors.

Ordered a couple Mediadevil today from Amazon, in a week or so I'll get them. Don't mind if it doesn't cover the entire surface (btw I knew FFC and proximity sensors don't have to be covered).

My experience on water

So
I usually wash my phone once in a while but this time I don't know what happened after washing my phone lost reception and I know something was wrong and I also noticed some water has seeped into the phone top right corner and I made sure the flaps were closed. I switched off the phone and kept the phone to dry and after about 6 hours switched on and I noticed it has become better but battery started heating too much I thought its the end of my phone, but later it was fine
But the water mark still persist on the display but it's fine as long as the phone works perfect .

What portion of the screen is watermarked?
I have two Z2's and on both of them the rear glass has began to separate slightly from the frame adjacent to the USB socket. It's the same place on both of them and can be felt by running a fingernail across the glass to the frame edge; the raised part of the frame can be felt more around the rest of the glass than it can near to the USB socket.
Once a week I carefully heat the rear glass slightly then clamp the phone between a wood/foam sandwich for an hour, it helps keep the glass more firmly attached. It's crazy that I have to do that on a high-end phone, it's definitely a design flaw.
I also wash them with warm water and have had no problems so far.

It's definitely cured although the mark is slightly visible
Am not dipping/washing this phone again

So that's the opposite side to the USB socket.
Maybe a leak from the sd card cover or the camera lens.
A good cleaning medium is glass cleaner spray, a little on a rag works well for removing all fingerprints and marks, then a buff with a microfiber cloth will bring it up like new.

I spilled a non conductive heptane based chemical on my phone by accident, sadly if something leaks even for a little they will ruin the screen mostly, i have a ugly "watermark" too on the right side too, glad im going to buy the XZ the next month.

Yeah it could be
If the leak occured through the camera lens, isn't the camera lens supposed to look hazy/moisture ?

How do you heat the rear glass? I have the same problem, but when using the phone with a case on it the glass doesn't come off.

I use a heatgun on a low setting.
The glass hasn't separated yet, it's more like the beginning of separation, so I'm trying to keep it in check.

Regarding the lens, if you managed to totally dry your phone I think the lens would look normal and clear.
Also I've looked at some internal pics of the Z2 and the area where the rear glass is starting to separate corresponds with the two NFC spring contacts on the motherboard.

I've bought my Z2 in 06/14 and I wash it with soap and warm water once a week since then.
Had no problems at all. :good::fingers-crossed:
SONY is the best. I don't think I'll ever buy a NON-waterproof phone.

Tempered Glass Screen Protectors (Fix the halo effect)

Tempered glass screen protectors have a rampant problem of not sticking to the rounded edges of the glass screens on modern cellular devices (especially the Mix). I solved this problem:
Take a small amount of petroleum jelly and rub it around the edges of the film. Hit it with the hot setting on a hair dryer (you should see liquified petroleum jelly start to seep into the edges of the screen protector), and you get perfect adhesion, regardless of rounded edges.
I know it sounds like there could be quite a lot of potential to damage your device performing this. However, I did this with the utmost care (My "OCD" kicked in and I worked on this solution for at least an hour), and after a good deal of cleaning with isopropyl alcohol (obviously, try to get the highest concentration you can; I have access to lab grade stuff, but 90% from like CVS should be fine) my Mix functions perfectly, and I no longer have the annoying light colored ring around my screen protector (Note that I did a clean install of said protector before doing this; I'd imagine if you've been using one, dust accumulation under the edges would cause this not to work as well).

Can you post a pic? I had a tempered glass screen protector on it. I ordered it from Amazon and after installing it I got the ring, I left it on over night thinking it wouldn't bother me but in the morning I just took it off and chucked it in the trash, couldn't live with that on such a beautiful screen..

I have some circular yellowing in the top corners as well as some scattered parshley dead pixels on the very edge of the top corners. Kind of disappointed after fronting $800 for what i thought would be a premium phone.

Green/purple bleed on edges

Hi everyone, I made the mistake and wiped the screen of my mi9t with alcohol. The screen works fine as before but now the curved edges of it are a little jagged and a bit green, one is a bit pink/purple. The olephobic layer is still one the screen, I checked.
The bleed is small.
What should I do? I'm scared that something will go wrong... Those colors weren't there before, and they are visible only when their part of the screen is white. Should I maybe put it in rice to soak the alcohol (if that's it)? Or is it harmless? Please help. Thanks in advance!

That could be light refraction from grease or alcohol residue. Try to gently clean it off with a microfiber cloth.
