I have the Razr M, running stock 4.4.2 and have been having problems after an attempted flash.
So I managed to root the phone and then installed CWM Recovery 6.0.4.9. After this far in I presume I was rushing because I must have downloaded the wrong version of Cyanogenmod or something along those lines because after the flash my phone was almost bricked due to a low battery and no nandroid. I continued to mess around with it for a few more days until I managed to get back to stock 4.4.2.
Right away when I was back on stock I realized my phone had no audio capabilities at all, even when using an aux cord. Almost, for example, like the drivers on a pc were missing. Just nothing. Not long after I also noticed that any video function didn't work. Any sort of video in Snapchat/Youtube/Twitter/Facebook/ect won't work. Along with the video not playing, I cannot record videos either.
I have already re flashed the stock 4.4.2 zip (downloaded from Motorola's website) many times all ending in failed attempts to solve the audio/video troubles.
So there is my problem. Anyone have any ideas?
Anyone have any solution? Any idea at all? I have rooted a Droid Incredible before and rooted/flashed cyanogenmod onto another Razr Max also so I have a good idea of what is going on.

Hi
My device baseband is I9505XXUEMK9, Android version 4.3.1, and on a custom ROM (Slimbean).
The issue began when I attempted to flash a 4.4.2 (official) stock ROM from another country, which I now acknowledge as a MAJOR mistake. It was unsuccessful and led to my phone being soft-bricked. However, I had backed up my device prior to flashing 4.4.2 so that ensured its functionality.
After restoring my phone using the backup, the phone completely lost sound output. Whenever I tried to play music, the message "Unfortunately, DSP Manager has stopped" pops up. Video and audio cannot be played at all so apps like YouTube, alarm clocks, PVStar, and video-sharing websites would either crash or provide no video/audio output.
I can make calls but they result in a laggy black screen and there is no sound. I can only receive messages that calls have been missed.
I have tried flashing official stock ROM (I9505XXUEMK9) various times but they all resulted in failure. I have also flashed the modem for my device (XXUEMK9). I have tried out different custom ROM's but the problem persists.
Is this situation salvageable? I am willing to school myself on bootloaders and the such to solve this issue.
Help is much appreciated.

I would do a full wipe from Philz Touch CWM. Clean to install new ROM, and after that recover Your backup.
If it wont work, dirty reflash your Slimbean.
If it wont work, backup Your sdcard, install stock recovery or prerooted stock rom and wipe Your phone from there. If Odin wont work, try Mobile Odin.
Thank you for the response.
I have tried the first and second methods, yet the issues remain.
I am going to try the third one though it would be using a prerooted stock ROM of another variant as there are no XXUEMK9 prerooted stock ROM's.
EDIT: Third method didn't work for me either. It yields the same result as flashing the official stock ROM's.
After installing CyanogenMod 11 my phone worked great. Had better battery life. Performed faster. But then I wanted lollipop so I installed the Google play ROM since the bell s4 ROM wasn't out yet then finally went to liquidsmooth where I started encountering video playback problems on online content but all other sound worked fine. I tried going back to the stock ram then the USB cord broke halfway through and put my phone into a weird recovery mode that said use kies. Finally I put it into download mode and flashed it with another USB. I never tested audio but the WiFi wouldn't turn on so I tried flashing modem files only for it not to work. Finally I went back to CyanogenMod 11 but the dialer crashes when I try to call. The music crashes when I try to play it. YouTube videos won't load nor will Facebook. My phone is a mess.
(BTW my phone had a little android dude on the ground with his stomach open and a little red triangle with an exclamation mark in it when booted into recovery. Idk if that means anything)
Please help, how do I fix my phone?
Do you ever wipe before flashing?
To preface the current issue with my phone, I guess I should probably give some history of what I've done to it. I got my S4 around November last year, where I kept TouchWiz for about a good 3 months. At the end of those 3 months, I downloaded and installed CM KitKat using their easy installer and it worked! However, when Lollipop came around, I got a little impatient and decided to get CM12 using Antares version. Initially, I noticed there were a few bugs/glitches, but ignored them for the time being. As time went on, it became increasingly aggravating and so a few dayus ago I tried to switch back to stock TouchWiz. When I was setting up the phone, I noticed that the wi-fi would just not turn it. It would stay at "turning on" for a very long time with no sucess. Thus, I decided to switch back to Antares version of CM, but now there were a few issues: service was VERY spotty and the piece de resistance: no sound at ALL, and youtube would never play videos. I searched around and saw that using the Sound Recorder would give me an error: "Internal Application Error. Microphone may be in use." Now I'm not the most techy person around and probably should not have been messing around with my phone, but now all I want is a properly working phone, doesn't matter if its kitkat or lollipop. Your help is greatly appreciated. (If you need to know more info, go ahead and ask, because I'm very new to all this) Thanks!
If you want the stock ROM back, flash it twice using Odin. General consensus here is that you need to flash the modem twice in order for WiFi and cellular radios to work properly. Flashing the ROM twice will do that without having to track down just the modem file and trying to flash that.

Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working :/ When setting up my S4, it's still stuck at turning on the wifi
I switched back to Antares CM, and everything works fine except for sound/microphone (to my knowledge). Would there be any way to fix this?
Hello all,
So I've read the threads about the issues with no wifi/sound when people have rooted. I've spent the last 2 days flashing and re-flashing attempting to get these to fix themselves.
I have reflashed, what I believe, is the stock version of 4.2.2 to my sg4 sgh-i337m. After reflashing I noticed I never had wifi. So I reflashed a few times, as others had suggested, but still nothing. I then tried the cm 11 through the windows installer, then I was without sound or wifi. Now when I flash back to stock (maybe I'm not using the original rom?) I don't have sound, or wifi. I tied both CM12.1 optimized and Pacman, and for some reason they get wifi, but still no sound.
Could this be a modem issue?? It's making me crazy. I've reflashed and reflashed my phone with 2 seperate stock roms thinking perhaps I was using the wrong one, but nope. Tried the wipe caches before/after and still nothing.
I have the sg4 sgh-i337m, bought it in Nov 2013. Does anyone know what kernal/broadband we originally use? I lost mine before I had a chance to write it down (kicking myself in the face ever since).
If anyone knows how to fix this - I've tried all the usual fixes (sound about, pulled battery numerous times, multiple reflashes).
Thanks.
http://www.sammobile.com/ has all of our firmware for our phone just make an account and search firmware for your model number and flash threw odin.
i havent heard anything about sound issues i have heard about some wifi. i have the same phone as u and have flashed alost all the roms for it with out issue. maybe its a hardware failure i sure hope not for your case but it might be another problem to look for.
Good evening, just a quick ( I hope) question
Recently came from stock rooted 5.1.1 to a 6 rom.
Ever since then my phone lags then shuts down, sometimes reboots sometimes not. I put this down to the rom. However it does it on every single one I have tried. It is also doing it on stock firmware flashed via odin and rooted via cf auto root, any ideas? Hardware issue? faulty bl? Currently on the unofficial cm12 (5.1.1) but still having the same issue though not as badly. Any help would be appreciated.
Also, youtube is how shall I say, funky. Some videos play fine, others say network error. This is on both wifi and 4g. Again, only recently is it doing this which makes me think software rather than hardware issues
