It is not rar, just zip. Read this 2 threads :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2696537

One is for rooting via custom recovery, one is for rooting via Odin.

zip can be easly flashed by TWRP.
Here is your answer:
Flash by
Odin:
openrecovery-twrp-2.8.4.0-klte.tar
CF-Auto-Root-klte-kltedv-smg900i.tar.md5
Twrp:

None of the files i add to odin show up but i have solved it...
Thanks for your reply but i managed to get everything going differently... Rooted the phone using the original CF Autoroot method for 4.4. and installed recovery by dowloading the playstore app and installing it via that.
Question - Is it possible to get Philz recovery working? and how about Xposed on Lolipop?

Hi
I'm trying to install back stock kernel and recovery to get update thorough the phone for new MG1 update, and i'm can't find stock recovery.
You can use CF-root to install stock recovery and stock kernel. Or you can download a stock firmware file from Sammobile and grab the recovery.img from the .tar.
But this is a Q thread so please ask these kind of questions at 'Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting' next time!

You must first flash the cm11 kernel that contains CWM6 either through cwm5 (if you are on stock kernel and have stock recovery flash a temporary CWM zip) or use the odin version and flash via odin (put it in pda section) - links on rom thread
Once that has been done reboot to recovery and make sure you have cwm6
Then format system data and cache
Mount system data cache
Flash rom zip

That kernel is an unofficial kernel not from the dev of cm11 for this phone so no support from
him can be given if you use that one but you can if you want
The official kernel with cmw6 is located here - the zip is for flashing via CWM and the tar is for odin - the choice is yours
https://www.mediafire.com/folder/bj3a19sdm5yre/totoro
The rom is located
http://download.androidarmv6.org/_builds/totoro/
And the rom thread with instructions is located
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2766229
If done wrong you can soft brick your phone but can be sorted with a simple flashing of stock rom via odin - link to my firmware thread is in my signature
I install CM11 over H9 directly by first flashing ClockworkMod v6.0.5.3 & then latest full OTA build for totoro (androidarmv6.org)
CM11 have its own kernel.
thank you very very much marcus smith... i installed it yesaterday,,, everything is fine. flashing went successful.

Have you rooted it and installed SafeStrap yet? But yes, once you get all of that good stuff done, you can flash this ROM and be good to go since your phone already has the NI2 firmware. If you haven't rooted it yet, you'll have to flash the NCG firmware only, root it, then flash the NI2 firmware back to it.

So, I've instlled NCG and rooted with Towelroot. Do I need to install safestrap?
Also, the odex download is in .zip format, but odin expects a .tar. should I repackage the zip into a tar or what should I do? I am confused.

Yes you will need to install SafeStrap. The custom ROM's are flashed with SafeStrap. It flashes them with the .zip extension, so no you won't repackage anything. Odin flashes files with a .tar extension. You will need to make sure you flash the NI2 firmware back with Odin also.
thank you
Options
Is there any way that I can overwrite the main partition and install this on there or do I HAVE to use safestrap and make a new partition? I really want to keep my system as clean as possible.
Are these files still available?
When I click to get them the page just hangs...
Ok, I might get flamed here for this silly question but...
If you have a Verizon phone (like a broken contract one)...not stolen or anything (so it wouldn't be blacklisted)...
Is it possible to flash it with a stock rom (or modded one) for another carrier, like MetroPCS? The reason I am asking is if someone had a Verizon contract, broke it, and has MetroPCS, is it possible to refresh it solely to get rid of the Verizon extra junk? Right now, the phone is rooted and most of the Verizon stuff is off it and it works fine with data, mms, and phone. The only problem is the bloatware and that the APN's periodically have to be re-entered...kind of a pain.
So IF you flash it with a stock MetroPCS rom, will it even work or are there some hardware restrictions?

bootloop
Hi all,
Unfortunately I ended in a bootloop. I was on 4.4.2 stock with root and knox 0x0. Followed the steps using Mobile Odin PRO (everroot unchecked, rom loaded without BL/CP) and the Aroma installer started. I checked "Rom Base" and "Wipe data" options...installation finished 100% and rebooted. Then the bootloop, I tried removing battery and power on again, same. I then wanted to go in recovery to wipe data again but it loops also when the text "Recovery Booting" is displayed. It can go only in Download Mode. I hope there is a method to not delete everything on internal SD because I've many whatsapp pics on it.
Before flashing with Mobile ODIN, I had the software update icon to install lollipop but I always postponed, could it have affected?
At this point could you please suggest what can I do?
UPDATE: Got it working again after installing BL and CP with Odin PC.
Tnx man
For a great rom
Hi,
sorry, not sure about this, so I'll ask before I brick my device:
I upgraded my rooted stock Android 4.4.2 with towelroot, Knox 0x0, now on 5.0 BNL2 since last week thanks to this ROM also with root and 0x0 with Odin Mobile Pro.
Now there are some fixes in 5.0.1 (my smartphone is working like a charm on BNL2 anyway), but if I got this right, Mobile Odin Pro does not yet work on 5.0...!? So, can I just flash BNL7 over BNL2 from PC without any issues? Do I have to wipe again? Will I have to update Modem/CSC/anything else again?

BNL7 is not 5.0.1, is just a newer 5.0 firmware, and in order to keep Knox 0x0, you need to downgrade to 4.4.2 kitkat (wipe needed) and then with Mobile Odin flash the newest version of this awesome DevBase...

When we are in the verion 5.0 and want reflasear a later version with root and Knox = 0:
I am struck not downgrade directly to 4.4.2 before June in which to put the root directly without changing the kernel. Do these versions are not available? Or there is any impediment that I don't know.

DO NOT install the ROM using Mobile Odin Pro 4.20 - it doesn't work after updating to Lollipop anymore! More info HERE. At this moment, to keep KNOX 0x0, you have to downgrade to 4.4.2 first (wipe data needed), then root the phone (HERE), and then install BNL9 DevBase (wipe data needed again) using Mobile Odin Pro 4.20

No NJ1 or better NK7 then downgrade the kernel to NE2 and root, superSU, install MOP and flash BLN9 devbase. Already said at another place, on a french forum
