Mockup/Need testers - Desire 816 General

I need testers for Desire 816 using Sense based ROM..your cooperation will be important as we will try to bring your phone experience to a new level..for those who are interested and who knows around Android you can add me up in Hangouts [email protected] and we can do tests till we get a stable one..
currently I do not own the device..but so far what has been achieved was
- Voltage control
I plan to bring more stuff but without a device to test on i have to resort to measures such as having testers to test for me..

By any chance, will any gesture features from the m8 (double tap to wake, etc.) be included in this kernel?

What is the status on this project? There have been no updates in a long time.

Kernel still is WIP
But as you see in screenshot really good things is on the way
Battery with a daily Usage

It looks dope. Can't wait to get my hands on it in its official release.

Eh, I wouldn't worry about battery life for the kernel. Mine already gets a drain of 0.5% per hour idle with a little bit of use. I've had mine last for 7 days and still have 30 percent left. This one is at 38 hours at 1% left with minimal use. If you want great battery life, just use stock kernel or graraks. Since we already have optimal battery life, could you work on adding tweaks/new features into the kernel instead?
Also, will you be including the full source of this kernel in your original post?

On stock rom i have the same drain ca 0.5%/h , but on carbon I have ca 1,1 %/h

This Kernel which Kairi works on that had many good features
Hotplug is supported , And I got even 2 day (49hours) with using as daily usage (Music, Calls, Chat , Web ,...)

Is it too late to sign up (hangouts) for the test?
@mygamer I just sent you a hangouts invite. Yes, the guy named "Brandon"

I´ve tried AOPK, OMNIrom and CM10.1.3 and CM11 and for me the best battery performance I got was from CM 11, battery life is great.
I found AOSB n sensonic having best battery life.. Bt battery life depends on ur usage. 3g, wifi, music, videos n calls. I do a lot chatting on whatsapp n 3g all day on. Used 2 get more than a day battery life. Nw shifted 2 a tw rom for a change..
Regards.

the ROM with the best battery life that i have tried is DITTO3 v4.1 (android 4.4.2). All Samsung's utilities (s.pen, multiwindows, camera etc etc..) with a more that one day of use (3G and 5/6 hours of screen).
I myself found TouchWiz ROM having better battery life. I do a lot of tweaking on aosp, probam, paranoid, but still found battery life is not so good. I tried custom kernel with undervolt. It doesn't really improve too much battery life. My sot target is 6 to 8 hours.

Which rom are you using? I only get 2-3 hours of screen on time :S
phantom v7.0
I tried a lot many roms.......comparing all...I found carbon had amazing battery life and less bugs compared to other cm11 base aosp roms (excluding cm11).......on tw best was phantom v7....I managed to get 7hrs sot with total time of 1+ days with 3% remaining....full stock.....no tweaks by me (first cycle)....with 5-6 mathches on fifa 14......a lot of facebook and loads of whatsapp....and that too all on mobile data...no wifi
See the screenshots for phantom v7

Android 6.0 Marshmallow battery discussion

This thread is for battery life discussion of android 6 Marshmallow.
I took the plunge recently and installed cm13 nightly on my phone after a couple of days with sultan's cm13 ROM. One notice that the android team really got the battery optimisations right this time especially when coming from android 5.1. The cell standby and android system bug is now gone and the phone can now be in standby for a long time. My usage pattern is browsing, reading in Adobe reader, listening to mucisc with bluetooth headphones, facebook, wassup, some youtube videos, sms and few calls. I play farm heros sometimes but I don't play graphical intensive games.
Here are 2 screenshots of my phone. It was charged to 100% at 8:00am on 30/11/2015 and it still has 41% left as at 10:00am 02/12/2015 Granted I have only used it on wifi and I configured wifi to automatically disable 5 minutes after the screen is off.
You can post you battery life too.

If a moderator deem it fit, he/she can close the thread but I felt it will be nice to make a dedicated thread for Marshmallow instead of looking through a big thread to get the relevant information needed for a particular android version.

yes.
It still sucks on mobile data. Nothing changed from Lollipop in regards of mobile data battery drain and i wish google could do something about it.
That's it! It's still on LP niveau
i had around 2 hours of screen on time and less than a day's battery life. The MMS also didn't work with WiFi connected, so I switched back to CM12.
I finally charged the phone today but not before I took a screenshot. My usage is not heavy at all so for heavy users, I guess the SOT will be longer but the total number of hours the phone was on will be lower. My usage did not change form that of 5.1 but I can definitely see a great change in standby time.
Still doesn't beat out KitKat in terms of heavy usage IMO.
The performance(yield) of the battery essuperior to android 5.1. The cycle of load lasts approximately two hours more of screen.

Try Omniron Herna build, it does wonders on my phone regarding battery usage
Sent from my A0001 using Tapatalk
6.0 has the same battery life as 5.x for me. about 4-5h SoT.
KitKat and early 5.0 builds were clearly better with 8h SoT
Currently running Sultan's ROM CM13:
My battery life has hugely improved when I'm not touching the phone, no one app is draining way to much battery while not in the foreground.
There is one problem some people including me have been experiencing which is that Wi-Fi doesn't switch of properly and drains the battery, the only solution I found was to reboot the device after switching it off.
Not sure if this is a CM problem or the specific rom but not AOSP.
But apart from that battery life is good.
On sultan CM 13 CAF
Getting 4-5 hrs of SOT
Still waiting on a fix for mobile radio active. Had to go back to KitKat after a year on 5.x and a week or so on cm13. The difference in battery is staggering. Here's hoping Google actually finds a solution for the drain, otherwise I'm gonna have to stick to KitKat until I get a new phone.
I dont worry much abt battery charge ..currently on CM13.. dont see much of difference ... expect charge to last for 1 day.. connect to charging when home
Tech guys suggest me best battery rom for OPO don't fun with me by saying cm11s 44s. Almost 1 year stick to cm11 I need some latest android version in my device,
I'm new to xda
Thanks in advance!
Just stole myself this glorious phone yesterday (not really.. got a smokin deal) after 3 years and a month on a Nexus 4 that was left stock the entire time. My OPO is already rooted/unlocked so I'm trying to test out and find the best rom for battery life as both of the cm lollipop and marshmallow roms I've tried are about equal in terms of buttery-ness and just stick with that rom indefinitely.
Is general consensus that cm11 kit kat is far superior to the later cm roms in terms of battery life? Which exact rom would you choose as the last rom you flash onto your OPO ever?

Custom Nougat ROM Users! feedback needed

Hello Guys ! After reading up about the issues with the Nougat Official updates i wanted to give custom roms a chance.
However , the experience with Custom ROMS over the years have made me realise , Battery backup is never the same on a custom ROM compared to the Stock firmware.
Can people who tried out different ROMS and Kernels , suggest which rom or ROM+Custom Kernel combination gives Stock like Battery performance ??
Eagerly waiting for you replies so that i can get flashing..
Thanks in Advance
Your help is much appreciated
In every Nougat custom ROM battery is almost the same as stock. You have simply to choose the best for you.
I personally have AospExtended with Optimus r21 and I'm happy with it

Any specific Governor settings in the Optimus R21 kernel ??
And do you use dual sims in 4G ?
Any other Misc Settigns you do ?
What about the Standby time and SOT that you generally get ??
Thanks in advance BRO
I prefer "sis" eheh
Anyway, my kernel settings: BIG cluster max freq set to 1.6Ghz instead of 1.7 (I don't need any overclock), min freq to 345Mhz and Little cluster max to 1.1Ghz and min to 499Mhz, both clusters on Optimus governor. I left the other settings to r21 original.
I have a european single-SIM device, so no...
For the rest, all il stock, I haven't any battery friendly script, I believe in my Moto X Play, I don't want to mutilate it.
In Wi-Fi I reach 8h of SOT, I can stand 2 days without charge it in normal use. In LTE mode, almost 5-6 hours if I go out with a normal use, I can't tell you with a heavy use... when I'm out I don't use the phone so much also I have a tedious mobile radio active bug (that seem affect only me and maybe a couple of other users, I'm investigating) so previously in LTE I reached also 6-6.30h of SOT

I am on Aosp extended since it's version 3.3
Right now, I'm on version 4.3
No custom kernel.
If SOT is what you want to know, for me it's between 4 to 5 hours.
Dual sim with one on 4g and second on 2g.
Data remains on whole day.
Extermely stable. Just like stock MM.
If you don't want to use root or themes, maybe it will be more stable for you.

I'm on Resurrection Remix (Official) and has some little bugs in the movements on locked screen (camera and led torch don't work as expected). Another thing is if u open camera by lock screen can't close it (navbar is blocked), the way is re lock the phone and then get to the pattern screen again.
The SOT is about 3-4h on 70% time in WiFi and 30% mobile data (4G/LTE)
About battery in general there is some screen shots: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B_XlbO-BACx0bmRHc0R1dDcyQ3M
I will change my ROM because the dev (GtrCraft) discontinued the RR (see his message on the post)... So I think it's hour to test another.

Thanks a ton K.Khiladi.. those stats are impressive ... I would try this rom for sure..
My usage is mostly erratic... I am in office fro almost 7-8 hours when the phone just lies dead in pocket and when office is over i use phone services like location data and what not .. So basically i needed a ROM that has minimal drain while in the pocket and good SOT when i use my device actively for short burst of periods.... I know its always a trade off between SOT and Standby . Thanks for your advice

So, I flashed AOSP Extended last night... It's the best so far (just tried two ROM's yet), no bugs found by now. The torch light and camera movements works fine and I liked it.
When I completely test it perhaps make a review (maybe post here in XDA, if rules accept it).

The standby drain is okay for me.
A tip is go to the system settings > "Extensions" > "System" > "General Tweaks" > "Suspend Actions"
Then enable it...
My settings are:
Screen off delay: 5s
Screen on: 5s
Switch to 2G: Enabled
Disable Mobile Data: Disabled
Disable GPS: Enabled
This is doing magic in standby and the best part is enabling this don't make u losing any notification, they work fine here.

[MIDO] SOT with custom ROM

Below are screenshots of my SOT (using Slim ROM and Faust Kernel). The SOT measured with PCMark "Work 2.0 battery life" test. I started the test when the battery was at 85%, and it stopped automatically when the battery reached 20%. Everything else was running as normal - lots of WhatsApp messages coming in (no popups) and even an incoming phone call (which I didn't answer).
Adaptive brightness is enabled, with the brightness level set at 40%. The test ran overnight (note that the screen is on, and active the whole time - basically, it keeps running all sorts of benchmarks over and over again, with the screen redrawing continuously).
Result: from 85% to 20% took 11 hours and 54 minutes. This equates to about 17 hours SOT .
Can you try that with AospExtended ROM V4.4 and with the same kernel?

Outside of battery benchmarks, how long was your SOT?
Everybody has different user scenarios & different methods of using a phone.
This SOT of yours is not using mobile data network, only WiFi, correct?
Try to do a test using LTE or WCDMA only, without WiFi and share the result with us.
Cheers!
Faust Kernel with governor tweaks on the newest RR build and i can easily get 10 hours of SOT, sometimes 12 hours
As already indicated, everything was running as normal (which includes WiFi, bluetooth, and LTE enabled), and the PCMark battery test was running on top of it all. Performance benchmarks running non-stop for 12 hours on a phone is objective enough for me. YMMV.
I've been playing around for a few days now to find a good balance between battery and a good performance. LineageOS 14.1 with Vulcan kernel, currently at 8h SOT with 35% battery left. I usually just install a kernel and let it run on defaults so still learning what things do.
In Miui with Velvet, is not precisely SoT (actually it is because how the hell am i suppose to play with the screen off lol) but i'm really surprised to see how long the battery lasts even playing games.
Yes i was on Wi-Fi all the time but still... i would test LTE but i don't have , i just go up to 3G .

Aicp 13.1 , Maybe you can try stay on stock setting for few days I heard people say it's pretty good.
Another option is if you want more battery use Kernel adiutor to lower cpu max speed down for big and little core. For Aicp 13.1 there is guide from the dev (Mosimchah) on the first page of his kernel tread how to tweak for battery or performance.
LineAge 15.1 also coming together but less customization with stock kernel but it's good too for battery/performance. If you are not on your phone all day should have enough battery.
The best battery life will be with AOKP 6.1 their no ROM better!
The higher you in android the worse your battery life will be I have tried every one.

The original stock is still the best, but you are asking about ROMS.
AICP 13.1 (Oreo 8.1) is by far the best battery life for all the ROMS out of the box that still gives you proper notifications. In the past I have had to install greenify and other power saving tools. I do not have to do that with AICP.
On average I am getting 0.7%/hour drain when screen is off. Screen on time average is around 7 hours.
The ROM is still in testing stages, but it is pretty close to release.

Why is there still no perfect rom.
I tried all of them, none of them fit me ...
I do not want to disrespect the developers.
Aicp and omni are too slow for me. I feel like I'm using a medium and an entry-level phone when I use the device.
The paranoid rom is too fast.
But I have problems. Fingerprints do not work when I'm asleep. I have to try it all the time.
Lineageos aicp and omni talk too bad. (At the time of the call)

I have seen results similar to yours depending on my usage. However, averages are much more realistic than just one time results. I have attached an image of mine over 26 sessions.
Results can different with different users but I have used every ROM plus I have experience in kernel hacking .
I should said I'm not running stock kernel it came with.
Why don't post over night sleep usage mine will go down 1% to 0% 8 hours.
You can't get that in 8.1.
My performance is the same to 8.1.
I miss flew thing that 8.1 has but I'm good performance and battery newer is not always better.

Most roms are similar for functions, for Android 8.1 people like new stuff and the crazy hyped about it. For me personally I just want to try Oreo, want to know what it is like to use it. Aicp 13.1 and LigeAge 15.1 work very well, battery is plenty if you are not on your phone all day.
For battery, it means to be use/discharge that's why phone have it, how long it last just depends how you use the phone. You can't really get two days battery life with Sd820/821, you can get it with Sd625 like Redmi Note4 with 4000mAh battery. Most people carry more than one phone with them nowadays I think so no problem.
Aicp 13.1 is my preferred ROM. Graph starts at 60%. Only mobile data used, and cpu is set to 1.4 for little and 1.9 for big.
@Ace42
Performance at Aicp is much worse with hele CPU underclock.

I've just installed 6.01 rom Aopk on my x720 but doesen't go in 4G
I returned to my girom rom 26s-stock-based just after 1 hour
https://forum.gizchina.it/index.php?/topic/1307-gizrom-14-26s-per-leeco-le-pro-3-x720/
(i think that stock stock stock 20s in maybe better than 23s , 26s rom based ...)
I may be understood why ''6.01 rom Aopk marshmallow battery'' is good ... ,
with kernel adiutor,
I noticed that maximum high frequency was about 1800Mhz of big core ecc ecc with balance profile.
thanks by k54 (from italy)
I use miui9, and I get about 6 to 7 he screen on time easily. I had few screen shot, but ended up wiping the entire storage because of recovery issue.
Best ROM by far
Hey guys. I have been using this ROM for a month now and believe its the latest and most stable based off Leeco stock rom. I get around 5-6 hours SOT on medium to heavy use. That's with both sims on with 4G+ on all day. I have apps running all day like facebook, messenger, instagram, snapchat, skype, whatsapp, google+, outlook, gmail, aliexpress, expressvpn, spotify, teatv, youtube. Also play around 30mins of plants vs zombies and unkilled everyday.
All the features on this Cuoco92 VR4 ROM works flawlessly. Its based off the latest 28s chinese stock rom but all chinese bloatware and text has been removed. Also google playstore is preinstalled and it works without an issue.
Changelog:
- Based on official 28S
- Gapps minimal (02/2018)
- Cuoco Settings with new features
- User-Interface with toggles (check cuoco/Advanced settings)
- Dialer with large caller picture, call recording enabled for all regions, Yellopages removed (check cuoco/Advanced settings)
- Screen colors adjustments to be comfortable under the sunlight
- Updated Magisk to version 5.6.0
- New weather widget
- V4Android preinstalled
- Xposed installer
- DolbyAtmos
- Performance and battery optimizations
- New TWRP RECOVERY 3.2.1
- Removed ads from LeEco apps
- Other fixes
oint_right:__LeEco services are disabed from default. You can Enable it again from my settings.
: If you have any kind of issues, please backup your applications with TitaniumBackup and reset your device (factory reset) from TWRP.__
Factory reset required!
