Hi,
No luck here either.
I went to the link provided in the OP.
Clicked on "List of devices and resources".
On the new page I clicked on "Check out the AOSP for XPeria Z2 tablet project on Github".
Created the "local_manifests" folder and file within as said on the new page.
THEN it says "Download the zip file with vendor binaries from: http://developer.sonymobile.com/knowledge-base/open-source/android-open-source-project-for-xperia-devices/"...
And that's where the problem is : that page is not available...
So we're obviously missing some resources to be able to build at least if we'd like to build KK...
And I know KK is now an old and outdated thing of the far past.
But I happen to use XPosed. And that does not work on LOL.
If I can't customise to my needs, then I can stick to stock and debloat to my liking.
Regards.

Hi Tim,
Thanks for your answer.
That's the link to the LOL binaries.
As I said in my post, I am looking for the KK binaries because XPosed does not work (for now ? but for how long ?) on LOL...
Anyways, even with the binaries provided (LOL or KK for Z2 Phone, not Tablet) I am unable to build.
As soon as I fire the build, I immediately get an error "The make file you're using is version 4.1. Build requires make file version 3.81 or 3.82".
So the "make" file is too recent and Sony did not care to update it's sources...
I really am wondering why Sony makes such an effort to provide a "beginner's friendly guide to build AOSP for Xperia" if the whole thing is then obviously aimed only at developers that can help themselves out of those problems.
Regards.

Hi,
Cool... but WTF doesn't Sony also release the needed binaries to build an AOSP but KK version ?
I would like to build KK because I would then like to customise to my own needs without having to install a Custom ROM and for that I would like to use XPosed.
But Xposed does not seem to support LOL for now...
So a KK binary would be much appreciated... at least on my side !
Regards.

Why is the Z2 Tablet Wifi (castor_windy - SGP511/SGP512) not supported?
Also, is there an AOSP 4.4.x too?.

Thanks for the reply and link.
I was looking for castor_windy support for Sony AOSP KitKat 4.4.x (or failing that, Lollipop 5.1.x) for now. I haven't even looked at Marshmallow yet and don't have time to do so for now so, still to determine if Marshmallow meets my needs...

Xperia Z3 isn't included in the list, in accordance to the website: http://developer.sonymobile.com/kno...e/open-devices/list-of-devices-and-resources/
So it looks as if Z3 binaries and resources haven't been released yet. We're going to have to wait a little longer, so it seems. I'm looking forward to a AOSP experience on my Z3, though I do enjoy some of the tweaks Sony have added to their software experience.

thanks.. I was getting a bit mixed-up with the choose device config section in the instructions as that appeared to suggest non-unified instructions.
as an aside, I built z2 aosp last night as test run for z3 and all worked successfully ~ thanks for the great instructions, tutorial, and resources.

Pure AOSP 5.0.2?

Did somebody compile a AOSP 5.0.2 rom without any additions and wants to share it here? Or has the time to compile it and share it here?

You can find some pretty minimalistic AOSP ROMs out there, for example:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-simpleaosp-t2932090
Few changes, nothing major or noticeable.
If you want pure AOSP, it's pretty fun to compile it yourself!
ATM I'm using that. But I want the pure version for some reason. And I have no time to setup a building environment.
Is there really no pure AOSP build for mako? I can't believe it.

There's one here http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/development/rom-pure-stock-lrx22c-t2982897, but it's only 5.0.1.
Building one right now with the memory leak patches, but it can take quite a while until the build and upload has finished...
EDIT: Sorry it took that long, removing ccache was not that intelligent ^^
It is pure 5.0.2 with two cherry-picks to fix the memory leak:
https://github.com/Lethargy/android_frameworks_base/commit/da2133d046e59b590e51448eda31d710da217d40
https://github.com/Lethargy/android_frameworks_base/commit/e30ccdbeac2c53b04a389c7ffd8e9d500c93ef30
Download link: Recovery ZIP, Fastboot flashable images
Wow, danke! Werd's nachher direkt mal ausprobieren!
Update:
Does not install. "There's an error in updater binary" and some other errors...
The AOSP update scripts don't work if system is already mounted, I think. If it didn't work with an unmounted system, you could try the fastboot images I've added to the post above.
Okay, I'll try both variants.
After unmounting system before the installation everything installed without problems. ROM works flawless too.
DANKE!!!!

Sorry but it isn't fully working yet mate. The video didn't even mention where they got the rom from other than stating that it was "cyanogenmod or something", so we assume it's CM13. CM13 thread link is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/development-derivatives/rom-cyanogenmod-13-t3223808
It is still in alpha stage so it is by no means near a stable rom since a features are still not working such as mobile network and etc.

Don't you think the thread title is a bit contradictory? Surely, there is a confusion with s2 international and s2 plus.

Nope. You need to wait longer until developers work on unofficial builds first. Then there will be more android m ROMs for your device.

[RECOVERY] TWRP 3.1.1.0-0 Unofficial

Just kidding. @bhb27 doesn't want me to make this available. Apparently open doesn't really mean open sometimes...
If you really want 3.1.1.0, you can get an official build from twrp.me or the official TWRP app, but it will not include BHB's added functionality.
Its been available on TWRP official site for quark since the 18th

don't do this, if I did not release one is because I don't wanna... the official one release a stable one, that is not stable enough for me the day I fell it is I update my project...
if you wanna use anything you build OK, but don't share any of my current open project or threads if I did not ask you to.
so close the tread and delete the files please...

My apologies. When you post your source on an open GitHub, and make the address clearly available to the public, I assume that it is indeed open. I guess that is not the case.
As for stability, I haven't had a single issue with this build that I do not also have in your current build (like adb backup not working, for example). But I apologize if it caused your device any problems.

Correct, but minus BHB's mods and added functionality. There's a reason why he makes a mod version. This version contains the best of both worlds.
I think it's a shame that we can't have a new release simply because someone "doesn't wanna," but it's not my call I guess (even though legally I think it is my call, but out of respect I'll leave it alone). I'm using it and it works great. It decrypts my phone a little faster than the previous version.
All done here - closed

Oreo roms

Sony released the guide for making the aosp Oreo firmware. Why there isn't anybody here who tried to make one ?

I don't know mate.
I didn't mean to blame anybody.
I don't know how to make the ROM myself so I was asking if any developers tried to make it and it works and can be uploaded here.

Yeah, everybody waits for you to tell them If you don't know how to make ROM, learn it maybe...
Too soon to build a stable AOSP rom yet, they seem to work daily on it
For anyone wondering, here is the link to the binaries if you wanted to build your own ROM or maybe start playing with the kernel, but it's very early and they will likely update/improve this before official Sony ROMs for our device are available:
https://developer.sonymobile.com/do...ies-for-aosp-oreo-android-8-kernel-4-4-loire/
I built it a aosp oreo a few days ago and it's looking promising. The stability now seems good. Camera is not working for the moment. It runs quite smooth too
I've already made it. Not usable, so I didnt publish it. When it get into the launcher, it will auto reboot and then stuck in boot logo forever.

Hi! Can you relase it or have you relased it already. I would like to test it on my XC. I have looked for Oreo for the XC but with no luck. I saw that the XZ already has a relased build so can you or anyone do the same?

When I'm next in front of my PC I'll upload to this thread. It's not my work so I'm not going to create a separate thread for it.
There is one caveat and that is you will have to flash the vendor binary image to the /oem partition.
The nougat bootloader doesn't support this.
I guess sony will update the bootloader with their official oreo update.
Instead you have to convert their sparse image to ext format. Then dd the image onto the /oem partition.
Sony posts device tree sources that barely boot and don't produce stable roms. They rely on users to update the source trees for AOSP roms. These updates require a lot of work to sus out. You can't just "build" a good AOSP ROM without decent source.
The short answer to why one hasn't been posted is that Sony's AOSP program is a joke and it takes a lot more than most people would think given Sony's lip service to it.
Successfull buil AOSP Oreo
Tried to build AOSP Oreo r36 and was successful.
No bootloops
Anything seems to be working but
- the fingerprint sensor works partially (detects the fingerprint when initializing it but not after)
- there are some functionalities like noise cancelling and smart charge that are not available at the moment.
