Hello all,
I got an SM-N910CQ from Turkey (Carrier Turkcell - Not locked). And the KitKat is slightly different than the international version. Some settings items are in different locations and some are missing. Right now I'm trying to put the call function on the lock screen (by default there's only camera function available on lock screen). I've researched and found out that there should be an option to enable widget use in lock screen under Personal/Security -> Enable widgets. My security is under System -not under personal, and I don't even have a personal tab, I only have personalization tab- and "Enable widgets" option doesn't exist.
My device is not rooted and here's the system info:
Model Numeber: SM-NC910CQ
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband Version: N910CXXU1ANK5
Kernel Version: 3.10.9-3317155
Build Number: KTU84P.N910CXXU1ANK5
This device has some preinstalled software and default wallpapers from the carrier. I don't want to root and I was wondering if there's a general Firmware that I can flash using Odin to get the default stuff back and lose the preinstalled carrier crap?
Thanks in advcance.

hi guys im a new android user. i bought my i9505 galaxy s4 3 weeks ago and everything is working perfectly except the mobile data. i can only connect to E/G signals with it (which doesnt really do anything because i cant even check emails). its on LTE/3G/WCDMA/GSM(automatically) setting and the APN is the correct settings with the carrier in my country(philippines). i tried my sim on a different i9505 phone and it was able to connect to 4g so i guess the carrier/sim being the problem is ruled out. i have restored to factory settings/rebooted multiple times and am still unsuccessful. the phone's IMEI is not blacklisted or banned and it is intact(dont really know what that means but it shows a long series of numbers and im not really sure its safe to post it here). My carrier also supports the frequencies listed on what the phone has. i have not installed any custom firmwares and have not re installed any official releases.
i would really appreciate it if someone can help me fix this problem. could it be a software problem or a hardware problem(praying it isn't)?
my phone specs are
GT-i9505 samsung galaxy s4
android version:4.3

Hi. I received a Samsung Galaxy S5 as a gift about a month ago, but it's missing so many features I have no idea why.
My friend has exactly the same model, yet he has so many more options. For example,
I cannot edit the options for Power Saving mode
There is NO S voice on my apps page
The Sound Recorder looks just like the one from S4 and not S5, it also has NO options either, to configure it
Cannot change several options on the Camera, such as setting the brightness. The option is there, but it's greyed out, I cannot select it
I cannot update the android version. My current version is 4.4.2 and I cannot update it. As I access the 'System Updates', it does say 'Checking for update', but after a while it just says 'Network connection failed' no matter what. The signal for internet is the strongest, as well.
If I press and hold on the Home Screen, the whole options are not coming up either, such as seeing the current running applications. It just says 'Set wallpaper for', 'Apps and widgets' and 'Folder'.
What's wrong with it? Any way I can at least get the S voice?
Your phone might have a custom ROM. Go to settings -> About and list the following information so we know what we're dealing with here:
Model name
Baseband version
Kernel version

SM-G900F is the European version of S5 and from what I see there are some discrepancies with the kernel number ...
So here is my hypothesis:
A. It has the incorrect ROM, which means flashing a 900F ROM should bring back those grayed out menus
B. It is a clone and not the real thing! Try reading some more by googling this "3.4.5 [email protected] #1 sm-g900f"
Thank you for the reply. I will ask where has the gift been specifically bought from to ponder on the "clone" thesis. I really, really hope such is not the case. Also, will it only bring back the greyed menus and ignore the 'S Voice' problem?
Regarding the 900F flash, do you think it's okay follow this guide in the attachment? (Have to do it this way cause I can't post links)
I would not try to flash anything before you're sure what you have in your hands cause if it's fake and you try to flash official Samsung rom you would be in trouble. Download Phone info Samsung from play store and check there if it's a original s5
this seems to be common specs of clone s5 phones that i am guessing need the appropriate custom rom - would anyone know if the given specs/details above would be enough to identify a specific custom rom - i have the same specs and when i did a hard reset it let loose a mass of spyware, adware, downloaded numerous playstore games and porn site links all as soon as i put the phone online - i am therefore desperate to find a clean custom rom that matches the above specs - i am hoping as doves above for an appropriate custom rom source
Hello everyone.
I'm a real noob to android.
I purchased someone's Verizon s5 earlier this week. Great phone. My carrier is Rogers and the phone seems to deal with it just fine. I get good speed with LTE. The phone came in a rooted state so I don't know what it is running now.
This is the info from the phone:
model: SM-G900V
Android 4.4.2
Baseband G900VVRU1ANCG
Kernel 3.4.0 [email protected]#1
Build KOT49H.G900VVRU1ANCG
SE for Android: ENforcing SEPF_SM-G900V_4.4.2-0011
Harware G900V.05
Security MDF v1.0 Release 2 VPN v1.4 Release 1
It don't see any Developer edition marks on it under the battery.
My questions
1. What ROM am I using? Stock?
2. Is there anyway of removing these Verizon apps etc that I can't or don't use?
3. I get an error from the 'setup wizard' when the phone starts 'sim not authorized' . I close the app and it goes away. Is there a way to fix this.
4. Is it ok to install the roms for the SM-G900W8 (including stock) onto this handset? What am I risking?
5. Is there a Rom designed for this handset that isn't verizoned and is meant to work with any sim? i'm interested in keeping the samsung fingerprint, pulse, messaging, phone, contacts, calander, camera. gallary, music player, clock. Most everything else I think I can download.
Thanks for your time and expertise in advance.
Hi,
I've just found out that my baseband version is for the Taiwanese market (G900IZTU1BOA1).
How can I change the baseband version to G900IDVU1ANE1?
I need it to be changed, as I otherwise can't use NFC here in Australia.

The baseband version should have nothing to do with the ability to use NFC.

Hi AMoosa, this was on the Westpac Mobile Payments site:
How do I set up mobile payments on my mobile?
On your Westpac Mobile Banking App home screen, tap the ‘Pay’ button and follow the screen prompts to set up your eligible cards for mobile payments
For the Samsung Galaxy S5, you will need to have the latest version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware on your phone. You can find out by checking the 'Baseband version' field in the 'About device' options in your phone 'Settings'
For ‘Pay’ to be enabled on your Samsung Galaxy S5, this 'Baseband version' must be 'G900IDVU1ANE1'
This new Android KitKat firmware was made available for Samsung Open, Optus, Telstra and Vodafone Galaxy S5 devices from Tuesday, June 10th 2014
If your Galaxy S5 does not currently have the 'G900IDVU1ANE1' version of the 'Android KitKat' firmware, check the 'Software update' section in the 'About device' options in your phone settings.
There's 2nd massive list of firmware to download here

Just use one of them.

Hi! I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 SM-N910C. It's official, original, unrooted. I didn't want to mess with its Knox Warranty.
I want to enable the Passpoint feature for the WiFi but can't because there is no Passpoint setting available. I tried every single compartment in the settings menu and didn't find anything that might help, as you can see in this screenshot: i.imgur.com/Q9FNxfB.png
With my previous phones (a Note 3 and another Note 4) I could enable it and use it with all the WiFi networks that had Passpoint enabled. Unfortunately, I can't do this now with it. Can anybody help with a solution that won't involve breaking the Knox warranty [or rooting the phone]. I thought that maybe there's a way to enable it with the help of the ServiceMode or other secret codes, but didn't find anything useful.
