Ok guys, so I'm gonna need some serious help here! (rookie speaking)
My N4 is currently on stock 4.4.4. I got the 5.0 OTA update, downloaded it, but then when it was time to apply it the phone went into clockworkmod fastboot (I never realized it was there, once I asked a friend to root my phone but he just told me he couldn't finish the process).
So, I am currently struggling with trying to remove CWM altogether. I use ubuntu 12.04, have adb access and did successfully order it to go into reboot bootloader, but that was it. Couldn't get past that. I also did try to, through CWM's boot interface do a sideload, which I commanded via terminal with the .zip file I downloaded from the google developer website for my phone, but at the end it just said "installation aborted". How do I even get past that? Or how do I get the flash-all.sh script to run successfully? I'm stuck! (and obviously not very knowledgeable on this).
Any help is welcome, not afraid of bricking (lol, jk, yes I am).
UPDATE: As I was typing the aforementioned post, I tried all the format options within CWB recovery mode and now the phone is forever stuck on the google logo screen. I think I've officially bricked my phone. Any workaround this or is gone forever?
The firmware update to 5.0 will wipe out CWM and remove Root if you had it. Please see [INFO] Nexus 4 OTA Help-Desk
Also for your reference, should you need it Understanding the Android world before rooting your LG Nexus
If you do at all consider rooting again, please see [Guide] Ultimate Nexus 4 Root Guide
If you are still stuck, please post in [HELP THREAD] nexus4 Ask any question. and one of the experts will be happy to help.
FIXED
Was able to wipe everything out and flash a stock recovery image from google after borrowing a friend's computer with Windows and using SkipSoft Unified Android Toolkit v1.2.8.
Now successfully running Lollipop on my N4, relocked bootloader and don't plan on unlocking it ever again! Phew!

I can't find help in any threads so here's my story.
1.) Get Nexus completely stock back from LG, version 4.2
2.) Do OTA update to 4.2.2
3.) Things are going great, let me re-root this. Google a guide, unlock bootloader, download THIS file: download DOT chainfire DOT eu/315/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.25.zip (I believe this is where I went wrong. Wrong file?)
4.) Get CWM up and install zip, try to reboot, now phone is dead. No backups, the commands I'm trying won't send the factory image over to the SD card and when trying to sideload it using ADB I keep getting errors. Any suggestions?

Hey peeps
Ok so here's what I had:
A500 with ICS unlocked bootloader, CWM 10.1 and Thor recovery.
I've upgraded to a Samsung note and now want to flick off my A500. But before I do that I need to return to complete stock. I followed another websites guide (stupid me XDA all the way!) and now ended up in a pickle!
What the other website recommended was to download the OTA ICS (which I already had) and flash it like a normal ROM. I did that and the bootloader is still unlocked and I am not able to gain root on the custom ROM to repair the recovery (which gives me the little android on his back with red "!").
So here's where things get tricky. I can't regain root because ADB isn't detecting my device. I've tried every tool in blackthunders bag of tricks and they all come back saying "Done" but they don't actually work. I do have ATX mode and fastboot.
Can someone please help me figure out how to:
Get ADB working
Load stock bootloader
Get stock recovery back?
Thanks in advance!
PS: I've tried searching the forums and followed a number of threads and how to's but none seem to work for me
Ok update on this. I'm such a moron! I removed ADB drivers and re-installed. Once I got ADB working I simply used afterota (forgot I had it!) to flash stock and then do the update.zip trick
So i got my brand new verizon Lg G2 Yesterday, straight from verizon. It came stock Running VS98012B, Build number JDQ39B, Android 4.2.2.
I ran it completely stock for a little bit, and loved it. But ima crack flasher, and cant run stock for long. So i decided to root. I Used ioroot24 With a few hiccups(ADB drivers wouldnt install with windows 7, So i had to boot into windows xp and do the process).
So im now running the same software with a completely functioning and full root. Next step was to install TWRP or Cwm(philz). I followed WACOmalts Guide.... with no success.
(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2449670) This one.
Option 1 Goes good until this step
"./loki_flash recovery /data/local/tmp/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.2-g2vzw.img"
It always says something failed (Not sure about the message Because i cant repeat it now) Or it gives me a list of commands, as if i typed "adb"
Option 2 I can follow completely through with no errors, But rebooting into recovery always brings me to a black screen.
Ive tried the 2.6.3.1 and the 2.6.3.2 .img files with so success. So i downloaded both 2.6.3.3 and 2.7.0.0 zips and extracted the recovery img and tried using those files. Still a black screen.
Option 3 Just dont work for me.
Has anyone Had his trouble before? Im not a huge noob, Ive had a optimus l9, galaxy nexus, and htc incredible 4g, All with working recoverys So im sure i have enough knowledge. Please Help!

Just ran into the same issue it doesn't seem like anyone has an answer for this yet, some from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2584052
said they were able to just flash back to stock and do everything over and it worked but I was looking into to that but the KDZ method is apparently broken at the time and for the TOT method to restore I can't find a VS98012B (latest VZ firmware so far) TOT file to use for the restore so I don't break anything else.
I'll see what I can find and let me know if you find anything :good:
try Flashify app from the store :good:
Ok so "s-chassis" so being as persistent as I am:laugh:, I was able to find the stock recovery for VS98012B in another thread you can download it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...mctr=(not provided)&__utmv=-&__utmk=193184686
Look at post #10
Then I used the dd method to flash the recovery, here it is if you forgot
adb push recovery_vs98012b.img /data/local/tmp/recovery_vs98012b.img
adb shell
(IF YOU DONT SEE A # prompt, type su to get it.)
cd /data/local/tmp
dd if=/data/local/tmp/recovery_vs98012b.img of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/recovery
exit
adb reboot recovery
I got back to the stock recovery but the android has a red exclamation mark on it not sure why but if you have any ideas let me know
So, here is the deal,
I was rooting my nexus player though the normal process (by flashing the root.img via fastboot, just like in the tutorial) and everything was looking good, so when the device rebooted I looked for the superSU app but it wasn´t there. So I went to the play store dowloaded the superSu app directly from there (thinking better kind of a noob move ). It installed and asked to update the binaries, I accepted ( through normal, not with the custom recovery), after a while it notified me that the process was unsuccessfull and asked me to reboot and try again later, so I did it.
After that the device entered in a bootloop, and now I have nothing but access to the bootloader and the stock recovery...
ps: I had successfully installed the Cyanogen recovery, before it happened
ps2: Sorry by the bad english, it isn´t my main language
Flash the supersu maybe? From recovery?
There is talk about this in a few threads and it has work arounds
I did it!!
So, I took the weekend, to cool my head and today I came up with a fairly simple answer, I used the Nexus Root Toolkit by Wugfresh ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475 ), and the process couldn´t be simpler. I just put the NP in bootloader, opened the toolkit and used the option to flash stock.
ok so i rooted my nexus 4 to enable LTE. easy and straight forward have not had any problems yet. now that google has released OTA 5.0.1 for my device i cant install it. I get the notification and download it to install. and attempt to do so. when my device was rooted in installed TWRP program along side it. i have no idea how to install the update. ive tried looking up different sources and you tube but no help yet so a friend refered me here so here i am asking you guys for help. im tired of the little notification constantly popping up its so annoying. please help me
Bump!
You have to be completely stock and unrooted to update via OTA.

5.0.1 is old, go to the google developer site and download the latest image 5.1.1 and flash it via fastboot. If you want to keep your data just flash the bootloader, system, boot and recovery images then reboot. Search this forum for instructions on how to setup adb/fastboot.
