Hi all,
My Nexus 10 seems to be hard bricked.
Here the symptoms:
- Can sometimes be put in bootloader mode
- In bootloader mode, no way to put into recovery mode (the buttons vol up/down do not change the mode = it stays onlw in "Start")
- In bootloader mode, fastboot does not show the device (and of course no way to flash)
- Of course, no OS installed and no way to boot properly
The device seems to be recognized as "Samsung Gadget Serial"..
Any help is welcome !
Thanks
OK FORGET ABOUT IT
I found how to put in recovery mode : press power and BOTH volume UP and DOWN at the same time.

Hi Guys,
I'm a newb to XDA-developers.
I'll start from the beginning. downloaded image of kitkat from developers.google.com. and abd tools. Typed the fastboot oem unlock in the cmd line and wiped the cache and date/factory reset.
following this I then restarted the tablet and ran flash-all.bat.
On doing this the following was stated in the cmd line:
erasing "recovery"

Now when i Press Home+Power it wont give me the recovery just normal boot.
BTW: My fastboot is via volume up + Search button + Power is this okay?
fastboot on the GT540 is CAMERA+POWER BUTTON
are you sure you are in Fastboot mode when you send the comand through adb??
later, in fastboot, when it starts rebooting, as soon as you see the screen turning on, press and hold HOME+POWER

Well Fastboot aint via Cam+ Power at me. It is Volume up + search button + Power it says Cleary FASTBOOT MODE on screen. Yes i am on fastboot mode on it.
Thats exactly what i did but still
as far as I know, fastboot mode is just a light black screen
what rom are you using??
Well at me it says Fastboot mode
and i am using: http://www.mediafire.com/?y7q20212djy40ap
2.1 Fastboot europe
That's the Europe rom from the FAQ, right?
If that's correct, I can confirm that (at least in mine) the fastboot screen is just a dark empty one
The only mode that I've seen with a description message (beside moded ones like Clockwork) is the Download Mode, wich I think is Volume Down + Power
Maybe yours has Recovery in a different keys combination, just like it does fastboot
What do you want to boot into recovery for??

Try this: Pull out the battery and go back into fastboot. Type:
Code:
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery_clockwork_4.0.1.4_swift.img
If that doesn't work, try reinstalling your fastboot drivers (In Device Manager)
thanks, work it
Hi, hope this is the right place to post this.
So my Nexus 7 (2012) was stuck in a boot loop, Google logo followed the little splash thing and repeat wihtout actually loading up. All I could open was the fast boot menu and the four options: wipe data/clear cache etc. I downloaded the relevant drivers, Android SDK, the factory image etc.
I was following these instructions to unlock the bootloader so I could flash the tablet:
fastboot erase boot
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
This all worked fine.
fastboot oem unlock was typed next and the bootloader unlocked fine.
I then went to typed **fastboot flash bootloader bootloader-grouper-4.23.img**. Apparently what's meant to happen is:
sending 'bootloader' <2100KB>...
OKAY [ 0.123s]
writing 'bootloader' ...
OKAY [ 9.876s]
finished. total time: 9.999s
However mine just got stuck at the "writing 'bootloader' ..." stage. It was like this for quite a few minutes when it's supposedly meant to take a few seconds. "Signature match" showed up in the top left corner of the tablet however it is unresponsive, you can't move the buttons to show the Recovery mode/Power Off options.
I foolishly closed the command window and opened a new one. I tried to do the next stage "fastboot reboot-bootloader" however it just says "FAILED (command write failed (unknown error))" You get basically the same for all the other commands either unknown error. If you try to flash the bootloader again it fails and says invalid argument. My tablet was still recognised by the PC, showing the fastboot screen with Start in the top right and signature match in the top left. However any other prompts would fail. Eventually I unplugged the tablet and was able to turn it off with the power button.
Previously I had had trouble opening the fastboot menu or even getting to load to the boot loop (not responding to the button presses very well) however so far the display hasn't powered on at all. The only response you get is when it's plugged in you hear to device connected and disconnected sounds, and it is recognised as APX in the Windows device manager.
So what should I do? Is it fully bricked? My tablet is out of the 1 year warranty (This probably voided it anyway). Greatly appreciate any help anyone can give me
Normally flashing of a bootloader with a signature mismatch should not work, there are some protections build in, so I see two possible situations for you:
Either you are stucked in APX-mode, but the old bootloader is still working: in that case hold down the power button for at least 20 seconds to turn it off completely and then try to restart the tablet again
or flashing of the bootloader started, but failed during writing the new image. In that case the probability that you have a brick is very high ...
For the last week I have been trying to root and install TWRP on my Huawei p8 Lite ALE21. Sofar every attempt has failed.
Steps taken:
Get Bootloader Code
Unlock bootloader with "fastboot oem unlock"
Flash TWRP with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img"
Result:
When booting into recovery the default "Huawei eRecovery" opens, not TWRP
No app can detect root
Additional info:
TWRP form here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/development/testing-twrp-2-8-7-x-huawei-p8lite-qcom-t3187758
Trying to debug the problem, I entered
Code:
fastboot getvar all
this returned
Code:
getvar:all FAILED (remote: Command not allowed)
Additional I have tried to downgrade to android 5.0 again, but after copying the Firmware to the "dload" folder and holding the Volume-Up and Down and Power buttons, the phone wouldn't do anything but show the huawei logo and turn off.
Any help would be very appreciated!
Thank you in advance,
Oisin

Sorry, i didn't read the post linked.
You need twrp 3.0.2 for B5xx, i was thinking you had the right one (2.8.7 works on kk and maybe lollipop), so here you are: http://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/twrp-3-0-0-0-p8-lite-kirin-t3343320

I tried updating to Android 8 but I failed.
Currently, it is in the following state.
1. When turn on the power,Huawei logo is not displayed
2. The screen is black and does not react even if the power button is pressed for a long time.
3. use Vol-Up + Power , Vol-Down + Power,3 Button does not respond.

I am thinking that I can recover using FASTBOOT FLASH XXXX.IMG.
But I do not know which partition and how to update.
Please tell me about how to recover and related sites.
Thank you
have you tried turning it off and on?

when you rebrand and install ROM with dload and then sign in to Google account the FRP Locked will be dissappear
this following method be the same that you use it before
now try this
1- Unlock bootloader
2- install twrp,
3-do oeminfo backup in twrp, you should have a folder name twrp, inside this folder there is many subfolders.
In last folder there is 2-3 files, those files should be replaced with Oeminfo Al00 : https://www.mediafire.com/download/37n3jqv23j6erq5
Once replaced, put this folder on ur sd card and boot to twrp recovery than restore it.
4- download C00 offline firmware from third post here https://forum.xda-developers.com/ma...o-bootloop-t3534594/post70937310#post70937310 , Download B115 then extract the rar and copy dload folder to external sd card, turn off ur phone than press 3 buttons combination, power volume up and down till the update start.
5- when finished unlock bootloader again
6-install twrp again
7- flash hw_data for C00 in twrp http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/.../v65567/f2/full/all/cn/update_full_all_cn.zip it will give an error, don't worry.
8-flash c00 offline firmware again to have locked bootloader and get rid of the warning message lol
9 factory rest from settings.
10-use system update to get the latest firmware, sometimes you need sim card inserted, and using the download latest package option.
11 done.
Currently, only FASTBOOT can be used,
FRP is preventing the overwriting of the partition,
so I can not try the suggested method.
I studied variously, but I can not find a good solution.
I am planning to use DC-Phoenix (paid service) in a few days.
It seems to be able to update ROM from FASTBOOT even when FRP is locked.
I tried DC-Phoenix, but as a result it failed. The FAST BOOT which I was able to use until now can not be used and the power can not be turned on.
I am disappointed that the method of recovery is gone.
Thank you for your support.

Well, with fastboot, adb, bootloader mode, and eRecovery gone there is not really a lot you can do short of returning the device to Huawei (hopefully you still have warranty) for a replacement. Just tell them your phone died.
Hi All,
I just followed the instructions to root my h918 and then successfully updated to h91820h. I then used the TWRP app to flash twrp, and the Magisk app to update Magisk. After that I rebooted from the Magisk app, and now my phone is stuck in a bootloop. I cannot get into download mode, or recovery mode, or the system. I can get into fastboot mode by trying to go into download mode (holding the volume down and plugginto a USB port ot the laptop.
It seems that T-mobile removed any commands from fastboot that will help me. If I try to "fastboot reboot emergency", it just bootloops. If I try fastboot boot a twrp image, I get:
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-1-h918.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.667s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.686s
The command "fastboot reboot bootloader" boots to fastboot. The bootloader is indeed unlocked, but it looks like I'm stuck, because the LG fastboot doesn't allow anything to fix the brick.
Code:
$ fastboot getvar unlocked
unlocked: yes
finished. total time: 0.020s
I'm not finding any hope or help on Google. It seems if I can't boot into twrp or download mode, I'm toast, and I can't figure out how to boot into anything but the bootloader.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to bring this phone back from the dead?
Thanks,
Rob

im having the same problem, i dont have download more or twrp now, all i have is fastboot
i am going to assume going into download mode through fastboot is the only option for the two people posting for help here. from what i see from the posts, both hardware buttons sequence , or the plug in & down volume are the ONLY way to get to fast boot.
and fast boot is the only thing available on the phone.
i have labeled that a soft brick .
i asume one of the two help seekers have used the magisk 20.2 trap?
the release proved to be a problem , there is a tutorial on how to fix it.
i will go look for that and try to edit it into my responce later.
for now, are the two seekers already acomplished in this procedure?

fastboot boot twrp-3.4.0-1-h918.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.667s]
booting...
FAILED (remote: unknown command)
finished. total time: 0.686s
The command "fastboot reboot bootloader" boots to fastboot. The bootloader is indeed unlocked, but it looks like I'm stuck, because the LG fastboot doesn't allow anything to fix the brick.
Code:
$ fastboot getvar unlocked
unlocked: yes
finished. total time: 0.020s
I'm not finding any hope or help on Google. It seems if I can't boot into twrp or download mode, I'm toast, and I can't figure out how to boot into anything but the bootloader.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to bring this phone back from the dead?
Thanks,
Rob

ok i found a way to get into twrp (if ever installed)
1- turn off your phone
2- hold Volume Down + Power button until you see the LG logo
3- When you see the Logo release the power button while still holding the volume down and immediately after release press power button 3 times.
4- you will see a factory reset screen, press yes twice and it will go to twrp.
NOW WE NEED TO FIND A WAY TO FLASH A WORKING ROM THRU TWRP
