[ P ] [ Q ] Getting angry with awful battery life. - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

After 11 months of G2 using , the battery life is getting awful... Tried calibrating the battery , changing sTweaks , but the max I could get is 3hours SOT. Today the phone coulden't even last my school.
What could cause the problem?

You're using a Custom Rom, that's what's wrong with your battery.
Honestly though, I haven't got much better than 3h SoT from Cloudy G3 so...

really?
edit:
i don't even use greenify

Seems like your battery has gone bad. This is definitely not a software thing.

try optimusg3 rom

Here screenshots before i unplug charger

There is no problem with Cloudy or Dori, I am sitting at 44% right now with just over 4 hours of SOT.. Mind you my phone is only 6 months old...

A custom ROM wont be the cause of the problem. If anything I have been able to get much better battery life on CloudyG3 and Dorimanx kernel, battery lasts about twice as long as stock. I think that is more of an ATT stock rom problem though. SoT mostly has to do with the brightness of your screen IMO, so try to keep it down as low as possible while still being bright enough. You can also optimize for better battery by tweaking kernel settings to not ramp up as fast, or disable some cores, etc.

Desire HD and SetCPU

Is there anyway to make setcpu works with my desire hd?
Visionary is working perfectly but I think perflock is blocking the speeds control. If I try to stop it with the menu command it gives me an error message.
Please If you find any solution post it... I'd like to save some Battery limiting the cpu frequencies

Since the update setcpu works perfectly with visionary. We DHD users can now disable perflock and control cpu frequency. Life is good.
If you set visionary to root your DHD on boot then you don't have any issues with things being "temporary". Well technically they are but you won't notice.
Have all installed on mine but i cant find a way to go above stock speed, is there a way to do this ?

What cpu frequency's are you setting in place to gain 30% more battery life?
Hi.
To use setcpu on the desire hd you should first root it with Visionary (set it to run on boot). Then you can dowload the app and launch it. When it has the root permission you should press the menu button on the main screen and use PERFLOCK disable. (set it ti run on boot too).
When perflock is disable setcpu take control of the clock speed.
My settings are:
When screen is off, speed is set to 245min-245max. this will grant you lot of spare juice from battery, only con is the 3 or 4 second lag when you turn the screen on. It needs some moments to put speed back to 1024. Not big deal if you get use to it.
Then when battery is under 50% I set it to 245min-768max. this will reduce the power need of the beast of a little 10%, means like 1,5h more standby time.
When power is under 20% I reduce the speed again to 245min-368max. In this config the phone react like my oldtime beloved hero...
I do not use the htc battery saving.
Hope it helps!

You can not Overclock the stock Kernel.
Thank you for the post Endr1, quite interesting.
I can use SetCPU, I can manage profiles, but I cannot OC the device beyond the 1024 MHz
I have tried several CPU frequencies with SetCPU (very nice and simple tool, love it!) and noticed that overclocking the Desire HD to 1459MHz seems to be ideal. With higher OC speeds I do not get better performance (if I may believe Quandrant standard benchmarking tool).
I have LordMod kernel + CoreDroid v9.2 running.
Here you can see benchmark before OC

Post your battery life!

Hi,
I know there are many galaxy 3 users, and some of them doubt their battery.
So i opened a tread, where you can post your battery life, with maybe a screenshot!
So you can see how long other users can do with their battery, and you can compare
This is my battery:
I got 5 days of use, without plugging it in.
Here are some screenshots of mine:

I have a stock battery
good result
It lasted 44 hours with heavy usage(WiFi,Music,games,GPS...),with average it can go to 4 days without charging.
I'm on Destiny 2.1 ROM.
just a hint:
wouldn´t it be better to black out your phone number in first screenshot?
3-4 days with kyrillos10
Well i am getting a battery life of around 14-15 hours on a good day... Any suggestions?
Oh i am running Froyo Purumod...
Tried CM7 too... Without any avail...
With internet I used to get 15 hours with 2 hour of talktime.........always on 3G!
I get 16 hours on normal usage with CM7. Can you also post your calibration stats (use Battery Monitor for that). Mine is 4193mV at 100% and 3556mV at 0%.

I will recalibrate my battery tomorrow after it's fully charged and post my results ASAP.
Mine scored 808 points in AnTuTu Tester (Battery Test):
I used Stock T-mobile HU 2.2.
...and finally a trick: if you want to make a screenshot like the first, open the AnTuTu app, hold the Back key pressed, tap on 'Battery score ranking', press Home, and then release the 2 hw buttons.
Edit: stock battery, the phone is 1 year old (I used it for a half year, but in the last half year it relaxed. )

Here's mine~
551ml 4gb ram model running Prism barebone V6 on project T kernel.
Cpu clock set at 500-1333 Mhz on thessjactive governor. I/O sioplus.
On 4G network throughout the day except night time when i was home and switched to wifi. (4G to wifi usage ratio. 9:1)
SOT about 6 hours. Played some games but mostly browsing on social networks, xda and stuff.
Attached screenshots from cpu spy and gsam as well for reference.
Currently trying out RR now~
I'm using EOS 20151002 firmware.
Using both sim cards, while one of them has no signal most of the day.
Z00A WW 2.3GHZ 4GB 32gb version.
While in Stock, i used to go into flight mode to conserve battery. In this rom haven't tried it yet.
I've installed tasker, but haven't used it for battery conservation yet, only automation.

nope, I don't use stock kitkat, but kitkat based roms, just like you're sharing your personal experience similarly I've shared mine bro.
I'm very surprised with my result. This is stock 5.0.2 with stock everything and relocked bootloader. All I have done is disabled background data for a few troublesome apps like Google play services.
I have 2 email accounts setup push. Bluetooth is always on and was on a 50/50 mix of WiFi and 3g data. Display brightness is auto.
Disabled most of the Google syncing stuff though. Overall I'm pretty happy. I want the 3rd generation Moto G now though.
I'm getting a 4 hours & 58 minutes Screen on Time with 5% battery left. Still a good battery performance for a phone that would turn 2 years old this coming april. I'm pretty much contented.
I'm on a 7.1.1 Resurrection Remix ROM with default kernel, Greenify was installed, wifi was on all the time, 1h 30m of surfing the web with Chrome, streaming videos in YouTube for 2h then browsing Facebook and Instagram with the remaining hours.
My result, i am on AEX rom v4.6
the phone is only 2 week old i bay it for 50$ ?
