One of the Carriers here in Canada (Mobilicity) has started to sell the Nexus for $300 no contract .
Here is the link
Seconded - I am looking to get this deal.
I just have one concern - Like the SGS2, is this some sort of substandard model of nexus? It seems there is only one "Galaxy Nexus".
Confirm please and I'm sure many will be happy
This one would be compatible with AWS as well. Unfortunately Mobilicity doesn't ship anywhere, you have to collect the phone at a store. Who wants a 340 dollar (tax) GN shipped to them?

Yes there is only one model of the g-nex (except in mexico japan and us carriers which is a CDMA version of it ) also 340$ is still a really good deal

Do they ship to the US?
Anyway we can order from the US?
You can contact htcfan he is a active marketplace member who lives in canada

Oh come on.. I was at Canada 2 weeks ago (Vancouver).. lol.. damn it.. if it was $300 when I was there, I would have probably bought it. But $300 + crazy Canada tax and currency, it might be similar to Google Play I think?
Not to take the thread off topic (somewhat) but I just checked the Rogers site for a comparison sake of the price and the phone isn't even listed on there any more. I am shocked that they took it down while they still have the SII on their site. I guess sales must of been pretty bad if they took it down.
Yeah both Rogers and Telus have taken it down i guess people don't want to get a $600 device that sells for $300 and I doubt they want to sell a unlocked phone.
Also yeah I think you have to go to a store to get this I doubt they ship but hey it's a good deal for canadians who live in large metro areas
Picked one up.
It is unlocked.
They won't ship. You must get a plan with the phone, but since it is month to month I'm sure you can cancel in the first month. With tax and the first month of 25 dollar service it was 370 or so.
So the unit I got has that problem where certain shades of grey are purple tinted. As I understand I need to root to get it to 4.1.
Phone comes with 4.0.1.
Direct some questions if you'd like
Yeah it's a little more expensive then the play store one but in Canada they aren't sold in the play store.
Also yeah ours are on a NON Yakju build so you manually have to flash it over to receive OTA updates
No Thanks

Sale price is applicable only to new activations when customer purchases in advance, non-refundable 3 months of services on the $25 or $35 Back To School Plan (equivalent to $75 and $105 respectively, plus tax) and is on automatic monthly payments (preauthorized credit/debit payment).
Ok, so who's spotted the Note 4 yet? Best Buy and Future Shop both list it in their flyer, but you call the store and they don't have a clue
Expansys.ca doesn't have pricing or delivery dates yet.
Anyone else find this elusive beast?

Oct 3rd for Canada? I don't think so. Most of the rest of the world still has it scheduled for mid-October. I think we'll be lucky to get it then.
Futureshop this morning and the guy I spoke to said that they won't even have display models on show until the day before launch - he said they even did that for the iphone 6's.
Hey guys, I work at a telecom company in Canada and we have a launch date for the Gear Live on october 2nd. We usually launch the watch with a smartphone so I am assuming that the release date will be on the 2nd or 3rd.

This would be awesome, but still seems like speculation. Crossing my fingers though ?
Just got an email from Expansys.ca about my pre-order... $849 for the Note 4... I think that's too high and I may hold off on it. When US carriers are selling it outright for $649, I just can't bring myself to paying $850.
Has anyone else found better prices?
Well... things escalated quickly.
They said the Note 4 would be shipping no later than this Thursday (Oct 2nd), but when they confirmed my order, it ended up being CDN$933 + shipping and tax, which put it close to $1100. I don't feel that any phone is worth that much. I cancelled my order and will be holding off for now.
Expansys is now showing the pre-order price of 999.99! Way too much!

That's pretty outrageous. I'm looking back at my Note 2's invoice and I paid $800 form them with express shipping and taxes included - two years ago. There's no justification for such a high price on the Note 4. But I have a feeling that they've artificially inflated that price - once it's in retail stores, they'll drop it quickly. I was just hoping to get it sooner, but not for a few hundred dollars more!
Can we just purchase in the USA and unlock here?

I strongly suggest you make sure the model supports the LTE frequencies here in Canada.
The canadian model is sm-n910w8 and that's the one to get.
The Expansys one is probably the sm-n910s which is the international model and therefore LTE will be limited and not even work in the USA (AT&T).
Just get one from the big 3 (telus, rogers and bell).
You must get it with a plan but that doesn't matter, just go through with it and cancel 5 seconds after. You will NOT pay cancelling fees. Then you unlock the phone with whatever service you want.

just be aware.....
in fact the sm-n900a and 900t wich are at&t and T-Mobile variant gonna work perfectly here...my former optimus g pro wich only at&t brought this model in north America was working perfectly on robellus since these carrier are using the same frequency....except for the newly 700mhz here in Canada wich in U.S.A they use already since awhile...personally I"m gonna wait for the 900w8 since they should be invailable in same time...
in fact the T-Mobile variant is even better since it would work on wind and videotron......

I'm with Virgin, but they are basically Bell, so whatever Bell sells will work with Virgin - I really just want to avoid signing up for a plan, cancelling, and all that nonsense. I just want to buy and phone and set it up.
If Bell won't sell the phone, what are my options? Go with an unlocked non-Canadian LTE model?

Bonus: it kinda pisses them off, I like to tell them to their faces that's what I'm doing.

So you go on a month-to-month plan (to get the phone outright), then cancel the plan right on the spot and keep the phone? LOL Do you lose anything? Like an activation fee or your first month payment for the plan?

Well, there are no activation fees, but yes you will have to pay the first month. It's a small price to pay for getting the phone asap. Also, Telus will sell it for around 900$ and if you think about it, expansys is asking 1000$ + shipping, so it's not really that bad of a hit.
I blame Samsung, I want to give them my money but they don't make it easy.
However, their stunned stupid face, when I unlocked my Note 2 right in front of them while someone was explaining the "plan" is priceless (remember the menu unlock thing...).

Thought it was going to be the 64GB for a bit, but Cam got that bit wrong. Now it's 32GB as expected.
Band 12 support for 700mhz LTE is pretty awesome too.
EDIT: Hope the mods let this kinda-placeholder thread exist. It's useful for TMo folks.

I'm hoping that they do a pre-order a few weeks in advance online like they're doing with the Xperia Z3. I don't want to have to go wait in line at the store to get my phone, but if I have to I most certainly will!
Are you sure it's only 32gb? I'm seeing discussions the this might be a T-Mobile exclusive or that there's a 32/64 option.

I know some people are adverse to it, but if you have Google Voice and you download the Hangouts Dialer app (with GV-Hangouts integration), you can have Wifi calling and texting built in well before the official Wifi calling app hits. I'm currently using it on my N5, and it works great, even on my super slow work wifi. People do have to call or text your GV number for it to work seamlessly (or port your # to GV), but it seems to be a good alternative for now.

I heard that the only model T-Mo would be selling is the 64GB model for the price of the 32GB model total.
Who here is hoping the price for it on contract will be at least $199 up front? Also as someone who used to work for T-Mobile I can try to answer some questions for T-Mo Nexus users?
So when they say that WiFi calling would enabled with an OTA, is that only if you bought the phone through them? So if I bought the phone directly from the Play Store and used my $30 prepaid SIM, I wouldn't get said update to enable it?
Is it better to get this through T-Mobile or buy from the Play Store? I don't have a plan with T-Mobile so I would be switching over. My current carrier is FamilyMobile.

That's actually a damn good question. We do not know if this update is solely for the T-Mobile Nexus 6 or for all models. For that fact if this is Google developing the update with T-Mobile or T-Mobile exclusively.

T-Mobile will likely be charging the device at about $199 or so down payment with 2 year activation of one of their plans (which are not that expensive depending how much data you are looking for.)
That said they will tie you in a contract to pay off that phone in increments of $20 dollars a month for 12 months (or anytime you feel like paying the rest off) until the device is payed in full. Rumors state that T-Mobile will be doing $27 a month for 12 months for this device so that is worth noting as well.
On the Play Store end it looks like it will be $650 straight out for basic model. To some that is fine but to others not wanting to drop all that down at once T-Mobile's way would make it very desirable for paying it off in increments. It really depends on your preference.

According to their press release HERE, it looks like it will be $0 down and $27/mo for 24 months if you go that route. I will most likely go with the $0 down option, as I currently have Jump for my N5 and am so glad that they're giving us the option to pay for the device in full over the full two years instead of having to put a big chunk of change down.

As far as I know, this is true. They won't let you do the payment deal over a certain amount. The iPhone 6+ was 850 and you needed 100 down to do do the payment deal. IPhone 6 was 750, no down payment. Note 4 is 750, no money down.
Hmm...I think I will just get the play store version then. I want 64GB. Although really I get by fine with a dual 32 GB USB (micro and A) stick with my 16 GB 2012 N7. I just use it for flashing ROMs, titanium, and TWRP backups.

Now, the other question of the day (and we probably won't know until pre-orders start) is whether TMO will carry the white version or just the "midnight blue" version. I was disappointed that I couldn't get the white N5 from them, but that was quickly solved by swapping out the back with a white OEM version from eBay. Fingers crossed for the white version AND the blue version so we at least have a little choice.
TMO has the Nexus 6 both 32 and 64 for $100 off.
Would this be a normal Nexus 6 or like the AT&T one that would be locked?
I want to get this for Google Fi.

T-Mobile's Nexus 6 is totally unlocked, would be the same as buying from the Play Store except only T-mobile would have the IMEI (so theoretically you will not be able to get a new Verizon SIM as Verizon will not add non-Verizon IMEIs to their database).
So it would work on Fi?
I guess I should just wait as I would like to have one that I could use on any carrier

Yes it will work on Fi. There are only 2 versions of the Nexus, US and International. Any Nexus sold in the US supports the same bands and will work fully on any US carrier. The only differences you will see are carrier logos on the models bought from AT&T and Verizon.
So if i got it from t-mobile I should be fine.

I bought my nexus 6 from amazon in April. I emailed customer service and was able to get them to price match. At first they denied my request stating that Amazon doesn't price match. But if u are persistent they will refund u the difference.
T-Mobile bloatware
I would buy this to use with my StraightTalk SIM.
Do the T-Mobile versions (even full retail price) have the usual carrier drawbacks - T-Mo bloatware, long wait for firmware updates, etc - relative to the non-carrier version? I've used custom ROMS with other phones in the past, but would like to keep this stock if possible.
After having a chat with a CS rep, they said I have to return the phone, to reprocess the order, and re-buy a new phone to get the promotional $100 off..... smells fishy to me
On top of that there's the $50 restocking fee, so I'd only net $50 for what should simply be a $100 price adjustment/account credit. Should I try reaching out to T-Force? Why does life always have to be so hard? Do I have to be an asshole???

I purchased my Nexus 6 64GB from Amazon about 2 weeks ago for $734. I took me a few tries but I finally got through to the correct department for Cell Phone price match and got them to price match T-Mobile at $599. You just need to be persistent.

nexus 6 unlocked not the carrier model... moto X pure
Sometimes you can upgrade your line through a third party retailer like Best Buy or Costco and keep your u/l data with the $400 subsidy.
Upgraded (bought retail from Motorola) when the Nexus 6 came out. Fantastic upgrade.

I'm gonna be looking to try and do this (again) when my current contract is eligible for subsidized upgrade in about 6 months. Do it now if you can.
So the nexus 6 from Verizon is totally locked down? (No way to unlock boot loader? Or root?) because the nexus 6 upgrade at Costco is $0.01

I would not trust best buy to not mess up my unlimited plan.
If you haven't, check out this massive thread detailing how you can keep your unlimited data line...

I've used the Best Buy method before with success, and I was able to sneak in almost two years ago when VZW had that weird glitch where they were allowing people to upgrade phones in their store. The corp store employees weren't extremely happy with me that day (because I got to keep my unlimited). Hopefully they won't close the Best Buy loophole before I can upgrade in September.

Thanks, what a massive thread, will read later with time. Have once done the costco version of the upgrade with maintenance of UDP in 1/2014. But then I had one dumbphone on my line to transfer to. On quick read of the thread you post, it seems I still might be able to accomplish this.
The VZW Nexus 6 is the same as the one from the Play Store, except maybe a logo (I've never seen a VZW purchased one). AT&T is the carrier that screwed the Nexus up.

The Moto X pure looks really sweet in the few videos I saw today about its unveiling. So it's carrier unlocked. Any reason why a non-carrier purchased X Pure would have a locked bootloader, or is that solely a carrier-based affliction?
Same boat

I am totally happy on KK on my VZW Moto X Dev Edition, unlocked bootloader, rooted, XPosed Module with XTether. I still have grandfathered unlimited data as well. Have any others with this situation considered any upgrade path going forward? Obviously, will need to purchase a phone outright to continue unlimited data, but what phones are (or will) be as "open" as the DEV edition going down the road?

I'm in exactly the same condition and am also happy with what I've got. The new Moto X announced today looks nice but I'm going to wait and see what the next Nexus device(s) look like. I'd prefer to go that route if VZW doesn't muck it up.
I'm also in the exact same position, MotoX, 4.4, xposed etc. Regularly I consider upgrading but then I realize that, with a Nexus 7 with me, tethering etc. Why do I really need a new phone. Moto X is still completely usable (though I could do with a factory reset I think just to clean a few things up) and does everything I need. Why spend the money. I am REALLY tempted by the 2015 Pure though. I would have bought a Nexus 6 if the reviews had been better.
I'm conflicted

I just switched to the uphone 6 last week, losing my grandfathered data in the process. This wasn't a spur of the moment decision, and I caution everyone to think carefully. For me,
My service sucks in my new house and I was using wifi all the time anyways. So paying full retail for phones like I've been doing, didn't make sense anymore. I now have 10gbs that is shared with 2 other family members, who use about have a gig together (at the most) per month. Verizon actually makes it pretty easy to look at history. I strongly believe in the future Verizon will move back to unlimited data, though I'm sure it will be more than the $29.99 a month we've been paying.
Why I bought an iphone is a little more complicated and emotional. I've been using Android since it came out and have loved it. But I really just became tired with Google and the Nexus line. With the new Nexus devices, not knowing what the device can do, or which carrier it was going to be for has been a nightmare. I've hoped every year that Google would start giving the Nexus line up some type of consistency but they never do.
The Nexus 6 really pissed me off because I don't want a phablet and I'm sick of Google "forcing" us into things. Apple really did this right by offering people a choice in regards to size.
Now don't even get me started on the Nexus 9. Again, these inconsistencies are what drove me nuts. Not only did they skip a year for a larger size tablet, but then they release the Nexus 9 lacking features (that I personally use often) i.e. the HDMI out. Again, because they want to force you to use the chrome stick which we can all agree is the dumbest thing ever.
Should I even mention the Nexus Q? I'm glad I'm not kicking myself for that purchase.
So sorry for the long rant, I'm really not looking to start an apple v google battle here. My Nexus 10 is still running strong as my personal tablet, and my iPhone is really fun to have as my phone- though I sure do miss the active display.
I'm using an ATT Nexus 6 on Verizon right now (work thing). Yes you can sim unlock, yes you can bootloader, and yes it has CDMA radio and VZW's LTE bands.
Its too big. I will not purchase for my personal line. I still love my 2013 X. I don't care that it isn't running Lollipop yet.
