My phone is a Lg g2 from Verizon running an unofficial build of Carbon rom
The problem started when I flashed Jishnu's camera mod which made me stuck in a bootloop
Seeing that it wasn't going to get any better I tried restoring a backup which ended up not restoring at all and resulted in softbricking my phone. Although I was able to fix it when I tried using the camera it was unable to record video, thinking that it was only a software problem I thought I would be able to flash a rom to fix it, turns out I was wrong which resulted int he camera not even being able to take pictures now.
I've tried re-installing the rom, doing a factory reset, installing a new camera, flashing a zip to replace some of the camera lib files, but none of those were able to fix the camera. And I'm pretty certain that this isn't a hardware problem
Does anyone have any suggestions or potential fixes?
flash stock rom and see
I actually went back to stock and it worked
Although any other rom I try and flash it doesnt work
So im now on resurrection remix with a camera that cant record any videos
Have any more suggestions?

Well I used the LG flash tool, put the phone into DL mode and flashed the stock verizon firmware
The action mode i used was the Upgrade DL, the only other option would be Board DL
EDIT: Im downloading another LG Flash tool, the one i used doesnt have a CSE option, Ill return to stock once again and edit the post for any updates on the situation

So I'm really into Android developing, I'm always flashing and installing etc, but I got a problem now.
Phone information
LG G2 D802
Rooted
TWRP Recovery 2.7.0.0
Was running 4.4.2, found a kdz file on the internet and flashed it (no regular update from my phone)
What happenedI actually did something stupid, I received an application update from the LG Download Center (or whatever it's called) on my phone and clicked on it. I was planning on flashing Android 4.4.2 again because my firmware was not stable, and I thought this update could help me.
But no, after it finished downloading, I automatically booted into recovery.
What I didSo I tried to reboot and enter my OS, but unfortunately, I was stuck in recovery.
I did everything I could, wiping (Dalvik) cache, factory reset, flashed a new rom, restored Nandroid backup, but no, every time I booted, I got back into recovery again.
I only saw 1 option left, booting into download mode and flashing a new firmware.
I found the Netherlands 16GB kdz file for Android 4.4.2 (because I had a French one first), the one I was looking for.
Looked all over the internet, and all guides pointed me to this guide.
Tried it, but I got multiple errors, one of them was that my phone was not connected while I was at 15% of the flash process.
What happenedAfter that first flashing process, I booted up, but got a Security Error. After the Security Error was showing for 5 seconds, my phone shut down. This is happening every time I try to boot up.
I couldn't access my recovery anymore, nothing. Edit: I can access my recovery right now, and I tried this, but when I boot up I get the Security Error again.
The big problem right now is the Security Error! How do I bypass that?
So can someone please help me out!
Several phones/tablets of mine bricked and I always found a way to get out of it, but not this time, unfortunately...
Have you tried this

Yes, I actually have. Didn't mention it, but after I did that I booted and got an LG logo and below it was a text that said 'Security Error' After like 5 seconds the security error goes away and my phone shuts down. I can only enter download mode right now.
I'll edit my first post with this info.
Thanks for the help though!
Edit: I find a way to access my recovery again because at first I couldn't but I figured out that the code in the thread you linked was a bit different than the code I entered at first.
So I used the code you gave me, but now I get the Security Error again!
Hi mate, just like you i downloaded that damn OTA today and messed up my phone, but in my case was because i had totally forgotten it was rooted and had custom recovery installed :silly::silly::silly::silly:
I followed this tutorial to fix the boot secure error http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 and it worked like a charm except for download mode wasn't working at all.
After doing some research i found this post http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ricked-lg-g2-stuck-twrp-no-download-mode.html and got download mode (apparently) working again but Windows didn't recognize it at all so i couldn't use it to flash the .kdz stock firmware.
In the end i just flashed a custom aosp rom and got my phone back to life but the download mode issue it's still there and it's bothering me quite a lot.
Any suggestion is welcome.
EDIT: Don't download the recovery from the post, instead look for the latest version (2.7.0.0) because the one posted there (2.6.3.2) might corrupt your partitions

Thanks! But does my internal storage get whiped? Will all my pictures etc. be gone?
And the first thred removes the security error right? And after that I can just boot into recovery mode (I can boot in recovery btw) and flash a new rom? Just wanted to know this so I don't go through all that trouble for nothing
Edit: You know I can enter both download and recovery mode right?

Nope internal SD remains intact, basically what you'll be doing is pushing the right files into the system partitions and yes, in theory you should be able to flash a new rom.
Even if you can boot into recovery you should do it if you're getting that error, and after that you can just push a ROM file to flash (i'll assume you know how to do it) and btw let me know if you decide to flash a stock based rom instead of an aosp like i did.
Good luck with that :good:

i installed the drivers and the USB is connected but the pc don;t even say that the device is connected . and nothing in device manager at all
Perhaps you might consider sending it in to lg if you still have warranty. But I'd you don't, there are services on eBay/ Craigslist that can help you.

I did the exact same thing because the ****ing jokers at LG / Wind labeled the phone wrong.
It's actually a D803. Yeah, despite what it says on the case.
You can find my solution in my post history here.. You need to flash a .laf file with fastboot to get your download mode re-enabled, then you can apply a stock .kdz file to bring your phone back to stock.
Then use the D803 files and no worries! You can fix this.
If you're scared, I can also recommend a respectable shop in Toronto that can fix it easy.
Hey guys, i dont know if its bricked or not, but i have download mode and recovery, i am on stock, but ... my modem is unknown, and after several kdz upgrade stills so .. could it be that my partitions are wrong? i rooted and changed recovery, and my recovery is not properly functional ... sometimes looking via explorer I see the "0" folders but should they dont be removed by turning back to stock via lg support tool?
Thanks for help!

@vyrus973 dont use lg flashtool now, read the go back to stock guide and flash your phone with .tot or kdz again, root the phone, install recovery and if your modem is still unknownnyou flash it from this forum.

flashed with kdz to 4.2.2, rooted, flashed recovery, flashed baseband, still buggy ... now i did the same and toggled the ROOTED status from download mode and i upgrade to the latest, so maybe I can say to LG centre that after ota bricked, its in warranty, or should i do something else?

@vyrus973 so whats now buggy then? The 0 folder is actually not a big deal, I had it also from custom roms. Is the modem still unknown? Could your efs partition maybe bad?
If its really an hardware issue non fixable then I would send it to LG if its not your fault. But if its an easy to fix software issue then I would try to fix it myself.
Could you explain more about your issue.

the bug is that he dont start the service, he does not even try to read my sim card, still no connection, and he self restarts like a loop, so i cant even use it really long time, sometimes he gets connection but even than with really bad signal, when i put on fly mode and return back he does not connect more, even the data connectivity than does not work, since i flashed the optimus v3 rom, i tried each kdz for my phone but no one did really fix it, sometimes at the first runtime it function and than after restart still buggy aaaaa its make me crazy, actually i am using a 6inches big china phone and that cant be a permanent solution.

@vyrus973 so you still have the backup? If so then you can try to restore it. You can also google about g2 efs recovery to restore it but I am not sure if it is possible. I think that your efs partition is corrupted or got removed.

@vyrus973 ahh okay, if you flashed back to stock and removed root temper flag then you should be okay. If you live in europe then it didnt matter that you had rooted your phone I thought. But your download mode said unrooted so the temper flag got resetted.
Goodluck with your phone and have fun with it, dont brick it

I recommend you to read a lot about flashing custom ROMs before trying to do it.
LineageOS has a pretty explicit installing tutorial.
If you can get into fastboot mode there is hope.
