open ports on orangeuk?

Hello folks at XDA, im hoping to use some apps that can access my phone over a normal 3g network, theyre working fine over wi-fi, but no joy over 3g etc. I read somewhere that this is because Orange block access to ports (my 3g ip is http://10.44.103.xxx:8082) is there any way that i can get this port unlocked?

That's an Android issue .. Apps aren't using the proxy . On mine, just the browser works with http proxy (just surfing, no download)

You may have the "network issue" that 3g is not working properly.
You may see (if this affects you) that your phone is always uploading data over 3g but never downloads
If this fits you then one easy fix to get it working right away is to dial *#*#3646#*#* then go phone testing. Change your network to GSM only. This will limit you to 2g speeds but it always works.
Moving back to WCDMA prefered at a later time sometimes gets 3g to work normally for a short while.

i can download just fine, its an app that allows me to see the screen of my phone in realtime over a network, (PicMe). It gives me an external ip but i cant connect to it from my desktop. This is the same if i try to access my phone using OnAir (to browse the contents of my sd card)

Wifi tether doesn't allow talk + browse

I have stock ROM (the original, not the new version).
I've installed the Wifi tether app from OMarket (Mobile Wifi Router), which is the same as the one on the stock UK ROM.
It works just fine but the problem I ran into was when someone called me and I was talking to the person, I was unable to browse on my laptop.
Usually I am able to talk and browse at the same time on the phone.
My office location gives me Full signal at H (custom icon set) speeds all the time. So it wasn't an issue with 3G not available.
Anyone else has had the same problem? Any solutions?

[Q] 4G Web Browser Issues

I've got a strange issue that has just recently started occurring. I work in Lowell, MA and we get great 4G coverage. Everyone else in my office with a 4G phone can connect and browse the web with no issues. Up until a few weeks back I could connect and surf the web just fine through my Epic, but as of recently my phone connects to 4G, I get a MAC address, but any web page I try to load I get an error message. I've tried browsing on both Skyfire and Dolphin with the same results... not a single web page I visit loads at all. Anyone have an explanation or a fix for this strange issue? [Q] No Streaming over my WIFI

I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from this forum, and I thank you.

App unlocked, network unlocked, No Data installed, Total Commander installed
I am having a problem that has started recently. I have app unlocked my phone and have NO DATA installed. I use my phone to access the internet only over wifi connections.
I have the YOU Tube app installed on my phone, and have been able to stream over the wifi without issue until recently. It always says connection error. No matter what videos I try to access I get that message. I even get them message trying to access the at and t mobi TV app.
I can still browse the internet via opera, but IE does not work via the wifi, but if I enable mediaNet, I can do anything I want at a ridiculous price!
How do I fix this. I have concluded that somehow At & T has made it so I can only stream video over their media net service. Or is there a setting I need to change?

I am having difficulty/ inconsistent to use browser thru my home wifi but download from Market is fine, anyone can tell me how to solve it?
