I have the Samsung Galaxy S4 (I337) It's unlocked and currently using it on T-Mobile's network.
It's running Android 4.4.2 and I am trying to update to Android 4.4.4 but it always says "Software Update Interrupted" & when I try to update again it says "Software up to date, try again in 24 hours".. I contacted AT&T and they said to turn data off and leave WiFi on and try again. I did and this time it did take longer to look for update but it said the same thing again. I contacted Samsung and they told me to try the "Samsung Kies 3" method, I did but it said " 'SGH-1337' does not support initializing." I told Samsung & they told me to go to a local Best Buy and ask them to upgrade the software for me.... But I don't really have time for that, so can somebody please tell why it's doing this / how can I fix this problem? / how can I update it?...
By the way, no , my phone isn't rooted.
Reset
Try removing youre sim card and doing a factory reset and go through the setup only connected to wifi and then check to see if it will upgrade that way

Are you rooted? Once it downloads it probably won't flash correctly.
Do you have a ATT SIM card? I believe you HAVE TO be connected to ATT to get the update. It won't update if your on T-Mobile network.
What firmware are you on? Depending on what firmware you are on you should be able to find the stock .cfg file here in this forum somewhere. You MAY need to INCREMENT each update manually though. For example if your on NB1 you would need to flash in stock recovery the .cfg file for the next firmware to NC1. THEN flash the next .cfg from NC1 to NJ4 (or something along those lines with each firmware). NJ4 is the newest so you will end up there.
Give more info on what your firmware is? If rooted or stock? If custom recovery or stock? Any other info so others can help guide you better.

Just bought a S4. Love the phone.
Phone is the SHV-E300S running 4.2.2 Exynos 5 Octa. Bought it in Korea with Olleh / KT pre paid sim.
When I try to update the software it says "Failed to update software. Use SKT USIM card to update". Any idea what this is and how to fix it?

Sadly the only way to do a normal update (OTA) is to buy/steal/borrow a "SKT USIM"
sim card and temporarily put it into your phone in order to update it.
Once the sim card is in the phone restart it and go do the update.
After a successful update remove the sim card from the phone and
re-insert the one which you were using before.
If you cannot get your hands on a "SKT USIM" you can always root or try to root your
phone by going into download mode using ODIN to flash CF-ROOTER or other ODIN
compatible rooting .TAR files.
Last but not least you will need a custom recovery so again using ODIN find and flash
flash a custom recovery like twrp/cwm recovery. (the ODIN .TAR file versions of it).
If all of that is done successfully you can then flash any of the really excellent custom
4.3 roms which you will find here in xda that are compatible for your phone.
Good luck!
Remember it takes less time to click the "THANK" button than it takes to type "thank you"
Help Please. I was updating my phone and know I'm messed. Phone is stuck in download mode with Firmware upgrade encountered and issue. Tried to use Kies to fix it but it just downloads a bit then hangs there and does nothing. Tried to Odin 4.3 stock but the Knox bootloader won't let me. Any advice besides using it as a paperwait.
Update:
Fixed the issue. Firmware is I337MVLUEMK6 .Just downloaded stock firmware and used Odin 1.85 and used upgrade bootloader and placed file in bootloader section only.
First off give some more details. What were you updating to when the problem arose? Which 4.3 were you trying to flash in Odin? I saw another individual who needs the mk2 Odin file. If someone is able to provide it I would say that is your best bet for now assuming you were already on a non-MDL firmware, which I would gather is the case.
Also, XDA does not condone any type of fraud. Take that talk elsewhere

Hello,
I am writing since i want to avoid reseting my phone for this since samsung kies fails at restoring my phone (it restore what the programs wants).
I have 2 gb of free space and i logged into my home wifi. I selected software update and it says there are not updates available. Called AT&T they told me to call Samsung. They suggested to try using kies and kies wont update. Samsung Kies says i have the latest firmware. I verified the about device info, i am still on Android 4.3. Many friends on ATT already got the update. Any help?
No one knows? Any idea?
Im not supposed to tell you not to upgrade to the official ota. But ive heard of so many bugs on it that most of us here didnt take it, or those that took it wants to go back but cant. If you really want to look at the general thread for att note 3 youll find it there but also spend some time reading peoples post about official ota.

I you go here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SM-N900A&pcode=ATT#firmware
there is no KK update for you device.
So to make long story short, I was on Official 4.3, then I rooted it, then installed CyanogenMod, by going here: beta.download.cyanogenmod(DOT)org/install
Then I wanted to go back to OFW, so I re flashed 4.2.2 and my WiFi didn't work, so I found out I got the older version of Android I wanted 4.3, so I re download it and it goes thru, and EVERYTIME it fails at the end, right after a file called "aboot.mbn". I'm getting all my firmware from Sammobile.com. What can I do?! I also tried a .pit file, and Samsung Kies, nothing works, I'm using the original cord I've tried different ports, and everything. Works fine with the older version of Android, but it does not update to 4.3 and the WiFi STILL doesn't work. HELP! It has shown a error saying "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again". However I can get into Download mode, but not recovery mode.
Thanks in advance!

Hi, I got a S7 Edge SM-G935A from AT&T at the end of December.
That same night I tried to root my phone(i got a bootloop), and I didn't know the bootloader was locked.
So I re-flashed a SM-G935U rom, but I would like to go back to the basic one in order to get a new start(SM-G935A), without root and nothing.
Knowing that I have a problem connecting to the wifi, maybe because of the rom that doesn't match.
And also i dont have samsung updates, i'd like to have the latest one im currently on 7.0.
If someone could help me to get my phone with original firmware, I'd be grateful.
Ok, first off, you can run any US/Qualcomm variant software on your device. Unless you just have a hankering for AT&T firmware, the U firmware will work just fine. Either way, find a full copy of either A or U firmware and ODIN it down, and you will essentially factory reset your device in the process.
There are links to both in this forum. I personally prefer U because it is faster and less bogged down with carrier crap, but if you are an AT&T customer, there are decent enough reasons to stick with A.
NOTE: you may need to use Prince Comsy's ODIN tool if you get a mismatch error. Unfortunately, there is no universal ODIN tool, but as a general rule, if you are CHANGING variants you need Prince's. If you are writing over the same version, you need the official.

Then this is easy. Go download the U firmware and use Prince's ODIN to convert it to a G935U. If you aren't on an AT&T network there is zero reason to keep your device on A firmware, starting with the fact that you will never get updates. (AT&T firmware will only update if you have an AT&T SIM installed.)

Only add-on is to perform this from a Windows 7 pc and not 10. Prince kept crashing on 10 and worked fine on 7.
