YouTube videos take forever

Idk if this has been covered because its been a while since ive been on here but I was wondering if anyone else has problems when viewing videos on the youtube app?
It takes some videos minutes to download and some just never do. Does anyone know a fix?

The fix is..... switch to verizion... they bought all the towers sprint couldn't afford to keep up, atleast where I live and work... unlimited data isn't so cool when you can barely even use it

the only problem is the 2 gig cap. a friend of mine just got his first android on vzw and signed up for a 2 gig data plan. first month used 8 gigs just enjoying his new gingerbready goodness. they waived the overages that month, but when he did it again the second month, he got hit with 60 dollars in overages. 10 bucks per gig after 2. he is now at the point he is thinking about selling his droid3 and going back to his envy touch or whatever because he cant deal with the caps.

You need to get a different driver for the radio.
When I had the epic I had the same problem.
After flashing so many radios the driver from the last update on froyo...only one worked for me.
Also the one from the first gingerbread leak also worked.I forgot the version as it was a while back.

For sure!! I went and priced them out for a family plan yesterday. I don't need to spend 70 bucks more a month to be limited to 4gigs and no free mobile to any mobile.. 145 with sprint over 210+ fees with big red.. :-(

My way of mobile data handling

I say keep the caps but offer an unlimited......
EX:
2gb $25
5gb $50
10gb $80
Unlimited $102 (BUT DO NOT THROTTLE!!!!)
Would that be suitable?

Unlimited shouldn't have trottling in the first place.

That is my main problem with Tmobile, I have the unlimited plan but once I hit 5 gigs it becomes too slow to do anything

How slow does it get after passing the cap?

I'm on T-Mobile and you can actually get either a 200MB, 2GB, 5GB or 10GB plan. I have the 2GB one, as I have wifi access in the places I spend most of my time.

I think mobile devices will go the way of home communications/entertainment eventually - you will pay for the data plan and VOIP/Stream other services. $100/month for unlimited data + $50+ for phone its really getting high though

Le Sigh. Your right. I'm paying cable prices for something that I can carry around with me and get broadband speeds. I hope they just realize that data shouldn't be capped/throttled but Comcast hasn't been taught this lesson so I'm worried it won't sink in.

What are edge speeds?
Like on Sprint 1xRTT is like 17KB/s (kilobytes)

Guys, capping is the goal, not the means. The whole idea is to annoy you into getting a more expensive contract and then only using a small part of it.
They fiddle with the limits until the most people switch up and they make the largest profit.
Anyway, paying per used amount is like going back to the days of WAP.
If only someone started a worldwide data-only network, sigh...

6gb was 30 dollars a month on rogers months ago...

Edge are AT&T 2G speeds...it is pretty miserable. I have the unlimited plan (throttled after 5GB). I am actually thinking of cutting down my data plan though, I have never gone over 1GB per month. Cell phones aren't allowed where I work and I keep wi-fi on whenever I am home and wherever I can have it on when I am out and about.

I have this phone with 2 GB data plan. I called tmobile and they said they are offering 5 GB data plan for just 5 bucks extra for 3 months. I thought I should let you now about this offer.

I say go for its its five bucks I download Tom's and flash them and watch Netflix surf the web and I have a 5 gig plan and you could tether internet if you Ned to from 3rd party apps ..its a good deal

Need contract extension your upgrade date wont change though. I looked online classic plans are $15 more for 5 gigs than 2 gig plan. So this applies with the value plan most likely. I have unlimited minutes and and texting but don't need it I only made like 86 minutes in calls in the actual day. all my calls are during free nights and weekends anyway. Free wifi calling its like I have the unlimted minutes anyway.

This is a normal bump up to 5gb with discounts applied to the account. Its worth it and shouldn't extend your contract as it is only a feature and not a rate plan change. PLUS 5gb now includes tethering!

Are you sure on the 5gb including tethering? My data plan is like $20 a month for 5gb

All 5 gig plans include tethering and mobile album for free. The extra features are separately 14.99 each.

I believe the 5gb plan that goes for $25-30 includes tethering.
The 5gb preferred android data plan is only $20 and does not include it.
^not many people know this one, but there it is lol, You can call in and ask for it. It is better askign the loyalty/retention department about it. Some of the regular customer reps don't know about it for some reason.
I may be wrong about the preferred android data plan not including the extra features... it's been awhile since i bothered the CSRs lol

On classic plan called said it was $35 dollars and extend my contract. So it only applies to value plans.

whoa what?? who did you talked to? let me go through t-mobile's website and see whats up with their services
okay wow, it looks like they did UP the data plan, but whoever you talked to might have been trying to change your entire PLAN and not just a service. Service upgrades should not be a contract extension.
I would recommend to switch to the $20 5gb preferred android plan. I hope they still offer it.. they should be able to though. This works on any plan. It was a hidden offer and was not a grandfathered service unless things have changed. Doesn't hurt to try. This goes for everyone.
talk to the retention/loyalty department for smoothest help. Regular CSR will say they can't do that etc etc.

Yeah preffered is 20 its an older feature.. you have to ask for it through care not available in store system. New 5gb feature is 35 but does include tethering on classic. On value its 25

Last week I was offered 5GB for $15 including wifi hotspot tethering. $5/month for the first 3 months sounds great, and I imagine it would revert to $15/month after the first 3.

Just letting you know the preffered $20 5GB does include tethering. Myself and my brother have it
and it's listed on the bill.

Something like that is only offered through loyalty and they will most likely extend your contract to give you that.
On value 5gb is 25$ and on classic its 35$. So the only way to get any other price is through loyalty.

Tmo customer care. I had called in about another issue and they usually try to sell something when they have a captive audience. Most of my data usage is done via wifi so I turned him down.
The $15/5GB plan he offered me most definitely included tethering.

I was switched to this. I was told it would be a $5 a month saving for 3 months and then I would revert back to 2gb for normal price.

If you go to t-mobile's site, and click on Individual plans.. you can see it's already implemented "As Unlimited Nationwide 4g"
But when you log in to my t-mobile, it's not an option under services Guess they're still working on it, hah

What are you talking about. My bill literally went up two dollars when I took off my insurance, which I don't need because I root. I think it only went up to thirty dollars on the classic plans.

If you had the $10 Android plan that they gave out to preferred customers, you'd have a $20 price increase..
But those of us who were unable to get the $10 deal.. 2gb was previous $20.
Considering 5gb was $35, I'd say $30 for completely unlimited is a damn good deal, lol

Did anyone else just lose data? It's redirecting me to a "choose a plan" page but when I click it, it says I have a data plan. Weird :| That was on my phone, non-tether.

Yup I just got off the phone with Tmo support they said they have to readd it to my line and it could take 2 hours. FWIW I was off the phone 10 minutes ago and still get the upsell page.

Wow oh wow you guys are really lucky to have unlimited data.
Im with vodafone and there data is limited to 750 mb per month.
When im contact finish i will jump to the carrier that offers unlimited data presumably 3

I have 555mb per month and what I pass over costs me 4 cents/mb. That's pretty decent for me as I'm 70% of the time connected to wifi networks (doing over 20 gigs of traffic)

I moved here from the states at the beginning of the year, I was on Sprint with unlimited data. Words can't even describe how much I miss unlimited data...

What networks are you guys on? I'm on giffgaff (uk) and used 2.2gb last month... and I thought that was a lot for a phone

Im on 3uk pay as you go. I buy the £15 bundle which gives me 300 mins, 3000 texts and all-you-can-eat data.
Really not bad for £15 a month pay as you go.

wow and i was thinking im going crazy on my unlimited data, i used 7.6 gb. this month.
how do u use up 180gb in two weeks? wifi tethering?

Moving from the U.S. to Germany and leaving my unlimited Verizon contract to 500mb a month is the worst thing ever...

12GB a day? I don't think so, you would be done for fair usage.
