[Q] Recovery Mode - Nexus 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello, i have used Nexus Root Toolkit on my Nexus 10.
Now is always stopped on a screen with the text "google". If i try the Recovery Mode it fails. To the Recovery Mode i do this:
1. Turn off;
2. Press and hold the Power, Volume Up, and Volume Down buttons at the same time for several seconds until the tablet turns on.
3. I press the Volume Down button twice to highlight "Recovery mode."
4. Then i press the Power button to start Recovery mode.
But the image of an Android robot with a red exclamation point is never appears...
How do i solve this?
Thanks in advance,
Paulo

i just read this on a site its for hard reset but cant you get into recovery mode with it
Hold the Volume Down button and press and release the Power button. A window with some option will be displayed on the screen. You can use the Volume Up/Down buttons to scroll between these options. The following options are present to you on the screen: Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage and Simlock.

So holding the volume down button while powering on the phone does not get you into download mode? I thought that always worked.
volume down is Odin Mode. You want boot mode.
Volume Up. Home Button. and Power.
When you see the tiny blue writing in the top left corner. let go of the power. continue holding volume and home until it resets again. You'll be in Recovery Mode.
Be careful in there. Id suggest going to "Reboot Now" by pressing the power button.
That outta do the trick.
Hope it helps.

I dont know which method you used but you need to flash a custom kernel after the rom afair. Did you flash the one?
Press and hold volume down, home button and the power key until you get to the Download mode screen.
Press volume down to restart.
Immediately press and hold volume up, home button and power button.
You will see a message about "Installing system update..." which will then change to a Recovery Mode screen.
Use the volume keys to select the factory reset option.
Press power key to confirm that choice.
Once the wipe is complete, use the volume up/down keys to select "Reboot device now" and press the power key.

Galaxy S4 (i9505) boot problem

Hello,
I create a new thread because all "hard/soft bricked" topic are not the same as me.
I explain, my sister give me a galaxy S4 (i9505 variant) who has fell into the water, the eMMC seems corrupted.
The phone has "boot order" problem:
- If i try to boot normaly (just pressing power button), the phone boot in recovery mode
- If i try to boot while pressing vol down + home + power, the phone boot in "normal mode" (android seem not damaged)
- If i try to boot while pressing vol up + home + power, i show the "samsung galaxy s4" splash screen and the phone reboot in recovery mode
The only way for me to start in download mode is to boot android (using vol down + home + power) and using ADB with "adb reboot download".
I've tryed to flash pit, rom (who is stock rom i9505XXUHOF2) and trying "bootloader update" option of odin, nothing change, the "boot order" is always wrong !
I'm not sure, so i think it's Qualcomm firmware who manage the "boot order", if yes, how can i redefine it?
If no, do you have some informations/solution that can help me to have the phone working "normaly"?
Thank you in advance for your reply.
Kev
Try this: uncheck everything in Odin except f.reset time, flash stock rom, remove USB cable from the phone, remove battery, wait 5 seconds, replace battery, boot into recovery, perform factory wipe, remove battery, try to get into download mode again.
Do the volume buttons work when the phone has booted into android?
Hi audit13,
Thx for your reply
I've tryed what you suggest so boot order is always wrong.
Volume buttons work fine (i need them to boot android).
The problem isn't to get the download mode, so key combinaison to boot method, before phone feel water, keys combinaison was:
power button => boot android
vol down + home + power => download mode
vol up + home + power => recovery mode
And after feel the water:
Power button => recovery mode
Vol down + home + power => android boot
Vol down + vol up => download mode
If it can help, while phone is shutdown and charging, the phone vibrate every 3 seconds and didn't charge, if i just press vol+ and vol- keys during 2~3 seconds, the battery logo appear and the phone start to charge. A second thing i've see, when i'm on android, if i use the "reboot" function, the phone reboot in recovery mode.
It seem that the bootloader didn't boot on the good partition.
I've see an option in odin v3.10.7 called "auto start" and can take value from 1 to 8 (or nothing), do you think this can be a setting that allow user to define the partition number used to start?

Phone Stuck on blue screen

My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge + is stuck on a blue screen with a caution logo, a dead android logo, and the words "Error!"
This happened when i clicked an unknown button in recovery mode, i think its along the lines of "Install via ADB"
This is a stock recovery mode by Samsung
I am unable to power off the phone by holding the power button
Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?

Turn it off with power volume down and home all at once for a few seconds. Let go once it goes black and see if you can turn it on. If not do that combo with volume up instead. Can you get into recovery? It will turn off with that 3 button combo.
