I see a lot of discussions and speculations on the S5 getting the 5.0 update around December/January. But I can't find any info at all regarding the S5 Active model. I know the software is essentially the same, but maybe there are some minor differences due to the physical buttons on the Active. So my question is, will the Active get the update at the same time as the standard model?

Hi guys, I'm having this extremely annoying issue with my S4.
EVERY SINGLE TIME I open "Gallery" on my phone with my TV on, it turns the TV off immediately. Now, this happens:
- whether I'm sitting 2 feet accross the table or if I'm pretty far away in a different room
- whether or not I unlink WatchOn from my TV set
- whether I use my S4 or another S4 (my wife's for example), which seems to mean that it's not related to my specific handset.
I looked everywhere online and can't seem to find anyone having the exact same issue, let alone a solution.
Yes, the IR Remote feature on the S4 is great per se, but this is a major problem. If my kids are watching a cartoon in the living room and I'm in my bedroom trying to check recent pics I took using my phone, it turns the TV on instantly.
I have a S4 i9500 (international version, still running on original firmware I9500XXUAMDK) and my TV set is a 42 inch Samsung plasma.
PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!!!

Updated to latest firmware. Thx.
I started a thread before, but found out it could be a software problem as a lot of demo units' compasses don't work all the time.
S4 has this problem too.
I have the N900W8 device, if that makes a difference.
Fill the poll out above to answer ^, or just comment down below.
Same problem here

Hi, nicholaschum.
I've the same problem. Mi phone is a N9005 (europe free note 3).
I agree that is a software problem, as if you calibrate the compass sensor (*#0*#) it runs without problem until I restart the phone.
I've also tested several demo units at a samsung store and all of them (galaxy s4, note 3, s4 mini) presented the same problem.
The technical service guy told me that they can change the motherboard of the phone, but I doubt that itgonna fix the problem.
There is a lot of threads, here on XDA, but also in other forums reportinf the same problem on several samsung devices...but unfortunately without solutions.
I'm very pessimistic about this problem, due to that we're more concerned about getting new versions of android instead of get this kind of issues fixed.
Sorry for my english!
Mine's accurate in Smart Tools. DBT N9005 4.4.2 NB7
The calibration does seem to get lost upon a reboot, but you do not have to go into the service menu to recalibrate it.
When you are in google maps, simply rotate your wrist (not your arm). Rotate your wrist around and around about 3-4 times (no need for anything more than this so only takes 5 seconds). And then I find everything works just fine.
You shouldn't have to do that after every reboot, but its not too bad if you realise you don't need to go into the service menu and the right movement to recalibrate it quickly.
Hi I have the Chinese SM-N9006 with Base Band Version N9006ZCUBMI3 Build Number JSS15J.N9006ZCUBMI5
I have the Google Play and Google music working perfectly fine. My Apps work without any issues.
I find sometime phone is a very sensitive to touch, though I have the touch feature disabled. I have only had this phone for 2 weeks.
and also I cannot get it to link to he Samsung KIES as there is device driver.
I have the phone connected to a Canadian carrier with no issues, but keep getting Chinese updates to the phone. Is there a way to stop this? And also is there a way to get the local carriers updates?
I feel like my Camera is not as good as it should be for 13 MP Camera, its dark and even with the light or flash, it seems very sluggish. I am looking for any advise from any one as if they experience the same and what they have done to improve the Camera and the sensitivity of the phone as well any other issues that you may have that fixed your phone.
Thanks

Some of the fakes report firmware N9006ZCUBMI3, so you really need to read this:

Hi guys,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 i9508 from China Mobile (gift), that is constantly rebooting.
I have recently received a replacement battery for it from Samsung under warranty. I have tried various different roms as I thought it could be rom related, but the problem continues to remain the same. I was hoping it would be fixed with a new battery as I have seen similar posts around this issue.
Given that it still reboots when trying multiple different roms (namely Omega Droid KK variants currently i9505 v34), I now suspect it to be hw related instead. Has anyone else also experienced this problem or have any suggestions on what else I may be able to try please?
This is a great forum and I look fwd (hopefullly), to a solution being found. Keep up the good work guys!
Regards,
Jason Melb, Australia.
Hello everybody! !
My s5 is a European one bought naked.
Two days ago I updated it via ota to Android lollipop.
The probleme is the update seems to be uncomplete .
For example, I can't define notifications as sensible, i can only choose for a, application to display notifications or not.
I can't pin an application.
The camera api is still the same.
material design is not everywhere.
He only new thing on my device is the lack of the silent mode, and a bit of material design.
I did not find anybody else having this issue and really don't know what's happening.
In device properties it says I'm on android 5.0
Any idea?
