To keep it short:
1. The international version of MT7-TL10 still does not support FDD B4, aka AWS, NA specific LTE for T-Mobile, ATT, Verizon, etc.
2. There is no release date for NA, due to CPU. Hisilicon Kirin CPU is prohibited entering the NA market.
3. The international model MT7-L09 supports AWS network.
We will have no further news about Mate 7 for NA xda members in the future. If you are looking for L09, we can bring that to NA if you are interested in.
The most accurate resource to check the compatibility here:
FCC LTE Dashboard
I just wanted to make sure I understood, so you're saying the 3Gb RAM models will not work on the AWS bands?
The MT7-L09 only seems to the 2Gb model.
@H. Clarkson
We got the international MT7-TL10 already. that comes with the identical frequency bands as that of Chinese version.
It seems that only the L09 will work in NA.

Let me know if you guys ever have the L09 available. Also, do you charge tax and/or shipping to California? Thanks.

This is a special order we exclusively have from HUAWEI (it is not supposed to be sold in China). Since we are not positive how many USA and Canada xda members would order from us, we only book 5 units for the initial dispachment. The Obsidain Black unit (only one unit) has already been booked by a xda developer member here. The Moonlight Silver unit is ready to be booked. The shipment will arrive at our store on Tuesday and we can ship it on Wednesday. If you are a T-Mobile user, L09 is ready to fly! If you are a ATT user, it is fine as well, we think, since it covers AWS LTE.
Our business is based in China and therefore foreign buyers do not pay sales tax to our Government. The special price in our store is set for USA and Canada members, DHL Express included. It takes no more than 4 business days to arrive at USA.
What is the difference between L09 and L10? Thanks.

2 vs 3 GB RAM and 16 vs. 32 GB ROM. The RAM makes a difference for heavy users, and L10 will soon support two independent Android systems.
So another 5 units (all black) are arriving this Friday.
mate 7 from amazon US legit?
This 3rd party seller is selling on Amazon US and claims LTE should work on AT&T with these LTE bands:
LTE FDD Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20/28 (Aphase) LTE TDD Band 40 UMTS 850/900/1900/2100/AWS MHZ .
Is this legit? If phone does have these bands, does that mean it should work on Tmobile USA also?

The fact that you don't have to deal with customs and the high shipping rates is enough for me.. I ordered one today and will have it Wednesday.. If it doesn't work with at&t lte I'll send it back.. $549 flat is a chance I'll take..

We have refunded you the full amount.
@l81tlons If that third party seller labels the model (for instance, L09) that will clear the question you have. From what we see on their page, we guess that is L09. That is a "small family owned" (their own description) company but that worth a try if you get the Amazon protection.
We just want to mention that, if any business company is to bring over 20+ phones to USA for commercial sales, a commercial importation tax is unavoidable and that company has to voluntarily report to USA customs. At that price offered from that third party seller, we can only think the commercial importation tax is avoided by some "unconventional" means, of which we cannot do and will not do in the future. Please forgive us for the "high", or regular, price. We run legal business for over 14 years.
For ATT network, if you consider HSPA+ as a part of LTE, yes you will get it. However, it depends on the region, and in some regions, you get full LTE and in some, drop to HSPA+, which is still fast. Give that third party seller a minute, not returning the phone if you cannot receive LTE in your region. We have sort of sympathy for them.
If USA and Canada xda members have further questions, please leave your comments here and @ us. We will check and answer periodically.
Have a nice day everyone here!

I'm planning on using this phone on Wind Mobile here in Canada (if I can decide between this and another phone).
Wind Mobile runs on UMTS IV frequency band (HSPA/HSPA+ AWS frequency 1700/2100). But if this phone runs on T-Mobile then it's guaranteed to run on Wind also.
I'm also seeing one seller on Amazon Canada but it's only for the 16GB MT7-UL00.
Will I get "4G" with any model, or is this phone bound to 3G on the AWS band? If the better model you're offering can do 4G here then I'm interested in a 32GB ROM/3GB RAM version also, but I won't be buying one for a couple weeks yet, have to sell my Note3. Cheers!

We have sold an unit to Canada, and it is guaranteed to work with LTE there.
If it is UL00, it does NOT support LTE, even 3G, in Canada. You have to buy the L09 model, L09 we repeat. You can purchase from us (readily available) or from Amazon USA, whichever you trust and/or more convenient for you.
We had the international TL10 (3/32) but it does not support AWS. Therefore, if you are to purchase a fully functional Mate 7, then L09 model is the only choice for you.
The Amazon seller posted above does list the device as the L09. I lost interest for a while because Huawei couldn't seem to get their act together and actually sell the phone. But that is a good price from that Amazon seller, so I may just pull the trigger.

I noticed the Verizon S3 has a mini-SIM port.. but why? I thought Verizon phones don't have SIM cards at all?
Also, is it true that the AT&T model doesn't have a SIM card port at all? How is it activated then?
Also, the T-mobile model apparently has calling-over-WiFi (uma). Does that only work on t-mobile's network or will it work overseas too?
The micro sim port is for Verizon lte. Tmobiles is also a micro sim, and I think you still have to be connected to Tmobiles network to use wifi calling. Don't know about att.

The one on the left is probably SPRINT, as they've been hard-embedding the LTE SIM card into the device to bastardize it (they're doing it with all phones).
The right is probably AT&T/TMO.

Well, the internal chipset has GSM support. You wouldn't be able to change the SIM card, I believe. You'd be stuck on VZW's expensive international roaming plans.
But for global roaming it'd only support 800 Mhz and 1900 Mhz bands, unless Verizon had them add the extra hardware.
The AT&T version uses the same frequencies as the international version.
Side by side comparison i747 and i9300
I travel quite a bit outside of the US for work, and for international travel, your best bet is the ATT version since GSM will give you the most options outside of the North America. As mentioned, Verizon may be offering some limited compatibility, but you will be stuck to their plan, whereas the ATT version (esp if unlocked) will allow you to swap chips in other countries as desired.
I say ATT because band-wise it has the most international compatible ones, and the 2100 band will help in regions like Japan and Korea that don't use standard GSM.
TMo is probably the second choice, but because they use bands like 1700 that no one else really uses, you're still better off with ATT.
The CDMA versions would be the last ones (Verizon and Sprint) since their roaming will be limited.
This is assuming you are picking from the US versions - for Canadian models, just find the carrier that matches ATT (I believe Rogers is the closest).
I'm starting to think I should just get the international version.

Is your home base in the US? Are you on an LTE network? Not sure if international version works with LTE. One reason why we have a different processor in our US phones because of LTE. A South Korean model (international version) will have LTE support but I don't know if its available.
GSM is your best bet if you live in the US. ATT or TMo. Verizon's international roaming is quite expensive.

I would go with the at&t one if you were to choose a us version. Personally if I had to pick I would just go with the international version if that where the case. I wanna see what the quadcore can do in a phone and personally I'm fine running hspa. I currently have no LTE were I'm at anyway. I have to drive like an hour to Baton Rouge for a taste lol.
By the way.... Tmobile wifi calling works anywhere there is wifi..
If you are overseas and you make a phone call back to the usa using wifi calling... Its free.. Its considered a usa to usa call....

Was just about to say this. I think you can also add an international long distance plan for a small fee (that way you can also call israeli numbers), which would make the phone work well anywhere you have wifi, then just get a prepaid sim to use while on the go. Just an idea tho.
I was only considering buying the phone here in the states and using it back home in israel with my regular carrier (Cellcom). Will the t-mobile S3 support calling-over-wifi even if I'm not on t-mobile's network?

I wonder what reason Telus, Fido, Virgin and Wind. will give for not carrying it probably moving to Iphone only
Fido and Virgin doesn't release HTC flagships as well because these are low end subsidiaries of Rogers and Bell. Wind is a very different story as it's AWS and not every OEM supports it.
So Samsung and iPhones are the favorites among all.

So i suspect that the Canadians variant will be the same since at&t have generally the same device than rogers and bell....anyway we'll see...i'm on a decision if i will pull the trigger or not....

the problem with the d-855 (international version) is that you will not be able to catch the lte network on att wich mean on robellus will be the same....sure it has the 700 frequency but not on the 17 band...IMO when your paying 600/700.00 for a phone like the g3, its a must to have LTE on it.....this is why you should wait for the Canadians variant or simply buy the at&t versions, wich gonna be the same..however the Canadians carrier don't have the bad habit to put their ugly logo on their phone wich is nice

I suspect it will indeed work on VZW, all 3 models have the same modelid (ATT, TMO, VZW)...
Jeff Gordon pretty much confirmed it...https://twitter.com/urbanstrata/status/719949958166786048?s=15
I see it as the same situation as the 6P. Verizon didnt "officially certify" it for their network, but since it had the correct bands it worked with an already activated sim card.
I preordered an unlocked HTC 10 and plan on popping in my 6p VZW sim card.
Now does it matter that HTC site lists the 850 frequency (which verizon uses for their 3g) under 2G/2.5G - GSM/GPRS/EDGE?
I am wondering the same my friend..it will be a must buy it so and I can use it on any carrier at anytime! It's probably too good to be true though all of ever heard is how Verizon is very strict on what phones they will let on their network ? If I have to get the Verizon version, then I will have to wait on bootloader unlock before purchase Crossing fingers
MoNsTeReNeRgY22, Post back once you get the phone and pop in your sim.... The sim from my iPhone 6Plus should work to I would guess?
Verizon is less strict than you think. They're picky about the phones they certify and sell, but if a phone has the right radios, you can usually get it to work on V by just inserting a pre-activated SIM.
I've heard a rumor that Verizon will be getting an exclusive launch ahead of the US competition with this phone. It'd be nice if the unlocked model is the same. Perhaps they'll put some software locking that we can easily circumnavigate? Being able to travel with my M8 and pop in a local GSM SIM has been a huge benefit.
So it's not looking good. Android Police in their quick write up tried a already activated VZW sim and it was a no go.

Yeah I suspect so, If it does indeed work on Verizon, Im sure Verizon dosent want them advertising it. My only fear is when I receive it, it does work, but if I am out of ranfe for LTE and it has to drop down to 3G, will it work.. I guess we shall see!? I did see that HTC has a 14 day return policy. If I cant get it to work in the 14 days, then I will just wait for a bootloader unlock for the Verizon model. Anyone thats up to date and knows the 3G and LTE bads real well? And according to Wireless Carrier Cheat Sheet, the unlocked version supports Verizon CDMA ( CDMA: 800/1900 with EVDO Rev A). I screenshotted the supported bands of the unlocked HTC 10, the VZW HTC M9 and and VZW LG G5. All support the same bands (CDMA included). I circled the same CDMA bands for reference (Ignore my crude paint skills).

A guy linked this to me: http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_10_goes_by_fcc_ahead_of_announcement-news-17569.php
It shows 2 separate models 2PS6200 and 2PS6500
Hopefully this is not one of them being GSM, and the other being the CDMA model?

Even if there are separate models, does it matter since the tech specs for the unlocked variant list all the bands we need anyways?

Yeah thats the way it certainly seems. Someone pointed out though that it could be showing the bands for both models as a whole.... It does not sound convincing, but something to think about.

2PS620000 is for Europe, that article may be wrong about it hitting the FCC...doesn't make sense
2PS650000 is for US GSM (ATT & TMO) & VZW
Sprint will have a different modelid...

TASTY!
Read the whole thread and it looks like the unlocked HTC 10 might work on Verizon. Great news. I DON'T WANT VERIZON BRANDED DEVICE EVER AGAIN. I looked at the specs on the website and saw LTE bands 3,4,13 which is what Verizon uses AFAIK. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Whoever ordered the device please update us as soon as you get your device.
Thank you

I am opening this thread with the intention of enabling a discussion among the North American users (current/prospective).
It appears that Note 3 Pro (Snapdragon variant) is the logical choice for north american user, as it includes few of the 4G bands.
So, how is the network experience with the major cell phone carriers? Which firmware/rom includes those bands? AOSP/Global/China? Does VOLTE work?
I have been using the RN3P for the last couple weeks. I am in the Florida area in T-Mobile network, and really happy to see that I get 4G LTE most of the time. It's the band 4 according to the LTE Discovery app.
I have tried a bunch of different roms, including global stable, aosp and developer beta. I have observed that the network is much better with the developer MM roms. I am currently using the Epic ROM based on the developer rom, and I think I shall use it as my daily driver.

Connected to LTE with Rogers and Koodo (Telus Band 4 AWS). I ordered the china model which shouldn't have included Band 4 (if you believe the information on all the china sellers sites), and confirmed it's not Kate model as it is only 150mm tall.

That's good to know. There are so many variants of this device, it's really confusing. I ordered mine from Gearbest last week, who knows when it will show up. The problem with these Chinese retailers is that sometime they themselves don't know what they have. I guess I have to see what I get. I just hope that mine also supports band 4, which T-mobile in USA also uses.
Are you still using China firmware? Does the china model come with Google Playstore?
http://willmyphonework.net/
most networks will work on the note 3 Snapdragon version (kenzo).
the Kate or aka Note 3 Special Edition model supports a additional 'band 20' which afaik is not used in the USA (someone confirm?)
the Mediatek note 3 Hennessy most likely doesn't have good usa network support
so make sure you get the kenzo or kate model, though I would stick with kenzo since the kate doesn't have as good of support or accessories

Mine came with Global 8.0.1.0 installed, prerooted, and unofficial bootloader unlock. I flashed official 8.0.1.0 global from tgz file, which then relocked the bootloader. I have done the official unlock with the same 8.0.1.0 official stable with no problems.
It came with Google Playstore, and some gapps (not all).
Anyone tried AOSP roms in north america? Does it also get the lte coverage?
I have heard privacy concerns from many people MIUI roms. May be rumors, may be not. But I don't wanna take the risk.
Can anyone compare the performance between MIUI and AOSP roms?

I have seen a video on youtube where he compared it with a iphone speed, and it got around 100mbps (the iphone beat it by a few mbps) , but it's definitely capable of fast speeds, though it probably depends on the network / bands, single strength and local isp speeds...

I have on hand experience with Umi Super. Which carrier you are on? With T-mobile Umi Super had really poor data connection. Barely got 3g, I couldn't even stream a YouTube video. I don't think it has any north american band. It's a decent phone for the price, but do your research first.
In Florida with T-Mobile network, using band 4.
I recommend changing the default apn settings to fast.t-mobile.com one, which better result for me.

I guess no one is going to buy.
I guess it too early to ask but does anyone know if the antenna and band situation is like iPhone where is its the same globally or are they dissecting and shipping limited antenna bands based on regions.. reason i ask is if its global then i can buy it from US without worrying about network and LTE support here in India.
It's the same globally.. for the 1st time.... And it's got all the bands that iPhone 7....
Sent from my Nexus 6P using XDA-Developers mobile app
I'll buy it if Flipkart has similar cashback offers as they have for the iPhone. If I can get 10k cashback on this, I'll go for it. Otherwise, probably the HTC 10 for me.
I think will have to check the reviews and in-hand experience to judge whether it deserves such a premium price.
57k is stupidly expensive. I'm hoping Flipkart will give some good cash back or other offer. That's the only way I'm buying it.

Google has made its own image as iGoogle. I m Google fan boy, had nexus 4 and now nexus 5. Its running on 7.0 . And I was just planning to upgrade to Pixel as 649$ equals to ₹43000 around but now flipkart says ₹57k!!
Now All I get is an aluminum body & camera with UL storage.
Rest OS is gonna same. In dilemma now.
Update: Flipkart says delivery by 14th. Still no offers
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
Isnt it going to ship from the 20th in the US? I would be very surprised if India got it before... That flipkart thing is probably just a placeholder.

But, it's not the same globally. The bands are similar, but there are 2 different release models depending on country of purchase.

Did they send you the Flipkart voucher? What's the valdity of the voucher? 1 year? I'm thinking of getting it but I'm worried about the battery, display and the lack of space.
Not going to upgrade from my 6P unless the price goes down to 40s and if the reviews are good.
Upgrade from nexus 5 or wait it out?
I'm thinking of upgrading my Nexus 5. But the pricing seems a little out of my reach, should I wait another year or go for Nexus 6p?
