I'd try latest from a UK tw rom first. Have you had issues. BTW I'm using lte now.. Works fine. High battery drain on gpe when no signal though. Unsure if modem related.

It's phone related. Has been like that since day one for Android. Priority #1 is to restore signal and connect to carrier if lost.

Didn't notice it so bad with tw. However since this is work I can't change signal, but I do use tasker now to switch off cell whilst connected to WiFi in the office. I use three in touch which delivers calls and texts in /out over WiFi so no functionality lost

Also having issues flashing the newer modem with mobile Odin pro 4.20 and no access to laptop either any help would be very welcome

KG3 modem. Issues adios!

XG3 modem. Finally a modem that seems TO fix all issues like data connection lost, 3g,h,h+ troubles, modem hang up while calling with low signal and many other.
In the past, looking a webpage or using xda app was always return, retry, return, until the page was loaded fully.
Now seems to be zero latency modem.
I must test if the modem will prefer 2g in low reception or if will try instead to keep 3g I'f data connections are required.
What do you think about this modem?

Have to agree with kawa636r , it is the best modem out so far. KG3 performs flawlessly in Telstra NextG network compared to previous versions where data connection was lost.

i thinks its time to upgrade to KG3 and find out!!
Thank God, I live in Italy too finally a modem that made my phone usable to call and to navigate. I've got the Desire Hd before and my data connection was perfect, with Sgs it was a bit disappointing, now it's better.
I have H3G italy as carrier
This is great news!!! My only gripe was the poor wifi signal. Anyone know if that's improved too. I am going to test myself but i have 6 hours remaining on the download. Wish it'd hurry up!!!!
Just wanted to report that the kg3 modem seems to have fixed my problems, as well, and I'm in the Philippines on Smart telecom. Now if only I could fix the carrier itself, somehow...
What ROM's and kernels are you guys running with the new KG3 modem ??
I'm on VR2.1 with Ninphetamine-2.0.1 kernel, currently on KG2 modem.
Not having any major issues, just some drain on one of my exchange apps.
can anyone post a lik to the kg3 modem please

I've just tried the DarkyROM KG3 and i'm still having wifi issues.
Mind you the kernel is KF3. Anyone know how to check the modem? My baseband and build are both KG3.

Cheers!!! Wifi still not fixed then cos i'm on the KG3 modem.
What exactly is your problem with wifi? If it's low signal strength, I think that's just the GS2 under-reporting the connection strength. Even when it says I have only 1-2 bars of wifi signal, the connection is still fast.
Modem has nothing to do with WiFi signal. That's in the PDA part of the firmware. It will only affect 2G/3G/3G+ strenght and call reception.
That's something I've learned on XDA when I had the first Galaxy S.

[Q]Wi-Fi problems on Nexus 7 16gb

Hi Guys
I'm having trouble with my Wi-Fi on the Nexus 7 (No router problem, all other devices work fine!)
Since i switched to another router, the Wi-Fi signal breaks every few minutes.
My router is a "Speedport W 723v Type B" (i don't think this information will help you though).
Please help me
Thanks

Can you try changing the router channel? It is possible the nexus 7 won't pick up some channels so well. Also, make sure you are using a reliable ROM, with a clean install. Even though it worked on your old router, a bug might stop it working on the new one so well.
If none of the above works, try backing up your tablet and performing a full wipe? But only as a last resort, wait to see what other people say first
I was having trouble with wifi yesterday. But i fixed it by flashing a rom. Did you wipe you system, because thats why it wasnt working for me.

How to flash COD modem

You can dowload the COD modem
On Mocsab’s thread found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...10tuvu1cod6-modem-stock-kernel-stock-t3094994
and flash it through odin
Here are some instructions:
Preface:
For what we are doing here you just want the modem.bin file.
1. Download the COD modem.bin file.
2. Open up odin and uncheck auto reboot.
3. Click on phone, select the modem.bin file, and press start.
4. When you finish the flash. Pull the battery and put it back in and power up.
PS.
I used odin 3.0.4, but this probably works with all versions of odin.
Might not be as important as before, but it was for my current setup.
I'm on Infamous BOC rom and 3.6 Bioshock kernel, but was still running ank modem.
Now I've got COD modem.
can we use the new modem with KK roms ?
Yes

Thanks for confirming this :good:
Any noticeable difference in the COD modem on KitKat base as of yet?
Phone calls are better.
Just tried this with firekat v11x. Better phone calls, better data.
They do work on that at Samsung.
Called my dad and everything.

Is this step necessary? I did a CP flash & simply let phone reboot itself and checked baseband which now ends in COD6
No. Not necessary. Just used to be a thing.

Firekat can make your phone shoot rainbows as well. Little too soon to say don't you think?
You don't have to use the new modem if you don't want to.
It does work (and well) with kk.
That's what K2 was posting about.
I'll be using it on lollipop firekat!
4 bars where there was 1 maybe 2 before.
Infamous Boc rom.

Hehehehe! I know... Just a little joke Using it myself(new baseband). So far nothing different but as I mentioned in the other modem thread it might be better, worse, or not even noticeable. We shall see if there are any improvements or disadvantages over time. Just a little too soon to tell especially after just one phone call. I did a few tests myself with all radio related usages and everything works well like on MK7. I live and work near cell towers so I haven't seen anything noticeable yet. One thing good I can say for sure(past experiences since Windows Mobile 5) is sometimes call handoffs are improved with newer versions and sometimes the signal is faster to relay on the handset ui giving a more accurate signal display. Those are all things to look for. Now all we need is xposed running

I seem to be getting better signal and faster Lte. At work I used to get anywhere from 6-10mbps up/down, now am getting close to 20mbps up/down. Just updated to poprocks v1, was on firelated v11x before. Could be the modem update or maybe tmo upgraded their towers here??

Could check and see if wideband was added in your area recently. There are a few links around for checking what band is available in your area. Service mode and phone info app can do those. Sounds like a happy coincidence! I doubt a modem updates gonna double your speeds lol! Enjoy your tower upgrades. I've seen a few new towers around my town pull 60Mbps down but average for me is 30-40. Depends how far away you are as well. Maybe they added a repeater or new tower close by your work?
so when I put in the bin and hit start. Nothing happens? Anyone know why?

Signal issues

For whatever reason I have signal problems when running ViperOne. Everything is fine except for that. After some testing it seems it kills my upload after a little while, and I have to toggle Airplane mode to restore connection (download seems to be unaffected). When on stock or bad boyz signal is rock solid. I guess my question is if I flash Viper and then flash the stock radio would that fix it? I'm guessing it has something to do with Viper being based on the international ROM but I have no idea. It's been an issue on every single version.
I've had a similar issue where if I'm on LTE Band 41, I lose up and down data. If it falls back on Bands 25 and 26, it's fine. If I'm on stock or the Bad Boyz ROM, then I don't encounter the issue. However, if I flash Viper10 or LeeDrOiD, I lose access to Band 41. Unfortunately, I haven't chased the issue since I've had little time to research and pick the ROM makers' brains. For now, I'm using the Bad Boyz ROM since Band 41 works...

Also, BadBoyz doesnt seem to be compatible with Sprint at least it says its not.

No, I tried once more and gave up. Not sure what you mean about Bad Boyz, it's been available since the beginning and is based on the Sprint base. I've been using it since and it's been nothing but rock solid. It's available in the Roms section of the forum...
I didn't know BB had. Sprint only ROM... So you get better data and radio on it.? Are you in a big city area.?

Yes, since switching to BB I have zero data issues. I'm in both city and suburban areas daily, with varying signal strength. He just updated the rom to 2.6 and I've been running it with no problems for about 3 days after doing a fresh install from an RUU

Viper has more features overall, but BB has the essentials like hotspot, flashlight shortcut, etc. Only thing I really miss is long press home to turn off screen. Give it a shot.

Mobile data fluctuations

So I got my max pro m1(32 GB) today. Everything is working well. Updated to latest firmware but there is a problem of data connection fluctuations. It's fluctuating regularly and hence I'm getting a slow downloading speed and random disconnections in online games. Any fix for this? Btw I'm using Airtel 4g. Any help will be appreciated.

My internet also fluctuates a lot. I also can't play games.

You are Wrong.
If u lock into Single LTE band the network won't change back and forth between bands(which is the real issue of zmxprom1).
NetWork Signal Guru App is the Saviour for ZMXPro1 owners*.
