I just got my Gear S yesterday. As big as it looks and is it doesn't feel big on my wrist. I guess it would if you have tiny wrists. It feels like any other watch. Imo.

It's awesome! I get about 2 days of battery life. Links flawlessly with the Note4. I love the auto-call forwarding when the 2 are not paired. Best smart watch I've ever had or seen! (I have tried the Omate, Gear2, Kreyos)
Nice...I'm going for the zenwatch...cheeper and has wayyyyyy more apps
I'm impressed with the design of the Gear S and it looks just as good if not better then the 360. Imo. The curved screen helps keep the thickness size down.
I'm really liking the Gear S. I had a Pebble smart watch before, but I have decided to sell it after using the Gear S. I wrote a review of how the Gear S benefits my daily life.

holy sheet, that thing is HUGE!!!
did you compare it to the gear 2 neo? mine looks tiny compared to that..
how much is it? does it need its own "plan", or does it work without one?

That's what she said. LoL. I like the big screens that's why I have it and the Note 4. Da. Hehe. Yes you need your own plan because it has a sim and a number. Obviously it has it's pros and cons like any other gadget but I bought it because I liked the design a lot. People say that it's huge but like I said it doesn't feel huge when it's on because of the curve. I'm pretty sure the 360 and LG G watch R are thicker. I'm happy with it so far.
[email protected] what she said...
I guess I need to go to a tmo store and check it out; I really like my gear 2 neo, so I am a smart watch proponent now; I just cant decide if its worth the extra $$$ over my gear 2 neo...
is there only one color at t mobile?
if you buy it, and hate it, is it a 50 dollar charge to return it like a phone?
was it easy to set up forwarding from your phone number to your watch phone number?
I should look for a link to the owners manual and check it out..

How much was it dude? It is payday lol getting that gta 5 on ps4
It's $350 at T-Mobile and I just financed it so the wife won't yell at all at once. LoL. Only black but you can change the band when available. Yes it's pricey but pretty sure it's the only one with a sim. I was going to wait and see if it drops for the holiday but oh well. Christmas is early for me. Hehe. Oh I'm pretty sure Verizon doesn't even have the sim in the phone. Stupid Verizon. LoL
Whoa lol that is bro.
I'm just curious if it's worth it or just a gadget. Nothing wrong with gadgetry, but at $350 I want to get some benefit from it.
You said it alratld. Idk about spending that on a watch my phone does all of that PLUS more. That's why a simple moto 360 or better yet the zenwatch at $200 will be worth it... @ 350 I can see why it's expensive . It's A PHONE. That's what I love about it, what I don't is that is powered by tizen instead of the almighty ANDROID. Thus why I went for the zenwatch.
Loving mine!
i gotts get to Tmobile and compare this thing next to my gear 2 neo..

I said the same thing with tablets but had to try one. After a few months I sold my Nexus 7. I prefer my phablet since I can type a lot quicker on it then a tablet plus it can still fit in my pocket. I didn't think I would ever get a smartwatch but after seeing the Gear S I had to try it. I'll decide after 14 days if it's a keeper or not but you have to pay to play for good stuff. lol

My T-Mobile stores just had a demo but no stock. I had to order it and the manager said he would take care of the $25 overnight shipping. I'll have to check my bill since he was going to credit me. I just had to pay $53 and change. I did see that I'm being charged $15 a month to finance it. It says on the website $14.58 a month and $5 for the line so I need to find out about that as well. If I keep it I'll probably pay it off in a month or two.
I bought it out right on AT&T for 299 off contract. Tmobile wanted 349 Verizon wanted 399 so they all do the same thing so went with the 299 version.
This device is stuffing the megillah. $350....I rather carry a nexus 5
Sent from my SHIELD Tablet using Tapatalk
I look at it this way. I haven't bought a nice watch in awhile so why not. LoL. I have a Note 4 and have no need for a Nexus 5 or any other phone.
agree; if you are into nice watches, and I know I am, then this is actually a bargain.
I have several "normal" watches, including an Omega Seamaster, so, to me, these smart watches are a natural addition to that..

Now that i have my note 10.1 , i cant wait to get my hands on the note 2. Anyone on the same boat as me?
I have the Note which is now replaced by the 10.1.
No intention to get Note 2
Did not get used to the phablet form factor, was a bigger SGS II for me, good for navigation apps road, air and water but not more .....
Maybe cause if my fat fingers
Now that I have been playing with much SGN10 I can't get over how tiny the screen on my SGS2 phone seems. 7 inch tables seem like postage stamps.

if it comes on sprint i'll pick one up to replace the epic touch 4g. i won't get it on verizon til it show up cheap on ebay since i don't wanna screw up my unlimited data:laugh:
I may. I have a Teg3 One X that I like a lot but being able to start projects on the Note II and finish them on the Note 10.1 is appealing. Or having ideas for a project underway on the Note 10.1 and jotting them down to be included via the Note II. Holding something that size to my head for phone calls isn't that appealing nor is walking around like Uhura from Star Trek with a BT headset stuck in my ear all the time. The fact that it's narrower and the rounded edges make it look smaller than it is (especially in white) has me considering it. I never would have considered the Note I because of its form factor. Typically when I "consider" a device I end up rationalizing myself in to buying it.
Hot dang! Looking forward to GN 10.1 getting these features. Plan to pick up a GN II too since I'm way overdue for a phone upgrade.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DcgZum8M1o
My biggest issue with the GN 10.1 is that I keep reaching for a stylus with my phone...
That said, I think the Note 2 is a bit too big for me. Even my Nexus S is too big to be really pocketable except on a few pairs of pants.
As an aside: has anyone noticed how inconsistent the reviews seem to be? When the GN 10.1 came out, it got slammed. Note 2: The internets seem excited. I don't get it.

holy shooot! i've changed my mind on getting the note 2 any time soon - $700 off contract! i can get another gn 10.1 AND a nexus 7 for that price.
wtf is wrong with cell phone prices in america. if the gn 10.1 costs ~$200 to make i wouldn't think the gn2 would cost so much more that it would justify a $300 premium.
anyways, i don't really need a new phone and i don't like being on contract. the sticker shock has just made me not want one now - at least not new and not this year.

on my country The galaxy note 2 costs 550$ at same price Tag as Note 10.1 3g but I picked the 10.1 bec I love tablet interface , you can get the 10.1 + any secondary 12$ phone as a backub phone as the 10.1 acts also as a phone

$550 still a lot, but more resonable. i'd sell my gsII to recoup some of it. at $700 i'd still be paying more than i'd pay for a tablet even if i sold the old phone.
In India it costs around 37000 Rs thats around 685 dollars and I paid around 625 $ preferred tab over note 2 because i needed something to replace my laptop while travelling and not something to replace my cell and tablet
so it's a worldwide rip off, lol.
On T-Mobile with contract it's $360 dollars. Looks like I'll be getting a Nexus

The screen is awesome, and so are the specs..However, I am on two wheels 90% of the time. Size and weight are biggies with me.
Right now I am still within my return period on my GN 2014, along with my tax refund to take up the difference. I was going to snatch the 64gb one... But, after looking at the size, compared it to my 10.1, it is just too much..I travel very light on two wheels. Either on motorcycle or bicycle, space is premium.
Now, if they came with another 10.1 pro, I be on it, especially since I am in my return window..
Again, this thing is too big..

I think the weight doesn't matter and as long as u have a nice bag for it neither does size I don't think I ever heard someone saying hey I wish my tablet was 100g lighter plus the screen size just makes up for all of this

...
First impressions
Well, I've had my 32gb WiFi Galaxy Note Pro for 2 days now.
The screen is superb. I absolutely love it.
The size looks much larger than expected, in terms of feel, than my Note 10.1 2014 - a huge difference when watching video.
I have experienced no lag at all.
The TouchWiz UX is OK - but the magazine home screen I cannot get on with. The content is too restrictive and doesn't cover my interests. Also, you cannot remove the Magazine screen - grrrr!
Also have a problem writing to the micro SDCard - see my other post.
Still early days yet but a general 'thumbs up' from me.
Yes, I really want this, but first things first.
- I need to be able to sell my Nexus 10 for a decent price before I can buy this.
- I'll not be an early adopter/unpaid beta tester. I want lots of reviews (both pro and amateur) before I make a commitment.
- I suspect this tablet will be huge with the custom ROM community. I'll wait until there's some solid ROM development going on.

I've always found the 10" tablets too small to be really useful, in particular since I've almost always had a large phone with me. Currently the GN3. 10" was too big to carry in a pocket and too small to be useful on the go. So if I'm going to have to carry it in a bag/case, might as well go with a moderately larger screen size. But not too big so as to become heavy and bulky if I want to use it on a plane, vehicle, or even couch.
With this form factor, I'm hoping it'll fit right in between my 5.7" phone and 15" notebook, depending on where I'm going and what I want to do.
Mine gets here Friday. Yay.

This tablet is simply amazing. The extra screen real estate makes it so much more useful. Makes you really wonder why no one else tried a larger display the last three years.

Not noticeably.
Only minor annoying thing is that some elements are just to large for this display, but that's a general Android thing. I'm afraid I gonna need to tweak the density (like it's done in the good old days).
Hope it will get rooted soon so we can run custom roms bye bye UX
Almost $840 after shipping and tax from Best Buy in the States. I may be a fool for spending nearly a thousand dollars on a tablet, but at least I know I'm not the only one. .. looking forward to getting my hands on it!

I know this means Moto X+1 is coming soon, but I still think its a great deal for great phone.
I bought the N4 to try out Android L, then I got OnePlus and now a second Moto X. I am spending way too much. Need to start clearing out stuff.
PS. It could be a temporary bug, but with the combination of woodback and 64gb, it goes down to $300, otherwise it's higher.

HOLY FLIPPIN' S#!T
Serious thanks on spotting this. I just did the fastest impulse buy ever and bought the exact phone I sent back during the penny trial that was too expensive. $324 out the door with CA tax for a 64GB bamboo, that is an insane deal on a great phone. Now I can give my N4 a well deserved break and not feel obligated to buy the X+1 on launch day. At this price the X is a no-brainer if you need a holdover until whatever comes out in the fall.

Well considering it is a pricing error, I wouldn't celebrate yet, but it's worth a try. They already charged my card so it's looking good though.
According to some guy who have a friend who is testing the X+1, ius supposed to have 5.2" 1080p in a compact body, OIS camera and 3GB ram and more software features. And will retail at $450. All speculation though. I could sell my OPO at that point to fund for it.

My card has been charged as well, although I'm fully expecting it to be canceled in the morning. I'd much rather wait to buy a new phone in November once all the new stuff is out, but my overheating N4 might have other ideas about lasting that long. It's times like this that I wish I had kept my old Photon as a backup, even if it was marooned on gingerbread.
I just ordered one. We'll see.

I got my new nexus 6 and im very disappointed and let down. At first I thought it was going to be better than the note 4 but it really isn't. Does not feel premium at all, instead it feels cheap, kinda like samsung phones. The blue color that tmobile offers is really ugly, like seriously, midnight blue? Aside from the fact that it has a big screen, it does not offer absolutely nothing, it has zero features to take advantage of the big screen. It doesn't have phablet features to help with the size. The screen is a huge let down it is not even a joke. The iphone 6 has a better screen. The speakers aren't loud but the sound is clear. The camera still blows as usual. I can't believe Google hasn't done anything to improve it. I can't comment on the battery just yet but I'm thinking that it would suck. The ambient display will suck the living out of it. Having said all that, I'm torn to pieces. I'm returning it tomorrow

Uh OK. You obviously don't have the phone. One thing about the x14 and n6 is they feel very premium. Almost wish they were a little more light and less premium as it comes across slippery. Very well made phones. Now move on....

Saw it at T-Mobile store today. Definitely does not feel premium. I'd say the In quality and styling it would be The Note 4 in first place, then the IPhone 6 Plus, then last the Nexus 6. The matte back is a greasy fingerprint magnet like a previous phone I had the Moto G. The screen does look pretty nice and the speakers on the front do sound good and loud. But I'll be sticking with my IPhone 6 Plus.

Cool story, bro.
Give it 3-4 weeks and we'll weed out all the people who pre-ordered just because it was hyped.
I don't like metal phone such as htc one m8 I had for 6-7 month and I really was scared to drop it or scratch it. Plastic phones forever for me. So I not worried about how the phone feels. I am going to get the N6 no matter what

Yup. This is pretty common with every new device release. Within the first month, threads usually pop up stating how they're disappointed with x device and thinking about going back to the phone they already owned or moving onto another.

This!
For those new to XDA, it has been known that once a hot new device hits the market, XDA will be flooded with opinions, assumptions, and disappointments....it never gets old.
Move on people.
Call bullsh!t without pictures. Sounds like a troll from the start.
While its perfectly fine to be disappointed with a phone and want to tell people about it, there is a much better way to do so then what was posted in the OP. Perhaps a constructive breakdown and examples of what is disappointing? The way the OP is laid out, it will only start issues.

Sadly, I had to return it today.
I loved it with all my heart but I barely used it and that didn't justify $426.
Maybe i'll try again next year.
Farewell
(I'll be at the Nexus 6 forum )
Applied for a return too. Loved the design and the hardware, but in actual use it does not justify the price tag.
Maybe I would have kept it if it was like $299, but converted to US dollars I paid around $500 for the 16GB in my current country. Not worth it by a longshot.
I returned mine. To HTC to fix the buttons and the light bleed issues. I was able to get the the 32GB version for 399 with 429 dollar price match at best buy from amazon, and 30 dollars worth of best buy certificates. I absolutely love the tablet, but if HTC doesn't fix the buttons and screen, I'll likely get a refund on it.
Your Loss!
I could see that. I got it for 250 and really enjoy it but don't think it is worth more than 350.

I wish I bought it while I had the money
I wanted to buy one but I ****ed up the notebook and I needed to replace it. Galaxy tab 2 for another year.

Sold because you barely use it or you think it's not worth it?

I barely used it so not using it wasn't worth paying that much
Bought and returned 3x looking for one with reasonable buttons and an acceptable amount of light bleed. To no avail. #3 is also going back, this time for good, until HTC gets some of these quality control issues in check.
It's a shame, because I really want to love this tablet. And I already sold my Nexus 7...
Nexus 9 alumni here also...switched to the ipad air 2 and enjoying this battery life

Yes, better battery, but I'm not so sure jb and/or apps running with jb haven't lowered it (iPad 3 ios8.1.1). I borrowed this iPad to try it since N9 quality is still a crap shoot. I love the display size and clarity. That's it. But, since having it for over a week, I scarcely pick up my N7 FHD (I hate the buttons on N7 so recessed buttons on N9 won't do--even using soft buttons). This iPad screen is much easier for me to read. JB was even simpler than with Nexus, but still not what I want. Personally, I think the N9 is about $80. overpriced, but I'll probably end up trying one ($50. off) before long.

My iPad's sit piled up with my iPhone 6 on top. I havent used them in about 2 months.. Don't have my nexus 9 or 6 yet so I can't actually compare. But I am not 75 and don't need to be in a walled garden of sorts (assisted living environment).. IOS is good for non technical people that don't want to really think. I just prefer the customization and unlock ability of android. Don't get me wrong I always stay current with both IOS & Android as they both make strides every OS revision.

I'm sure google will be okay. :good:
I got the N9 to replace my paperweight N7 first gen that I managed to hard bricked doing a factory reset, and the bootloader is borked. Anyway, before the N9, I used my MBP 15" but now N9 travels with me around my house perimeter.

I didn't want to play the lottery with Best Buy, so I sent mine back to HTC with specific instructions on what needed fixing. If they ship it back to me and it's not to my liking, I'll get a refund from Best Buy. I can live without the tablet for 7-10 days, and if they fix it, awesome.

Actually, good idea. If you wouldn't mind (and remember to) could you PM me when you get your tablet back. I'd be interested to know if they are able/willing to take care of the tablet's quality issues using this method.
