This is the 3rd time i format my phone and until i install wanam i have no issues, but when i do i always get bootloops. Whats happens is i install wanam and reboot to apply settings and then it boot normally, i see the lockscreen and the it turns off and boots directly to samsung letters and hangs there, could hang there for 5, 10, 20 minutes, then it boots back into the lockscreen and then hangs on samsung letters again. Tried clearing cache, nothing. I'm giving up on this wanam...anybody knows how to troubleshoot the issue?

yes, fakesystemstatus was the first thing i activated...i will try to reinstall everything and not touch that
Alright so i started theming, basically just changing a few colors here and there and the same issue happened once again! It hangs on Samsung letters
So the issue is with wanam, i've been running xposed and a few of its modules for the past couple days with no issues, but as soon as wanam goes on, things get problematic
I had both wanam and gravity box running for almost a week with no problem. Last night I thought there were quite a few overlapping settings and maybe I should just stop using one of those two modules. So I unticked wanam in the installer and rebooted.... WAH!! all hell broke loose and the phone just kept rebooting. It must be at least 10 times before it just stopped by itself and stayed on. I quickly went into xposed installer and uninstalled wanam. After that it didn't reboot itself any more. I'm just worried that something might be messed up and I'll need to wipe it clean. Let's hope that it won't be necessary.
So if you're trying to get rid of wanam after reading this thread, just be warned that what happened to me might happen to you too. Then if nothing works, you can always wipe and start again in recovery, stock or cwm.
I just need to mention gravity box here because it does most of what wanam can do and some more. There is even a mod to toggle flash led on the lock screen with the home key, instead of using the volume up key. Also most of the settings are activated without rebooting. Give it a try and you won't regret it.

GB is meant for AOSP-based roms - stock Android, or close to it - TouchWiz is definitely not that. Wanam is essentially the TW-equivalent of GB.
Well that's why I installed wanam first, then I read here someone was using it on his note3 and it works alright. So I tried it too and it's been problem free so far.

I have xblast toolls installed. Same problem here with bootloop after install.
I have 5 Modules installed and it seems there's a bootloop for every mod installed. I think it reboots after the mod is run and then moves on to the next mod. It eventually boots into lock screen and stays there but it can take a while...
I have 2 modules installled, wanam and greenify. Every time i change a setting in wanam and reboot, it get bootloop. Left it there for 2 hours yesterday and it never booted back in OS. Although i have found that clearing dalvik and cache maked it loop only once and then it boots back in OS

Strange. No issues here. I installed xposed, updated and then rebooted. Then played a lot with wanam, rebooted for like 10 times. No issues.

I have been having issues with "Context Service has stopped" force closes since rerooting my S5 on NCG and flashing to NE9 the other day. I have kept thinking I have found fix after fix, and finally last night I rebooted my phone a good 30 times in the process of figuring out what Xposed module was causing my problem, and I finally definitively found it: too many modules. If I download more than 7 Xposed modules, my phone automatically begins to get the Context Service FC as soon as the phone boots and after every call I make or receive. I am now using Greenify, the app that I thought was the root of the problem, without issue. I had Xposed Torch installed last night and it was working fine after several reboots. Then I tried to install another module, Xtoast, I had already tested to not be my issue. Sure enough, the addition of that eighth module, XToast, caused the Force close issue on reboot and it stayed on subsequent reboots. Uninstalled Xposed Torch and the issue is gone. Why would there be a 7 module limit to what I can install on Xposed without it giving me that error and is there anything I can do to fix it so I can load up the rest of the modules I typically run?
Interesting. I have nine modules going on my S4 w/ no problems.

OOPS ... I thought I was in the S5 forum ...
I think his point was that he is able to run 9 modules without trouble..... and just for the record, I'm running 10 on my s5 (verizon) without issue.... Try uninstalling exposed and then reinstall using wanam in the Playstore (most of your modules will still be on your phone when you reinstall exposed)... Goodluck

After rooting the Note 4 for the first time with the stock rom, all apps I try to install get stuck on the "Installing..." screen, even in the Play Store they do the same for upgrading apps. That happened shortly after I installed the Xposed Installer ( being that the last app I could install on my Note ).
As I am writting this, one of the apps jsut installed but it lasted 2 hours, I know it isnt any connection issues because Im triying to install apks already downloaded. Please some help, I'm new to Samsung phones coming from a Nexus 5 and I find this a little bit messy.
Thanks for your time.
Personally for me xposed caused more problems than it solved. That would be my first port of call.
It may be worth checking your security settings, they may also be blocking your installs.

This happened to me too in other samsung device. Try this:
- Go to SuperSU - Apps - Forget Wanam Xposed.
- Go to Wanam Xposed app and give new root perms and update it if you need it.
- Reboot your device and try to install new apps. I think you won't have more problems. Good luck :highfive:

hi ,
i agree with JagDave that it seems that it could only be Xposed Framework .I stated in other threads ,that Xposed does not "play nicely " with Note 4. It will either break "something/app " when installing/installed or uninstalling ..?.
I had Xposed break apps eg... S health ..Private mode ,lag or as what you described above ..not installing apps /stuck on installing.
I had to use " work arounds /fixes /patches" ....Wanam ( Secure storage ) and then my device( N910f Note 4,)was working 100%. ,but to me it is not worth it and I uninstalled it( then it broke my Google Play app on uninstalling ! ) ,
Further i noted the dev ( rovio89 of Xposed stated in "earlier " post )that he was not going to" update" Xposed re the Dalvik /Art ( Lollipop ) issue .?
If you look at at his last stable update for Xposed framework it has been "months " back . (No wonder it "breaks " apps ...it was last updated ,before Note 4 was released( and thus not " optimized" for Note4 ? )
I have Xposed installed on all my other " old " devices and working 100% and i am happy with Xposed Framework , but Note 4 ..? (no ) and i can understand the dev rovo89 " issue" if it is worthwile further developing re Dalvik ?
I would rather wait for the dev ,to enabled Xposed to work with Art and re install it then .?
Bottom line.... its your decision to install or use workaround/fixes !
good luck
Thanks everyone, somehow after a few reboots and some time the problem fixed itself, I also managed to get S-Health to work properly but the Private Mode won't work since the Knox counter is triggered, something related to being rooted, as of yet there is no proper fix for it.

When I had all the problems with xposed, I also lost private mode. I restored my nand (1st I made after rooting) and both s-health and private mode work perfectly.

I have extensively searched the forums here for a solution, and haven't been able to find one. If someone knows how to fix this, or can try to help me, I would really appreciate it. I just updated my phone to Marshmallow, and everything is running great. I have SuperSU up and running, and TWRP installed. Everytime I try to install Xposed, my phone boots up, but once the boot finishes it just hangs on a black screen forever. The only way to get the device to boot is by flashing the Xposed uninstaller. I have tried disabling all of my Xposed modules in hopes that would fix the problem, but it did not. I am trying to flash the xposed-v79-sdk23-arm64.zip by the way. Does anyone know of a solution to this? Should I try to find and flash version 78? I've seen a bunch of people having no issues installing Xposed on Marshmallow, so I assume I am doing something wrong. I tried redownloading the file a few times too.
Thank you very much in advance for trying to assist me!! Happy Holidays everyone!
after flashing xposed, do you wipe both caches?. You also can try to install xposed application (apk) first and later flash xposed from twrp.

Thanks for your response. I tried wiping both caches before and after installing Xposed. I also tried it once with only wiping cache after. Each time, I already had the Xposed apk downloaded because I had Xposed up and running on Lollipop.
I'm running "xposed-v78-sdk23-arm64.zip" without issue on my MXPE on MM.

Just tried that version. Same issue, boot animation finishes, then it's just a black screen forever. I'm going to try uninstalling the Xposed app and then installing the framework and see if that works.
Just for kicks, I uninstalled xposed v78 and installed "xposed-v79-sdk23-arm64.zip". It's working great on my phone.
I would try again. Do a hard power down during the hang at the black screen (hold power button down for 10-20 seconds?) and reboot to see if that fixes thing.
Edit: I should note, I cleared all the cache (including Davlik) before and after the install of xposed.

Just wanted to let you know I got it to work. I had to uninstall the Xposed app, uninstall the framework, and then reinstall the framework and reinstall the app. I had a few modules mess me up and cause the black screen and I had to start all over a ton of times, but after hours and hours I finally seem to have everything working for now. Thank you for trying to help, I appreciate it!!
Can you please advise how to uninstall xposed framework? I'm trying to do it via xposed Uninstaller but no luck... Thx in advance for any help

I'm not sure, I currently am not using Xposed anymore. The only way I know is to use the uninstaller and to uninstall the app from your phone. I'm sorry if I can't be of more assistance :/

Do you have any modules installed? If you install Xposed and then install the app, everything should work. Certain modules may not be compatible and they may prevent your phone from booting. You may have to turn off all modules and then turn them on one at a time and see what causes your issue.

No modules, and even no installer app installed. Still black screen mm6.0.1 xstyle 1572 rooted and unlocked bl.
Possible Solution
I had the same problem on my moto, I ended up flashing version 86 of xposed framework and also updated the app to the alpha 4 version. After I did that I had to clear cache and then use root browser to change my xposed disabled file to another. After a long reboot I have xposed running again.
Hello,
I'm experienced a weird bug - when installing an APK file the phone hangs and I need to force restart it. After restarting the phone and trying to open the app being updated - a crash occurs. The update process is seemingly corrupting the app as I need to uninstall it and install again to make it work, making the associated data gone. It is frustrating, because it happens like I'd say 50/50 of times.
Happens while installing an app manually and using root in Yalp. Play Store not tested as it is not present on the phone.
The setup is Xperia X compact running latest .118 Oreo with microg, no GAPPS, Magisk, official Xposed 90 beta3,
Xposed modules: BatteryCare+, FakeGAPPS, GravityBox, XposedGmsCoreUnifiedNlp, XPrivacyLua
It did happen on Xperia X and Xperia XZ with similar setup on Oreo. I wonder if it might be caused by Xposed bundled with Xperia Software?
Actually I'm facing similar issue. I concluded it's caused by Xposed and certain modules. In fact, it's a known issue of Xposed for Oreo. According to rovo89, existing Xposed has problem with ART in Oreo.
As a workaround, now whenever I need to install/uninstall anything, I disable Xposed in Magisk first.
https://github.com/rovo89/Xposed/issues/325
Thank you @itandy for replying. Have you tried installing EdXposed instead of the regular Xposed?
Well it is basically for Pie but it is supposed to work on oreo too. Whenever I tried to install it on X compact running Oreo I got bootloop.
I have found that only some apps installation would cause a freeze and reboot. But your solution is safer of course.

Unfortunately EdXposed doesn't work last time I tried. It fails to boot at all.
