guys please help me, i think im screwing up my mtp with trickster mode by clicking force fast charge when it is connected to pc, now my internal storage content is hidden as android cannot detect the file in file manager, but in storage setting my data is still there, tried wiping and clean install the rom back still the same, mtp to pc also dead as its not displaying anything even the basic folder like android data and etc are all gone ..in twrp all the data still intact and i can revert back to my backup file which is android kitkat and worked fine. but whenever i flash fresh lolipop through twrp this problem came up.
i hate to download other rom zip as i directly flashed from twrp
is there any problem using this method?
btw im using this zip from the thread

any clue guys to fix this mtp issue?
TWRP and Lollipop
I know on my Nexus 5, I had to install a newer version of TWRP because the Lollipop ROMs had to run an additional command to move the internal storage mount point to the appropriate place.
You should read the ROM thread and make sure that your Nexus 4 thread doesn't require any sdcard related "fixes" after installing Lollipop.
This is what fixed the Nexus 5 ROMs:

Did you turn off fast charge already? There is no MTP with fast charge enabled.

Instaled CM latest nightly, but there is not notifications bar and its getting force close all the time?! And now when I connect the phone with PC, I cant get into USB transfer mode to copy some other Rom to SD card to flash it!
I tried to reflash again with full data wipe, but nothing, same problem!
Help, thanks in advance! :good:
Its probably missing SystemUI.apk from /system/app it's a broken flash probably, flash an older nightly
I switced back to Froyo and Rallapag's work (ClickFroyoSense - improved TatFroyoSense), did full wipe of everything and it helped! Now all works just fine! :good:
I got this weird problem with mg S4 (GT-I9500)
I am currently on XXUBUMG9, rooted with PhilzTouch Recovery & Adam Kernel v1.8. During file transfer, for some unknown reason, the phone automatically restarts. But it is only for videos, other large zip files like custom ROMs seems unaffected. So I tried doing Wipe and install a custom ROM only to find out that it has the same issue. I even swtich USB Ports, and Data Cables but no help. And I also tried using other MicroSD Cards that I have but the problem is still there. Then I tried reflashing my stock firmware with no root, both just plain flash and with Wipe and the problem is gone! But I can't manage not to have Wolfson Audio Control that both Perseus and Adam Kernal has. And I also need root.
What could be causing this and is there any other solution to my problem. BTW, vice-versa. transfering large videos from pc to phone doesn't have this problem.
Many Thanks!
Hi all, hoping to get some advice in regards to a brick wall I've hit.
So background, my Galaxy S4 (i9505 running 4.2.2) has had ongoing USB recognition issues and thus I haven't been able to upgrade to a custom rom for a while. After following a couple of very detailed and useful guides on here, without success I had decided that it was likely one of two things:
A hardware problem (I have a third party charging port installed after the OEM stopped working)
Or when I was playing around with settings I derped and uninstalled the MTP application or some related core service.
So I left it for a while but today I decided to do something about it and discovered Mobile Odin (4.20), bought it and clean flashed SlimKat 4.4.4 (http%www%slimroms%net/index.php/downloads/dlsearch/viewcategory/1182-jflte). Took a while but the rom booted, really liked the look and I tried to install 3rd party apps and set up phone as usual but noticed that Google Play Store was missing. Manually installed V4.9 but it kept opening and closing so I uninstalled and the flashed the normal gapps and the AIO gapps through Mobile Odin (with and without clear cache), both processed OK but upon reboot none of apps ever installed.
So I decided to re-flash the SlimKat, I had to re download as I performed a factory restore in amongst things and had the original rom stored on internal. When I flashed inject root was checked as were all the other default options but upon reboot Mobile Odin is giving me "Could not detect device model" which after looking around basically means I lost root .
So my questions are: Without connecting via USB (because it's still not working) what are my options for flashing another rom or regaining root? Is there a way to get to stock 4.4.4 without USB?
Really appreciate any advice, currently the phone has network service and WiFi so in the mean time, without Google Play store it is just a significant inconvenience, but still operational.
Regards,
Marc

I don't know how but my root has been restored while I was playing around clearing app cache's etc. So now I have SlimKat 4.4.4 but unfortunately still no Google services/Store etc. When I manually install it, it has this issue where it automatically opens and then closes, so still working on fixing that. Again appreciate any input.
Hello, I've been flashing ROMs for a while now and I can't think of a way to regain root from within the ROM itself. How did you get root on your device in the first place to install mobile odin?
I have never used a play store application for any type of flashing, was never sure if it would be reliable or not. That being said, have you installed a custom recovery into your phone whilst you were playing around with it? If you did then you can fix this without fixing your USB connection.
However if you still have stock recovery, you probably need a USB connection to regain root. If that is the case, what have you actually tried to fix the USB problem?

Hey @lichking21st. Mobile Odin is allegedly just odin without the need for USB. I have tried to fix the USB to no avail
Actually just about to update my original post, I don't know how but my root has been restored while I was playing around clearing app cache's etc. So now I have SlimKat but unfortunately still no Google services/Store etc. When I manually install it, it has this issue where it automatically opens and then closes, so still working on fixing that. Problems solved!
Clean flashed stock rom then clean flashed back to SlimKat. Google play and root carried over.
USB still not working have to put it down to a hardware issue now. Oh well, so happy
@MOD you can close this. Thanks again for the help LichKing

Glad to see your problem is fixed, I would still advise you to get a custom recovery so you have some options if you really get stuck without root for next time. I recommend using TWRP but CWM works too.
Hi peoples!
I’ve recently installed Cyanogenmod on my Samsung galaxy Xcover 2 (GT-S7710). But when I was done installing my phone couldn’t get any data (H/2G/3G) or call and receive calls. Could someone tell me what I did wrong or forgot whilst or after I installed Cyanogenmod? I would like to know because I’ve read other threads where people with a GT-S7710 do have a working network service on their phone with CM. And I also would like to know the solution to this problem because I can’t take a beating .
I apologize for the length of this first post . I just want to be totally complete about what I’ve done and tried so far to get CM to work with network service. I posted all this information to inform you all and so you could stripe a lot of questions off your list for finding the solution. Also I think this thread may be very useful for other Samsung Android users as well.
Kind regards,
Rick Willems
The problem
So the problem is that when I’ve installed CM10.1 or 10.2 or 11 to my GT-S7710, I don’t have any network service anymore. I tried to install CM using the following method: http://blog.arinium.fi/2014/07/howto-fix-samsung-xcover-2-issues-old-android-low-memory-slow-ui/. I installed CWM 6.0.4.6, wiped cache and installed CM10.2. After this it got stuck in a bootloop. Using the advice of this page: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2084905 which was to also wipe data/factory reset and wipe dalvik using CWM it worked!! YES!! But **** no service.
Used Files to install
Links I used to download CWM, CM and Gapps come from these pages:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2384015&highlight=no+network, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43294839#post43294839,
CWM: http://www.adriadata.net/xda/skomer/
CM: http://www.adriadata.net/xda/skomer/
Gapps: https://itvends.com/gapps/
What I’ve done and tried
I tried to get network service back when I installed CM10.1 and CM11. In both cases I did a full wipe of data/factory reset, cache and dalvik then installed the latest stock rom/firmware 4.1.2 and do the instructions over again form the chosen method. I did notice that my phone does have network service when I have installed the stock rom/firmware downloaded from this link: http://www.mrcrab.net/down-firmware/14362/Samsung-Galaxy-Xcover-2-GT--S7710.html, My device also has got service when CWM 6.0.4.6. is flashed over the stock rom/firmware. Just not when I installed CM. CM10.1 was running more smoothly than CM10.2 and CM11 was running a little less smooth than CM10.2.
Attempt to solve the problem
I’ve brainstormed the following pages to get to the point of giving up .

The most pages are threads for other devices, but I thought I just read it anyway, maybe I could get some useful information out of it. Some pages talk about CDMA/RUIM that you can find under network setting in settings, but I’ve not been able to find it on my GT-S7710. Other data found in these pages are also not corresponding with my device.
What I did notice and learned was that information in the EFS folder like Imei, Baseband etc. are used to find and recognize the simcard and thus enable data usage and be able to call and receive calls. So I thought why not backup a copy the EFS folder and place it in CM’s EFS folder after install, so I did. I installed stock firmware where my network service works following the same steps I took that I described earlier, backup the EFS folder to sdcard1, install CWM and CM10.1 and tried to copy the backed-up EFS folder to CM root. But no way would it replace the CM EFS folder, CM simply blocks the copied EFS folder from stock rom/firmware.
I am just out of ideas now and am requesting your aid. Please help me .
Got the same problem here, unfortunately no fix yet

For those trying to install this or another rom and having the no signal(no smallband) problem. This worked for me on 2 xcovers.
Install cmw: http://theunlockr.com/2014/02/27/install-clockworkmod-recovery-samsung-galaxy-xcover-2-gt-s7710/
Root it: http://theunlockr.com/2014/02/27/root-samsung-galaxy-xcover-2-gt-s7710/
Now normally you can install the custom rom now(vanir). If you do you probably get no signal.
Start odin and flash this file : S7710XXAMB6_S7710OXEAMB3-20130713.tar.md5
I found it on this site: http://www.ulozto.cz/xHADj5PD/samsung-7z
If its dead you can pm me and I can send it.
After I flashed this the phone would just go in a bootloop.
Don't be afraid this is normal.
Now install the vanir rom in the cmw recover mode.
After this it should work fine.
Add a microsd card with 2 partitions and install mount2sd and you have a fully working phone with(almost) unlimited space.
I'm using if for an year now and it works great.
Better then most €500 phones which break after 1 fall .

With skomer it is definitely a baseband problem. Changing baseband solves the network signal.

because i have the same problem, i installed cm10.2 and everything were fine for a week and then no signal, i tried to install all the available firmwares out there, the closest i got was to find network and 3g i made a successfull call then i shut it off. At the next boot nothing again. My baseband is xxxx. What do i have to do to change baseband? My IMEI is correct.
does anyone have a /modemfs and /efs folder available to try or/and a modem file to flash?
Odin flash
Go to this page https://boycracked.com/2016/09/11/official-samsung-galaxy-xcover-2-gt-s7710-stock-rom/ and download stock rom labeled "oxeamb3". Put your phone on download mode and connect to odin. Flash this rom with it.
After that, flash your clockworkmod and custom rom. Vanir or CM.
If you still lose signal, try with AND2 stock rom. It's been a while since I did this so I don't remember exactly, but I think AND2 had problems with signal and AMB3 didn't.
Hello everyone!
I swapped out my USB connection to my phone because it broke and since then I cannot use any of the USB features on my phone beside slow charging (china quality).
But I tried to call my emergency number and it didn't connect me because of a bug with custom rom and the phone app. Now I'm trying to reinstall my phone to stock but I can't do it because I can't get fastboot to work or ADB.
Is there a way I can flash the stock rom with twrp? It doesn't seem to work with google's own .zip files.
Thanks in advance!
Grab a near stock ROM like SuperXE or Pure Nexus.
use http://portal.pushbullet.com/ to push the files too the device, and wipe appropriately in TWRP.
