Hello Guys,
I want to know if it's possible to get that feature (card stack recent apps) on our Samsung based Roms without flashing Paranoid Android?

I've been searching high and low for this. Surely an xposed module is being worked on for this. But as of right now. There's an app on the play store, Fancy Switcher, that has an L recents theme.
This may help You

Hi all, can I just check if there is anyway we can get back stock apps like Car Panel in custom ROMs? It was something that is really cool that I really hope it can work as well on Sense 3.0 ROMs..
someone help ~!
Yes you can. There are many. I know if your phone is rooted you can go get it our of your app folders. I'm sure there others. Go search for the apk on the net.
pretty much all sense based roms should have that app
Which is your BUILD (ROM) ? It's strange that you haven't that app. Did you searched Google for .apk ?
Has anyone patched Play for Tattoo yet?
Why would you want to patch it? It already displays every app that can be used on your phone.
To remove country restrictions and resolution/dpi restrictions.
on 1.6 some apps are not shown .. like whats app and twitter ..

A lot of apps dont support android 1.6 anymore most of them require android 2.x and higher. I would recommend you to flash a 2.x rom like cyanogenmod and nfinity. On those roms you will be able to install that apps

yeah i tried but they are either too slow or do not support arabic .. do u know from where i can get a 2.x stock ROM or not VERY modified ?
There's no 2.x stock ROM, only 1.6.
Can we please keep this ontopic, and that is patching Google Play.
I'm currently using a 2.2 ROM with Sense.
google play is updated automatically on CM7 Gingerbread i dont think it will update on earlier ROMs
But i think someone should do a patch for earlier ROMs
I have it in my ROM, working. I don't have it patched.
Hi there,
yesterday, I have installed the "mi7Rom WP7.8 Edition Nokia Mod by Poloche" from this thread which is working fine. But I noticed some problems with the Spotify app. I'm not able to play a whole playlist (i.e. it stops after one song) and playlists can't be downloaded to be used without internet connection (the download icon appers for a few seconds but nothing happens).
Now I wonder whether this problem is related to the app in general (it is a bit buggy, though) or it has something to do with the 8835 ROM. Does anyone have an idea, workaround or similar observations? Thanks in advance!

I have the same issue before with custom rom running in my htc titan1- mainly not able to download playlist for offline listening. I remember posting this on the titan forum but I didn't really get any solution. Anyway, this issue been resolved with current titan custom roms at least those with ultrashot's Root Manager- just need to grant root access to all applications. Try this and see if works with this custom rom, if Root Manager is not in used try installing Heathcliff's WP7 Root Tools and use this to grant root access to applications. To tell you honestly this doesn't make sense because I thought non-homebrew apps doesn't need root access at all, but this is only what I can think of that might explain why I can now download songs/playlist from Spotify for offline listening. Goodluck.
Thanks for your reply. I tried to grant root access to all apps with "Root Manager" (which is pre-installed on that custom ROM I am using) und everything is working fine now. :good:
Don't know why Spotify does need root access, but I'm happy with it.

Why do you say that? I owe? I think you are not the lead but I also bring my Omnia 7 ROM quite refreshing compared to the other ROM instead.

I believe on my current HTC Evo, it was a feature of my current ROM. Ever since, I got very used to it.
So, is that something that can be done on the S4? Stock/App/ROM?
Thank you for any pointers!

Have you tried CM11? I also got used to it on my EVO and S3 using Mik's Rom and CM10 (I believe CM10 had the option).
I'm currently on Sacs custom rom 4.3 which is awesome, but would like to have the feature.

Haven't tried it yet, as I don't have a phone yet I'm at the stage of contemplating, and this is one of my personal requirements.

Yes, there are roms and mods that allow you to use the volume buttons to skip to the next track. You can install a custom rom or install wanum xposed module from the playstore and enable it through that app on the stock rom. Wanum can also remove the tethering provision so you can tether your phone. To install wanum you will need the xposed installer. Wanum has the information on how to do this in his playstore description.
or there are apps that allow you to do this. I think Poweramp is one.

Hi all. I am sick of the likes of google etc taking liberties with my privacy, so I was wondering if it would be possible to create a ROM without google being able to access anything and everything on my phone?

It's called... CM without GAPPS or MIUI.
I use MIUI as it's independent from Google. Yes it's got Chinese stuff but the good thing is no Chinese stuff work out of China so you are all covered. Or use AppOpps

Thanks for the quick reply. So using CM without gapps, and google (or anyone else for that matter) will not have access to my phone?
Are all custom ROM's independent from google, or just CM and MIUI? I thought almost all custom ROM'S are created from AOSP, which google makes available. Surely they can still spy on you using ASOP, because it is google's software?

android is made by Google.. also u can't escape Google in todays age..
the most u can do is not flash gapps ,other than going for other OS..
many custom roms do not include gapps with them..u can check the rom before downloading it...

If you want privacy, don't use a smartphone.
You might be able to get rid of most (not all without breaking rom functionality) of the Google stuff, but what about apps from other companies/developers ? What about Samsung ? Use AppOps/similar (or App Settings if your rom allows you to use Xposed) to set/limit individual app permissions.
