Why do Moderaters close threads that may not be the most popular opinions? I thought forums were so individuals could provide their opinions good, bad or indifferent.
PM the mod and ask them. If it makes you feel any better it's likely this will be locked soon too.
If a particular thread already exist for a subject, why have multiples? It keeps the forums clean and organized.
Please PM me or any other moderator if you have questions or concerns. I will be happy to discuss them with you. 99% of the time a moderator will give the reason for closure when a thread is closed.
Making a thread questioning moderators decisions is not the correct avenue.

We need either more moderators or some people with more time on their hands. No offense to any current moderators of the Droid 2 section or anything, but this place is ridiculously cluttered and unorganized. People asking questions in development or the theme/app section should be posted in the general chat or within the same topic of the subject of their question. People in the development section posting multiple topics every time they update their ROM, the amount of topics and confusion could easily be cut down tremendously. If you go to any other phones development section on XDA, you see that everyone just updates their first post. Don't worry about your post count or people not noticing that you've updated, they will notice it.
Figured I should post this, because there are a ton of unneeded and misplaced posts.
For reference...

I know who the current moderator is, but he isn't taking care of our section. It needs to be cleaned, hence the nature of my topic.
I'm also not trying to attack him/her in anyway, as you can tell from the link you posted they oversee A LOT of sections, and that's a lot of work for one person.

That wasn't meant just for you, not everyone knows how to find that info.
You should probably PM Captainkrtek to start with. That seems like the politic thing to do.
Aight look. We have a Q&A section now, and I ask that all questions be posted in that section. This is a well known rule, and a simple one to boot.
But, that isn't what this thread is about. No, this thread is about FLAMING OTHER USERS FOR POSTING IN THE WRONG SECTION. Simply put, the amount of flaming that goes on for people posting in the wrong section is ASTOUNDING.
From this point on(4/16/2011) any and all threads that are flame wars will be closed, and the people doing the flaming will be issued infractions. These will all start as yellow cards, IE warnings that expire and do not go against your profile. If you continue to flame, they will escalate to red cards, which DO go against your profile and CAN and WILL lead to a ban, which may be permanent.
I honestly do not want to be posting this thread. But this has just gone too far.
IF someone posts in the wrong section, a polite "please post in the correct section", a short answer and a report to me is all that is required and expected. Please note that when you report a post it goes to me and the senior moderators and administrators. I have also made it so that I will now receive PM's directly to my phone so that I can get things resolved faster.
If you go into a thread that is in the wrong section, and the OP has already been told this, DO NOT add to the post, rather send me a PM with the link/info or click the REPORT POST button.
To the point folks-the flaming is out of control. I am partly to blame for enforcing that questions be posted in the Q&A section and completely realize this, but in order to keep this forum clean the Q&A rule will remain to be a rule.
This thread is closed. If you have any comments or concerns regarding this matter, please PM me.
Thanks-saur.
why close the thread here about GalNet Miui here in the G2 dev section but still open here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1363092&page=6
It's probably MUCH more effective to contact the moderator directly.

Yea but well this place is almost as bad as china or germany in the 1930's.
Hi Kitila,
I'm hopeful the comparison you made is intended to be a figure of speech and not a factual statement. However, I feel that this is highly inapropriate. Please be so kind as to rephrase your statement.
Thanks.
Well let's see its a metaphore commie china, germany 1930's......I thought this was a place to promote modding but it seems not.......not trying to offend any1 but common.
As c00ller said above, before posting such nonsene, please contact a moderator directly. There was no need for this topic. As was stated in the G2 Dev thread regarding this ROM, it has broken many XDA rules and they are not allowed on this site. XDA promotes development/modding but we do have rules that we must follow to avoid breaking any legal action.
Thread closed. In the future, please respect the actions of a moderator unless you want to end up with an infraction or ban. Thank you.

Rules of Behavior (Just to be clear)
1. Posting in the Development Forum. Creating new threads in the Dev Forum is restricted to development work. Roms, Hacks, Roots, etc. This IS NOT a place to ask questions. There is a Q&A Forum for that.
Exception: If you have a problem with a specific Custom Rom, Hack, Root, etc, then you may post it in the related thread where it originated from. Example; you installed a custom rom from the Dev Forum, and it has issues rom related. You may post your issue in the ROM THREAD ONLY. Do NOT create a new thread.
2. Arguments and Flaming. We shouldn't have to go over this, but it seems some people love to participate in such behavior. Calling a user a "n00b" is not tolerated, and such posts will be deleted, and the poster warned/infracted/banned. Giving a user a hard time because their english is bad, is also not tolerated. XDA is not a Grammar School.
If an argument starts, DO NOT participate in it. You have a "Report Post" button. Use it. Let the Mod's take care of it. You are not moderators, so please don't act like it.
3. RD's, RT's, RC's. As given such title, you are expected to behave in a manner reflecting the best of XDA. Participating in arguments is not what is expected. You also have an "RP" button. Use it. This also applies to Senior Users who have been around.
4. Arguing with a Moderator is pointless, and as such, can result in warnings/infractions/ban. So don't go that route. If you feel a Moderator is out of line, or made a mistake, you may argue your point via PM. Publicly posting is not a good way to go.
We are all here to help the users, and to mainly help continue the development of the devices. This is a Development site, not Facebook or other social networking sites.
If you have any issues or questions, please feel free to contact us via PM. You will find the moderator links at the top of each main forum.
Thank You.
