Hello,
If i run the latest application. update for my LG G2 d802 it goes right in bootloop
I rooted my phone so it stucks in TWRP recovery that is installed with autorec
I use my phone right now because i found a fix for the bootloop but my question is how can i update my device without risking a bootloop.
(Sorry for the grammar im dutch my english is a little bit low.)
I am having the same issue and would like to know your fix for the bootloop.
edit:
OK never mind, I have since fixed my bootloop issue using this fix:

And to answer OPs question:

No OTA with TWRP installed! You have to go back to stock (Link in the second post of this thread), take the OTA and root (& install TWRP) again.

Alternatively, I read you can /freeze/ the update mechanism using a program called titanium backup so it doesn't bother you with it anymore.
Although I am unsure about the exact procedure to do so, sorry.

Hi! I haven't seen any posts about this, and couldn't find any posts either by searching, so I'll ask
I've got an F320S which is rooted. I tried to install a 20MB update, but got "blocked" because of root. I installed custom-recovery in order to try to installing it from there, but with no luck. That resulted in a bootloop. So my question is: How can I update my phone?
Is it also possible to update it to KitKat (if there are any KitKat update for F320S. I've seen it on the internet, so it is available?)
Thanks!

you have a custom recovery installed on your phone, this is why the update fails. the custom recovery is not the same as the stock recovery so the script the update uses to execute the update doesnt work for custom recoveries. you'd have to reinstall the stock recovery to get the update to work. i dont know where you'd get that for the f320s. maybe if there is a guide to go back to complete stock for the f320s then that will also give you back stock recovery. then you can make a copy of the stock recovery image for yourself. also if you have root you can install supersu then go into supersu settings and scroll all the way to the bottom and unroot your device.
I made a backup of the stock recovery before flashing CWM. Wouldn't it be possible to just restore it? I flashed and made a backup with flashify!

I tried to install stock recovery, unroot, and then update, but for some reason, the phone still suspected me for being rooted...
I have a question, I am using LG G2 D802, rooted, using CWM v6.0.4.4. My sister also uses LG G2 D802, she updated her G2 in Kitkat. So I want to get the update also, I opened the Update Center and tried to update, but I can't see the update for kitkat. Only "V10f-DEC-23-2013" appeared on my update list, so I update my G2, and restarted the phone, and stuck on CWM. Resolved this problem by following instructions on the threads here (Thanks to you guys!), but my question is, how can I update to kitkat when I can't get passed updating to V10f-DEC-23-2013 that stucks my phone to CWM boot loop (Tried downloading many times but stucks me up at CWM bootloop)? Anyone out there experienced this kind of problem? Can you guys please suggest me what to do?
you should update on clean stock rom without root and the custom recovery.

What steps should I do?
Hi,
I have 4.2 on my LG G2 D802 and KitKat was just launched in my country. My phone is rooted and I got TWRP.
Can I download and install the KDZ-file (KitKat) without removing TWRP?
Do I have to remove any mods I have done to the system? Like G2 Xposed etc?
Please respond, before I do the update (don't want to brick it).
Thank you!

Do not make OTA update with TWRP on you phone ! you will be stuck at recovery !
You cannot flash a kdz without lossing root and twrp !
Flash this ROM and follow the thread so you get kitkat with root and you keep your custom reovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2661866

I know not to make an OTA update.
And I don't care about loosing root and twrp. I'm wondering if it will work fine to install the KDZ-file and it will work like a original-phone. Or if I do have to remove TWRP and mods first?
Thank you!

you can flash official KDZ no matter u have twrp or not ! but be aware that your bootloader will be updated and you will never get custom recovery again (till now)
I have searched a bit and from what I have found the phone will not be restored after a KDZ-flash? I want my phone completely wiped and restored to stock when I install KiKat. Can I restore my phone in settings before I install the KDZ-file?
Will this somehow be a problem when I have a rooted phone and TWRP?
Please help me restore my phone to stock and update to KitKat, I want it to be completely stock and with nothing left in it.
Thank you!

If you modify the ROM you won't be able to OTA. That includes custom recovery, moving, renaming, or otherwise modifying anything in /system.

Thank you for the answer! How to find a phone like the factory? Can I update with lg pc suite?
I tried updating my phone via OTA the other day, but because I had TWRP recovery, when my system installed the updated, it would boot into TWRP, and.... that was basically it, could not update, had to rollback from a backup I took moments before. Then, in a stroke of genius, I used flashify to restore the original recovery and almost bricked my device.
Big tip for anyone in this situation...
When using flashify, use recovery IMAGE not zip, if you use the zip function, it has to boot into a recovery to use it, so the image file is the preferred method, in my opinion.
Howdy folks -- I'm having issues with my G2 that I hope people here can help me with. I've already had some advice in the Noobs thread, so thanks for that.
My phone is a LG G2 D800 (AT&T) and is unlocked, being used on the Rogers network. The previous owner of the phone had installed CloudyFlex, which is what I was using until recently.
Here's the story in a nutshell:
On my first attempt to upgrade my ROM from CloudyFlex, I booted into recovery (TWRP installed by the previous owner) and then flashed the newest TWRP for my phone. I then realized I didn't have all the files needed to do the upgrade, so after the TWRP image was successfully flashed, I went to "Reboot System". Doing so gave me a non-responsive phone (LG logo then nothing but a slowly flashing LED).
I managed to get the phone into Download Mode and followed the instructions for LG Flash Tool in the first post here exactly: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 which gave me a "stock" functional phone again, but one now running Jellybean (4.2.2, software version D80010o). I'd like to be on Kitkat or (preferably) Lollipop.
I am able to root the phone easily using the LG One Click Root tool. No problem there.
So that's the story. I now have a AT&T D800, unlocked and running on Rogers with Jellybean 4.2.2 (D80010o). I would like to bring my phone into 2016 by updating it to at least KitKat, preferably Lollipop (if I can). The problem is that I can't get a working recovery. Here's what I've tried:
Flashify: following its instructions exactly seems at first like it's working (I get some kind of "success" message) but when it then goes to reboot the phone, it reboots to a black screen (phone is non-responsive -- have to hold down the power button to shut it off, then turn it back on, at which point it boots normally into Android)
TWRP Manager: I've tried it as well, and get the same outcome as Flashify (apparent success followed by a black screen etc.). Once the phone is on and back into Android, TWRP Manager seems to think that TWRP is not installed.
AutoRec: I installed the version from the thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2715496 ran it, and again it appeared to be successful. When it rebooted, it did go into recovery, TWRP 2.7.0.0 or something like that. Then I went to "reboot system" but got the same problem as before -- phone non-responsive, slow flashing LED, had to go back into Download Mode and flash the Jellybean TOT file, etc.
Can anyone help me figure out what is going on? I just want to get my phone to a nice stable Lollipop state with decent performance and battery life. Failing that, KitKat. Not sure what to do next.
Crisis averted: I managed to get CloudyG2 2.2 running on my phone and all seems well. Here's what I did:
I installed stock KitKat on my phone using the procedure outlined at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2663369
I then rooted the phone with ioroot (following its instructions)
I then used AutoRec to install recovery. For some reason I'm only ever able to boot to recovery directly from AutoRec -- when I try to get into recovery using the usual techniques, the phone locks up. I literally have to reinstall recovery every time and then say "yes" when AutoRec asks me if I want to reboot into recovery. Not sure why this is. The TWRP version I see is 2.7.0.0
I then flashed the KK bootloader and then CloudyG2. So far so good.
I'm a bit too shellshocked to try to install a Lollipop ROM on this phone right now. Maybe some day. In the meantime, many thanks to those who helped me out on other threads.
Why didn't you just tot to the latest rom?

Based on comments at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476 I was under the impression that the farthest I could get would be Jellybean. Then found the other thread with the KitKat TOT. That enabled me to use Autorec (though recovery still works wonky on my phone) so I now have CloudyG2.
