Can I flash the Bootloader posted by u on Custom Android 4.4.4?

Has anyone been able to get xposed installer to work on this ROM? I have tried redownloading it (xposed) and cannot get it to work. Something about xposed is not (yet) compatible with Android SDK version 21 or your processor architecture.

i hate to be the one to break it to you.....xposed is not compatible with Lollipop as it cannot run on art (at least for now although i wouldn't expect anything anytime soon).....surprised you haven't seen anything mentioned previously

Well darn. I will admit I haven't looked too hard on information before I flashed this rom. I have been thru several versions of this developers rom and like to stay with what I know. I have tried different ones but have always come back to craig.
I wasn't using too much out of exposed, just chromepie(which i had just found), Play Store Changelog and Heads Up Notifications.
Chromepie helped me use Chrome like Browser and I am/was starting to move to it. looks like I will have to try to find a working version of Browser for lollipop so I can get pie controls back.

No. I meant that I'm currently on Android 4.4.4 n I want to flash Lollipop whose prerequisite is the latest Bootloader... So should I flash the latest Bootloader while I'm on Android 4.4.4 itself before flashing Lollipopalooza?
I am a newbie n any help would be great!!!

I flashed this rom, but didn't flash the new bootloader and it works. The latest bootloader isn't necessary.

Is there a trick to getting root. I flashed the latest suoer su but still have no root

I'm getting all the files ready to flash this but the only thing I can't find is the new bootloader already got the latest twrp , all I need is the new bootloader, I'm going to flash it with the old bootloader and see how it behaves, until I can get the new one.
RoloRacer on KillerKat Note 3

I was rooted with kik kat and just flash LP with no problems. It took about 10 minutes to boot up but that's it.

I cannot receive any Bluetooth or NFC files? Can someone check as I can connect to Bluetooth devices just fine but just came receive any files?

After 2 days of having this lollipop rom, so far everything works smooth as butter, the only two things I've encountered is the Wi-Fi speed is slow at times , and disconnects at times but reconnects shortly after and the system.ui fc when clearing all recent. I've also noticed dolphin browser is laggy when scrolling, but that's an app issue and Google keyboard just fc'ed on me while I was typing this using swipe feature on it. But regardless I always enjoy a new version of android when it comes out, I'm sure things will get ironed out with a few updates, or a Dev here fixing them.

Same here. Wifi drops a bit. Love it though. Thx craig

Thank you for the Thunderkat roms they were the best (in fact I'm still using the latest version) especially coupled with ktoonsez kernels, unfortunately with the latest version Lollipopalooza I wasn't able to do what I usually reducing the brightness to 2 (because I exclusively use my tablet in darkness), I proceeded as usual decompiled the framework-res and changed the Lux and brightness values recompiled but unfortunately I'm getting a bootloop, whether I flash the rom with the modified framework or afterwards by copying the new framework in TWIN.

Wifi Tether Fix
For those who don't have Tasker (I don't) I wrote a quick and dirty app that you can use to quickly switch tethering on/off.

My phone is already running the stock 4.4.4 from AT&T.
Should I install the 4.4.3 AOSP ROM as indicated after wiping? Or should I install the 4.4.4 AOSP ROM immediately?
Thanks.
Unfortunately, Airdroid has stopped.
Since, I fear that part of this issue may be related to this rom, I was wondering if you guys knew why the newest version of airdroid was failing at login/startup of the app. I receive the error message "Unfortunately, Airdroid has stopped" every time I attempt to open it. Is anyone else having that problem? And if so, did you find a solution?

SELinux is set to permissive. It's only been since the new update that I've been having problems. I've tried restarting the phone and deleting and reinstalling the app, but nothing has fixed it with that minimalistic troubleshooting. If you can tell me how to troubleshoot it further, I'm definitely willing to give it a try.

Hello, great work on the ROM! I'm running Verizon NC5 with safestrap, everything works as mentioned. I haven't read if the IR is functional for running smart ON or any other TV remote. It doesn't seem to work for me since I flashed this ROM but did on others. Either way I'm staying put, just wondered. thanks for your time.

AT&T just pushed out the OTA update for the galaxy s4. does that mean you will be releasing the lollipop version of this rom anytime soon

If I'm already on R11-2, how do I update? Do I just flash this to the same slot (after backing it up)? Do I need to flash the NI2 firmware tar again?

Flashing From Stock
Sorry for a total noob question, but I'm new to flashing and I'm paranoid
It says in the first post to do a full wipe if coming from a different ROM... Would stock TW count as a different rom? Or can I dirty flash this to the stock slot without doing anything else?

No worries ask away. Yes stock TW would be considered a different ROM.
Not sure if anyone is having this similar problem, but I cannot seem to get the flashlight toggle to work. I flashed the fix file multiple times and still nothing. Any ideas? (I'm on R12-2)
S Health Crash
I'm having healthservices crash constantly. I went from "stock" rooted 4.4.4 to your 12-2 release with a dirty flash. Do I need to wipe anything? For now I turned off S health and everything else seems to be working fine.

NI2 Firmware
So, what happens if I don't flash the NI2 firmware with ODIN after flashing the ROM with safestrap? In my haste to get this up and running I may have run out of the house before flashing the firmware. As of now it's running fine and it says my build is OptimalRom. I can see Viper has installed and the volume up flashlight tweak is working. It seems to be mostly there short of the extra toggles in notifications.
Chances are I'm going to get home later and fix this, but I was just curious because at the moment my phone is running great.

It would probably work on other firmwares (since rooting NI2 requires downgrading), just not 100% stable and you'll probably get many FCs. What's your baseband say? If it ends in NI2, then you're fine. If it says NE9 or NCG or NHA, then you'll want to flash the NI2 firmware.

Baseband ends in NI2. But, like I said, it's running pretty much flawlessly. Being paranoid of something down the line not working correctly I'm probably just going to fix it later tonight though. Thanks for the quick response! If this is not 100% than I'm going to be extremely happy when I re-do it later and get it working correctly. Cheers.

endless boot
I tried two different nightlies and the phone will not boot. It just goes to the CM boot screen forever.
I just upgraded to the KK bootloader and this is the first ROM I've tried since then so hopefully I didn't do something else wrong.
I had to modify the scripts because I got an error saying the ROM was for a different phone.
help?
Nightly of jan07th is flashing fine and i am using it ..
Tried flashing jan12th and jan13th and both got stuck at the boot logo ..
Then tried jan15th built and that too got stuck but this time at the boot animation screen ..
Now i am back on jan07th ..
Heard jan14th is flashing fine, will try and update ..

xt901 upgrade to KK bootloader?
I am using a Motorola Electrify M (xt901) on US Cellular.. It is basically the same as the RAZR M (xt907) from Verison. I am able to flash any ROMS designed for xt907 successfully. But my xt901 is on the JB Bootloader. Anyone successfully upgraded to KK boatloader on this phone. The Lollipop builds using JBBL are just starting to appear, but I am having trouble finding them. Can anyone point me in the right direction, or know how I can update to KKBL, so I can use the official CM12 releases?

As far as I know the only ones that work are dhacker29's and the ones from Chinese dev Mijuu. Both are unofficial status and have some bugs that prevent them from going nightly. That's what you get for owning a JBBL device...
Well, at least dhacker indeed said that after SELinux is resolved there will be a possibility for JBBL to go nightly, so stay tuned.

Stable Enough for a Daily Driver?
I was trying to decipher through the comments whether or not this ROM is functional enough to bring someone through an average day, but I couldn't find a definitive bugs list or anything. Some people are saying that there are some minor bugs but most of them sound pretty obscure so that has me thinking that I'll be fine but I was just wondering if someone could reassure me. I'm pretty literate with this kind of stuff, I'm just wondering if any major features are down like wifi, phone, SMS, MMS, camera, normal stuff. (as of 2/15/15 or afterwards)
Thanks
All major functions work. There is some battery drain reported and I have had issues with using Bluetooth while on wifi (stays connected but data stops working)

f2fs support?
I've read that the f2fs filesystem is faster than ext4 in most cases, and on TWRP there is an option to switch to f2fs. But does the ROM support it?
Has anybody tried encryption with CM12? Any problems?
Has anybody successfully installed the Motorola camera(the one from Moto G/X where you touch the screen anywhere to take photo)? I was using it on AOSPA kitkat.

[Q] [Help]LG G2 ls980 flash/loki probs

Not sure what all information you will need but ask and I shall gladly supply
Got a LG-ls980
Running stock lollipop 5.0.1 on ZVG update or w/e
Rooted using LG One Click Root (program never said it finished but checked phone and root is verified)
Used autorec to get TWRP v2.8.6.1 (seemingly worked fine)
currently trying to flash the latest nightly of Cyanogenmod
Receiving errors like
assert failed: run_program("/system/bin/loki.sh") == 0
E: Error executing updater binary in zip '/pathtopackage/packagename.zip
can no longer boot normally "security error"
I've done some looking around and tried a few different things but nothing has made any changes, any assistance would be greatly appreciated, thanks
I was told something about loki needing to be unlocked but haven't made any progress as this is my first LG style phone
I'm sure the solution has probably been posted somewhere and probably isn't that difficult but either I couldn't find it or I didn't recognize what I was reading

Doesn't the 5.x autorec install the 4.4 bootloader? You need a 4.2 bootloader to flash cyanogenmod 12 at the moment, because it still uses the loki exploit, instead of the bump provided with the 4.4 bootloader.

Are you planning on running lollipop? I'd suggest keeping the 4.4 bootloader and flashing a CAF-based rom, not only they are much less hacky, they're pretty much stable now.
I'd only flash the old bootloader if I were to install kitkat. Current CM12 sources are VERY outdated.
I was trying to find you the jellybean bootloader but since I don't own a ls980 and I don't visit the section too often this was the closest I could find http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2627765

My goal is to have CM12 Lollipop but with a working radio (so a KK bootloader but LP rom?) Reading around I've seen people who have successfully done it but I've got no luck. I'm willing to start over and reflash everything needed, I just need the files and order to flash.
If i could find out how to fix this Loki issue i could finish this easy.

Can you link me to the rom thread?
If everything else fails, there's always the Kitkat KDZ -> Kitkat autorec (which installs the JELLYBEAN bootloader, the one you're looking for).
Otherwise, have you considered maybe using a 5.1.1 lollipop rom?

Anything you would suggest? I use aviate launcher so really whatever is the best for battery. As long as it's for ls980 and is easy to do.
Thank you for helping me this far I appreciate it.

My pleasure, thank you for using the Q&A section instead of spamming the development threads like users usually do.
While I can't recommend any rom personally (this leads to uneasiness between developers, publicly saying a rom is better than another is frowned upon and for good reason, as they all bust their asses to deliver something for -free-), I can say that anything that has [CAF] in the title is a green light for you.
You can check here or here. I personally use Euphoria-OS as it's basically what you probably think of cyanogenmod with extra customization, but RR, blisspop crdroid and others are really good, too. You just have to look a tiny bit into it. Many if not all of these threads support multiple variants, just search for ls980 and you're good to go.
There are also developers like @zg85 who have done an amazing job both contributing to the CAF-rebase and building several roms for the d802, although practically none are posted as a thread on XDA. While they're not for your variant, there probably is at least a single developer who doesn't post his builds to XDA for the sprint version.
Lastly, as soon as the CAF rebase is complete (as in completely stable, as at the moment there's a bluetooth bug and some connectivity issues), rashed97 himself will post a CM12.1 build and many other roms will pop up (as the device source will be stable, porting will be really easy).

Believe me, I didn't do much work. You can donate to @m11kkaa, though. He's the developer of EFIDroid (if you didn't already know that...). I believe he has a donation link in his profile...

This is great but is there a way to uninstall it (if necessary) and get back to the primary ROM (stock or Lineage OS) without losing data?
tried to do a bit of light research and couldn't find what's different between this and other preexisting multiboot solutions. I've been using Dual Boot Patcher for sometime without issues. Is this somehow better? and if so, how?

EFIDroid is what you would call a "second-stage bootloader". The main advantage over Dual Boot Patcher (at least for me) is that you no longer have to patch zip files before installing. Also, EFIDroid is more than just a multi-boot solution. Quoting @m11kkaa:
efidroid tries to focus on simplicity, and doesn't require any kernel modifications etc.
in general: well having such a powerful bootloader in your boot stage gives you lots of possibilities, like multiboot, replacements/additions for kernels/ramdisk/cmdline.
This project has a lot more potential than what's currently implemented. i.e. you can give samsung devices fastboot and sony devices a standalone recovery. Also you can natively boot GNU GRUB if you're into booting linux kernel's the desktop way.

The two solutions are similar enough that you can migrate your setup from Dual Boot Patcher to EFIDroid without losing any data. I'll try to post a guide later this week.
I was I under the impression dual boot required multiple ROMs running the same kernel... If that is the case a huge advantage efi has is each ROM having their own boot img. I'm currently running 3 ROMs a lollipop a marshmallow and of course a nougat. I really just wanted to see all 3 latest android os running flawlessly on 1 device. And I did just that hats off to the developer for this.

There's an uninstall button in the app. Or, you could just flash the original boot.img via TWRP (basically what the uninstall button does).
I'm a noob...What is this? Where do I need to go to learn about why I would want this...Please explain lol

you can look at their website, and then decide if you want this level of control over your phone.

Thanks for bringing us this tool. One thing I can't figure out...how do we Odin a different bootloader? I have DOK2 loaded now, and want to put Dr. Ketan's on the phone. The sub instructions say to Odin the BL and CP, as the ROM is generally generic. There us also a datafix and an essential fix that needs to be applied. Doing all of that is easy, but how do I keep two separate bootloaders (LP and MM) totally separate? If I flash a LP over a MM, my camera breaks, and if I flash a MM over LP, WiFi breaks. And I'm not talking about dirty flashes, a full system, data, and cache wipe 3x. Only Odin back to the base ROM keeps my phone happy.

There's no way to have two different bootloaders. EFIDroid comes between the bootloader and the boot.img, so it has no control over the bootloader.
EDIT: EFIDroid may be able to emulate the behavior of another bootloader... you would have to ask @m11kkaa for details...

I downloaded and started up the EFIdroid unofficial apk but got the following message:
=====================================
Error
Can't load device info. Please check your connection.
/data/user/0/org.efidroid.efidroidmanager.debug/files/devices.json (No such file or directory)
override ota server try again
===============================================
Could you please explain what's going on? Seems that this version is different from the one i downloaded in March. Could it be that it's not getting root access? What can I do to get around this error?

I will have to look into it... The EFIDroid app error messages are not exactly the most helpful kind. (Good thing the app is being phased out soon). That particular error message could mean many things, but most likely it's a connection issue. We will continue this in Slack.
Will this work on tw 7.0 if i was porting a rom. Also why wont aosp kernel work on tw.. i always thought tw was aosp with skin..
Go to back to the link posted above where you got the unofficial apk and go to post #83. The OP posted an apk there that works fine on our phone.

Tried what you suggested but it didn't work either. So, I chose the 'nuclear option': I wiped the phone completely then reinstalled the stock Marshmallow ROM. using Odin. After that i installed TWRP v3.0.2 (trltetmo) and Supersu v2.79 as well as Busybox v1.26. Only then was I able to install EFIDroid successfully. Now, I'm able to boot the stock rom as well as Resurrection Remix.
It seems that if your going to install EFIDroid you must have the phone rooted using SuperSU. Using Magisk to root your phone instead of SuperSu won't work (at least it didn't work in my case).

This should work anywhere, regardless of ROM... But btw, it's a stretch to say TW is just a skin on top of AOSP. In fact, TW is probably the farthest you can get from AOSP... There's a lot of significant differences that make AOSP kernels incompatible with TW ROMs...
