usb drivers - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 and Duos 6102 Q&A, Help & Troubl

bricked my phone and just now installed usb drivers but the odin still doesnt recognize the phone

Then either you
Didn't install USB drivers correctly
Have a faulty cable
Faulty USB port
Not using the right odin version (I recommend v3.07)
Remember if using Windows 8/8.1 you must run the USB driver setup file in compatibility mode else it won't run then just keep clicking next
Put phone in download mode (Vol down home button power button) connect USB then push Vol up to start connection
If all the above has been done with the exception of a hardware fault it will be down to user error if it doesn't work

should I use particularly samsung cable

Soft Bricked Help!

Trying to fix a friends Vibrant...
He was running jk6 software when the phone bricked itself in his pocket (?).
Now, the only thing we can do is access download mode by holding down the power button.
If I run Odin, and try to start up the phone into download mode, none of the COM Ports detect the phone, even though he is in download mode. Conventional methods don't work (Starting up ODIN, Plug in USB, hold down volume buttons). Only way I access download mode is by holding the power button down.
Any Help?
Try switching to a different USB port.

You need to make sure the computer has the usb drivers installed. Simple plug and play won't work. Its good you can get into download mode. Look in the bible sticky and download and install the usb drivers. Also if its windows vista or 7, when you open odin don't double click it. Right click and run as administrator. Also, make sure you open odin first before you connect the phone to the computer. Good luck.

Drivers have already been installed.
I can access download mode perfectly using my Vibrant and ODIN recognizes it, but when i plug my friends Vibrant in, thats when the problems happen.
For the record, when I plug my friends Vibrant into the USB port..a message pops up saying that one of the usb devices attached has malfunctioned (Code 43). I'm thinking this is directly related to ODIN not recognizing it (although it recognizes mine)
If you can reach download mode fear not its not an issue with the phone its definitely a problem with the drivers or maybe even try a different usb cable.
Yea, but I can only reach download mode. Phone will not boot into recovery, or even start up, just download mode lol. And i dont think its the USB, seeing as how i can plug in my other Vibrant and odin detects it immediately (on the same computer).

Well if the very same usb cable and port recognizes your phone (I'm assuming you both have the same exact phones) and odin recognizes your phone and not his, then his usb port on his phone must be where the problem lies... Try looking it, or even opening your phone and cleaning his usb port or something. Or try a different computer. if you can get into download mode don't worry, you'll find a way to fix your phone.
Still having the same problems. Tried a different USB cable, different computer running Odin...no luck. Only my computer detects that the phone even exists by shooting me an error saying that the device has malfunctioned. Phone just stays in download mode...Odin doesnt detect it. I've tried different methods to have ODIN detect it and still nothing.
Had to go through this too, but didn't have another phone in download mode to test against.
Win7 x64, tried a bunch of different drivers, but in the end was running the ones that come with Samsung Kies. In my case it ended up working without the original samsung cable (just a generic one), and with a USB port hanging right off my motherboard at the back of my tower. I have two USB ports on the front of my tower and they always errored, no matter what combinations I tried (including the same cable and driver). But when I switched to a port at the back, I got past the malfunctioning USB device error. Also, it seemed like Odin likes to be running when the phone boots into download mode. This took hours but phone runs perfectly now.

[Q] USB Port Does Not Work When I Hold Down Volume and Power on HTC HD2

Loaded Android on my HTC HD2. Had issues with android, so I went back to Windows. Used the following to load Android
SPL-2.08.HSPL
Radio that support 576 MB RAM
DFT MAGLDR Bootloader v1.13
ClockworkMod Recovery v1.3
Now want to load android ROM again, but USB port will not work when I power on phone holding down volume button. Goes into multi colored screen but I never get USB in the white field. USB works fine when phone is being charged. When plugged into USB port on computer when in Windows mobile, PC does not recognize phone. Searched forums and it seems like a lot of people are having this issue, but no one seems to have the solution to the problem. Was hoping someone could help with this. Thanks!
Are you sure you have Active Sync or Windows Mobile Device Center installed on your computer? You have to have the correct version of this to have the correct drivers on your computer.

Yes, I have WMDC installed. My bigger concern is why the connection will not change from serial to USB when I boot into the multi colored screen by holding down the volume button while powering on the phone. If I have the USB plugged in when I'm booting to the multi colored screen, it just displays a white screen where it should say serial or USB.

If I am understanding you correct if you have the USB plugged in when you boot to bootloader(multicolor screen) it only displays a white screen. Does it x the Sam thing if you boot to bootloader and then connect your USB cable? Also I reread your first post and I see you also say your computer does not recognize the device when you are booted into a Windows Mobile ROM and you plug the device in via USB. Now this is really not good as it might mean your micro USB port on the device nolonger is functioning for data transfer. I suggest you connect your device via USB and then go to Control Panel and open Device Manager and seecwhat your device is listed as there, post it back here in this thread too pleased. I have a feeling though that you are just having a driver issue.

If I boot to bootloader and and then connect USB cable, it stays on serial and never changes to USB. When I plug it into my computer, the light comes on to show it is charging, but the computer never sees it. Even if I scan for HW changes, it never sees the device. Windows doesn't make the sound it normally does when you plug a device in via USB.

I definitely think you are having a driver issue, try this if you do not have a Windows Mobile ROM on your device and see if you can do any kind of data transfer via USB. Try doing some file transfer on your SD card, if you can do this then yes you most definitely have a driver issue. I would then re install WMDC and then boot to bootloader and see if you get the USB in the in the white bar of bootloader that shows you have the HTC Sync connection.
Unable to do any kind of transfer via USB because PC does not see phone as being plugged in when I connect it to the USB. Storage on the phone does not show up under My Computer as additional storage when connected. Attempted to reinstall WMDC and it gives an error saying that it can not install the device drivers. You mentioned Windows Rom, phone is running Windows Mobile, if that is what you meant. Thanks!

you can not use kies to flash or restore firmware on galaxy y - it is not supported and kies is just not needed
if you have installed the usb drivers from the link in my thread (in compatibility mode if on windows 8/8.1) - are using a working usb cable rear usb ports on pc and correct split firmware from my thread it will work
unless you have a faulty usb port/cable it will be due to user error

Try to use your cable connected from your pc and your phone again. If the same problem happened, try to connect your phone using that cable to another pc. BUT if that phone is not recognized, I think the problem is in the cable. Try to buy another one, and if same thing happened, the problem is in the usb port of your phone.

[Q] USB Automatically Disconnecting after two sec.

I am not able to connect my phone to my pc using data cable neither in Download mode nor in Power on.
The problem is that USB disconnecting automatically after two sec, and windows was unable to recognize it.
I tried connecting Another phone using the same data cable and pc, it worked fine, it was GTS 5830i.
is there any way to solve this issue?
please help me.
What operating system are you using?
For example in Windows 8.1 you need to do the following
Download USB drivers (see my firmware thread link in signature or at top of dev section)
Right click the setup file
Click properties
Select compatibility tab
Select run this programme in compatibility mode for
Select windows xp sp3
Select apply
Run the setup
It will now run & install
Note any other operating system just run the setup normally
Now plug your phone in via usb
Now plug in any other USB devices eg a wireless mouse dongle
Windows 8.1 will now recognise the device
I am using windows 7 ultimate.
By saying im able to connect other phone to the Pc, I mean all USB Drivers are
Correctly installed.
I think its a issue related to my phone, us there any settings to change? Like *#7284%?

Check to make sure there is no dirt and debris in the USB connection on phone - you might want to clean it with cleaning solution (whilst the phone is off)
Other than that you can flash stock rom via odin to make sure there are no software problems with phone
There's no settings as far as I know that will stop USB connecting unless you have deliberately looked for & changed something relating to it but I can't think of anything
Well I am not able to connect to odin.
Now i use a custom Rom i just want to install original rom using odin.
i tried cleaning USB port,

If you have
Installed the USB drivers
Using Odin version 3.07
The firmware from my firmware thread
Using rear USB ports if on pc
Put the phone into download mode (Vol down home button power button)
Pressed Vol up in download mode to start connection
Then the only thing left is a hardware fault or user error - both of which I can't support here

OPO 2 "no OS installed"

Hi guys,
i knew this topic was dicussed a few times, but i didn´t find a solution which fits for me.
Unfortunately i wiped my OnePlus 2 using twrp and since then i can´t used it, it only says "no OS installed".
No USB connection is found, i can not find it as an adb device (daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037) and USB OTG isn´t working either.
I tried different drivers for the device (actually i uses a qualcomm 9008 driver) but nothing helps.
Is there a change to rescue the phone?
Many thanks in advance!
Were you able to get into recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up, then pressing Power once? How about Fastboot mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, then pressing Power once?
Also, what recovery do you have?

Hi I had the same problem a few months ago, my phone wasn´t recognized by my pc because I was using the official charging cable so I bought a cheap USB-C cable and I was able to connect it to my pc and reinstall the OS. Hope this helps.
So your device isn't recognized in Fastboot mode? Do you have any ROMs downloaded on your phone already?

I´m not able to get a ROM on my device, this is my problem.
When I try to connect my phone using adb this is happening:

* daemon not running. starting it now on port 5037 *
* daemon started successfully *"
I tried different tips from the internet but i wasn´t able to get a connection with my phone.

If you can get your hands on a USB-OTG cable, definitely do so to get a ROM onto your phone. Have you tried MTP? If you enable MTP under Mount in TWRP, does your PC recognize it in Windows Explorer?

I have two USB-OTG cables at home. The problem is that the OnePlus 2 USB C port is no ordinary USB C port. Till now i didn´t find a cable that works, except the original one which is out of stock.
MTP is enabled but there is no difference to before.
Have tried reinstalling the drivers?
@Seesternfan
Can it be possible to get remote access to your PC, so that I can help you?
Is your USB-OTG cable a USB-C one? I use a Micro-USB USB-OTG cable with an Anker Micro-USB to USB-C adapter.
