I have an AT&T Galaxy S4. It is unlocked, but running stock 4.2.2 OS. It has run perfectly for 18 mos. It's never been wet; never suffered trauma. Today, for no apparent reason, it simply locked up. When I couldn't get it to respond after several minutes, I pulled the battery. That's when things got weird. From then on, every time I try to reboot, it gets about 3 or 4 seconds into the AT&T screen splash and then it freezes up. I tried to go into recovery (power + home + vol. up), but the screen says,
Could not do normal boot.

Q. - What do I do from here?
If it won't even boot into recovery (to the point where you could install an update from zip), then what do I do? Plug it into PC, run ODIN and install a new OS?
The phone is in download mode. If it can stay in that mode, you can connect to PC and run Odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2926642

What happened was that, i dropped my phone, i gess the battery came off somehow and it switched off. When i turned it on again it did not boot and on the top of screen it wrote: Custom binary blocked by FRP.
And under that a litte red text SECURE FAIL: KERNEL.
Does anyone have any idead how i could just flash my phone back to stock, data does not matter too much, so far since i cant go into recovery mode, when i hold home power and vol down it just restarts to the screen i previously describe.
Is my phone completely bricked?
Just go to sammobile and download your stock firmware, access download mode and flash that stock image you just downloaded, what you got is a soft brick it is easy to fix just by following the process i just described
Hello Everyone,
I'm having an issue with my S7 Edge since yesterday. I was on playing some music when my phone suddently shuts itself off. Then it boot up only to be in the bootloop issue as mentioned. I tried going to Recovery Mode but volume up and power key didnt register however I am able to enter Download mode.
Now in download mode I see the following:

About my phone, it is actually the black galaxy s7 edge duos (SM-G935FD) and running on Nougat. I'm not sure what version it was running on but when I first bought it 2 years ago, it was running on Marshmallow out of the box. I have never rooted the device nor flashed or installed any custom ROM. It was untouched but one time few months back it experienced boot-loop but was fixed when I entered recovery mode and wiped the cache. Only this time it isn't working.
Last night I tried to download 2 types of stock firmware from Sammobile for the SM-G935FD. Flashing it on Odin for both firmware worked but bootloop still exist. I still cant enter Recovery mode except Odin mode.
I don't even know where to begin.
Please help.

Just download latest firmware for your region through samfirm or updato/sammobile. Then use latest odin version from here https://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=4431597&d=1519662712
Flash using normal csc, not home csc and you will be good. Don't tick auto reboot in odin options. Don't tick anything except F.Reset. After odin says flash is successful with a pass, disconnect usb and force restart from download mode by holding power+vol down+home when screen goes black immediately change from vol down to vol up key while still holding power+home keys. It will get you in recovery. If you are still unable to get in recovery then I guess you have faulty buttons or some other hardware problem.

I won't recommend, do it on your own risk. Extract the normal csc file and there will be a pit file there.
Are there any error messages displayed in odin/phone?

Hello, what do you exactly mean by letting it bootloop for many times, i have exactly the same issue, when i flash with rom it just shows the blue erasing screen and then bootloops while beeing stuck in the samsung logo screen: do you mean i should try letting it for sometime there ?

Yes, leave it to bootloop for a while. For me I'm not sure what really happened. I was fed up with the phone bootlooping even after trying to flash it with a stock firmware (latest version) from sammobile. What I did, I just threw the phone into the bag while bootlooping because I was in a hurry to go to work (Already given up hope). By the time, I reached office (approx. 30 minutes drive) I took out the phone only to find it on the initial setup screen like when you first bought it from the store and turning it on.
Just an update: My S7 Edge is still working with no issues of bootloop. Using it for playing games and other stuff. It's no longer my daily driver phone as I have switched to SG S9.
Hi, I'm new here so I don't know where to post stuff.
My S8 (SM-G950FD Android 9.0) suddenly stopped working. I was in my office and suddenly my phone rebooted and stuck on Samsung Galaxy S8 Boot screen.
Device Details:
Name: Samsung Galaxy S8
Model: SM-G950FD
Android version: 9.0
Security patch: I think I updated it to July patch not sure.
OEM Lock: On
FRP Lock: On
RP SWREV: B:5 K:4 S:4
Region: India (INS)
USB-Debugging: probably off not sure
Problem:
I'm not able to boot my phone.
1) Recovery Mode not accessible
2) Download mode is accessible
2.1) If I press volume up after pressing Bixby + v-down + power. The phone enters in download mode.
2.2) If I press volume down then it freezes. I have to use force restart using volume-down + power.
3) On Charging it just show a screen with a circle and power icon (no charging)
What I've tried till now.
1) Flashing with Odin. (not successful) the version used were 3.13.x where x = 1, 2, 3 and 3.12.3 as well.
2) I do have the right firmware from sam-mobile (although I tried multiple after it failed)
3) I have tried repartition, pit file (extracted from CSC) and also NAND-ERASE (Odin Always Fails).
4) Multiple data cables
5) I have the Driver installed as I can see COM ports.
6) I've tried spamming the start button of Odin once it fails and it reboots into download mode.
What I've succeeded in till now
Once I tried to flash the Stock Recovery which I extracted from the AP file from the firmware.
After countless failure, it flashed. ODIN said PASS.
So I connected my charger. This time I can see the percentage of battery (Still power off) then I powered it on.
it went past the Samsung galaxy s8 screen bt got stuck on Samsung (logo) the LED was blue.
and then again it went to its previous state.
P.S. I'll be glad If someone can help me out.
Hey there I have a Galaxy S5 that was running LineageOS, I started having some trouble recharging it, couldn't figure out if it was the battery or recharger.
I decided to leave it at a repair shop and afterwards buy a new battery from them. The first day it was working normally and I left it the whole day just recharging but then it started having some problems rebooting automatically. Now it keeps "rebooting" all the time which wasn't a problem with the old battery, the Galaxy S5 logo appears then it reboots and appears again etc.
I can't boot into recovery either but strangely enough I can get into download mode without it rebooting and it seems to work fine, even unplugged from any power source, this confuses me because I thought it was the battery.
Without being connected to a USB cable:
Power: Vibrates, Galaxy S5 logo appears, "recovery booting..." appears on top left, reboots immediately afterwards (doesn't enter recovery).
Volume UP + Home + Power: Vibrates, nothing appears on screen, slight flash on the screen as if it was damaged (but it isn't).
Volume DOWN + Home + Power: Boots into download mode absolutely fine, screen working 100%, doesn't reboot (can flash normally).
Being connected to a USB cable:
As soon as I connect it, the phone automatically tries to turn on as if I pressed the Power button ("recovery booting..." appears on top left), keeps rebooting as mentioned before, if I remove the battery while keeping it plugged in, it keeps doing the same thing but the Galaxy S5 Logo lasts longer on the screen and no "recovery booting..." appears on top left.
Volume UP + Home + Power: Same as just pressing Power mentioned before, keeps rebooting as mentioned but no slight flashes and screen works unlike when unplugged.
Volume DOWN + Home + Power: Boots into download mode absolutely fine, screen working 100%, doesn't reboot (can flash normally).
What I've tried so far:
Flash original ROM with Odin, flashed fine but still rebooting.
Flash TWRP on top of original ROM with Odin, flashed fine but still rebooting.
Flash "G900MUBU1BOE1_IUS1BOE1_v5.0_Repair_Firmware" along with the included .pit file, flashed fine but still rebooting.
Flash https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-s5/firmware/SM-G900M/ZVV/download/G900MUBU1CPF2/88002/, flashed fine but still rebooting.
Flash "G900MUBU1BOK3", flashed fine but still rebooting.
Flash "G900MUBU1ANG3", flashed fine but still rebooting.

Anyone knows what could be the cause? If more info is needed on model, battery etc let me know.
Thanks in advance.

No luck
Same problem here, with a G900I. No luck, I've tried two "4 file" repair firmwares with repartitioning and one stock single file, no luck either.
Im pretty noob at these kind of things, long story short, I got myself a old 2018 Galaxy tab A (It was a demo unit as i work in retail and these tablets were going to get thrown away) so i grabbed myself one and i was trying to flash the stock firmware to remove demo mode and to upgrade to Android 10. When trying to flash with Odin (Downloaded official firmware from sammobile) Odin just crashed out and closed down, and when i rebooted the device i can no longer get into the OS, i cannot get into recovery mode AND i cannot get into download mode.
I have tried rebooting many times, I get the boot screen (ONLY by holding power and vol + and - at same time) and once it tries to boot i get a screen (looks like the initial loading of recovery mode) where it says installing system update, (blue screen with the android logo) then a few text comes up FOR about half a second then the device just goes black and i cannot do anything. Is there any way i can restore this device and try to reflash, changing cables, and downloading a different version of odin. If not i will just have to throw it away as it cost me nothing anyways. but wanted to use it as a gift.
