Hello two days ago I don't know what happened but I had to give root permission to all apps again and noticed that when some SMS me I receive sms with a phone number not a contact name. And today I added one person to contacts and she texted me and noticed that Her name poped up. So Is there a way to fiq it istead of dealting all contacts? or editing Thanks

Is there a small utility that will allow me to copy numbers from the call history and add new numbers to exisitng contacts instead of only new contacts on my mda compact?
when i right click i often have to chose send txt msg then copy the number which takes forever
also, if you add to a new number and then delete it it enters the number in the history as either unnamed or unknown caller. if you add this number to an existing contact it doesn't update the list? is this normal or is it just my phone? is there a way to update the list from the existing contacts list?
many thanks in advance
I have a big problem with my hd2, because it is handling the sms and phone numbers wrong:
If I place my Countrycode in front of my numbers the contacts getting found in the sms (Someone writes a sms of the number with countrycode and I get the name above his sms). If I get called by the person, it only shows his number.
But If I place a "0" in front of his number, without the countrycode, in the sms tab only his number is visible, without his name, BUT I recieve his name when he calls me?!
Anyone knows how to fix?

Do you have duplicate contacts? One on phone and one on SIM card?
I only have contacts on my phone...
Did a search for this and I didn't see anything so If I missed it, sorry just point me to it. I'm having an issue with the names of my contacts not showing up in the call log or on text messages. If I go to the actual contacts section all the names are there but if anyone calls me or texts me it just says (unknown) and then there phone number but If text someone it shows there name but then when they text back it shows as a new message (not in the same group as the message I sent) and does the same thing with (unknown) and there phone number (even though when I sent the original text there name showed. (Hope that all made sense)
I have checked and all of my contacts are in the actual contacts section so I know everything is syncing ok I just can't figure out why there names wont show up in calls, call logs or texts. Any Ideas?
Hi, I'm not sure is this has been answered or not but when i open a new sms and add the contact it will send the message fine. But when i go back to that same thread and try to send another message it wont send. I did notice that when I add the contact for a new message there is just their normal number no problem but once i leave that message and come back there is a "+" in front of the number and not allowing it to send. I'm not using any SMS apps or anything. So far this has only happened with 2 of my contacts. Ive gone into the contacts within my phone and gmail and there are no "+" in front of the numbers. Anyone know how to fix this??? Droid X
I have the same problem with one contact i just went arount the stock testing and set up a google voice for texting. one plus is i no longer need a unlimited texting plan just the 5.00 250 message plan.
I've had a problem sending SMS messages to one (and only one) of my contacts. Unfortunately it is the contact I text the most, so it's a real pain.
When I first set up the phone, it synced all the contacts from gmail and facebook.
Unfortunately this particular contact had their number on Facebook as ++44 (0) 7123 123456, which my phone stored as +4407123 123456 (which is incorrect as when you have the international "+44" you need to get rid of the 0).
I changed it manually on the phone to +447123123456, and my friend changed it on Facebook.
Now I can compose new texts to this person and they send ok, but whenever I reply in the conversation thread my message fails to send.
When I check the message details on the failed message it says "To: +4407123123456", with the rogue zero back in place, even though I can't find that zero anywhere in the contact entry.
I've tried deleting the whole conversation thread, but that hasn't helped. This problem happens in the stock SMS app and also in Handcent.
Any ideas how I can fix this? The incorrect number must be stored somewhere, but I can't find it
