help ASAP possible bricked phone!!! please - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I recently (like 5 minutes ago) rooted my lg g2 ls980 from sprint and it was fine. it wasnt until i tried to flash a cyanogenmod nightly, the latest one for cm11 on my phone and now its stuck in a boot loop. Ive tried to boot it into recovery but it wont work when i press the buttons (home and vol. down). Im freaking out, and ill admit it im just an ameture and didnt really know what I was doing, but I just got this phone as a replacement for my stolen phone and my parents will kill me if we have to pay a fortune for sprint to fix it if they even can. im using the latest version of twrp I think for the ls980 but it wont let me boot into it. help please as soon as possible. thank you!! Hopefully people still watch this forum I know its a little dated

you flashed over wrong radio you needed this zv8 modem from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451426 , if you can access recovery vol down + power button than flash ls980 zv8 radio and it will boot, if not than just go back to stock, see steps below.
download firmwarehttp://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Sprint/LS980ZVA_01.zip
and dllhttp://storagecow.eu/Xda/LG G2/Stock/Sprint/LGLS980_20130904_LGFLASHv151.dll
and divers http://oceanhost.eu/ed0bnrnghgef/LGUnitedMobileDriver_S51MAN312AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.12.3.exe.htm
and flashtool http://oceanhost.eu/nskpvk76ezvp/Setup_LGFlashTool_1.8.1.1023.exe.htm
and megalock.dll http://oceanhost.eu/o9n2mef5f2no/MegaLock.dll.htm
Install:
1. Install the LG drivers downloaded above.
2. Install LGFlashTools v1.8 (but don't run it)
3. Extract the TOT file from the ZIP
When LG Flash Tool is installed, do not launch it.
7) Copy MegaLock.dll to C:\LG\LGFlashTool, This is a hidden folder so enable "hidden folders". Replace the old MegaLock.dll file if you have already installed LG Flash Tool on your computer.
8) When the firmware is downloaded, boot your LG G2 into Download Mode. To do this, press and hold the Volume Up key and then plug the USB cable.
9) Launch LG Flash Tool.
You might see a window with Korean language, just click on OK.
Check the Select Manual Mode on the top.
10) MAKE SURE UNDER, DEVICE MANAGER, YOUR PORT IS SET TO COM 41 FOR YOUR DEVICE.
11) Click the DLL box and choose the dll file from above for you phone model.
12) Click the S/W box and select the firmware file with .tot extension.(the 2.04 gb file from above)
13) Now click the Yellow arrow button on the top left of the main window.
The firmware installation will be triggered.
Ignore if you see any temporary error and just wait patiently till it is finished.
Do not close the Flash Tool window.
14) Press and hold power button until phone turns off, leaving usb cable connected to device AND computer ,immediately hold volume up button until phone boots it into Download Mode.
Your LG G2 will restart showing firmware installation progress in percent (%).
When all is done, reboot your phone and enjoy!

That was for android 2.1 with fastboot, if you just want the upgrade to 2.1 then your done.
If not, the next step is to get clockwork recovery
Clockwork Recovery v 2.5.0.5

2.once the Clockwork recovery rom.kdz file has been installed switch off your phone
3.download android sdk off android developers website and extract into your C drive

if you want to have clockwork with original 2.1 rom then repeat steps 5-11 from UPGRADE with the first .kdz file
if you want the black quarx 2.1 then carry on reading.
Black Quarx ROM
1.get your phone and if its on turn it off. hold power button and camera button until the lg logo goes and screen is black
2.download black system.7z and extract to your desktop
3.and run flash.cmd as administrator then plug in your phone whilst its screen is black.
4.it should start executing commands.if it still says "waiting for device" then post a reply.
5.the phone will automatically reboot when finished. it may take long to reboot but its not like that normally, its just got a lot to load.

how to use clockworks recovery
when phone is off, press and hold power and home button to switch on in clockworks recovery mode.
to scroll up or down use volume buttons.
to select press call button.
to cancel or go back press end call button.
DONT DO THIS
If you follow this, and flash with fastboot rom, you cannot flash anymore with original rom.
For now I suggest that you flash with original rom only.

[Q] [FIXED] Enter your PIN/PASSWORD to decrypt

I just updated my lg g2 recently, but i had an problem just after entered the PIN sim card! A blank page showing with a text and textbox saying "Enter your PIN/PASSWORD to decrypt"! I'm sure that before update i didn't enter any password.
And when i search i find that i can go to Factory Reset, But i follow the steps to go Factory Reset. I'm getting just logo LG and then my phone restart again,
if you had any idea how can i fix this problem, it we'll be great!
Thanks XDA Members.
[FIX] : There is no other solution, You should just Flash by using Factory Reset, And in my case i can't access to factory reset, I used the LGFlashTool method.
Thanks for every one who helped me.
Pretty sure you'll have to kdz flash.
What method are you applying to go to factory reset?
Proper method:
Power the device down.
Press and hold the Volume down button and the Power button.
When the LG logo is displayed release the Power button only then immediately press and hold the Power button again.
Release both buttons when the Factory hard reset screen appears.

Any help how can i flash it! remember that i can't open Factory Reset! And if you have any tuto please mp me. Thanks for your help in advance.
1)Find and Download the corresponding kdz for your model (there's a thread somewhere on xda that has all the kdz files for almost every model) EDIT: I found it, here's the link to the files
http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/LG+G2/Stock/
2) Download LG mobile support tool and Install it. (It will open up when its done just CLOSE IT OFF)
3) Download / Install FlashTool (R&D Test Tool)
http://www.mediafire.com/?zrt9jvalv83wn62
Power off your phone, press Volume Up & and then plug in the usb cable (enter to a download mode/upgrade mode)
5) Extract FlashTool and run UpTestEX.exe
6) In R&D Test Tool window,
Select Type = 3GQCT (top left hand side)
PhoneMode = DIAG (top right hand side)
Select kdz file = click to select your LG stock rom *.kdz
Click "Normal web upgrade test" (bottom right hand side)
Then another window will pop up, click "Upgrade Start" button
wait a few seconds, another window "Select Country & Language" pop up,
=> Country=Republic of Korea
=> Language=English
you can click ok to proceed
7) All Done and wait for finish!

Support inquiry
Hi Swizzle82
I would like to ask for the same ...
LG G2 32 GB from HK , today made update by LG PC Suite to software ver D80220B, after restart I stocked with PIN/ Password to decrypt inquiry ...
What to do ? I have followed your suggestions but it doesn't work ..
Frankly speaking I have only tried with D80220A ver , to downgrade the phone
But after switching to LG Mobile , it still downloading the newest version again - the effect after restart was the same , inquiry for PIN/ Password .
I have noticed that after switching language and location from Poland to Korean Republic - it showed in LG mobile support tool , two options ... one of them was to get your PIN - but unfortunately I need to register and www was in Korean ..
Any ideas , hints - I will appreciate your kind support

Same problem here.
I'm on the lg g2 D802.
Initially I did it using the LG Flash tool method, however, I did not get the region and language pop up. So I proceed to flash it from the lg support tool.
When I had done this previously (at around the time of the official kitkat release) I had gotten that pop up and all had gone well.
But this time perhaps because of the me using the lg support tools directly, it is now asking for password/pin to decrypt and the hard reset key combinations don't work.
Could this be because I'm currently using windows 8 and I was earlier on Windows 7?
Thanks in Advance
Problem Solved (Sort of)
Earlier when I was using the Flash.Tool.1.0.54, it wouldn't ask for region and language in the pop-up. It would just open the LG Mobile Support Tool and then I manually selected the Start Upgrade button to flash the phone. The problem with this was that on boot it would ask for pin/password. I couldn't even boot into the stock recovery for some reason.
Then I used the LG Flash tool 2014: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
There was a region and language pop up and it proceeded to install the firmware.
But on boot, it still asked for the pin/password. So I tried to boot into and it worked this time! Pressed the power button 3 times and it wiped my phone.
On reboot, the phone worked perfectly without asking for the pin/password. But, now it was reading my internal storage as only 16GB. Thankfully there is a solution to this over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2470207
It worked perfectly for me.
Well, I'm using a L50 d227, I've done everything from Vol down + power >> factory reset >> erase user data to LG flash tool, downloaded kdz for my phone, flashed it sucessfully and when it boots, it asks me for a pin to decrypt.... HELP!

bricked my phone ?

Hello,
i got my LG G2 today and i rooted it no problem and i was able to boot into recovery, but after i installed a newer version of TWRP i must have done something wrong now there is no TWRP there is only factory reset and i keep getting "security error" on boot up and cant get past it, i can get into firmware update but i tired to update it and it starts the update well it downloads it and notting else happens after this please tell me there some way to fix this
One suggestion? Don't mod or root your new phone the first day, you MUST use it for minimum two week with stock rom LG. ( according to me )
But getting back to your question, I also had your same problem. And I solved with LG's Launcher (computer program), I made a reset using a KDZ already downloaded.
Download The Appropriate Firmware file and Extract the zip, if required. Download and install LG support Tool.
Download and install LG Flash Tool. Download LG G2 USB Drivers if you need. Turn off your LG G2 and boot into Download Mode, press and Hold Volume Up Key and Plug in the USB Cable. Extract the LG Flash Tool and double click the UpTestEX.exe
Once the Flash Tool is Open, Change the select type to 3GQCT*and change the phone mode to DIAG. Click the select KDZ option file and select the .KDz extention file from the downloaded firmware folder.
Click Normal Web Upgrade Test. Now wait a moment and you will see a pop-up window, showing you the phone information. Click Upgrade Start Button. After a few seconds, there will be another pop-up asking you the Language and Country. As country, Select Republic Of Korea and Language English. Finally click OK to proceed the installation. When the Flashing is done, your LG G2 will reboot, don’t forget to do a Factory Reset. To do it, press and Hold Volume Down + Power Buttons until you see the Phone screen.
Try. Good luck

[Q] Completely lost my device? (After flashing some ROMs)

Hello fellow people...
So, my lovely Android (LG P700) is stuck in a bootloop. So, here's the story of my phone:
1) I bought it and eventually managed to root it.
2) The same day I installed CyanogenMod 10. Everything worked so fine.
3) Later I upgraded to KitKat prime (Based on CM11). Pretty darn fine, but it was laggy like hell.
4) So I decided to downgrade back to CM10. It worked, BUT THEN - it ignored my SIM card completely and when dialed *#06# I found that my IMEI got torn off my phone.
5) So I installed AOKP KitKat. Was REALLY good but it didn't have some crucial-to-me options, so I found somewhat tasty...
6) And I installed the Pac-Man ROM. And something went quite wrong, because it only booted every third time, else it gave black screen, but everything worked really fine. But later, I noticed that Wi-Fi won't turn on, so guess what...
7) AND WHAM! MY WORST MISTAKE! Wait for it... I decided to install the Phenom kernel (Idiot me, it was made for CM10...), TADAA!
8) After the LG icon it gave me 3 random stripes distorted and pink in color. And the recovery is nothing but black screen.
9) So I tried to flash rooted v20d kdz to it... Nope. Only stuck on stock boot animation and the three button combo won't work, no recovery, no black screen, no data wipe option.
10) I used the official KDZ updater... Same sh* as 9).
11) Tried flashing rooted v10k... NOPE, the flasher is throwing the error: WParam: 4, IPARAM:1002.
NOTICE - Yes, I did data/cache/dalvik/system wipes everytime when I upgraded my ROM/changed kernels. I also used GApps every time.
Anyone can help me?
Thanks in advance!

I had almost the same problem yesterday. My phone could go to emergency mode. If yours too then try this. Download the V20a ROM with root and CMW (it's really important to use this one): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2214717 (thanks Homero2 so much!),
- Installed the msxml file in the KDZ folder
- Run KDZ_FW_UPD.exe as administrator
- Set it to 3GQCT and DIAG, open the V20a kdz file and press "Launch software update"
- I still got a lparam error, but here's the great thing about this ROM. Even though I still got a bootloop, I MANAGED TO GET INTO RECOVERY! Instructions: Press the power button and the volume - button at the same time. When capacitive buttons turn up, press the menu button. When LG logo appears, release the power button. (REMEMBER: VOLUME "-" BUTTON AND MENU BUTTON NOT HOME....
- Recovery shows up.
- After that, I pushed a downloaded ROM (zip file) to my SD card and installed it via CMW succesfully!
Use CPA rom for p700/005 this time, it bugless and remember to factory data reset.
Hope it helps you!

Thanks a lot, but... recovery won't turn on, everytime I try to push vol-/menu/power button combo nothing happens and the phone tries to boot up as it would normally leaving it in an infinite bootscreen... Btw, my home button is broken and the vol- button is brokenish and I need a few tries to press it normally AND the captive button lights, well... they won't turn on anytime, just dark touch-able areas and that's all. I'll try to get to recovery though.
EDIT: BTW, you sure it's DIAG not EMERGENCY?

bricked lg g2 d802, stuck on lg logo, can't access download or recovery modes

Hi, i think i bricked my lg g2 d802. Long story short, the phone won't boot into recovery (stock, not custom recovery) or download mode. Even if i enter download mode, the phone would get stuck on the download mode with dots below it or something, basically it won't actually boot into download mode. The phone is stuck on the lg logo with the multicolor led flashing. All button combinations are working. Please please please do help me I'm really desperate to fix it since the last 3 days. Thanks.

Hi.
Download mode is when you press and hold the volume up key and plug the usb into a computer. Youll get a black screen with a box that says download. Nothing else will happen until you get the correct software.
If you can get it into the download mode, you will need the LG Flash tool, the LG drivers, the stock rom for your phone and about 15 minutes of your time.
LG Flash tool and LG Drivers from here ----> http://lgflashtool.com/
Stock Rom from here -----> http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G2%2FStock%2F
How to:
Install LG Drivers.
Extract the stock rom KDZ from zip file.
Run the flash tool and where it says "select KDZ file", browse to where you unzipped the stock rom you downloaded and select the file.
Hold down the volume up button on your phone and plug it into your computer by USB. Your phone will have a black screen and a blue box that says "Download". If it doesn't, you're not in download mode. Try again.
Once in download mode, Click "CSE Flash" in the flash tool
In the next window click "Start"
Now give it around 10 minutes to flash. You'll see the progress on the phone screen. Once done the phone will reboot and you'll be up and running again.
Hope this helps.

Hi, thanks for your reply. But i fixed it using srktool method by shorting the capacitors.
As i said , i could not boot into download mode. Lg flash tool works only when the phone can boot into download mode afaik. Luckily, i was able to boot into qhsusb_bulk mode and fix the phone using srktool. Now i can boot into download mode. Anyways, i fixed it. Thanks for your help

Make sure you find the proper ones. You need to remove the metal shield thing before shorting. It requires a lot of patience to short those caps properly. Once do you do it properly, the screen backlight should light up. Good luck
