I've had this problem a lot of times:silly:. I went to bootmenu and formatted system and data to ext4, then rebooted. After that I was somehow able to restore my backup.

Try restoring from adb. Google it, there are many guides.
EDIT - You can try this - Edit the ROM zip to delete files you don't need, flash the zip, then extract the files you changed from the system backup archive and paste in system using ES File Explorer and reboot.
well, in the end i installed from scratch via flashing,
i also tried to restore via adb but it did not recognize the nandroid-mobile.sh restore command.
google revealed that is not possible on cwm based recoverys? as far as i understood (no linux guy) nandroid is just a set of scripts, so i was missing that script?
anyway i could save some time with pulling aps and data via nandroid manager when i had a working system again. still i am a bit unsecure now concerning trying out stuff, fearing that i again would not be able to restore a nandroid backup

[Q] Titanium Backup error on NG2

Hy.
I just installed the new NG2 on my S5 (SM-G900F) and I cannot restore my apps with Titanium Backup. It always froze.
My phone is rooted by CF-AutoRoot.
What can I do now?
The app itself freezes? Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling it? Did you flash a rom or just update it and reroot? More information would be helpful.

I deleted all user data (chose the "Wipre for install a new rom" option), cache and dalvik with PhilZ Touch before I installed the new Rom with Odin 3.07.
The ROM was an original NG2 (if it is important the csc is VDH (Vodafone Hungary) because I live here)
After I installed the recovery with Odin 3.07 too and then a CF-AutoRoot.
After the new rom, recovery and CF-AutoRoot I did cache/dalvik/user data wipe.
Then I let the google play restore and update the free apps (which was not downloaded from a torrent site or somewhere else).
I tried the Titanium Backup (Licensed) to restore the other apps. But always froze. Sometimes at 0% or 15% or 57% or I do not know. The problem is not caused by 1 app. It always different. Oh and one other thing. Every time I wipe cache/dalvik/user data the Titanium Backup gave me a pop-up message that the Android ID is different and it can be restored by TB. But I never did it because it was not a problem before.
After that I clear all user data from recovery multiple times and start over the full process but the results are same. I tried in the Terminal Emulator use a command (restorecon -r -v /data/data) but it did not helped.
So this is how the Titanium Backup do not work. Before it was good when I did it (from S4 to S5 but that was a 3 months ago. I made a newer backup yesterday).
Can somebody help me?
Maybe it's a corrupted backup. I have never seen titanium backup freeze before.
That is not corrupted. Original Titanium Backup license. Titanium Backup from google play and Pro with a paid e-mail address. And if you mean the backup is corrupted is not. Because there was no problem when I made it.
Did you go through the problem and troubleshooting section?

How to restore/extract from NANDROID backup made with TWRP 2.8.x.x?

So the phone was going crazy with frequent FCs so I decided to wipe it clean and install a new Resurrection Remix ROM.
Did a nandroid with TWRP 2.8.x.x before wiping and now I have trouble restoring in the new ROM using titanium backup PRO. In TB, I can get to the app selection screen and when the loading bar appears, it never gets past 0%. But it just magically says restore completed after some time. None of the app I chose ever gets restored.
So now I'm trying to extract the apps and data on a PC, and copying them into the phone manually. Question is, how do I get my hands on the files (extensions *.win000,*.win001...) in the nandroid?
I'm not sure about extracting it on a PC as I've never tried, but I believe the archives are multi-part tar.gz files.
If all else fails, you can use an app like Nandroid Manager to browse/extract the contents of a backup.

Stuck at boot screen after restoring ány Nandroid backup.

Hey,
I've had this problem for ages now, and always gave up on my data, but now I really want to fix this for good.
Yesterday I was ready to update my CM12 nightly to the lastest version (didn't see it was actually CM13), and did a backup in cwm before the update. The backup succeeded, but it gave the message that .android_secure couldn't be found and it didn't back that up. It always gives me this message after a backup and after google searching, it seems to me that it doesn't matter.
After installing the update, I noticed it was CM13, and my gapps wasn't updated to the marshmellow stock, as expected, so errors occured all the time.
I didn't want to upgrade to CM13 just yet, so I decided to restore my backup.
As always, the restore process goes without errors, but upon reboot I'm stuck at the CM logo. I can wait untill the battery is dead or ignites from the heat, but nothing happens. This has also happened to me every time I make a backup. I've watched about every video on youtube on how to do a proper backup and how to restore one, so I'm confident that I did it right.
For some reason, any backup I make, no matter what android version (didn't work with stock kitkat, either, before I switched to CM12) it never works and I'm forced to do a clean install and start over again.
I've tried to do partial restores from the backup file, and if I only restore the data partition (and wipe dalvik) It does boot, but gives me non stop errors that apps are crashing.
I've tried to do a dirty flash to no avail, always endless error messages.
When I do a clean install and check the MK5 of the backup with nandroid manager it gives no errors.
Is there anything wrong with my phone or something? I'm not making backups to be unable to restore them.
Can anyone help me out with this?
(I have a i9505)
Try a different recovery. CWM is outdated. TWRP is nice. Worked for ne every time. There are TWRP flashable zips so you won't have to mess around with Odin.

Won't changing recovery make my old backups useless? I'm all for changing to TWRP, but first I'd love to restore my CWM backup...
Yes it will. Unfortunately I don't know what to suggest. Haven't used CWM since I switched to the S4.

Restore my apps from previous device

I wanted to clean flash something but when I select "restore from a previous device" (from my 6p) in the Google account setup part when starting a fresh phone the setup wizard responds "couldn't restore from backup" with an option to skip or try again. I've done it in the past so I know it works. Same device and the backup is current from that day. I've searched and found nothing. Ive tried a couple times. But it takes so long to wipe sys data cache dalvik, then flash the latest zip and gapps, then attempt to restore, then after that failing restoring an 11gb twrp backup Anybody know anything about this?
