That's a good question.
They have made it like this, to make handwriting with the S-Pen on the screen possible. It will ignore all touches from your hand.

Two finger tap

I have this question (idea):
Isn't it going to be nice to have the Two Finger Tap as a "command" available all the time in Win Mobile? This way every time you do a Two Finger Tap it would act like pressing a hardware button and run a certain app.
It could run for instance SPB's AltTab application or any other. Or it can close/minimize the current window. Using a program like AE Button Plus you can assign various actions to it...
Two Finger Tap is working in Car Kit NaviPanel mode very well and is really useful there. Why not everywhere?
Has anybody heard about any possibility to make the Leo "understand" the Two Finger Taps?
you mean something like LMT Launcher?

home button alternative?

i tend to use stylus a lot and i can even use it on soft key buttons which is great, i always want to use home button function without pressing the actual button. Is there a motion gesture or anything similar that would allow me to go to home screen?
Basically i would like to avoid pressing the home button with finger all the time.

try button saviour
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smart.swkey.nonroot&hl=en
or you can use the one included in the note, just go settings and then accessibility, in there just activate the assistant menu it's pretty good

use swipe home button. Works perfectly with Spen. Just set sensitivity to large inside its settings if it is not that responsive.
thanks guys i liked the samsung accessibility one but i thought it was too laggy to open up and then its always floating
i then found perfect simple app called 'Home Button', its always in notifications and you simply click it
Try floating toucher on google play.
Gmd pen gestures. You create the gestures you need for whatever functions. I've got press pen button swipe down for notifications and up for home..

Recommendation

It would be great if someone made an app/mod which will make a little touch home button above the real button every time we take out the S Pen, so we wouldn't have to use the finger to click the home button or recent apps.

Question about use of sensor on back

I love that I can tap the back heart rate sensor to take pictures instead of tapping the on screen button. My question is this.
Is it possible, once rooted, to somehow use the sensor to take screenshots instead of the karate chop hand swipe or removing the s pen? I think it would be very useful if possible.

Pretty sure...but you can also use the Power+Home button to take a screenshot. Push and hold both buttons down.

[GUIDE] Use Gesture Controls to avoid having to use Physical Buttons

If you're like me and you don't really like the soft-keys, you should also like this workaround. So I absolutely dislike having to press the physical home button especially since I'm coming from a history of Nexus devices and the fact that it throws off the balance of the device annoys me. (Yes, I know it's an extremely shallow problem haha)
My workaround was to use on-screen buttons. However, the screen is already 5 inches so I didn't want to use any screen real estate for buttons. Came across an app called All-In-One Gestures that lets you create gesture actions. If it's something that sounds interesting to you, you should give it a try as it makes navigating much more intuitive (opinion, of course).
My setup is currently a swipe up from the bottom of the screen in the middle for home, swipe diagonally from the left edge for back, and swipe diagonally from the right for multitasking. So if I'm using it left handed, a swipe will go back and a touch of the closest button will be multitasking, and if I'm using it right handed, a swipe will open the multitasking tray while a touch to the closest button will go back. It's proven really efficient for me!

There is also an option for an on screen button(s) under settings >accessibility >dexterity and interaction>assistant menu. It sits as an button over the top of everything on screen and you can edit it to set different options and order of buttons. It might not have the gesture option but still pretty useful.

One more alternative, fingerprint sensor as touch home key.

There's a reason why the S7 didn't come with Soft-Keys, it's because it uses an AMOLED Panel. Prolonged display of bright colors causes burn in, ( you can try checking the S7s at the retail store as those have burned in displays ). Hardware keys would be better to avoid this. Its also the reason why the objects on the Always On Display move around every now and then, its to preven't burnins

1. Easyhome doesnt causes amoled burn-in.
Fingerprint sensor short touch is registered as home key.
Once again, fingerprint sensor.
2. Method described in OP is also burn-in free, in settings is possible to adjust transparency of "home area" to zero, therefore no object is permanently displayed.
