[Q] Notification sound - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

At maximum 30 minutes, the phone gives me the notification sound without anything appearing in my notification bar.
When installing a new application uncheck notifications.
How do I find the application gives me the notification sound? -Without enable notifications to all applications or take them in turn to verify.
The phone is not rooted.

[Q] evo kill message notification in task bar

I'm using ChompSMS on my Sprint EVO and love it, but after I answer my text message, the notification stays in the task bar until I pull down the task/notification bar and "clear it". I'm running froyo and when in my standard factory messages app, press "menu" but there's no "settings." When using my standard factory message app, after I view and/or answer a message, the notification in the task bar goes away. But with ChompSMS, it doesn't, thus requiring me to remove it manually (I'm also running call notification so it beeps at me every two minutes until I clear it manually). Any way to stop messages from appearing in the notification bar? Or is that mandatory for my "call notification" to work? Any way to make chompsms clear the notification after viewing and/or answering the text?
Go to the stock message app and uncheck received notification. Use chomp settings for your notifications.

Anybody know what this sign means ?

I'm running android 5.0 on my nexus 7 and I got this weird sign of a circle with a line through it and I can't seem to remove it.
Anybody know what it is ?

Here you go...
(With Lollipop, Android finally has a proper " Do Not Disturb" mode, something OEMs have added to the platform themselves for years. Integrated into the volume controls are buttons to control incoming notifications. You*can pick between categories of "All," "Priority," and "None," for allowed notifications, and you*can set the device to revert back to "All" after a certain number of hours have passed.
"Priority Notifications" can mean several things depending on what you set as "priority" in the settings. It can be set to allow only notifications from contacts, only notifications from*starredcontacts, or notifications from anyone. There are also toggles to include "Events and reminders," "Calls," or "Messages" as priority notifications. There is also a schedule-able "Downtime" that will automatically turn on*priority mode at certain times and days of the week. Now when you want your phone to automatically shut up at night, you can finally set it to leave you alone*while still allowing really important messages through.
The current notification mode is displayed in the status bar. When the mode is set to "None," a "No" symbol (a circle with a line through it) shows up in the notification bar. If it's set to "Priority," the symbol changes to a star. "All" is considered normal and doesn't get an icon. No matter what the mode is, all notifications are always listed in the notification panel. These settings just control alert sounds, Heads Up notifications, and notification LED flashes)

[Q] no notification sounds, speakers and audio clips work

When an alert, such as a text message, facebook message, or calendar alarm triggers on my Nexus 4 (5.0.1 lollipop, all stock no root), no sound is generated. The LED blinks and the phone vibrates (which is nice) but the audible alert is missing. The ringtone thankfully works, as well as my alarm clock and pandora, so I know that the speakers are operational. I checked every setting I can locate in reference to notifications, including volume settings, notification tones, app notification settings, and so on. Priority and Silent are NOT selected, volume is basically at max, and I have custom tones set up for mostly every app that will allow me to select one. No apps have notifications suppressed. The tones work when I select them in the menu, and the problem does not seem to care what specific tone is used.
The phone was factory reset Saturday (2 days ago) when I switched to it from my last device. Any insight as to what I should check next?
update: i rebooted into safe mode and was successfully able to get notifications when i sent myself a text from another number and an email. google rep recommended i remove apps one by one until notifications work again, since it was seemingly a problem with one of the third party apps. but of course, after i boot the phone into regular mode, it works fine will monitor and update thread if i lose notifications again.
tl;dr reboot your phone before you make a post lol

Can't change voicemail notification settings...

In the Phone app, I go to Settings/Calls/Voicemail and uncheck vibration and select a different sound... the settings seem to stick, but the notification always vibrates and plays the default notification sound.
I have added 'storage' to the Phone apps permissions. Anyone else seeing this?
