[Discussion] Calling Nexus owner's

Hey. I have not owned a Nexus phone before. I'm thinking of buying the incoming Nexus 5, and my question to you is: Since Nexus uses clean android version, do you feel that it lacks some features that other manufacturers add to their flagships?
As a Xperia user, i use some of the custom firmware features, but does the Nexus phone lacks something in particular that you require?
Any Nexus user's opinion about the usage of the device and their opinion about it's customization would be great .
No absolutely not.
The only thing that would be nice is a function to 'torch' the flash of the phone while in lockscreen.

Nexus 7 and Android Auto

Has anyone attempted to port Android Auto to the nexus 7? Considering how great the n7 is as an in-dash unit, this would really enhance the experience.

Android Auto
Android Auto is in Android L.
Your phone needs to have Android L on it, which will then produce the screen for your car.
I too, am looking at using the Nexus 7 (or 9) as the dash for my car.
It does look possible as it is mentioned in the Android Auto Developer website, as possible.
We need to wait for the Android Auto SDK in order to do this.
When Android L is released (which should be this month), I imagine that is when the SDK will be released, and many people will be posting how to use your Nexus 7 as the Android Auto screen for your car!

WhatsApp phone calls

It is now possible to make VoIP calls with http://goo.gl/fNBRXW In my opinion the audio quality is not as good as Hangouts or Skype
What do you want to hear?
Today I did a WhatsApp call with my galaxy nexus and the quality was OK for me. I was on wlan connection, not mobile data.
Try it yourself and decide if the quality is good or bad.
Greetings from Germany.
PS. Just update to android 5.1 on my grouper and it is usable again. Much better than on 5.0.2.

Thanks, I get cut outs, so it is rather choppy. Am on Nexus 9 with 5.01 - still waiting for 5.1!

Notifications not working after Android N preview 3 Update

Not getting any notifications on my watch, Casio wsd-f10 after the Android N preview 3 update. I will get phone call notifications but not others (SMS, email, hangouts, etc). The notifications work fine on my Nexus 6
Have tried all the resets and re-pairing. Anyone else having any issues?

There is an problem with the android wear app in general. Since the last app update it doesn't work well on my s7e. Sometimes the app doesn't even find my watch

Same problem on my s6. I just turn airplane mode on watch for a moment and it connects fine after that

I wonder if it is the Android wear app or the Android n preview. Because I have reverted back to several different versions of the Android wear apk, and no change.

I'm on 6.0.1 and have the same issue since a while. So it's most Likely caused by an app.

I'm also having the same problem since updating from 6.0.1 to N preview 3. It was suggested in this reddit thread that a factory reset will fix the problem but I haven't tried it yet.
Are you referring to a factory reset on the phone or watch?

I am also on 6.01 and since a few weeks ago my LG Urbane vibrates for notifications but I don't get any popups. I suspect that the vibrations are coming from Light Flow, since the test notifications from the Android Wear app do nothing on my watch. I rooted my watch around the same time in order to use Wear Shell, but that doesn't seem to be related either.
I have unpaired and reset the watch, cleared cache and data from the Android Wear app, but no change. Hopefully Google or someone can figure out what's going on and get it fixed.

Can we flash Android wear on LEMFO LEM5 smart watche?

Hello everyone,
I am just wondering if it is possible to root this great piece of technology and flash android wear on it instead of having a full android 5.1.1. Please assist if this could possibly be achievable.
Thanks
No. Not possible without source code.
Happy to be proven wrong....

Then, is it a smartwatch or a smartphone in the shape of a watch?
