hello
this is my first time on here and my first android phone,
i need your help, i had a rooted note 4 4.4.4 snapdragon phone i wanted to reset it all, but when i did all i get now is a recovery booting..... message and then installing system update..... and its flashing all the time, its been stuck on there for 2 hours and i have restarted it, tried the volume home and power button but nothing is working ,
please help
Paul
Pull the battery. Then boot into recovery . [press and hold simultaneously Volume Up, Home and Power/Release the buttons when the screen flickers and then wait for the Recovery Mode main screen to appear.]
Choose wipe data/clear cache. That shouldt do it
i tried all that the only thing to work was reflashing root on to it, i don't know if that was a good thing or not but at the moment its working, and restarting fine,
If its working fine now..youre problem is solved..:fingers-crossed:
Still working ok, if there was a update for my phone what would be the best way of updating
it wont let me do it on my phone ota its saying to update on pc,
How do i unroot and update to factory reset for me to restart over?

You will have to flash the update using Samsung kies on your computer. Your Knox will be tripped since you've flashed cf auto root, so carrier OTA updates won't work (even if you unroot)

I was trying to root my Galaxy Note 3, KitKat, SM-N900T with Odin 3.9. Everything went fine and I got the PASS! message. I disconnect the phone and I expected the automatic booting. That never happened. The screen started to flash the RECOVERING ROOTING (blue), RECOVERING IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING (red) and SET WARRANTY BIT : RECOVERY(yellow). Nothing that I did after that worked to get rid of those messages. I wonder if my new phone is bricked now or if I have a chance of recover it. Taking the battery out and putting in again plus holding all the buttons doesn't stop the messages from flashing. Please help!

Thank you for the suggestion but no idea how to do it with a phone stuck in the booting screen. Any help on how to get rid of it? Once that is done then I can proceed with your steps.
Take the battery out, put back in (dont turn back on)and hold volume up, home and power button. It'll take you into download mode.
Then flash your stock ROM via Odin

I tried that many times. It doesn't take me to the download mode but again to the screen I mentioned. Frustrating!..
It just keeps bootlooping you mean?
Keep trying to get into download mode, might be that you're catching the power button first and powering the phone back on.
Can you get into recovery ? Volume down and power/home button.
You should be able to get to one of them at least

Try this.
Remove and put battery back in, don't power on.
Hold Vol Down + Power + Home Button all at the same time until the warning message comes up then let go of the buttons. Finally press Vol Up only and you'll be in download mode. Connect phone to usb.
Flash this CF Auto root courtesy of Chainfire thru odin. Not sure if CF updated it for 4.4 but one poster said it worked for him on his Tmo.
Optionally flash a custom recovery cause you will have a stock recovery after rooting.

I had the same issue, I did as you said, but now I am stuck at RECOVERY BOOTING... RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING Set Warranty Bit: recovery.
(it never shows the orange pirate rooting guy)
however, against all judgement I tried it with the sm9005 instead of the sm900t file and it passed into the orange pirate root guy, however it gets stuck at the boot logo, do you guys have any Idea what could be wrong?

I've got myself stuck a couple times... both times I booted into download mode and selected reboot phone... it worked both times. As stated in another reply, make sure you pull the battery then replace and make sure you are holding home/vol/power... and make sure you get the home/vol buttons before you press and hold power.

HI there, guys! I just read the whole thread and maybe you can help me also! I'm facing a less critical, but similar problem.
I use Omega ROM (Android 4.3 yet) and just after a reboot my device is stuck at boot animation forever. The only thing I did before rebooting was freeze S Finder using Titanium Backup (after it was enabled again because Samsung updated it a few days ago) and move some apps to SD Card using Clean Master.
The critical part is that I can't enter Recovery Mode to try to solve wiping caches because my Reactivation Lock feature is enabled, so I can't access it.
Is there anything I can do except from flashing stock ROM over Omega itself? I can't lose my files on internal storage. There are pretty important ones! =/

Hi guys i think ive screwed up here massively. I was running stock lollipop on my note 3 and i attempted to gain root using odin and cf auto root hlte hltexx smn9005. After Odin said PASS i unplugged it but i may have done it too soon (not sure). Now when i turn it on it appears to automatically attempt to boot in to recovery over and over. I've removed the battery and tried to boot in to recovery and download holding all the button combinations and it doesn't boot long enough to get into any mode. Any advice to fix or is it completely bricked?

To root you need to flash twrp. Then flash supersu.zip. Don't think cf auto root working with lollipop.
So now try to flash twrp 2.8.5. If your phone boots successfully into twrp, flash supersu2.4.6.zip which your can find it by google.
If your phone still doesn't boot, odin whole firmware.

Did you try pulling the battery? When using Odin the best (safest) way to do it is pull the battery (without the USB cable plugged in ) wait 10 secs or so then put it back in and hold down the DL mode keys. There seems to be a fundamental difference between a hot boot into DL and a physical restart via battery removal.
Happened to me the other day too. Just hold volume down + power + home and THEN plug in the battery. It worked like a charmo for me.
It worked
Wow battery out then insert worked!!! So stoked. You guys are awesome i thought the phone was gone so i went out and got a note 4 on my plan as i was out of contract lol. Oh well all good new phone and i can get the note 3 on ebay. Cheers guys!!!
Hey XDA!
Got my Nexus into some trouble today. I Was running stock rooted 5.0.2, received an OTA update for 5.1. Ran the update and it sent me to my TWRP 3.0 recovery. Restarted the device and found out the update did not work, leaving me at 5.0.2. Ran the update again like a tard, took my to the stock bootloader. TWRP is now no where to be found... In fact there is no recovery to be found. When I select the recovery option in the bootloader it goes to black screen then redirects back to the bootloader. When I select the "start" option, it's reboots the device taking me to the bootloader. I have attempted a hard restart with the power button but the device hangs on the Google logo forever. I have tried to use the Nexus Root Tool but it can't help me since the device won't connect via fastboot, or ADB.
Any help is appreciated.
Hallo,

you mention it wont connect via fastboot but you can still reboot with the pwr + vol- to get menus of some kind.. ? if the screen is backlite even just a blank screen but you can see it light up theres still hope. All i can say is try to reboot the device into fastboot an then try Nexus Root Toolkit an see if you can reset to Factory to restore the stock recovery partition along with reset the OS to which ever you select and start over .. Good Luck Flashing... the only way i can say your SOL is if when you plug it into your PC an it pops up with the error "Device Malfunctioned,....." then you SOL Good Luck Flashing :good:
EDIT: Sorry didnt notice it was resolved in the title..
Hi..
My s6 edge plus model is SM-G928C (Saudi Arabia). I saw the Iraq version of MM and flashed it through Odin. Everything runs fine except the following:
1. Battery draining faster,
2. Whenever I shut down or reboot the phone, it shows "Android is installing, Optimising Apps 2 of 2",
3.USB Debugging is greyed out.
I tried to reflash the firmware but I still get the problem. Hard resetted it 2 times, no luck. My knox counter is still 0x0. What should I do? Can I downgrade to 5.1.1 again? Coz the battery was much better in it than MM.
Yes you can ?
/CK
Yes you can and I'll tell you how.
I also have the 928C from UAE. What you must do is, flash the 5.1.1 stock firmware via odin. Uncheck auto-reboot. If it automatically rebooted, you will get a bootloop again and again. So the phone doesn't automatically leave, uncheck auto-reboot. Then when you're inside Download/Odin mode and you finished flashing original firmware, manually restart the phone yourself into stock recovery and do the full wipe of everything. It will reinstall the firmware from fresh and you won't get bootloop. This is what I did. And it worked. It took me a few hours to figure this out because I kept getting bootloop after flashing when the simple solution was to go into stock recovery and just factory reset all data...Not sure why this works but it does. Good luck
So that means I don't have to mess with the bootloader version or stuff? Cos I really don't know all that stuff. Thanks for the reply.
Did you notice the battery drain in MM? And is that why you went back to 5.1.1? Please help me on this.
I always preferred using TouchWiz. It's not too bad. On mm I didn't have battery drain because I had root and it fixed the deep sleep issue which disallows the phone to power down during screen off. I came back to lollipop because on mm TouchWiz lagged. With lollipop I'm using the arter97 kernel. And it's blazing fast. So I'll have to wait for arter kernel for mm once it's stabled and try that on mm. I never had to mess with a bootloader. I thought I was going to have to after getting boot loop. But the simple fix was to enter recovery right after Odin. And factory reset
Ok. So I flashed the firmware back, but I dont know how to go directly to recovery mode from Download mode. How to do that?
I tried by exiting Download by pressing Volume down and power, and as it rebooted, I quickly help volume up, home and power button. But still it didnt go in recovery mode. Can you please help me how?

The same buttons that you press to enter Odin/Download mode, hold again when you finish flashing. For maybe 10 seconds. AS SOON as the screen turns off, move and hold the buttons for recovery mode. I can't remember which is which, I get the combination for recovery mode and odin confused. Remember. AS SOON as Odin mode exits and screen turns black, release all buttons and then hold the recovery mode buttons until the Galaxy s6 + logo appears, wait a few seconds. Then release and you should be in recovery.

No problem bro. And if you have any issues with deep sleep (Where the phone doesn't shut off CPU cores during screen off) then you can download CPU spy and if Deep Sleep is 0, then you have the deep sleep issue and will cause battery drain. And the phone gets hot in your pocket. IF you have this problem. Then flash Arter97 kernel version 11.0

Just downloaded CPU spy and it shows deep sleep as 2%. Meaning no problem? I mean the phone has just flashed.
Update: Deep sleep has raised to 43% after an hour and a half. That means good?

Remember to hold the same buttons you use to enter download mode, but this time hold it for like 10 seconds to escape. That's what I did.
I got stuck on bootloop too but marshmallow completely messed up my phone:
The 6.0.1 BTU MM update has royally messed up my phone.
It was ok at first but my Google contacts wouldnt sync constantly throughout the day so i cleared the data and it kept going crazy rebooting crashing every 2 mins even not letting me factory reset from recovery it would boot a bit then crash.
I did it OTA then used smart switch desktop to reload the firmare to have a clean install still same problem would freeze and crash after couple mins or secs of use.
Does anyone know what might have happened?
I was up all night tryna fix it resorting to flashing with odin the last lollipop OJ2 that i was using before but it still was crashing and rebooting i tried clearing cache partition and master reset several times while still on marshmallow and also with lolilop it would crash and not even let me factory reset as it would freeze when i try to use volume down key to click yes to clear everything.
It was working fine before on lollipop now even tho i am back on it it isnt the same randomly reboots. When i get to the start up screen aftrr factory reset it crashes halfway through adding my wifi etc unless i do it quickly i try clearing cache partition after flashing lollipop but it gets stuck on bootloop which i cant clear except pressing vol down and power button for 20 secs then it freezes.
I finally i hope have some stability in the firmware but every time i go to android recocrry to clear cache partition it crashes while booting up and restarts again then freezes. What the hell is going on?
I thought clearing cache partition master reset etc should restore it to a clean firmware.
What is causing this crashing? Traces of marshmallow should be cleared once odin flashes over lollipop and also factory reset clear cache partition yet i still have this issue.

I'm assuming since you posted here, it's Verizon? I don't recognized the BRD1 update. S7s from Verizon on currently on BRC3 from April, 2018.
In any case, have you tried rebooting into recovery mode? Also, do you have an SD card installed? If so, power off and remove the SD card and then put the tray back in with just your SIM card and see if that fixes it. If not, try to reboot into recovery mode and try to wipe cache and see if that helps. If that doesn't help, you might have to factory reset from within recovery mode.
To get into recovery mode, do the following:
Switch off your Samsung Galaxy S7 or S7 edge completely.
Boot into Galaxy S7 recovery mode by pressing and holding Volume Up and Home keys.
While pressing these, hold the Power key too.
Release all three buttons when Samsung Galaxy S7 screen flickers and you see the logo.
Once in Recovery mode, you will have to use Volume Up and Down keys for navigation and Power key for confirming an option.

Might be your only option now.
Is your phone:
Rooted
Running a custom ROM
Were you per chance running the unofficial Oreo patch that wasn't for VZW devices (but apparently for ATT if I'm correct)? That could be part of your problem and you might have to ODIN now.
My phone has never been rooted and I have never flashed custom ROMs nor used ODIN to repair my phone, so I can't help you there, but maybe someone else can?
BRD1 appears to be the latest 930U firmware released on 4/25 according to Sammobile.
