Request to the Forum Moderators. - Windows Phone 8 Development and Hacking

Just finished my engg. exam and i'm back as promised you before with my new hack and much more achievements.
So, my wish to the Forum Moderators to Remove this thread as per my request.
I'm doing a very Hard work on my Latest Hack at underground as a lonely.
I'll come back with Full Hacking achievements with the clean concept.
Hope, for your positive response.
and Sorry about editing post without other team member's permission and technical discussion.
Thank You.

This is some ground-breaking stuff.
I'm very interested to see what we are going to get from this.
Doees this mean that lumia phones can be-are interop unlocked?

May be or may not be. I've not research yet on it.
Those methods also work on any OEM Device, not specific for the Lumia.

Well, this is a potentially phenomenal breakthrough... Nice research!
Looks like it requires installing both apps to the SD card, correct? That means you need to have an SD card and WP8.1. That's still a heck of a lot more phones than we could unlock before!
Time to explore this...

Yes, Required SD Card but there no need to Deploy both apps. i mean now apps can be shared globally
We can shared app packages with the NI Images.
Edit:
I'm Also started to do investigation for Non-SD Card devices and i hope i'll get the success. because i'm 2 steps ahead there too (But it is very Hard to achieve, there is no success guarantee)

Could you explain how I would do this using htc rather the a lumia device. I cant seem to figure it out.
Also you mentioned you can write to the registry. If that is true, then you should be able to make your device interop unlocked by setting the max apps to 99999

@snickler
Microsoft didn't developed any patch for SD Card.
I'm on latest build dp 8.10.14192.280 (known as Critical Update).
My another thought is get this method on running WP8.0 GDR3 firmware, having 8.1 developer preview and running WP8.0 App packages. It would be a nice as my prefer.
If you have any problem or confusion, then PM me. I'll be there.

Hmmm.. this doesn't make sense to me why it's not working.

for the ones who have a sammy i drop the xap here , I used sammy diag app for it.

@ceesheim
Yes, now Samsung firmware can be freshly Jailbreak on 8.1

What did you do man
That's great
Wonderful

We are not there jet , but the possibility is right on the corner

@ceesheim
Would you mind creating a Xap for HTC as well. I cant seem to get it to work on htc one m8.

We need a Nokia library that uses RPC or IOCTL to make registry changes, the more arbitrary the better. Something like Samsung's RPCComponent DLL. Working on it...

@starsoccer9: Please install some of your OEM apps to the SD card and extract their contents from Install\ folder, post the contents here as ZIPs? I'll see what I can do.

Unlock Extended ROM

I know, this issue has been already treated in other posts, but up to now, I have not found a solution on how to unlock Extended ROM on the magician. Is that just one of those cases: "it is not possible".
Or did I oversee something somewhere else in the forum ?
Cheers
Hans
it is not locked.
it is just a section of the flash rom.
you can flash it using 'pflashrom' - i did not put a compiled version in itsutils, since i am afraid people will mess up there phones with it. if you are knowlegable enough to compile it, you can probably use it sensible enough not to break your phone.
willem
Since it is ROM (Read Only): does it mean, I can't write anything to it ?
Excuse my dumb questions.
I can see the Extended Rom either directly on the MDAc or thru Activesync with explorer. Thats not the problem.
When I try to copy something, it says that it is write protected.

where can i wind the pflashrom source please?
I looked in wiki and in your site, but cannot find it.

it is pnewbootloader.exe, renamed to 'pflashrom.exe'

Hey Willem,
Okay, i have to compile these textfiles into a program? Using what? I'm a kind of person who doesn't ever do any hacking or programming but i heard a friend of mine say that you can clear the extended rom so you can use the memory as working or storage mem. i would like to... Any tips?
Cheers
Hey itsme,
I have been looking through your code for this and I have a question. I notice you are referencing specific addresses. I have a HP 6515 on its way and working with someone that has one, it seems to recycle alot of the Magician. Can you give me some tips on how to find the specific addresses on this device? Thanks.

A very newb question

Does all these apps requires me to unlock my diamond. I'm not very technical but would like to use some of the apps available here.

you can use them without unlock.. just read developers note carefully before installing them..
most are in .cab format, which means you just copy the .cab file to your Diamond and then run it from the phone.
You dont need the phone to be unlocked, we're not fruity fan boys

[TMOUS][PROJ]TG01 rom for HD2 Port

Well since summer is here, and after trying a lot of custom roms for my hd2, i need some advice on porting the TG01/T01A rom to the HD2.
3 reasons why I want to port the tsunagi rom to the hd2.
1 is because of the Japanese support on the T01A rom, not just so i can view the fonts but also enter hiragana/katakana/kanji.
2. after owning the tg01 (rip tsun-tsun) i miss the toshiba keyboard. it might be possible to extract the stripe interface and the toshiba keyboard and install it no?
3. Plus I have nothing better to do so i figured why not.
I started the actual process today so I haven't gone that far yet. Right now i dumped both the T01A and the TG01 roms (downloaded from Toshiba, dumped with this kitchen) I figured i port the english rom first then after i successfully port it, i'll move on to the japanese rom. So far that's all I got, im gonna start dumping either the 2.10 or the 2.13 HD2 rom from t-mobile sometime today.
So to all the veterans out there, any tips?
so i started working on this today, what i did was dump the tg01 rom then move files from the tsunagi dump to an hd2 kitchen. then i cooked a rom. didnt really think it was gonna work and i was right. i assume its the toshiba setup running at startup causing it to freeze. probably need to disable that application and cook it again. heres a pic for those interested.
like i said any tips would be appreciated.
actually I would love the tg01 interface on my hd2 keep me posted I am very interested in the development of this
are you just cooking the modules in the phone and seeing where it goes or...
are the modules okay for visual kitchen??? I'm curious and have you spoken to one of the mods to see if they can help

well what ive done so far is dump the stock tg01 rom from toshibas site and try to add in toshibas stuff (the keyboard and the menu). thats pretty much as far as i gotten. i believe its all in the oem folder on the toshiba, plus im trying to convert that oem into ext but so far the tools i tried to use isnt working for me. this weekend im gonna look into the problem a little closer since i have the time.

that interface looks really good doesnt it? actually the whole point of this project was so i could use the docomo japanese ime from the toshiba to the hd2, plus i know a bunch of people with hd2's around here, and i wanted mine to "pop". haha
Seems good.
It's better if you can post the dump files if you wish, so that others can look in to it.
yeah ill post the tg01 dump later, i just got home from a bonfire. summers doin good for me so far. haha. hopefully this thing shouldnt be too difficult. btw if u do obtain a tg01/t01a rom dump, the files in question are in the oem folder, they one of the folders start with an S and the second starts with a T. i dont exactly have computer access atm so i cant tell the exact folder name.
edit: so the folders are called tsbapl and sysapl. this is located in the oem folder from the tg01/t01a rom. if we can somehow incorporate that into the hd2, i think that'll be it. i tried a couple oem -> ext converters from the t01a forum but it didnt work, me thinks its cause my computers acting like a monkey and i have to reinstall windows.
Great initiative Caffeine, I too, would love trying out Toshiba's UI on the HD2
i pm'ed Nokser, an active tg01 rom cooker for help. he seems pretty busy but he gave me some info. the toshiba keyboard and the toshiba interface is located in the tsbapl folder from the dump. i went ahead and uploaded the tsbapl folder for those of you who want to take a look out of it. i'll try to get the keyboard working first, then hopefully the stripes interface.
hers the tsbapl dump. http://bit.ly/azhlYP
btw does anyone know how to convert this to a cab? "oem -> cab". the tools i found dont seem to work for me.
I create for you .cab file
Only, you had to test if it works

that sounds fine, thanks for helping me out bro.
I have done some cooking as well, mostly personal but I am willing to help out. Just got back from android land and its been awhile but I will get it together again quickly. Let me know how I can help out man.
well right now what ive been doing is simply adding the folder to the oem folder in the hd2 kitchen im using. that didnt work because as far as i can tell a toshiba specific app runs at startup so if we can somehow disable that app it'll be working.
so i havent really worked on this much (lately since ive been busy) tbh, but anyone have any ideas on what i should do?

If you dont know how to do this with coding and real development please ask a developer to help you, or a moderator to remove this thread due to halted development. Thank you
im not gonna lie the only work ive done to this was take out programs from the extracted oem folder. thats pretty much what im doing, trial and error, i just need to figure out whats running at startup thats causing the phone to freeze up. so far i tried reading the dsm file with an editor but it wont show me what file its making run at startup.
im in the process of building another rom.. hopefully i get it down.

[Q] open and Modify ROM

O.K. i have looked for the answer to this question and the closest i can get is from a post in 2006 using Hypercore. So with that said i am sorry if i am overlooking the the answer somewhere. i love the WhiteStone_WM6.5_D4C2_21905_COM2_PV built by "pdaviet".The problem is that I would like to open this rom and add a couple of thing to it wrap it back up and put it back on my phone. How do i do this. i have been trying to figure this out for 6 hours now and i am about to lose my mind not to mention my eyes. any direction somebody can point me is appreciated.
Try this method, and ignore posts that say you can't dump protected roms. You may need to change settings, depending on the device.

thanks for quick reply i would like to adjust it for hd2.
I got this kitchen customized only for TP2 devices. No time to adjust it for HD2.
BTW Anyway even if you would have such a kitchen for HD2, I don't think it will be any usage for you if you don't know how cooking works...

thanks again i only need this to add few apps in a custom rom.i dont know much about cooking but i am trying to learn with help ofnice people like you.
Just install them by using cab files. Much easier (and safer!).
Recooking roms is not something you are able to learn in a day or two.

i know it is not easy but can you please tell me how can i modify this to extract leo rom.thanks
You're gonna need to modify the ini files in the tools folder. I think you'll need to add the HD2 to the list in htcrt.ini and htcrt_devices.ini, and then get a Leo.htcrtproj file. The easiest thing would be to download a Leo-specific kitchen and get the files (or maybe the settings that you need.). I've never done it before, but it looks pretty easy. Just open the files with notepad, and you'll see what's missing.
thank for reply .i will give it a try,

[CAB] Windows Phone 8 update packages

Hi,
In the attachment you'll find the links to Windows Phone 8 update packages. So far, I haven't done much research on it. I haven't looked into possibilities to flash these packages to Windows Phone 8 devices. For now, the download-links for these packages are only meant for research-purposes.
The GDR2 update for the NOKIA Lumia 920 consists of a total of 498 cab-files. These files are OS update-packages and driver packages from NOKIA and QUALCOMM. There are a lot more cab-files than in the Windows Phone 7 updates and the files are much smaller. The update is probably split up into many small packages for better performance of OTA updates.
Edit:
Added GDR1 updates (captured by AlvinPhilemon)
Added GDR3 updated
Ciao,
Heathcliff74
hmmm.... what to do with it?
I think I can not update my Ascend W1 with that
as it looks to me , they got rid of the supercab's.
but they still use update, remove , canonical
and oem only uses spkg (same as for wp7.*)
mobilecore.updateos.spku_e43e93f600315a484bd7459ea66df61bf396832a.cab
baseos.mainos.halextensions.8960.spkg_2989d52c174d97ff90c2a9c4ffda264a7f18bca1.cab
nokiafirewall.spkr_f8143fae9eeded7f7fc1755978a25bfc78b71157.cab
HeathCliff! YES! It looks like the full crew is assembled now.
I'm going to flash back to the 5951 update, run fiddler on the phone and see if I can spoof the windows updates into applying to my 920 (if that will be possible)
Question, does anyone happen to have the Carrier codes for the carrier in Sweden, Spain, and Australia? Example ATT-US for AT&T and ROG-CA for Rogers. I need the equivalent of those for this fun little test.
Btw, it looks like MS hasn't implemented traditional over-usb method to install cabs. During R&D I believe they apply them directly to file system.

This would be HUGE deal if we could find the cab that enables the FM radio on the 928.....and be able to install it.
It's been proven that the phone supports FM radio but, it appears that Verizon/Nokia did not enable it...

interesting! with this and Fiddler, we should be able to quite easily "trick" the phone in to installing "Missing" updates. I did that on my phone. I was able to install 200 additional "updates" onto my T-Mobile branded HTC 8x. This method should also work to get Wi-Fi calling on the 8x as well as non-t-mobile branded devices. Does anyone know what the name of the cab file is for the movial IMS update??
