Hi everyone, I know there are loads of posts about how to get Windows 8 working inside a virtual pc but I want to know what it the best or recommended virtual pc software to use in Windows 8?
I have quite a few Virtual PC 2007 images that I switch between for different tasks but on windows 8 I cant install virtual pc 2007 or virtual pc v6 (the one that has XP mode)
If I have to then so be it but I really don't want to have to rebuild all my images in a different virtual pc product (VMWare, Virtualbox etc) so my first question is there any way to make good old fashioned virtual pc work in Windows 8? and if this is impossible then what is the best alternative?

So, I own ASUS K52Jc and I installed Windows 8. Everything running good but my camera (Chicony) works upside down and I can't install driver to flip it.
Any ideas if I can flip it? Or if there will be drivers for ASUS K52 line?
same problem fr me with asus k52jc if i install the correct driver the cam can't work on windows 8 apps like skype ... but it work corretly on desktop apps

its hard to use windows 8.1 on a tablet.
can i install Android on my tablet or even better ... dual boot with windows and android possible on this tablet?
it' fantastic. I have yoga 2 10 with android 1050L. It's very speed. but i think the problem is bootloader mods.
I think I would rath:cyclops:er run Android as the primary OS and the run Windows as a VM.

How do you do that ? I need WM for a private app.
Successfully booted Android 4.4 R3 X86 from USB...
Hey all,
I have successfully managed to boot the 4.4 R3 efi img file from Android X86 on my 1051F. It's working pretty well, very smooth, but pretty much none of the hardware works (GPS, WIFI, Bluetooth, rotation, sound, etc).
Anyone have any idea how we could fix that? The process for getting it to boot is actually pretty easy. You download the img file from the android x86 site, use Rufus to create a bootable USB key (being sure to set it to GPT for EFI). You then need to disable secure boot on the tablet (instructions found various places on the net if you don't know how), shutdown the tablet, connect the USB key via OTG cable to the tablet, hold the volume up and power on. You will get into the NOVO menu. Once there, select boot menu and boot from the USB key (if it's not listed you probably didn't create the USB key in GPT, or it was detected when you powered on).
In order for it to boot into Android, you'll need a USB keyboard connected to select the android option. Alternately, you can just modify grub.cfg to set a default option and a timeout (which is what I did).
I'd really love it if anyone can provide some input on how to fix the missing drivers. Since the 1050 tablet is basically the identical hardware, I would think it should be easy to get the drivers over to this image, but I just don't know how.

I know it sounds basic, but have you tried getting the drivers from here: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/products/tablets/yoga-series/yoga-tablet-2-1051
I wanted to do a fresh install of Windows 10 and I got the drivers from this place.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm pretty sure they only provide Windows drivers there. From my experience, Android drivers tend to need to be part of the image you install from, though I'm sure more advanced users could probably add drivers to a live install.
I'll take a look anyway, just to make sure, though.
EDIT: Just checked and, as I thought, only Windows 8 and 10 drivers. Realistically Lenovo don't support running Android on the 1051F, so it's pretty unlikely that they'd ever post drivers like that, unfortunately.

I just bougt a Yoga Tab 3 Pro.
Being a quite expensive and powefull tablet, I want to know if it is possible to install a linux within the resiliation period.
I've rooted it using TWRP, tanks for the awesom work.
2 possibiliies, either run from the bios a live cd or install along side a chrooted linux .
I've tried Linux Deploy, GNURoot and Complete Linux Installer, none of them are working.
Did someone here have done the operation and had some results?

In fact I succeed a few days ago. Chrooting not really difficult.
I succeed to launch a debian with xfce using vnc. Few things does not work perfectly yet (ssh¿? , gnome3 , trying a real xserver, …). I'm still investing.
Meanwhile, I am saving all the results in a script that I will upload here and on the main YT3 thread.
If you do not want to wait for me, just seacrch «android chroot debian» on google. There is some tutorial (whiteboard--too much complex--, android atrix, blulin). None of them is perfect but with some effort it's possible to adapt.

Hi all, I brought a Lenovo ThinkPad tablet about a few years ago. But the device is getting old and it takes half minute or more to open applications such as Chrome Browser and Evernote etc.
I was trying to use multirom to install Linux distros on the device but multirom is not allowed me to install any Linux distros as it says the device is not compatible. So, I tried to upgrade my opeating system and I think Lenovo doesn't provide any upgrade of this device any more.
What you guys think about this? Can I make my tablet faster? Mainly, I would use my tablet to write articles or watch some Youtube videos in my free time. So, I just want to run most of applications or software smoothly without any lagging, that's why I am trying to put a lightweight Linux distros on my tablet. By the way. is it possible for you guys to give me the tutorials as well because it's not quite easy to find a tutorial about this topic. Thanks.
