How to remove the creepy default contact icon? - Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Talkin about this: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sa...-how-remove-samsung-default-contact-icon.html
I'm hoping its a file stored somewhere that I can just overwrite?

You should consider this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.syncme.syncmeapp&hl=en
You can use it to sync contact photos with your FB contacts or LinkedIn contacts.
Once you sync your photos they are synced with your Gmail cloud and will load even if you get a new phone.

How to transfer all contacts to google contacts?

Say we have a large amount of contacts that are saved to the phone. How do we go about making them google contacts after they are already in without having to manually save each number?
just do a google sync; menu>settings>accounts & sync>gmail>contacts sync
I had to use HTC Sync to pull them into Outlook, then export them in from Outlook as a csv. Then, upload the csv to your gmail account. Next, sync your phone to your gmail contacts, and that will pull them down to your phone as Google contacts. Most of them will link to your phone contacts in "People" so they don't appear twice, but some may need to be linked manually.

Contacts do not apear in gmail

Hello,
I understand that Google Sync is supposed to keep my contacts safe so I never loose them.
I initially started of with a nokia 5230, I used Ovi Suite to import all my contacts in Outlook, then I got them to my HTC Hero with HTC Sync. All great.
I also notice I have contacts that where in my gmail account, and I've even linked them with my phone and facebook contacts.
However, if I now login to my Gmail account, I only see the gmail contacts in there, no phone contacts.
I had the same problem. In your 'People' application (Contacts) on the phone, if you hit menu and then export the contacts to your SD card, you can then import them back to your Google contacts area on the phone. This is the only contacts/People area that will synchronise with Google.
After doing that, just go into View under the contacts menu and choose to view only Google contacts. The phone contacts list will still be there just not viewable as you will be loking at Google contacts instead.
I have done this and avoid sync with Outlook as I was getting too many duplicates - all synchronisation now is direct between the phone and Google. I do however use Coogle Calendar Sync between Google and Outlook and it seems to work OK.
Hope this helps.
Thanks, I'll try that.

CM7 RC1- Can I still link my Facebook contacts picture to my contacts

Question as title.
When I was still using Sense, it has this function linking my fb contacts profile pictures to my phone contacts.
I was wondering if this is still doable without sense.
Thanks
1. you must have both yahoo mail and gmail account.
2 login to your yahoomail.
3.go to contact - then choose import email from facebook (it suck all your friend email address into your contact list)
4. export yahoo csv. download/save it.
5.login to your gmail
6. upload the csv file to gmail contact.
there you go.
if don't work read this.

Or use the app SyncmypixsFrom the market.
Any Contact that it doesn't find in your address book but you know is there (such as katy for Catherine etc) you can link manually. Works a charm. and the images are higher res than just from Facebook.

Multiple Contact issue while sycing

Hello,
I'm having duplicate contacts on my phone. Can anyone help?
I'm getting 2 contacts for everything. Looks like the phone is creating multiple contacts, Is it possible to avoid this (rather than stop syncing with fb and gtalk)
thanks
Maybe it's showing your google contacts and your phone contacts, or your phone and sim contacts, have a look in your settings in the contacts screen, and make sure you only have one of the settings ticked.
Also if you are importing to gmail account, you can use gmail to remove duplicate contacts.
It all depends where the contacts come from.
If you go into the gmail web version on a computer and look up the contacts and there are duplicates - then delete the duplicates and sync.
If the duplicate contacts are stored on the SIM - then either delete them or choose the option not to view them.
If the duplicate contacts are stored on the phone (but do not sync with gmail) - I would just delete them (you could always back them up with KIES on the computer).
If the duplicate contacts come from different applications (gmail, facebook, etc) then you just 'link' them. This way gmail will sync only with the gamil contacts and Facebook will only sync with the facebook contacts but most importantly you only see a single contact with all the info from both souces in it.
Related question.
Is there any way to backup and restore linked contacts when you do a full wipe and restore? Titanium Backup doesn't seem to like doing this, and linking them again really annoys me.
Any ideas?
