verizon still missing on google play - Nexus 6 General

im starting to get nervous as verizon is still not listed on google play ordering page... thats extremely scary knowing how verizon works.... yes ive seen the videos where they got some of the demos devices working by inserting a verizon sim card, but that doesnt make me feel any better

It works on Verizon out of the box. It's already been confirmed.

ive talked to a couple different reps on Verizon. made it very clear to them if Verizon decides not to carry this device in stores (subsidized contract) i will not stay with Verizon any longer. i will move to tmobile. they told me they would be getting device and confirmed the nexus 6 will work on Verizon, but no specific dates. IM SO IRRITATED with how companies handle these matters... Google has announced the phone, WHY KEEP SECRETS!?

I think it might be more of a later release than not carry it at all, which still sucks

They are pushing the Droid turbo, I predict a two month delay for Verizon.

Still almost enough reason for me to leave verizon! lol
Two reasons they(verizon) could be delaying Nexus 6
1. Dont wanna hurt sales of droid turbo. (i believe this to be largest reason)
2. They wanna fiddle and add bloatware to the nexus

Agreed, they spent way too much money on those James franco turbo commercials to release 2 top tier phones so close to eachother.

Droid Turbo now, Note 4 Edge on the 14th......we will be lucky to see a VZW N6 announcement in November, more likely just before Xmas
Announcing it now would dilute sales of those other devices. They are a business. The other carriers have one less flagship phone to spread sales across because the Turbo was a VZW exclusive.

Why not buy from Motorola when they release it?

So is anyone on Verizon gonna risk and order it if they get lucky enough to catch it on the play store? My problem is they r keeping Verizon off of the play store for a reason and I can't understand why other then that version isn't gonna work after all. I want to order it but just wondering if anyone else is gonna risk it.

i talked to a verizon rep and asked if they are gonna even be making an announcement of late nov early dec something atleast!? he said as of now no information can be said or none is available, i told him thats fine i guess but i only got 1 month left on my contract and was gonna get phone outright anyway so i would jump from verizon to att if i just get my phone before hand. He said no need for that the phone will be on vzw soon lol .....but no damn date or even month ballpark

Has it been confirmed that Motorola will be selling it? Sure they have the device on their site but that doesn't mean you can buy it from them. They have droid phones listed on their site as well but when you try to buy you're directed to VZW sales page. I hope that when you try to buy from Motorola it doesn't direct you to the Google play store.
I would like to use my moto credit for the N6

I cant find anywhere that they will. I think because the turbo is a Verizon exclusive it takes you there. The rest of the phones that are multi carrier all can be bought on their site

Just got off the phone with Google
Just got off the phone with Google due to my nasty email sent to them. Some rep called me apologize for the crappy pre-order that took place last week blah blah blah... Anyway she stated that they were informed today that Google has received a much larger stock of phones and pre-orders will take place tomorrow and last longer than 5 minutes. She also confirmed that Verizon is supported when purchasing a nexus 6 google play edition.

Only their own moto phones can be purchased from them. X,G & E. Technically the Nexus 6 is Google's phone. Then again HTC sells the N9 on their site. I guess we'll just have to wait and see

I already got lucky and ordered from the play store. I'm not concerned one bit about it working on Verizon. It's been confirmed through Google reps, Verizon reps and those with a test unit. It'll be smooth sailing [emoji5]

I'm probably also going to go the moto credit route. At the bottom of the blog post it says:
"Nexus 6 will be available for pre-order through the Google Play Store in late October starting at $649. There are two colors to choose from - Midnight Blue or Cloud White - and two memory options - 32GB and 64GB. Nexus 6 will also be available on*motorola.com*and through carrier partners starting in November. You’ll hear from our carrier partners soon with additional pricing and availability information. In all, Nexus 6 will come to 28 countries across Europe, Asia-Pacific and North America starting later this year and as we head into Q1."

"Droid X pre-orders Shipping early" ...ummm WHAT?!

According to a handful of websites the Droid X "has been arriving at customer's doorsteps" early
my question is HOW??? There is nowhere to pre-order the Droid X online or on the phone, so how the hell are "customers" receiving them early??
Best Buy you have to physically be in the store to pick up the pre-order as they do not take your address or anything when you pre-order, wtf are they babbling about??

EDIT- Apparently if you had ordered an Incredible and were told it was backlogged and switched to X, then u get urs early
Dude, you can order them from Verizon stores and have them shipped to you. I also think there was a way to pre order online or by phone.
I am with the first dude. I was really under the impression that Verizon did NOT except any pre-orders, just BB. I have read so many articles and have been in the Verizon store many times. The closest Verizon came to taking pre-orders that I know of is making in store appointments for the 15th or allowing people the already order the incredable to switch.
Actually the early Droid X arriving was a mistake on Verizon customer service system part , has nothing to do with the Droid Incredible, they accidentally shipped out 170 units to customer but they couldn't even activate them until a few days ago where Verizon figured out how to early activate these early bird device b4 the July 15th launch date.

Ok sorry, i am still not getting it or making my point. Why did verizon ship out any phones to customers if verizon did not take pre-orders? I can see them maybe shipping some out early to stores in error. Pre-orders still had to take place for Verizon to have the addresses to send these phones in error. And all web info indicates that Verizon did not allow or take pre-orders.

EXACTLY!!
Why are cutomers getting phones when there was no possible way to "pre-order" staright from verizon????
I went into a corporate store and tried to order and they told me to come back the 15th first come first serve!!
For whatever reason, the 170 people who got their phones first were by a rep that somehow got the order in, or by people who had been waiting for incredibles but changed to the droid.
Or they are just trying to build the buzz for the official launch. Be interesting to see if these early releases are spread out across the country and most of them close to major markets.

My thoughts exactly...
Went in today and played with it... must say it feels very good in-hand. Buttons were NOT wonky. Screen was gorgeous, and was very thin and light. Did not feel cheap in any way!!!!!! : )
... so excited for thursday!
man, i also cant wait for tomorrow. I luckaly have the day off but i have my 9mo old son with me so i really cant go too early and stand in line for hours. I am really nervous that people will be "camping out" way early and that i will not get my hands on one. I guess i have to mentally prepare to be dissapointed.
I am also wondering if the hype is blown up and if there will really be lines for hours. I guess time will tell. i hope everyone here that wants one and thats is as excited as i am gets one.
According to this you won't have to worry, plenty of supply

who's going to preorder this? I definitely am (if 32gb is avail), plus the turbo charger, and a hula bumper. finally will be able to replace my Nexus 4 with the Pure Edition and still have stock Android
Verizon slacking again, as usual. As soon as coverage in my area is trumped by a different carrier I'm jumping ship. Even with my unlimited data, it's not enough to keep me. I've never despised a company more.
Think i will preorder the pure. I currently have moto x on verizon but want new x for straighttalk. Verizon is going downhill.
Just wish they kept the 4.7" screen or possibly 5 at most.
I just spoke to them and you will be able to customize an order starting on Tuesday to get the feel of the device, but no orders will ship for 2 weeks.

I was told different I don't think they have a clue whats going on, I just talked to them they didn't even know what time the pre order started and she told me 3 days for assembly and 2 days to ship. My screenshot isn't uploading sorry
As long as they have 32 GB Pure editions, I'm ordering. Will be nice to stop having to check when they go on sale.
So far I think I'm going to buy a 32GB Pure edition...but I'm also really interested in what might come of the next Nexus. It's historically released between now and Halloween, so it won't be more than around a month and change until we know more about it. I think I'll be buying the Moto X anyway, but I just am not looking forward to selling it in 6 weeks for something else lol

This might be why you can’t find a Nexus 6 in the Google Play Store right now

How is it moronic if numbers say most will buy through a carrier. Seems like a simple choice to me.

It could be that there is an official agreement to allow carriers to sell most of the devices. Of course, if that were the case they never should have offered a Play Store pre-sale in the first place.

Its not moronic if that was the condition carriers wanted if they were to carrier the product. I'm pretty sure the men making these decisions know more than the all of us here. Not to mention they have access to numbers and info we don't to make such a decision.

This is one of two things I was worried about if I have to pick it up from T-Mo:
- 1) I just want to make sure the updates come from Google and not the carrier (T-Mo in this case). Especially since I will be paying all upfront for it since I am prepaid and don't want to sign up for a post paid plan. There's no sense in me having to wait for an update if I'm not tied to any sort of plan or carrier.
- 2) I would very much rather purchase directly from the Play Store if only for the GREAT 1-year hassle-free warranty coverage they have. I had to do a warranty exchange a few weeks ago on my N5, and whole procedure was absolutely painless. I had my replacement device in-hand the very next day.
So, as much as I would prefer to buy it from the Play Store, if the speculation that the majority of sales will be taking place through the carriers and the supply on the Play Store will be scarce, I would just want the T-Mo phone to be EXACTLY like the one they sell in the Play Store, with no carrier meddling/bloatware.

Indeed it does say that now. Didn't see that earlier when I checked.
Let's see if they have more than 10 for sale this time around.
Just going to hope I can score one some Wednesday coming up, and hope even more that it will work on Verizon.. Guess all I can do?! Good luck to all of us, we will need it!
Any idea what time it will happen. I'm in the Bahamas and have my friend trying to get it for me but I relay on pushbullet and they are not reliable.
So the no Verizon listing is frightening... does this mean that Verizon might have dropped the phone altogether? Or can we expect another 1 or 2 month (typical Verizon) delay? I was suspecting they might delay it because they are pushing the Turbo hardcore right now and want the Turbo to be the go-to phone during the holidays. Or (I'm hoping this isn't the case), Verizon figures the Moto X and the Droid Turbo will fill the needs of anyone wanting a stock android Motorola phone and don't want to have yet another Motorola phone.

Unless one is stuck with Verizon for coverage reasons, I can't imagine why so many people use them. They're the most expensive carrier, and lead the fight (along with AT&T) to destroy net neutrality. Evil.

Potential great news for Verizon Pixel 2 XL owners regarding bootloader!

So I started seeing a little bit of burn-in on my device over the weekend so on Saturday I decided to call Verizon and take advantage of Google's warranty. Once I told tech support I saw burn-in he immediately confirmed my address and let me know a brand new 2 XL replacement would be there by Tuesday at the latest. (would've been overnight delivery if it weren't Saturday) Well I got my device today and low and behold, THEY SENT ME A STOCK GOOGLE VERSION! Not the Verizon version, so, MY BOOTLOADER IS UNLOCKED!
This is why I'm saying "potential" great news, I cannot guarantee this will be the case for everyone but I'm kinda feeling like since this is a device defect on Google's end Verizon gets their surplus replacements from Google themself, meaning there is a high chance all replacement devices, at least for the time being, will be basically the same unlocked version you buy directly from the Google Store.
Anyone else have a similar experience?
Proof.

Nice, I was super happy when I saw this since I didn't realize Verizon were going to be idiots and lock down the bootloader. I didn't get the original Pixel XL because I only upgrade every two years and every other Nexus device I've owned through Verizon still had an unlock option for the bootloader in the developer options so I assumed this one would be no different.
I just sent mine in for same reason, they tried to send me to Verizon but I wouldn't let them. Phones on it's way to Google, hopefully I get Google version back instead of Verizon one

Why did you send your phone in first? You make them send you a device so you can transfer your data and then send it back. I still have my other XL 2. When I called Verizon I told them I want my new device first and they said that would be fine.

Google required it, Verizon was gonna send one first all u had to do was pay taxes and then get them back when they received phone.
I didn't wanna chance getting a locked bootloader from Verizon, I want a Google one

Dude, there is no payment needed at all to replace your phone through Verizon. I called them, told them I had burn-in, they setup a new phone to be overnight delivered and I got it today. That was it. I don't know who you talked to but there is no taxes required on getting a replacement due to a factory defect.
Yeah I think the guy I talked to was an idiot and didn't know what he was doing. Oh well, I have a note 8 and will have a unlocked bootloader in a week.
I was hoping to follow your path and get lucky, nothi g I can do now it's in the mail

Well if it's coming from Google you have a good chance of getting an unlocked version.
I thought so myself, but after speaking with Google they said they send out Verizon locked phones if I bought from Verizon. Oh well looks like I'm returning when I receive Thurs and ordering one plus 5 t
Verizon told me to call Google so I called about my issues.. The thing that sucks is I gotta send my pixel 2 xl first and once they receive it Google will send me a brand new 1...sucks but I'm gonna do it...just sucks I'll have to use an old Motorola Z Droid Play lol and I'm going to NYC for vacation next week and won't have my pretty Pixel 2 XL once I send it in

Um, no reason you have to send your device in. Whoever you talked to at Verizon is a moron. I called Verizon tech support and he told me there would be a package along with my replacement to send my defective device back in once I received the replacement. That way I am able to transfer my data. I'd suggest calling Verizon back.

Did your phone come from a Verizon store or from Google?

I purchased my device through Verizon, I've specified this multiple times by saying I called Verizon for my replacement.

Wherever Verizon gets their devices from. Like I said, I'm thinking they might be getting their 2 XL's straight from Google because of the issues so that Google is able to oversee damage control. I don't know for sure though. All I know is I purchased my original device through Verizon and talked to a Verizon tech rep to get my replacement. The replacement I received was unlocked.
