I9190XXUBNA1 Upgraded to Kitkat Success - Galaxy S 4 Mini General

hi all,
ive been having fast dormancy issues and i got so annoyed, i decided to take a chance and upgrade to Kitkat.
i have a GT-I9190 S4 Mini, unbranded , supplied by CellC South Africa,
For those with the I9190XXUBNA1 models,
i would like to confirm that the kitkat I9190XXUCNG1 works successfully with no issues on this model.
hope this helps others.
its very laggy for the first 2, 3 minutes. i would suggest you leave the phone for about 10 minutes after the home screen shows up.
i did this with 100% battery life, knox counter has not been tripped btw.
i would like to thank ibtimes.co.uk , i followed the guide from their site.
Im not a reg user on the forum, but i thought i would share this is since ive seen the I9190XXUBNA1 model to have very less info online about them.
How to install I9190XXUCNG1 Android 4.4.2 on Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190

Note: If the Added message does not appear, then try to re-install USB derivers or change the USB port on the computer.
Step-7: In Odin, click the AP button and select the .tar.md5 file which was extracted earlier
Step-8: Enable Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time checkboxes. Ensure that Re-Partition checkbox is not ticked
Step-9: Double check everything then click the Start button in Odin. The installation process should begin now and take about few minutes to complete

Galaxy S3 i9300 Unbrick [restore to stock rom] [noobs][easy]

Hi guys! This is a noob-proof guide on how to flash stock samsung firmware on your i9300. Whether you have bricked it or just want the stock firmware back. Here's how to do it (detailed explaination)
WARNING! : This is only for the GT i9300 (international version) , Check your device before proceeding. Also you might lose all your data. So backup! i am not responsible if you brick your phone(although very unlikely) by not following the guide properly
Also you will lose your custom recovery, Custom ROM and will not longer have root
Ok lets begin!
1. Make sure you have the samsung drivers installed on your pc (http://bit.ly/SDaIIE)
2. Your device should have at least 80% battery left
3. Enable USB Debugging by going to Settings>Developer Options>Tick the Usb debugging tick box!
Files needed :
1. Android 4.1.2 I9300XXEMA1 for Galaxy S3 I9300 - http://bit.ly/10vkxdj
2. Odin 3.07 - http://bit.ly/16aRzF4
Extract The firmware Zip file until you get a file with a .tar extension and some other files. Do not extract furthur
Extract odin zip file till you get Odin3 v3.07.exe
Now here comes the actual flashing part
1. Power off your smartphone. Wait 5-6 seconds for vibration to confirm complete switch off.
2. Now, get into Download Mode by pressing and holding Volume Down, Home and Power button simultaneously until Samsung Galaxy logo appears in phone screen. Wait few seconds and your phone will be in download mode.
3.Open odin as administrator and connect your s3 to your computer with usb cable
4. You will get a message "Added" in the message box in odin and You should also see COM port with a number in Yellow if you successfully added your device.
if you don't get this , try another usb port.. if it still doesn't come , reinstall drivers.
5. Select these files from I9300XXEMA1 folder in Odin at respective buttons:
Click the PDA Button, and select the .tar.md5 file here with *code* appearing in its name
Click the Phone Button, and select file with *modem* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the CSC Button, and select file with *csc* in its name (leave if there is no such file)
Click the PIT Button, and select the .pit file. Use only if you got it while extracting , otherwise ignore it.
6. make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time checkboxes are selected. Also, make sure that Re-Partition checkbox is selected, only if you are using a .pit file
7. Double check everything above and hit start!
8. once flashing is complete the phone will reboot automatically and soon you will see a PASS message with green background in the left-most box at the very top of the Odin. You can then unplug the USB cable to disconnect your device from computer.
congratz , you have just restored your i9300!
If this has helped you make sure to hit the thanks button!
what have you developed?
We already know Odin, and this doesn't UNBRICK anything
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
This is so worthy of development thread. ...:banghead:
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Helpful post to some,,,,,however the unbrick part is misleading as all this does is flash a stock ROM.
Only soft brick... like any other Samsung device.
Reported not development plus we have all this information already posted .
OP is splattering this post all over the forum .

[Q] Help! N910C Kies 3 - Firmware Upgrade Initializing Failed

My phone is a brand new Samsung Galaxy Note 4 N910C purchased and located in Dubai. After purchasing, I updated my phone to Lollipop 5.0.1 using official phone update. But now when I am connecting it to PC via Kies 3, It's getting connected but when I go to firmware upgrade initialization or emergency firmware recovery, the phone is getting disconnected automatically. Please suggest me a perfect solution for this.
Firstly uninstall Kies.
Then download official firmware for your model and region from Sammobile, then extract the .zip file.
Remove your phones battery (make sure the device isn't connect to anything via the Micro USB port) wait for 10 seconds.
Then place the battery back in and hold the volume down, home button and power button at the same time. You should be prompted to press the volume up button to continue.
Once at the 'Downloading' stage connect your phone via USB to your computer.
Run Odin as admin and select the PDA tick box and navigate to the directory where you extracted the firmware.
Then press start, hopefully it should work. Please make sure you uninstall kies and that you are downloading the correct firmware for your region and model!
Samsung USB drivers: http://developer.samsung.com/technical-doc/view.do?v=T000000117
Odin 3.07: http://androidhost.org/wmmOt
These are the steps to help you update to the latest firmware, I didn't quite understand why you were trying to go to 'firmware recovery in Kies'.

Soft Bricked Phone Help!

Hey all, new Android user here. I just rooted my device with no problems, but it dies and I recharge it, but it just goes to the "samsung" screen, and will vibrate 3 times quickly followed by another about 1/2-1 second later, then repeat every ~15-20 seconds. I am able to run it in ODIN (download) mode. I was told I need a new rom/firmware, can someone show me how to do this without ruining my device? I didn't save a backup because I assumed I would have no problems
I have had 0 problems before this, and even after root I didn't experience a problem.
Model: SM_G530T
FYI I am a mac user so have downloads be .dmg's.
Thanks in advance! If you need more info, tell me!
bump
pls help I want my phone back
You'll find your stock firmware on samsung-firmware.org
It'll be tar.md5 format, perfectly normal.
Add it into the AP/PDA in Odin and it'll flash fine.

Plug your phone into the computer. Odin will say "added" in it'd output box.
Press the button PDA or AP (depends on version) then select the firmware you just downloaded (tar or md5).

Not that I'm aware of, but Google is your friend, friend.
Home + Volume Down + Power, that starts your phone in download mode which Odin uses to push software.
Your phone needs to be in download mode to do anything at all with Odin.
Also, why not just spin up a virtual machine and use the windows Odin, Windows is much better for all of this sort of stuff.

How to install S4 Mini firware in to a rooted device!

Hey guys! I don't know if anyone else uses Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini today. But I had to install a firmware in the model GT-I9190! This should have been easy enough, but for me it was a little more complicated. I searched for hours for a good firmware. And finally I found one compatible with my region. (Europe).
If anyone else needs to do this. I will offer here the simplest and easiest way to install firmware in Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini GT-I9190.
Here is what you need to successfully install:
1. Laptop or PC
2. USB cable
3. SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile: developer.samsung.com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows
4. Odin 3.09 or higher - odindownload.com/Samsung-Odin/#.XWLDG3tDP4Z
5. Firmware for your phone: samfrew.com/download/GALAXY__S4__mini__/ie59/SER/I9190XXSCQA2/I9190QERCOD1/ (01.10.2017 multi languages)
samfrew.com/download/Galaxy__S4__Mini__/v050/SER/I9190XXUCOC1/I9190QERCOD1/ (27.03.2015 multi languages)
-First of all you have to download and install SAMSUNG USB Driver for Mobile and Odin on your computer.
-Download the firmware for your phone into a folder and unzip it.
- Open Odin: right click, runs as Administrator.
- Select only two options in Odin: Auto Reboot and F.Reset Time
- Turn OFF the phone and Power On in Download Mode: (Download Mode: Volume Down button + Home Button + Power On Button, at the same time)
- If the phone started with the android logo now, push volume up once to enter download mode
- Now connect the phone to the computer in download mode.
- In the left corner in the text box it must be written: <ID:0/006> Added!!
- Now press the AD button and select the firmware from the folder where it was unzipped.
- If all went well. Then press start button and wait for Odin to do the job. This may take several minutes.
- When everything is ready in the first box on the left side you will need to see PASS
- That's all. Enjoyed your phone

Verizon Note 20 Ultra flash stock firmware..

Het gang, I haven't flashed anything using Odin since my Note 4 days so please be gentle.
I have a Verizon Note 20 Ultra SM-986U. I've had a lot of issues with this device, on my third actually.
What I'd like to do is Odin flash the stock firmware (stock N986USQS2DUJA). I'm currently running same firmware and not rooted.
Can someone please hold my hand and walk me through finding the correct firmware and Odin? I downloaded what I found to be the current version of Odin, but when I try to run it I get a popup window with chinese writing and Odin flashes up and goes away. Thanks for any assistance you can give.
A Samsung Experience center at selected Best Buys can flash it for you if stateside.

What I'd like to do is Odin flash the stock firmware (stock N986USQS2DUJA). I'm currently running same firmware and not rooted.

If you want to flash this yourself it's actually VERY simple. It may take a little bit of work, but I'll get you there.
First thing is delete the version of Odin you downloaded, you can't use it.
Make sure that you have the Samsung drivers installed on your PC (Can you plug the phone into your PC and see it in your Windows Explorer?) This is kind of a must, your phone and PC need to be able to transfer data between each other.
Go HERE and go to Post #2
Download the Odin version and the bottom of that post and the top firmware N986USQS2DUJA. This is the most current VZW firmware. (I'm trying to upload that file right now, if you can't get to it, download the 2nd one down N986USQU2DUJ6)
When they are downloaded I would save them to your desktop and extract them both to their own folders
Get your USB Cable plugged into your PC (NOT a Mac). I typically never use a USB hub, I'd recommend going right to the PC
Open Odin
Do not make any modifications to the default settings in Odin
Click the "BL" button and navigate to the firmware folder and select the item that begins with "BL"
Then do that for the other 3 items (AP, CP and CSC)
The AP will take a long time to populate in Odin, so be patient
Use the CSC, don't use the HOME_CSC
Disregard the USERDATA field in Odin
Put the Phone in Download mode (With the phone powered off, hold the volume up and down buttons at the same time and plug in the USB cable) When the blue screen shows up, hit the Volume Up
You'll see in Odin that the device has been added
Hit "Start"
Leave the PC and Phone alone, I typically don't touch the PC and let Odin run it's course. It's really important that you don't interrupt this flash process in any way.
After it finishes you should see that it completed, when it does, unplug the USB and close Odin.
The phone will boot up and should take a bit of time, so it'll say "Samsung" for a few min while it sets things up, then it'll prompt you to set up the device as if it came new from the store
Also, If you have more questions, go back to the thread that the links are in and the community can help you more if you need it
