StumpRoot works on the GPad V500 - G Pad 8.3 General

I just thought I'd let everyone know that stumproot does work with the GPad V500. The thread for it on XDA is here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/root-stump-root-lg-g3-sprint-verizon-t2850906
I reset to factory 4.4.2 last week and finally decided to root it and decided to try a method that worked on my phone...

works great for me.

This should be stickied. Works like a charm. I used brute-force and let it spin to 1000, then reboot and installed SuperSU.
Thanks @muiriddin.

Sprint G2 Root

I was wondering if anyone has found a method to root the sprint version of the g2.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
I used Kingo and it worked like a charm. Here is the link to download it http://goo.gl/xV8iA5.

Use this recognized method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448887
Doesn't show SPR version but if you follow the instructions it will work.

sorry, misunderstood. I actually haven't flashed one.
I am waiting until one has been tested for the SPR version. I know that some of the models are very similar but I don't want to take a chance.
If you get one working let me know.

[FIX] Trouble Putting In Download Mode After D80120G OTA With Broken Root

I recently accepted the D80120G OTA form T Mobile while rooted on stock recovery and naturally root broke. I couldn't reroot with stump root because the root script was still on the phone. Stump root said device was already rooted. I tried to install KDZ file to "unroot", but could not get phone to boot into download mode.
The following is a fix for rerooting your phone with stump root if it says your device is already rooted even though your root is broken.
1) Launch LG Mobile support tool
2) With phone on, plug in USB
3) Select PC Software from phone USB settings
4) Wait for LG support tool to recognize phone
5) Select "Upgrade Recovery" from options in LG support tool
6) Wait for LG Support tool to complete recovery
You shouldn't need to back up anything as it will not wipe your phone. However, better safe than sorry.
Now stump root should work with brute force method!
This worked for me! Thanks so much for the post!

Btw my phone was rooted before 20g and just wanted to ask if i dont wanna factory reset my phone b4 this method..
This method did not reset my phone. However; backing up is still good practice before doing anything. Best of luck to you.

Hey. I really love you for this. It worked like a charm. How you figured it out bro? The process of recovery upgrade seems to manipulate system files which enabled the rooting process to succeed.
Anyways thanks again.

Brilliant!
Many thanks for posting this...worked perfectly!
FWIW, my phone was NOT recognized after installing the G2 drivers from the LG download page. I had to install the entire LG PC Suite. No idea why this worked out over against simply installing the drivers, but I thought I'd add the tidbit here in case anyone else has the same issue.
Thanks again!
Mine says no problem to fix

I faced this issue some time ago but my phone wasn't rooted. I did a CSE flash to JB and took OTA until my phone was up-to-date and when i reached the last update I couldn't boot into download mode.

Worked like charm for my T-mo G2 D801 20G with lost root access after taking OTA (4.4.2.) Had to do it twice (crashed during install at 80%) and it does involve the 1.6GB download of the firmware (for those who are wandering)... Thanks for this.
I have the same problem, but after i click upgrade recovery a popup windows say " no upgrade items to fix"
who should i do now

Without experiencing this issue myself, I would suggest checking each step for completion. Aside from that I cant offer any alternative fixes. Hopefuly someone else on this board can discover a work around from their experience.
Good luck!
WTF!!!
I followed these instructions exactly. My t-mobile phone rebooted and now it has Lollipop. I'm pretty sure they haven't released it officially...

Stuck on TWRP after factory reset. Pls help

Hello my fellow v20 users. I'm in dire need of you wisdom and guidance. Today I was getting ready to hand my phone to my brother so I did a factory reset. My phone is a Sprint V20 rooted and bootloader unlocked with the dirty Santa method and I had installed the us996 deoxed ROM on it.
Everything was working perfectly and I enjoyed the phone very much. However after I did the factory reset in TWRP (I did the plain swipe to clear reset) the phone just rebooted into TWRP again and again and no matter what I do. I already have tried reinstalling the same us996 deoxed ROM I was using to no avail, I have tried another ROM and the same result.
I tried following some advice which I found on the forum that said to wipe the phone in a certain order and then install the ROM and then pull the battery and the same result it boots into TWRP. At one point I even tried flashing a different TWRP and I lost the ability to boot into recovery wahtsoever! However flashing the TWRP I was using before that granted the ability to get back into the recovery but now I'm back at square one. No matter what I do the phone always boots into TWRP. I really am at a loss here and don't know what else to try or do. If someone could please help me I would really appreciate it. I can also let someone remote connections to my PC if that would help. Any help would be really appreciated.
Edit (SOLVED!) Many many thanks to user Jinkerz9430 for all his help and the solution to my problem. He will post the solution for other people to use.

But there are several threads that have been created for the exact same situation. And some of them have the answer you are looking for. One of them is the method i have used every time to get out of the loop (which rarely happens to me). Have you looked inside those threads? They are inside the Q&A section or the discussion section.

Try to install lineageos or resurrection remix or aokp. And see if it runs. Then if it runs, wipe everything and go back to stock.

Need help rooting an LG V20 h91810s?

So I am interested in rooting my LG V20 h91810s. From what I gather I have to roll it back to 10j or i. I have the bootloader unlocked already. But I'm not sure about the rollback. Will a factory reset take it back to 10j or 10i? If not, I haven't been able to find step by step instructions on doing this. I think once I can get it rolled back I should be able to follow https://forum.xda-developers.com/v20/how-to/instruction-to-root-h918-10i-t3536472 in order to root it. Any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much.
No can do..... You will make your phone into a paper weight.
So there is no way to root it? I need to root it in order to recover some very important texts. If it can't be rooted does anyone know how I could recover a deleted sms thread?
Thread title changed on OP's request
Thank you very much.
As of right now anything 10p or higher is ARB01. Which means you can't roll back to root. Trying will create a brick. There are people working hard to make it happen but until then it's a waiting game. As for the recovery of SMS hopefully someone can help you. Chances are if you've searched and searched for an answer with no luck, it'll be hard to get that answer here. But you never know. Good luck.
Ah, that sucks. Well tyvm anyway.
We are both on the same boat unfortunately, we'll have to wait patiently.....
Me too waiting to root my h91810s.... hopefully someone will find a method soon.....
Sucks! But I like this phone. It'll be a shame to switch. ?

Care to interpret what exactly they did to root? Where to get files and how to? Maybe this can be changed to English format.....
Just wondering if there's a progress thread for the h91810s exploit. I just received mine and it's on the same firmware.
