Well, Samsung had been updated 3.10 kernel for Galaxy S5 Broadband LTE-A (SM-G906) which is Snapdragon 805.
Now, do you think Samsung will upstream the kernel version from 3.4 to 3.10 on Lollipop 5.0?
I know that OpenGL ES 3.1 doesn't support until Snapdragon 801. But, I didn't hear that 3.10 won't support Snapdragon 801..
Let me hear your opinions..

Hello everyone.
I see a lot of people complaining that the Froyo releases of the Galaxy 3 do not have Flash 10.1. I opened this topic to inform everyone who doesn't know that Flash is currently only supported on ARMv7 processors, namely the ARM Cortex A8 processors.
The Galaxy 3 has an ARMv6 processor, which is not currently supported by Flash. Adobe has mentioned that Flash might be supported on lower end processors in the near future, but right now it can only run on phones having an ARM Cortex A8 processor.
So right now, Flash is a no-go on our phone, even when the final Froyo update is released.
Need a Custom Kernel to overclock snapdragon 615 ! (Galaxy A700FD)
There is a root for the lollipop version which I had, but now that there is a Marshmallow version, no root is available.
Phone Specs:
OS - Android OS, v5.1.1 (Lollipop), upgradable to v6.0 (Marshmallow)
Chipset - Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615
CPU -- Octa-core (4x1.8 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4x1.3 GHz Cortex-A53)
GPU -- Adreno 405

The root should still work on lollipop and marshmallow. Just in case backup your stuff

Hello,
As I know Qualcomm has not made corresponding graphics drivers for the new Vulkan API for Snapdragon 800 and 801. So S5 can't have Android 7.x Nougat. If it is true how it is possible that we have CM/Lineageos 14.x for S5? Did developers write their own graphics drivers? What about performance comparing to official 6.0.1 Marshmallow?
best regards,

We don't need to use the Vulkan API to run CM14.X/LineageOS, therefore there is no need to write new drivers Vulkan is only required when a manufacturer wants to ship android nougat to their device officially. Performance wise, official 6.0.1 marshmallow will always be the best when compared to AOSP because Samsung has some closed-source drivers that can only be used on official stock ROM.
