Can someone recommend me a good custom kernel to use with ParanoidAndroid ROM 4,6 (android 4.4.4)... On previous ROM I used hellscore kernel and I was very satisfied... But its not available for PA rom...
Thank you!!!
Don't use pa but don't understand why you cannot use the latest version b63 (not the l version) with pa ? Hells kernel works with all 4.4.4 ROMs,so what's the problem?
Tapatyping from my Nexus 4
Hellscore has 2 or 3 different versions, depending on the revision. CM/CAF, AOSP, and in newer revisions one for the L developer preview. Make sure you're flashing the correct one.
Other than Hellscore, there are several other kernels to try. "Best" is a matter of opinion and personal use. Try them all and find out which one works best for you. Just do a back-up first.

hi guys. i search for custom rom for N4 with 4.3 base rom but i confused. plz guide too choose best custom rom.tnx
MY Bild NUMBER is JWR66Y
Really depends on what your looking for. I use PAC because I like all the customization. Most of the ROMs on the development page have been updated to 4.3, check a few out and see what you like the best. Remember to make a nandroid just in case.

There is no best custom rom. It depends on your needs. I am on Paranoid Android 3.99 build JWR66Y because of its stability. I don't like to others because of its known bugs like those who are in JSS build plague of random deadlocks. Just a suggestion, if you want stability try to avoid JSS based ROMs. No offense for JSS ROMs users. You may also try Paranoid Android 3.99 or Cataclysm ROM which is based on JWR build.
Hi!! this is a difficult answer but i can reply you!
in 4.2.2 for me was rasbeanjelly
but in 4.3 at the moment is being PSX v5 really fast and really slim, is a rom with just 109 mb!! without gapps of course.
Cyanogenmod right now is building builds with 201 mb of size!!!
for me the roms with a tiny size works better !
if i were you i would choose PSX with matrix kernel 11 without gpu overclock!

Wayne Tech Nexus
Hi,
I'm deciding what to buy , LG G2 32 GB or Nexus 5 16 GB.
Nexus is more expensive, but it has very stable Custom ROMS, and many kernels for STOCK or CAF ROMs.
My question are:
- Is CM stable and bugfree on G2 ? Does it have the same battery life as stock ? First thing I would do would be flashing any AOSP based ROM, can't stand LG bull**** ( happy optimus 4x HD user )
-What kernels are compatible with CM, is there division between stock and CM kernels ?
-Is Dorimanx kernel CM compatible ( it seems like the best kernel here ) ?
-Does the permament screen damage still happens ? ?
thanks a lot !
- Is CM stable and bugfree on G2 ?
Somewhat. A few random reboots here and there is to be expected.
Does it have the same battery life as stock ?
No. It's worse.

Stock based roms are much better than AOSP.

AOSP kernels for AOSP ROMS and Stock based kernels for stock based ROMS. Render kernel is compatible, have a look around in the original android development section.
-Is Dorimanx kernel CM compatible ( it seems like the best kernel here ) ?
Dorimanx kernel is only for stock roms, although there has been somebody who has made it work with AOSP. It's pretty outdated now, I think.
In short, stick with a Nexus 5 if you want AOSP. And horrible battery life.
AOSP is a must for me... This LG stuff is so ugly... I would not be able to use this phone with stock ROM. Anyone here can say something about running AOSP ROMs ? How is your experience ?
So is there any rom (I think stock based would be my best bet) that has no important bugs? Or should I just flash a custom kernel on a stock firmware?
No there is no such perfect custom rom due to some technical limitations.
Try stable ROMS, there is more probability you find everything working there. I suggest you Resurrection Remix for personalization and CM 12.1 for stability. Btw is your choice, choose the one suits you best.

as you said the stock based is your best bet but for me i use s5 mini rom it has everything working exept NFC because s5 mini does not have that feature
This rom has probably less bugs than the rest http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s3-neo/development/rom-galaxy-s3-neo-stock-firmware-t2975102
Best is cm11 with sev3n kernel. 6h of screen good camera(cm12 is a joke), radio and everything. No bugs no lags and finally a decent phone. If you want lollipop flavour install cm11 ideal theme from store. It looks the same. After trying almost everything it,s my choice.

Offline chaning work? Battery idle 7 day work? Thank you.
(SORRY BAD MY ENGLISH 50%)
Yes offline charging works and in cm12 also works. Only cm12.1 has that bug. Try kang cm 12.1 after flashing perharps 10 roms is now my favourite . Well i miss cm11 Camera but you can't have everything, i'm a little tired of KitKat and since yesterday we hace a good lollipop ROM with a good tweaked kernel and almost free of bugs.
I am using stock firmware 4.4.2 with xposed and some modifications. It is good and now i am going to try any custom kernel. For me, custom roms are useless especially those CM based.
It seems Chroma is no longer developed and the kernel is getting old without security updates. How do I know what actively developed kernel is compatible with that ROM? Thanks for any feedback.
Since Chroma rom is a AOSP based rom, you can use whatever AOSP kernel you like. You can try Quanta kernel (v20). I'm using it on Dirty Unicorn rom since 2 months
Thank you very much. So the first is to find the base ROM, AOSP for Chroma. Also, is it correct to assume I have to pick an AOSP kernel for marshmallow (if they have for all of the Android variants)?
Nevermind: It is in Quanta's page for kernel v20:
"This kernel is made for Android 5.1 (Lollipop) up to Android 6.0. (Marshmallow)"
Thanks again.
Thinking about switching from cloudy 3.3 to a custom rom.
Is the cm13 the best now or is there something similar or better?
Also, what kernel should i be using if i decide to switch?
You can try CM13 based Roms as well.
I'm on MIUI8 Rom right now which looks really nice! And it has some useful tools you can only find on MIUI Roms. But...it has got a few bugs which developer is always trying to fix them but well...they might be annoying for some people!
You can also try some CM13 builds which are bug-free and smoother but...it's pure Android so no special tool. It's up to you
But I'm pretty sure that Lambda kernel is the best kernel to use on CM/AOSP based Roms. You may want to give it a try.
