And when is that coming out? Do you know for sure that there will even be a 2015 edition? If you are interested in not staying in a perpetual hold pattern waiting for the next tablet, you can look into this: http://www.androidpolice.com/2014/1...-through-ebay-daily-deals-for-389-99-260-off/

I just bought mine from that deal. 390 for the Note pro is a great price. This will hold me over for a while. If I want the next new Pro tablet, I will just wait for another good refurb deal again

Value is a subjective thing so only you can decide whether the wait is worth it. Given no details on release dates or specs, it's anyone's guess what is coming when.
Root of your question is whether or not the Note line of tablets follows an annual refresh cycle. For that one has to look at the history of the Note 10.1 line (for which I am unfamiliar).

Honestly I dont know but we all know that every year Samsung is realeasing a new product. But i get what yall saying thanks a lot

The NotePro isn't exactly a line-up as much as the Note or S line-up is. At least not yet. There's no way to know if there will be a next one. (If they do make one, I hope it's with sAMOLED...)
This one was announced in January. If we haven't heard anything by February, it's probably not going to happen.
But truthfully, other than the sAMOLED screen, a new version will have very little to add in terms of hardware. The S805 isn't such a great improvement over the S800, and since the Note 4 didn't come with 4GB the NotePro isn't going to get it either.

Depends how urgent you want one and which screen size you prefer and if you need the spen or not
I really hope they continue making 12inch. I rwally love this size but it doesnt seem to be popular

I bet it will be super popular when MS finally gets around to releasing a Android version of their Office products. That way the college kids will use it. (and I would sure use it for that too)

I'm wondering that comments always targeting the pro screen which I consider it as an strength not a weakness factor to this device.... By all means it's a great machine with a huge display and a lot of money to buy... Let I think it can fulfill my demands for at least one year more

Go with 10.1 tab or Asus prime?

Really like Samsung.. Have the Galaxy s2 skyrocket.. love it. and was thinking of getting the 10.1 tab , but heard the Asus prime is "the tab"..
Have heard issues with qc with asus and with the quad core being the first just alittle skiddish about it..
Im sure Best Buy will put the Galaxy stuff on sale soon..
I have heard great things of the Galaxy tabs..
What do you want? If you really want a quad-core, wait for new tablets first. If you don't need/want quad-core, get the GTab.
Just get the prime, seriously.
Here's what I would do:
1) post questions in the Q+A forum
2) read the forum and find the other thread ON THE SAME PAGE that asked the EXACT SAME QUESTION: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1383993
3) make up my own damn mind.
There are like three other threads discussing this same question.
If you have to have a tablet now, then yes, the Prime is the one to buy (assuming you want Wi-Fi only). But, like you said, Asus is a low to mid-level manufacturer and they had problems with the first Transformer and that was a much less complex device. If you read what's going on over at the Prime forum there's potential issues with Wi-Fi strength/range and some question as to just how many units will actually be made available this year. A ton of pre-orders were canceled and Amazon no longer has it listed for sale.
CES is January 11. There have been leaks about both Acer and Lenovo quad-core tablets. Both are supposed to have more RAM (2GB) and higher res displays (1900x1200) then the Prime. I wouldn't be surprised to see them announced in almost production-ready form at CES. Other than being the first Teg3 and having a dock, there's really nothing remarkable about the Prime. It's larger than the G-Tab, iPad2, and new Toshiba Excite. It has the same 1280x800 screen resolution and 1GB of RAM as all the first gen tablets. It also has mono-speakers (they're on one side) and only supports the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band. I think all the people racing to buy a Prime that already have an existing tablet are going to be disappointed when better featured next-gen tablets start to be released.
If you can wait until February-ish I think either the Lenovo or Acer are probably going to be better choices if for no other reason than having higher-res displays. They'll also ship with ICS pre-installed. But for now, solely because of the Teg3 processor (and keyboard dock if you care), the Prime's the best available choice. You're other choice could be to watch for refurb deals on the G-Tab. They've been as low as $329 shipped for the holidays. You could use it for a few months to see what your options are and then sell it on eBay/CL for close to what you paid for it.
Get the gtab. There is nothing revolutionary about the prime. If you got a little patience, you'll wait two three months and get some of the real next generation tablets.
The galaxy tablet handles everything except 1080p, if you do have a huge collection of that, get something else.
You get one awesome screen, very nice stereo speakers and solid build quality.

If you're still in the remorse period for your Skyrocket you have another option. AT&T's got a deal going where you buy a G-Tab 8.9 and get a Skyrocket free. So if you paid either $149 or $249 for the Skyrocket you'd end up spending either $330 or $230 for the Tab. It's also got a Qualcomm chip which is faster/better then the Teg2 in the Wi-Fi version. You don't have to keep the data plan on the Tab either. If you want to sell it down the road it should also hold its value better than a Wi-Fi Tab.
I would say Asus based on the specs but based on their past history I'd avoid them and go with the Samsung Tab....

I would avoid Asus too who needs updates, micro sd slot, hdmi port etc,etc,........ Look at Samsung they never roll out updates....They barely got 3.2 and 4.0 is just around the corner.
I cant tell if you guys are being sarcastic, but serious advice, i got my tab about 6 weeks ago and Im having tablet envy because the prime has more storage for the same money and its faster. I've had to do a lot of customization to mine for it to feel fast.
And if you plan on listening to music or watch any kind of movies on your tab then you will want to have 32gb minimum with MORE storage if you like to watch in 720p.
Having a usb flash sticking out the bottom of my tab doesnt feel right and im always paranoid im going to snap it

They aren't the only one that has tablets with ports. The quality of the TF1 was questionable and the Prime either has or had Wi-Fi issues and it's not even released yet.

I have a SGS2 and it's been updated like a dozen times. I don't know why they're so slow with tablets. They regionalize their products and offer 3G versions which Asus doesn't so that could explain some of the delay. As Google's platform partner for ICS, the Tab should get ICS faster and better then other brands. Samsung UK announced the SGS2 will get ICS next month. Let's hope the Tab's right behind it. It makes sense for Samsung to get ICS on the Tab quickly to extend its selling life in the face of competition that's supposed to be announced next month at ICS. The Toshiba Excite, a direct competitor to the G-Tab, will ship with ICS when it launches in February so hopefully Samsung will respond before then.

And not even agree internally on whether or not the problem exists. Asus Canada notified resellers that shipments were delayed indefinitely while a fix for poor Wi-Fi range was implemented. Asus U.S. said the launch is occuring as announced on 12/19. The Prime forum should be entertaining once people have them in their hands.
You can't accuse Asus of a delay when, in fact, they are expected to meet their US ship dates (and we'll find out in two days, won't we?). Out of *all* of the reviewers and websites who reviewed pre-pro and production models of the Transformer Prime, precisely ONE reported any sort of Wi-fi issue at all (anandtech). Hard to believe that, if there was a widespread issue, only one reviewer ever encountered it.

Then you should run out and be one of the first to get one. Asus had a poor track record for h/w on the TF1 and the Prime's a more complicated device. It may be the second coming of Christ but like many here I'll wait to see what Acer, Lenovo, and Samsung announce at CES on January 11. The Prime's the first quad-core, it won't be the only quad-core and with a G-Tab I love I'm in no rush and don't feel like being part of Asus' QC process.
Actually, yes, I ordered one weeks ago from Best Buy, so hopefully I will be the first one to get one. Having played with a Samsung, I'm certainly not interested in anything they'll be crowing about in January.

I know I should not feed a troll.... BUT....

Galaxy Tab 2????

REALLY??!!! SERIOUSLY????!!! How many tablets does Sammy think they need to through out at the public to get that they aren't going to sell until they lower prices, not specs! End rant.
Lower prices? The 10.1 is $50 cheaper than the iPad and the 8.9 is $100 cheaper...
I think they are currently priced just about right...
Wish they lowered the prices on the older tabs significantly.
Means we can root em and flash our own builds for a reasonable price
they are just making fools of the peoples who took tabs recently ....i got my first tab SGT p1000 first then few months later this 10.1 came up i took that traded for my p1000 now this 7.7 got infrared and can do calls too..god they gonna make me trade my 10.1 too
i agree, i think this is the only problem with android, we are being flooded with devices at them moment, hopefully it will slow down and we can see some more quality devices come out... pricing for samsungs tabs though are great i think, leave the lower market to other companies, I want a powerful device in my hands.

This is exactly what I mean! Sammy has now released like 5 new tablets with same basic hardware of their old tablets.. Tegra 3 is ready and being used by Asus already! I like Samsung's hardware the best, but I'm just sick of seeing *New tablets with underwhelming, old hardware in them.. I know that price is def a factor, but manufacturing 20 different tablets is expensive.. if they had 3 form factors/models it would save money for them, and then us!

Nvidia's on record saying they've lost Samsung as a customer and now consider them a competitor. So, don't hold your breath for Teg3. Teg3 is actually two old-gen A9 chips glommed together. Samsung's Exynos 5250 is in sampling making it the first A15 chip on the market when it’s supposed to release in Q2. Raw HP isn't the real issue with mobile devices. It's GPU bandwidth. A15 chips will be more powerful than Teg3 and have 5x the graphics b/w. I think a lot of manufacturers are intentionally skipping Teg3 and moving directly to A15 chips (from Samsung, TI, and Qualcomm) which are easier to fabricate and potentially less expensive. The Prime’s having a ton of issues where different devices behave differently when updates are rolled out. It’s too early to say its Teg3 but it’s a potential candidate for the problems.
Meh, I like choice. I don't see the point of complaining about it; unless you're an early adopter, you'll always be a step behind. Here' my suggestion for you: stop worrying about having the newest snazziest gear and enjoy what you do have. It's not a race.

"Unfair" would suggest they owe you some duty of not producing new models. Have you really thought this through? "We buy a thing today, and tomorrow they come up with the improv[ed] one." If this is unfair, how long do they have to wait? Do you realize that they released this tablet in May of 2011, 9 months ago, right? You also realize that the successor does not yet exist, right? This is the same complaint I've heard about technology for the last 20 years. I still don't get it.

BUT there is ALWAYS something better around the corner. A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. Nuff said. I agree Samsungs SOC will be better, but will it be too late? Look at Windows Phone 7, its great, but 3-4 years too late..
My main point..
Is Samsung going to seriously produce 20 different models of tablets? I understand it being nice to have 'choices', but Samsung has enough work keeping past models firmware relevant, let alone producing 20 new version/sizes every few months, there is no way they can properly support that many.. I wouldn't think twice is they made actually changes to new models like vastly improved batteries, or more memory etc.
I've been saying for many years that if you buy an electronic device, it will be obsolete BEFORE you make it out of the front door of the store. You might make it back home if you buy the most expensive model of whatever. It's just the way of high tech devices these days. We consumers have only helped them by replacing perfectly functional devices just for the lasted and greatest one. Even if the new one has twice the speed or memory, do you need it?
Probably not. Yet we continue to demand, and purchase, which is just encouragement for them to continue. I honestly think its only gonna get worse. It's really our fault as consumers always wanting more and better; NOW.
When I was growing up electronics were durable goods. You bought a TV and you kept it until it quit working. Now we buy a new one because of widget xyz is better on the new model. I'm guilty of this myself also, just not as much as I used to be. Even though I have more money to spend these days.

That's ridiculous. If you knew me you'd know what a silly thing to say that is. But beyond that, my statement is exactly the opposite: I'm saying "be happy with what you have, not unhappy about what you don't have." See if you can figure out the difference between gadget lust and gadget envy.

OP puts Galaxy Tab 2 in the title, then complains about how many tablets are coming out from Samsung? I mean, if you put Galaxy Note 10.1 in the title, that would make some sense, but the Galaxy Tab 2 is apparently the direct successor of the original Galaxy Tab that came out in 2010 and it's not even out yet. Who knows when it comes out.

Samsung Unpacked 2012

Can't say for sure where to post this, but in case anyones forgotten, Samsung Unpacked 2012 is later today. We know that they are likely to announce the SGS2 successor and perhaps another mystery phone. Fingers crossed for ICS on the Note?

A comparison between the S2, the SGnex and the S3 : http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/03/galaxy-s-iii-whats-changed/
Quite happy I've didn't wait for it and took the Note instead, don't really care about quad-core, as it seems (almost) the only benefit of the S3.
I'm really underwhelmed and disappointed by the SGS3 announcement as this is our first glimpse of what may power the Note successor.
I'm not so much disappointed with the chipset as I am with the pentile screen - I guess the rumors of upgrading to a screen in between pentile and traditional RGB subpixel arrangement were nothing but fluff.
I really am starting to think that I will just skip the Note2 and head straight for the Note3.
Ha, Ha. Samsung is done. A 4.8inch? Two large for a phone. I believe 4" to 4.5" is the best. If you want a phone and tablet, go to note. iPhone 5 will be a winner.
YES! Looks like i'm keeping my baby! I can finally stress down and wait till september/october for the Note 2 aka The Best One.

like the other guy said in the sgs3 forum we just got 'Iphone 4S'd by Samsung. how could they say inspired by nature? the phone looks plasticky and Tw launcher is simply FUGLY, If they do the same to the note 2.

As they currently sell the most smartphones in the world, I think the threat is already there. The SIII isn't going to dent those sales anytime soon. I think it looks smart, especially the blue version.
Have to agree with a number of comments. My Note will definitely not be going anywhere. I got my hopes up near the end when they said 'one more surprise' but alas...
I was surprised to see the hardware buttons in place. I thought ICS and the GNex would have pushed Samsung away from it. Hardware and software seem fine, but barring the social stuff (which I'm personally not really interested in) the camera and some of the awareness functions like staying awake and smart notifications seem interesting and I don't think there is a good reason those functions shouldn't be on the Note.
Just remembered one more cool thing they need to port to the Note, the scrolling toggles in the drop down notifications. And quite a funny voice 'test' from Android Central below.

Samsung will saturate the market with sgs3, they will sell a large quantity(expect cheap sgs3 within 3 months of release) but they will loose the brand value, similar to how htc host its foot on android(remember they were the largest manufacturer of android). the only thing they have going for them is their exclusive access to superamoled, but i think with rendering issues in samoled (needless to say plasticky body) my next device is unlikely to be a Samsung.
I think the camera app functionalities sound great and all the S voice thing too even if it's a "Samsung's Siri"
What's the chance that the Galaxy Note ICS official update will include these features?
If not, what's the chance of port?

Buy a Galaxy Note now or wait.....and dispair

Well I have been reading about people asking the same questions for a while but my situation is a bit different.
My current device is a HD2 EU and my only 2 smartphones have been this one and the Xperia X1.
Both of them very good and I can't complaint about anything as they have served me well, well beyond what the manufacturers would like them to. This of course was only possible due to the tired-less work of all the developers here on XDA.
Well but now I have decided to sell my HD2 and I need a substitute. In 10 min the auction will end and by tomorrow I will not have a smartphone
As soon as the reviews of the Note started to show up I thought to myself that this one would be a device for me. I remember people saying that the HD2 was huge back in 2009 and today it is considered a normal sized device.
The question that concerns me is that I have am about to spend a lot of money on the Galaxy Note, right now that the Quad-Cores are coming out.
I normally buy my phones of eBay, but the price of it new with a 2 year warranty is almost the same (maybe 30 euros more expensive) than used in a very good condition.
Should I get something much worst like a the original Galaxy S of eBay and wait for the Note 2 to arrive. Or should I buy a new Note from Germany for 430 Euros?
Thank you all for your help.
I wouldn't wait for the Galaxy Note 2 because there's absolutely no rumor about it yet, so it might not get released very soon. And I would definitely not get a Galaxy S right now, because it's really outdated. Better go for a Note, S3 or even an S2.
I have a Galaxy S. I love it, but yeah it's outdated now. I am toying with the idea of a Note or waiting for a Note2 also. I am going to start doing my research now...
HD2 was a great device, when HTC was top of the game. Things have definitely changed.
I guess for your requirements (going for the best device currently) you have there options.
1. Galaxy note, the display is what makes this device, it is unbeatable.
2. HTC one x, again, I think HTC have had their day with market beating devices. I've seen a lot of reports that the new sense ui just doesn't work, ie causes fcs an awful lot. IM sure they'll update it.
3. Galaxy s 3. Personally I think it beats the HTC one x hands down.
But as a note owner, I would say that quad core just can't be utilised properly as yet, you'll see a lot of google reports saying that dual cores are actually still favoured for coping with more threads and therefore comparible performance over quad. If your looking for visuals as well as performance, the note can't be beat, I've looked at one alongside a galaxy nexus and there really isn't any comparison, you get sooo much more from the note.
That being said, nfc is pretty spectacular if it's somethings you'd use and that is the only thing I crave after.
It's without a doubt that there will be a lot of spectacular devices being released in upcoming months, probably most next gen performance handsets around September or October. It's a tough time to make a decision. All the best.

Thank you all for your quick replies. Especially SpiderTracks (+1), I will most probably just go and order mine from Germany (so that it has the ICS update and it's a bit cheaper).
Before Note came out I was considering getting a Tablet, but then it struck me. I have a desktop PC for heavy lifting, I have a Ultra portable 11,6 Notebook with 7h of battery for portability and when I am surfing in my living room, I have a Smartphone which can also surf reasonably well when needed so if I get a tablet I will have 4 devices that do +/- the same thing and I am only one .
After this reflection I went and sold my desktop PC, as I never got to use it now that I am a father and I have no time for gaming. I also sold my HD2 (the auction just finished so I already have some €€ to help me with the Note purchase).
I am drawn to the Galaxy Note not because it has a dual core CPU, but because it promises to be a hybrid between a tablet and a smatphone. If I can brows comfortably with it, read e-books and still use all the features that HD2 has like GPS, calling, texting, etc. I will be glad with it.
I am just a bit disappointed by the S-pen reviews, as I would love to use it as my minutes taker when I have complicated meetings, but if I can not write reliably and fast on it as many reviewers say, than it has not much use to me.

All this and more, took my HOX back after 3 days, combination of **** battery life and just general poor performance.
Have had my Note for 24 hours or so now and have to say im glad I paid the extra to get it.
Am slightly disappointed by the writing with the S Pen, though i'm sure that Samsung being Samsung wont let rest as it is, no doubt they will be some ROM work upcoming which will let you take advantage of this tool.
I have had a couple of strange looks in the office though while using it today, including at one point someone asking me if I had an iPad to my ear!!!

I was thinking so when I was bought my notes (I will have pocket Tablet ) ... I do not like android but there is nothing similar on the market (Apple is too expensive)
The truth is that I am disappointed with the Note. I think I was wrong because not bought a tablet (the phone is still a phone). I think I'll wait a little ... to wait WP8 ... and then I'll sell it.

German Notes dont come with ICS pre installed. SO you will have to kies Download or OTA the update - dont know if that works from india.
Also the official ICS update has LPY kernel and is therefore a risk of bricking your device.
For me, a simple factory reset from the settings menu bricked my Note.
I got my replacement today and installed the newest cm9 nightly without any problems. Thats also the only ICS rom wihtout the risky LPY kernel.
If i where you, i wouldn't buy from germany to get official ICS. Just buy where you can get it cheap.
By the way: i think you can write quite reliable with the S-pen. I was a bit disappointed too, as i thought the pressure sensitivity would be more noteable. But after installing sketchbook pro and ICS thats no issue anymore.
The samsung apps do quite e good job for quick memos. For long meeting memos you might want to get a fullscreen app with more specific features as the screen is not on the big side for writing.

Thank you all for your help.

i will suggest u really sincerely! Note is a really great device! it is an awesome piece of technology and i definitely would recommend this phone to everyone! but the fact is it is not everyday thing that u go for such an expensive phone. everyone knows the fact that samsung is UGLY at software updates! it does provide next to no support to its phones! i know many of you would be thinking this to be wrong and i should let u all know that would be just for the sake of commenting not the reality! this is the reality that samsung does not provide DESERVING support to its phones!
lets come to the topic! i would recommend u personally and sincerely that u should wait for either S3 or even the Next Galaxy Nexus phone! YES its about to come! it will be equipped with even more better GPU! the Mali-T604. u might also look for the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet! go for the Note if you have LOADS of money!!!
Note all the way.

I want to thank you all for your precious advice. I am considering it all along with my research, but I can't justify spending 380 euros on a phone that is not the Galaxy NOTE. For example the Nexus S is the same price as the German NOTE and the Galaxy SII is about -50 euros cheaper than the NOTE so I cannot justify getting them.
The HTC ONE X is about 100 euros more expensive (650 euros), and so far the reviews have not been great. It is not much smaller than the NOTE without its' flexibility and battery life.
So let’s hope that I get a good one without many bugs, nevertheless I have a 2 year guarantee which I intend to use if something is wrong.

Thank you for the information. Could you please elaborate a bit on it? I understand that it does not come with ICS pre-installed and that I would need to do the update myself, which is not a problem as it is an official one. This is the first time that I read that a phone can be bricked by flashing official updates without a powecut (which can be solved by a laptop) or the USB cord getting disconnected in the middle of the flashing process.
Do all the German G.NOTEs come with this bug or not? The difference in price from buying one in Belgium is about 50-100 euros cheaper to get it from Germany that is why I was considering it. As the ROM is multilingual, and I never use the manual anyway the only prerequisite is being unlocked which they are.
So if you could explain that a bit I would greatly appreciate it.

I don’t have loads of money, that is why I am approaching this purchase very cautiously, but as I explained in the beginning of this reply from the economic point of view it looks like a smart choice when compared to the rest.
All of my smartphones were bought second hand from eBay but in very good conditions, nevertheless the price of a G.Note on ebay that is in good condition is so close to the price of a new one from a reliable shop and a 2 year guarantee that I just can’t justify getting it anywhere else.
Let’s hope I won’t regret it in 2 or 3 months
The note has bottomed out over 200 pounds over here in UK since release, I think it's fantastic value.
Seriously, once you experience the screen, coupled with performance, you won't want anything smaller, it's awesome! All the best

My Note experience
I would like to share my Note experience.
I am using it now for about 2 months and I am really really very happy with it!
The Note is absolutely a unique phone, with its huge and wonderful display and its amazing S-pen.
It took me some time, but now I find myself using more the pen than the finger!
I am also starting again to write with my hand! that's so cool! It was already forgotten - just typing and typing... but now I can write!
So, when I want to send a more personal email, I do it on hand-write! It feels so natural - and there is no one that doesn't wonder about it!
And this experience ONLY the Note can offer!
It surely is not a phone for every one, because it is big! But I am big and have big hands and pockets, so for me is ok.
The decision is yours, but I would warmly recommend you to get your Note as soon as possible!
Regarding bricks, don't worry - just avoid doing factory reset or full wipes, and that's it! This forum is full of safe guides - so just follow them.
My Note I upgraded to ICS using Odin with stock FW (LPY) to avoid waranty void. So far I can say that the ICS upgrade gave the Note an even better experience, including the Premium apps for the S-pen.
The Note 2 will be probably announced just in October, so it means at least 6 months wait and, of course, higher prices too, especially now that the Note prices droped a lot, making it an incredible bargain for a premium phone it is!
Go for it!!!

Link please? I haven't seen any US pricing, only European.
Converting it to dollars doesn't make sense because price points are different for different markets.
i won't feel robbed unless someone takes my tablet away. if i weren't happy with the current condition the tablet is in i sure as hell wouldn't have bought it. if i were concerned with what it may or may not do then i'd either wait to purchase or get something else. i sure as hell won't whine about not getting what product X has when i bought product Y to be what i expected it to be.
So the Note|Pro 12's up for pre-sale. Did everyone think Samsung was kidding when they said the Tab/Note|Pro's were launching in Q1? Samsung's UK site now has M-UX as a feature for the N10.1-14. Before, it was only shown on the global microsite. Does anyone think the N10.1-14's not going to get 4.4/M-UX? From a "when" perspective my WAG is about the time the Tab|Pro 10.1 either goes on sale or pre-sale. Since Samsung makes more on the 12" tablets because of their higher price it would make sense to give them some time on the market alone with 4.4/M-UX. So I'd expect the Tab|Pro 10.1 to follow in February/March with our update starting around the same time taking months to reach all Wi-Fi, 3G, and 4G devices across all regions. The N3 which was announced at the same time as the N10.1-14 is just beginning to get 4.4 so it's not like we're dramatically behind update wise.
Last year's Note 10.1 launched in August, 2012, with Honeycomb with a promised update to ICS. Samsung unveiled the 4.1 and "Premium Suite" update with a ton of improvements and new features on November 23, 2012. The first devices began receiving the update in January, 2013 with some not getting it until March. So for those having an anxiety attack about the receipt of 4.4/M-UX the wheels of progress at Samsung can turn very slowly. And sometimes they can turn very quickly. But counting days on the calendar or trying to reverse engineer Samsung's logic and motives isn't going to make the update come any faster (or slower).
Why do you feel robbed? It's a 12 inch tablet and it's at a higher price point. It's almost exactly the same tablet aside from size. 12 inch is a completly different size range. It would be like getting mad at samsung for releasing the note after you just bought the s4, except in this case the specs are nearly equivalent.

Did you buy the Note as status symbol and not because you need it? Then you will in our time ever have this feeling because one month later a better tablet will be on the market.
But maybe you buy the Note because of his specs and it is really useful for you? Then it will be still the same tablet as on the moment you buy it. What matters a fancy GUI of a tablet which isn't to buy now? What matters other tablets? What matters if we get Kitkat or not?
I got the tablet which I need. It has the size I want, the tools I want, the pen I want and is as fast as I need it. So what?
There's kind of a middle ground between being pissed that Samsung released improved high-end tablets so soon after the N10.1-14 went on sale and saying "c'est la vie, so what if my three month old $500+ tablet's is now outdated." When the new Tab/Note|Pros were announced I'll admit my greatest fear was the N10.1-14 would be orphaned and replaced by a newer Note|Pro 10.1. And my fear wasn't just that there would something shinier than my tablet available but that with so few N10.1-14's sold updates would be few and far between. And try selling an orphan on eBay; resale plummets. Now that M-UX (and assumedly it needs 4.4 to run) has been confirmed for the N10.1-14 I'm hoping it'll soldier on along side the Tab/Note|Pros. So I guess I can sympathize with people's positions on both ends of the spectrum.
For those looking for a comparison...
http://www.phonearena.com/phones/co...,Samsung-Galaxy-NotePRO-12.2/phones/8139,8273
They have the exact same res screen, just slightly bigger, and USB 3.0 aside from ours, which have USB 2.0.
I am currently trying to decide if the Pro models with their incremental improvements are worth the wait and additional money. My inclination is to buy the N10-14 now and use it for all it can do. Tablets are still in their infancy and every few months there will be another new improved version that someone is about to come out with. If this bothers you then you will never be happy with any model anytime soon. But I think real and significant improvements will come along in years rather than months, same as it has been in the phone market. Enjoy your current phone or tablet for what it can do now, and in a couple of years (give or take some) then upgrade to a newer better one. And know that the newer better one then will soon be eclipsed by an even newer even better one very soon.

4.4 has mandatory in app menu key (overflow) so having a menu key these days is completely redundant. I myself would prefer a dedicated multitasking key, it's better than waiting for the long press to engage.

You're right - it shipped with 4.0.3 (or 4.0.4?). And for whatever reason Samsung's not showing last year's 10.1 a lot of love because it's been stuck on 4.1.2 for over a year.

None of my devices run 4.4 and my new g pad 8.3 came with 4.2. I prefer app compatibility over something that was already built into another button. The menu is in the same place where as those programs that have an in app button make me go hunting for it. It would be nice if google gave people an option to set what they want as buttons.
