Is there an antenna build in for nfc???in this cover.
Want to use a 4300mah battery without nfc antenna and use the antenna in the cover.
Is there anybody ?who knows what the other pins on the wireless charging cover do??
Just got the battery without nfc and tried and can confirm that the nfc still works.
So if you purchase a wireless charging cover and a battery no functions are lost.meaning there is a nfc antenna in the official charging cover and cases.

Hey party people....
So I'm watching videos of Russians with their note 3's and aftermarket wireless charging modules glued onto the back case to match with the golden pins on the phone's back to allow for wireless charging. This looks like an easy solution but I have the sview case which has two golden contacts that let the phone know I have an sview case. These contacts just so happen to be where the wireless charging ones would go (correct?) How do these contacts interact with the case/cover? Are they connected to any other part of my case? If I install an aftermarket wireless charger piece on my back cover and cover the sview contacts with the wireless charger contacts, will s-view functionality remain since gold contacts ares still there. I want to figure out with your help if these two functions can live in harmony since they share the same gold contacts. Maybe the other contacts are for wireless charging too? That would make things easier.

I need an expert advice in choosing Samsung original charging back or this Qi receiver. I have gotten used to with NFC to toggle things and I need NFC to work. Right now I have NFC cards (Mifare smartcards) pasted at the back of my desk and I use it over the desk that is 2 cm thick. I don't even have to touch phone to the desk for NFC to work. I hover 5mm above and Tasker takes over (with one profile I copy files off network drive). With so much of automation, I cannot go back to NFC working sporadically or working when I have to physically touch the card.
I do not use protective cases as I want my phone looking slim and sexy. And I heard original wireless back cover is too thick. Please tell me how thick it is. And if you are using Qi receiver, please tell me if you can read tags through 2 cm thick wooden table.
And I found NCF compatible Qi receiver in Amazon (click here). I have a question to people who own original samsung wireless back cover - is there buffer space between back of the cover and battery for thermal insulation? It would justify additional thickness.
I wish someone checked temperature difference at the surface of the battery when using Qi coil vs original back cover.
Having used both, I can assure you that the OEM cover is best for NFC, and I don't even notice the extra thickness. I even prefer the look, as the camera no longer sticks out. It's the only solution that works adequately with my NFC activated BT adapters, and is much more forgiving about placement on the chargers.

And... It's the only solution I've found with working tap to pay.

Thanks I ordered original wireless charging back.
Buy the original wireless charging back, at least that won't void your warranty if something goes wrong.
Anyone using the qi enabled s-view flip cover? I'm wondering if it's possible to charge the phone with qi when you have the flip cover open and put it on the back of the phone?
Would be nice if it worked as I would be able to use wireless charging in my car while running waze.
Hi all,
My note-4 has a number of pins under the back cover.
I believe that three of these are for wireless charging of the note-4's battery (according to the pinouts of aftermarket charging pads I have seen).
However the Note-4 has 9 pins on the rear. I am wondering what the remaining 6 pins are used for?
Thanks.
-Rowan
Just bumping this question as the device has been out for a while and I have not been able to find the answer anywhere else.
Thanks
S-view cover without wireless charging has 3 pins and I assume some of them are for original accesory check. I think S-view with charging uses 4 pins. Some of them may be used for calibration and diagnostic during manufacturing process (some pins to supply power to device without battery and some to run tests, writing firmware, imei, serial number etc). I could be mistaken but I think it woild be easier to use those pins than micro usb.

they are used for the NFC antenna.
Galaxy S4 mini GT-i9195 comes with nfc and there are multiple apps to read e-passports (like nfc passport reader). The nfc antenna is part of the battery.
Trying to read two passports only one could be read successfully. Connection to the second passport got interrupted. Trying to change the position of the mobile did not help. Removing the cover of the mobile did not help either.
The nfc antenna is glued to the back of the battery. In case one has two batteries it is possible to modify one battery. Li-Ion batteries may burn, so only continue if you know what you are doing.
The outer protection foil has to be removed. Then the nfc antenna can be carefully peeled off from the battery. Just keep the two connections to the battery connected. Finally the nfc antenna can be glued with tape to some plastic card as shown on the attached photography. - The bottom of the battery has to be insulated with tape. Plastic card and battery have to be connected with tape to protect the two thin antenna connectors.
Result: second passport could be read. Probably because the antenna coil is no longer disturbed by the metal of the battery underneath.
Credits go to user mistayoung from s3forums.com (Extended Battery Case Mod) who documented how he moved the nfc antenna of a galaxy s3 on top of a maxi size replacement battery.
hi, when i take off the back cover to the left of the battery are three copper terminals and above the battery are 2 terminals. curious, what are they for ?
one is for wireless charging and NFC if you add a cover with a built-in coil and chip like the official Samsung s-view cover, can't remember which one is which but it should tell you in the manual that is on your phone
thanx. i wonder if there is a pin-out diagram detailing whats pos/neg.
What's your plan?
hi there.
those are the NFC connectors.
the usb charging connector is mash up. looking for ways to charge it ?
@schneidz just buy a wireless charging receiver (they are not that expensive, about 6 USD) and buy a wireless charger and you should be good to go
thankx, @ShaDisNX255 for now i cut a usb cable and stripped the wires and connect them to the battery (red -> +; black -> -) to charge for about an hour.
