Hi,
Most of these are supposedly taken from the camera in Xperia... They look great for a 3.2 mega-pixel camera...
http://xperiancers.com/images/
Best regards.
I think only one picture was really taken with the Xperia X1.
You can flip the images and only one image has a comment which states that the picture was taken using the X1 camera.
Hmm... i think you may be right. Their main post led me to believe that most of them were, but i probably interpretted it wrong.
but the picture lineout looks cool with the movements and such
Yes quite cool and it's free to use: tiltViewer
By the way: Here you can find the photo taken with the Xperia X1 in higher resolution: click

"With the Beta ROM, the house was more yellow then red but now, with the final ROM, the camera quality definitely improved and colors are right now." They say this for the i900... so hopefully we'll see further improvement in Xperia's final ROM.
The Omnia has a pretty decent photo quality for a mobile phone, but to be honest, the X1, Diamond and Touch Pro is really pathetic.
Let's see if the final ROM gives some improvement on this, but my hopes are not very high. (Fortunately, I don't need the camera anyways)

But he also stated following:
An image shot using the camera on the Xperia X1 at the media preview event on Monday the 15th Sept 08. Bear in mind that this is in very low light, hence the motion blur.
So low light conditions are always difficult and of course especially for an inbuilt mobile phone camera.

Why you said that? There is not reason to believe these pictures weren't taken with the X1. Maybe you secretly wished to be bad.
The ones at the bottom OBVIOUSLY, were not. those the original art from Feb 10th 2008. All the others they HAVE text on the reverse but who cares it's just estupid effect of the creators of this viewer that is nice but just annoying. If I want to see a picture or download it I don't need all that tilting.
Well maybe you're right though I don't believe it.
You can also have a look at the flicker stream here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/
The naming and the quality of the pictures is very different.
But okay, unfortunately they removed all EXIF otherwise it would have been easy to find out, but so I can only guess by indication.
Much better photos form X1
Lot of good photos taken using X1:-

( in the bottom 3 GALLEYS)
The photo quality is better then I would have expected, though it can't compete with a compact camera, it shows a really decent quality for a smartphone.
Very nice

And a compact camera can not compite the other features of the Xperia.
C'mon... we all know that.
In a positive way, I would compare these great pictures to the Touch Pro. Oranges and Oranges.
I kinda want to see a side by side of the X1 and the K790a/K800i. Judging by the pictures on all the sites the camera on the X1 appears to be far worse than those 2 year old handsets.
Yup, they are worse, worse than most current cameraphones (N95, N82, Innov8, Omnia, many other Sony models). You have to live with that with this phone, but at least they're serviceable enough in decent light conditions.
My camera on my wizard is covered by a skin right now so that goes to show you how much I care about a camera lol.

You wrote that pictures from the z1 are washed out. Actually I think that pics from samsung phones are too saturated. I guess colors from z1 are more natural. Last night I tried to shoot with the z1 and the htc one. Colors from htc one were more cool but not natural at all. The z1 was more balanced.

Thanks for sharing.
to me it seems the G2 and note 3 have better camera (or software optimization) than the GS4 and the Z1. Honestly, the Z1 seems a bit overrate. i hope this new update delivers what it says it does (great pictures) and prolly i would buy it. If not, i rather keep my GS4.
Well I don't know what some people are seeing but the Z1 seemed consistently the best for the pictures throughout that test. Colour and detail was lovely. The S4 was good but fell down on a couple of the pictures. I didn't watch the video comparison. I was quite impressed with the Google Glass pics too for a 5mp camera they weren't too shabby

I didn't see much details on the bricked walls nor the grass lines in the background of the pictures. Only the HDR version of the Z1 captured some details. The rest of the phones did well without HDR. The video was nicer on the G2 and Z1 then Note 3. The Gs4 was too shaky. Then the G2 volume was low.

only Nokia is Winner.. all other manufacturers are making us fool and giving us a lollipop....and rather i would say that they have not true capability to make great camera phone for smartphone.....many people continue to cry for camera and many of others would also be in upcoming days .........here are some exampless

yeah those pictures after the update arent any good either. I think my Nexus with the Camera Zoom app takes better picture. 20MP this and that is just gimmicks to sell phones. Well, at least is water proof
I had hopes for this FW to fix stuff to jump on it and grab the Z1, but no thanks. And i dont mean to disrespect anyone, is a matter of choice. I have two babies, who I take quick snaps all the time, and it is important to me the phone i have take good pics.

I'm glad you're not exaggerating too much...
Seriously, the Z1 can take some pretty sweet shots and I feel things have improved (again) with the latest FW... They just hyped it way too much (or released the phone too early). I agree about Nokia being a great camera-phone, but that doesn't mean all the rest is crap.
Hell, the S4, Note3, LG2, Z1, One... They can all take pretty sweet pictures, they all have their issues (saturation, noise, etc) but remember that they are phones with a camera and keeping that in mind they perform pretty decent imo. They're not standalone cameras no, but beats having to cary one around all the time.
Anyway, I'm still hoping future updates will improve things even more.
Hi,
Someone that had the lg g2 can say advantages or disadvantages of the camera xperia z3 compact with the lg g2 camera (shutter speed, focus video....)
Thanks and sorry for my English!
G2 camera is much more bad. Focus speed on Z3 is much faster. I didn't have time to check video focus. Images in low light conditions are also much better. Didn't have any blurred photo, out of 50.

G2 stock cam is super suck, you will need to use Jishnu's G2 mod cam and the different is day and night. BTW, the focus speed should be improved on 4.4 on G2.
I use last g3 port with xdabbeb's camera. It doesn't help.

Ofcourse simple sample comparison is not the whole story, you have focus speed, stabilization plays a huge part especially in low light, features like manual exposure setttings etc. I just emphasized on picture quality but there's more to it to compare. But most of our quality perception on these flagships with great cameras comes mainly from pixel peeping We pinch to zoom and find deifferences that in real world they are most of the times indiscernible. At least for daylight pics, in evening/night shots you can spot differences between phones more easily.
I'll post the same here as I did on the Z3 forum:
I must say that i'm a little disappointed with the camera. I've just being comparing it (I have the Z3 compact actually) to the LG G2. While the Z3 takes the shots far faster and is faster to focus (my G2 has xdabbeb's mod), the G2's detail is far superior unless you play with the settings on the Z3. Even after I've played with the settings, the G2's 13MP shots are better.
I'm purely talking 1:1 zoom here, when zoomed out they're as good as each other. Ultimately i'm after a camera that I can take shots of the kids (who move!) in relatively low light so the Z3 is best for me.
I know this is 'just' a smartphone camera and not a DSLR but i think it's fair to be disappointed when comparing the latest and greatest (and Sony themselves believe their camera is 'the best' and market it as such) to a 12 - 18 month old camera (with a very scratched lens!)
I'm happy to post comparison shots if required, but i believe this thread is meant to be a showcase, not a z3-bashing...!
Samsung Galaxy S6 vs Sony Xperia Z3 Camera Test: http://youtu.be/SDgmFC2H5eU
Well, well, well...
I think some people will start a war because of Z3 LOL!!!
Sent from my AWESOME Xperia Z3!
Both did pretty well, though I give a slight edge to the Z3, seemed more "natural" in some of those pics to me.
Then again both use Sony Exmor Sensors. The S6 uses the Sony IMX240 and the Z3 uses the Sony IMX 220.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exmor
To be honest I can't really see the difference since the pictures were converted to videos and that would made it difficult to compare. Some pics z3 wins in color but some also s6 has more detail. Both performed great at lowlights but i think I have to give it to s6 for now. O need to see real file/picture comparison. Z3 is great but "superior auto" is messed up intentionally.

Well a lot of people like warmer temp photo's but to be honest the Samsung one has gone too far. Not sure what the point of that comparison was for exactly, maybe just trying to get youtube thumbs up
This proves to me that my Z3 camera is faulty as I never get that kind of sharp detail on grass and leaves, it's always a bit fuzzy.

Holy shizit! Impressive detective work. I would never have spotted that.
Let me just first put it out there that I'm a loyal Sony guy. I've owned the Xperia TL, Xperia ZL, Xperia Z1 and now the Xperia Z3C.
With that said, I knew the Sony cameras took subpar pics, whether in full auto or manual mode, they just look bad. Add low light or indoor to the mix, and you've got what looks like a pic from a 2005 Nokia phone. Sorry, I know we all love our Xperias, but Sony should be ashamed of themselves for doing this, considering that they make awesome DSLRs and point and shoots.
So why am I being a rabble rouser all of a sudden? Well, I just got a Note 4 as my work phone and needless to say, I was blown away by the camera results. The differences are night and day between the two. Sadly, I'm supposed to be carrying my work phone just during work days, but I found myself leaving my Z3C at home and going out with the Note 4 this weekend, and you should see the pics I took.
I don't know if the lens is good but the software is bad on the Sony, but if there is any hope that Lollipop will make it better with RAW, I sure hope Sony takes advantage of it.
I agree. The camera of the Lumia 925 that I had, was much better than the camera's compact Z3.
To be honest, this camera does not please me one bit, outside the fact that it does not have optical image stabilizer.
Check the "post pictures that you have taken with your z3c" or something thread. Also, photos will naturally look better on amoled. Transfer your z3c pictures to Note 4 and then look at them again. Might seem better. I find both cameras great by the way

I wouldn't say suck. I'd just say average.
If you buy this phone for the camera, you're doing it from the wrong direction.
It'd be like buying this phone for the 'best speakers on the market', when HTC One's are those.
The Z3C phone is the best for compact and power; it's a pocket rocket and that's what it specializes at first and foremost, second being its water proof-dust proof without being some rugged phone.

You are comparing a quad HD display to a 720p. You're not comparing the camera performance. Just the display. I'd do the comparison again on a PC
I still don't understand what is wrong with Sony's compact camera ... my compact camera is taking great pictures
No, I've been comparing the photos on my thunderbolt display, so no bias toward the Note 4's screen in any way.
And no, I'm not all sold on the Note 4, I still can't live without the compactness of my Z3C.
I will take identical photos from both phones today and post here.
Z3c camera doesn't suck, it's "just" above average.
The only other phone with superior camera that rivals Z3C's performance, size and specs is the iPhone 5s to be honest.
Samsung phones have the best cameras overall, but their devices aren't one-hand friendly.
If you want top notch pictures then you need to buy a decent camera.. For a mobile phone camera it does its job, I have no issues with it.

There is no universal recipe for taking good photos. All parameters are heavily dependant on the camera specs.
In my case, I'm taking usable photos even at ISO6400 and, with a size reduction afterwards, I can even go higher (12800).
The aperture is dependant on the lens you are using. A too large aperture will lead to blurry edges and soft images on cheap lenses. A too closed one will generate light fringing leading to artefacts. Then there is the focal length .... again, the lenses are behaving totally different.
It's all coming down to trial and error and understanding the limitations of your equipment.
And coming back on-topic, I would love to have full manual controls over the Z3C's camera (including long exposure and RAW data). That will allow for truly great photos with this tiny camera.
The most terrible thing I am concerned about is "soft skin" effect that seems to be always turned on.

Actually I took that picture with the z3c just to show what I'm actually using to take photos . The phones camera was on auto but, the camera itself is only part of the picture. There is also framing and there is also light.
BTW, these are a bunch of samples captured today, on manual mode, with z3c running lollipop (for who is interested). In my opinion the quality of the camera is pretty low but still, usable in case of emergency.
