Does anybody know where i can get or how i can change my Samsung keyboard so that the key have the alternate characters on them? As an example, on Omega rom i ran on the S5, the M key on the keybaord had a little ? mark on it, if i long pressed it, the ? would pop up, on my Note 4 stock W8 keyboard, the M key has nothing, when i long press on it, it doesnt do anything. I have to long press the . key to show up all the alternate characters.
Anybody?

That symbol can be achieved from root as long as I remember.
That's one bad of samsung keyboard, they don't enable symbol with long press.
If you're rooted try flashing the echoerom zip file over it. Hes loaded the keyboard with alt symbols on top and it works beautifully

I don't want to flash echo rom, I'm waiting for omega. But I downloaded the rom and tried to extract the keyboard apk but can't find it in app or private_app folder. Anybody know where it's found or what name it has?

Any help please??
If you go into the settings on the stock keyboard, you can set 'My hot keys'.
Assign pretty much anything to the number keys. Only downside, you'll have to remember what you set as there is no reference on the keyboard.

Don't have that on my keyboard. You would know where the keyboard apk is hiding in a rom wouldn't you? As of now, I'm back on SwiftKey but I don't like it as much as I keep typing the . Instead of a space

I have accidentally switched off swype keyboard and only get the stock Samsung keyboard for all typing operations now.
I still have swype settings in the main settings panel but no way to make swype the default keyboard that I can find.
Can anyone help me to reactivate swype please?

I think you can just press and hold the input area and you're presented with the keyboard option to use and you can just pick swype.
Does someone knows how do i use the speech to text on my sms? I'm kinda new to this android thing.
Thanks.

I'm using the HD2 Samsung GSII Rom and I can't get the applications button to where it should be (the right side) it just stays centered. Also I can't put any other apps in the 4 other spaces next to the applications button. Any Ideas?
Attached is a screen shot.
Have you pressed the 'applications' button to go into the app drawer? Once there press 'menu' bottom left hard key. Then 'edit'. You should be able to move the button and drag others onto the dock from there.

Exactly what I was looking for, thank you.
Is there a way to disable or uninstall the Chinese keyboard? I have no use for it.
Sorry, don't have a GSII but if it's the standard keyboard that ships with the rom then I don't think so.
Need to do a bit of searching my friend.

Hi. I've seen some pics of galaxy s4 keyboard on internet that every key has a symbol on top right of it, that types it when it is long-pressed. But mine is not like that and every key has only a letter on it and long-pressing it shows a pop up with other similar letter. Like when I long-press "s" there is ß, ś, š, and ş and no punctuation marks. So i have to press sym button, enter the symbol i need and then press the button again to type letters. I searched the setting but found nothing about it. Can it be changed? I attached two pictures. The screenshot is from my phone and the other pic is the one that I want mine to be like.
I also noticed that all the phones that has the punctuation marks for long-press are white! don't know if there is a connection but in all the pictures and videos in youtube, black ones don't have the feature but white ones do.
Some custom roms have it enabled. You can also enable it on any rom if your phone is rooted. I have done so myself. Not sure if any firmwares have it enabled at the stock level though.
Is your phone rooted?

Use root explorer or similar and put the following in your others.xml file. You can find it in the system / csc folder.
<CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>true</CscFeature_Sip_UseSymbolInCMKey>
<CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>de;en_US;en_GB</CscFeature_Sip_EnableSymbolInSecondary>
Make sure you enable read / write and open with text editor then save. Reboot then it will be activated.
See mine below. It's the second last entry from the bottom.

When keyboard is open, long press the microphone symbol (bottom row, between SYM and spacebar). A bar with six icons will pop up. 3rd from the left (looks like a battery to me) will open up anything in clipboard. This is the only way I'm aware of but not sure if there's another way.

Thanks for pointing this out. Also if you long press on one od the items in the clipboard, it opens a contextual menu with additional options for your clips. I like the lock feature. I've always used an app called "Clipper " but I'm gonna play with Samsung's Clipboard app and see if I like it .

Thank you guys for this. I didn't know that was possible.
Is there a way to get to the clipboard if you're not using the Samsung keyboard? I am using Swype.
Thanks again.

Good question. Occasionally I'm in some text editor and I see a panel of clipboard of copied and cut text snippets, but I don't know how to recreate it.

Yeah, I've been using Clipper for about 3 years now, the best I've found so far. I like the sync feature with the PRO version because it sync's across all my android device. I like that you can create sets, I have an email set that holds all my email addresses. Very handy little app. Haven't had any problems using it with my Note 3.

Select two or more language and be sure that you saved and selected the languages, then in keyboard slide your finger on the space button either left or right to select the next language selected in your settings.
Hit "Thanks button" if this helped you.

There is a problem with your firmware .
Your firmware is damaged! You better update our flash a new firmware.
Its a problem with accessibility options. If you have installed greenify for example will cause this problem. Try removing any apps from accessibility or use another keyboard.
