I have accidentally switched off swype keyboard and only get the stock Samsung keyboard for all typing operations now.
I still have swype settings in the main settings panel but no way to make swype the default keyboard that I can find.
Can anyone help me to reactivate swype please?

I think you can just press and hold the input area and you're presented with the keyboard option to use and you can just pick swype.
Does someone knows how do i use the speech to text on my sms? I'm kinda new to this android thing.
Thanks.

By "Settings" do you mean in the settings menu, or when you long press and select "Input Method"?
settings menu, where should I long press??? In the keyboard itself it wont work..
Thanks !
I had a similar problem where my swype keyboard completely disappeared. Switching to a different keyboard and back didn't remedy the problem. To get it back, I uninstalled swype and reinstalled it, now it works like new.

Long press on a text input box (ie in a new text message) select input method. Choose Swype.
Hi,
I read many messages on voice input suggesting to install HTC_IME mod to get a keyboard with microphone icon. I did install hi_22 and I can configure HTC_IME mod via settings/language and keyboard. Still I can't get the proper keyboard. When I press the text area I get the chance to switch to HTC_IME input but in that case no keyboard appear.
I used hi_22 but I'm not sure that was the correct one. I have wildfire with android 2.2.1. I don't really even know which is the display. What should I do? (Btw: voice search is correctly working).
Any hints?
Thanks

Ok, so it's not even worthy to try the low resolution HTC_MOD... and is there any other way to get the microphone icon to use voice input?
TIA

I have had my Gs4 for 5 months and a very annoying issue has recently arose.
Normally, while typing using the default Samsung keyboard it would remember commonly used words such as my email address or company name. Mysteriously this feature has disappeared. I checked under settings and both predictive text and personalized data are enabled. I haven't changed any keyboard settings and just forgot all my words and doesn't seem to be able to relearn them.
I was so frustrated that I went back to swiftkey. It learns my words perfectly but I have been really spoiled with the dedicated numbers row on the Samsung keyboard. I just wish it would work properly. Please help! Thanks.

Does anybody know where i can get or how i can change my Samsung keyboard so that the key have the alternate characters on them? As an example, on Omega rom i ran on the S5, the M key on the keybaord had a little ? mark on it, if i long pressed it, the ? would pop up, on my Note 4 stock W8 keyboard, the M key has nothing, when i long press on it, it doesnt do anything. I have to long press the . key to show up all the alternate characters.

That symbol can be achieved from root as long as I remember.
That's one bad of samsung keyboard, they don't enable symbol with long press.
If you're rooted try flashing the echoerom zip file over it. Hes loaded the keyboard with alt symbols on top and it works beautifully

I don't want to flash echo rom, I'm waiting for omega. But I downloaded the rom and tried to extract the keyboard apk but can't find it in app or private_app folder. Anybody know where it's found or what name it has?

If you go into the settings on the stock keyboard, you can set 'My hot keys'.
Assign pretty much anything to the number keys. Only downside, you'll have to remember what you set as there is no reference on the keyboard.

Don't have that on my keyboard. You would know where the keyboard apk is hiding in a rom wouldn't you? As of now, I'm back on SwiftKey but I don't like it as much as I keep typing the . Instead of a space
