Stuck in the bootloop, data recovery options? - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi Everyone,
The phone is getting stuck at the ATT logo. I can get get it to stock android recovery and performed the cache wipe already. I took the battery out and and the SD card too. Nothing has changed.
Odin sees the device ok. The phone was rooted and safestrap installed. Can I still do data recovery on the phone and get some files off the internal memory?
Cheers!

Try going into recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache, wiping data is always a last resort

Have a read around the safestrap thread, probably your best option.

Help me fix my phone

I'm a total newbie when it comes to flashing ROMs and whatnot.
I got clockwork installed correctly and downloaded the superclean ROM to my SD card.
I rebooted into recovery and tried a data wipe/factory reset. It ran and ran and ran for over an hour and I couldn't find any info on the web about how long it should take so I pulled the battery thinking it was hung.
I now boot up and it goes into Android System Recovery. At the bottom it says "Manual Mode"
The SD card is still installed.
It gives me the following options but I can't select any of them.
Reboot system now
apply sdcard:update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe data cache partition
What can I do?

Select apply sdcard:update.zip, and press home softkey. this will take you to green recovery screen.
Odin
Your going to have to use odin! Search for instructions on flashing back to stock using odin!

Awesome... that booted me back into my previous rom.... wish I would have known that earlier.
How long should I wait for Clockwork to wipe my data?

a data wipe should take no longer than 15-20 seconds...a cache wipe is usually almost instant

Did you flash clockwork within rom manager? There should be an option for the fascinate. Do it twice just for grins. The reboot into cwm and try it again.

Yep I did that first.... I just attempted it a couple of times this morning and it seemed to work today.
It didn't get hung up saying "Wiping Data...." It went to another line and said Formatting Data and sat there for about 30 seconds and completed the wipe. I"m not sure what was different than what I did last night but it worked.

[Q] Boot loop after trying to root

Hello,
I just purchased a Xoom 3G MZ601, configured it and upgraded it to HC 3.1, then joined this forum.
Unfortunately I think I already messed my Xoom
I tried to root it following the Universal Xoom Root procedure from this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242241
- adb and fastboot commands worked ok, I could send the recovery recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150-cwm.img file
- I could boot in android recovery and install the Xoom-Universal-Root.zip from sd card.
But since then I get a boot loop on the "blue" animation.
I still can access Fastboot protocol support and the android recovery mode, but I have no clue what to do or to install to recover my Xoom
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thanks a lot
so you unlocked the bootloader and were able to flash clockworkmod? i am not sure have you tried clearing dalvik cache and cache? or maybe even do a full wipe

Thanks for your quick reply
Yes, the clockwork mod is recovery-Tiamat-R4c-100611-1150.
I wiped data/full reset, cache and dalvik cache, still the same bot loop issue
post this in the actual thread for the universal root and also look at the last few comments they might help

Go to this thread and download the newer solarnz recovery img file. I thought I had updated it in my guide, but I think that's why you're bootlooping. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1074979

[HELP] I think I have bricked it.

Guys, I was about to flash a new rom (Omega v2 for i9500) then I wiped the whole thing in CWM. But in addition to that I have formatted the system (mounts and format > format system), now device won't boot. I can get in Download Mode and Recovery mode but it just won't boot...
Now I am downloading a stock ROM from SamMobile; would it fix it if i flash it via Odin? And any suggestions?
Please tell me something because I am feeling really bad =/.

wipe data and cache and dalvik, reflash the rom, rewipe data and cache and dalvik, reboot.
if not, you have odin.

You can't now. We always advise the people for read before do something. You can read in the guide:
"- Users are recommended to back-up all data before rooting the device."
*EDIT: You will have to wipe all (data/factory reset, cache and dalvik cache) and flash new stock firmware :highfive:

At first I forgot to tell you that my s4 is encrypted and i used the default encrypted from android.
In the past few days i doing some things could serve me in my case and I need help from everyone
1. i change the recovery to TWRP 2.7.0.1 using odin and i try to mount the storage but i do not find my data is't the data is removed ? but when the s4 boot before black screen he ask me my password for encryption and he knows is't wrong or not, Is this indicates my data is not removed ?
2.i try to find my data over using adb shell but i can not find anything.
My question is: Is my files still exist or not.
Can't you just try to wipe from the TWRP recovery.
1. Boot into the recovery. Then select Wipe. Then "Swipe to factory reset". This won't wipe your internal storage.
2. Flash a custom rom.
3. Boot.
You probably need an external sd card to put the rom on.
My guess is that it should work.

You need to be more specific. What data? You mean phonenumbers, text and apps? Those are lost.
Data on your internal storage like pictures, video and music are not going to be wiped.
Sorry to say, but you don't have any option execpt flashing firmware.
If you want to try other tricks etc so please be careful, your phone can be brick with single wrong step.

In last 3 days I flashed 4 different 4.4.2 firmwares on i9505 with ODIN. But I was surprised to see that after successful flashing I find everything same in sattings (Wallpaper, KK Launcher etc...) then I checked *ABOUT PHONE* to make sure that phone is flashed or not. But I was flashed, after that I went to recovery mode and factory reset to wipe everything. All I want to say that is it possible that after flashing my all settings remain same on newly flashed firmware...?

does wiping cache in recovery do anything?

Hi, it might sound as a noob question but does wiping cache partition in stock recovery do anything?
Reason I'm asking is that I remember doing it on my previous phones (in TWRP) and the phone would take quite some time to reboot afterwards and show a dialog such as "android is starting, optimizing app 1/100"... I wiped the cache partition in stock recovery, logs say that the cache was wiped but the phone reboots in seconds (I see no difference with a normal reboot), so I'm curious...
Thanks!

That was because you wiped the dalvik/art cache. Can't do that in Stock recovery.

or maybe it was wiping Dalvik in TWRP that caused the phone to take longer to reboot, anyways when Android is updated the phone goes through app optimization at reboot, can anybody clarify please?
thanks
