Since I travel a fair bit, I usually only buy unlocked phones.. but this time I got a locked Note 4 so I'm looking a place to unlock it.
I came across this for the note 3
http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-note-3-how-unlock-sim-free-1442071
Does anyone know if it will work for the note 4?
Recently unlocked mine for 16£ used the company on link below. Have used them a few times very reliable if I may say.

I've used cellunlocker on most of my devices in the past and I used it again for my Note 4 but for some reason, it took them about a few days to get my unlock code because they said they weren't able to get it for due to some database issue. They said they would issue me a refund. After the 5th day, they eventually were able to get my unlock code.
Note 4 (Vodafone UK)
I can confirm
that www.cellunlocker.net
yesterday after 8 hours sent me the NCK
for my Note 4 (Vodafone UK)
so finaly I can use any SIM card from now!
The price for this was $39.99 (£27.19)
which is great
compared to North London street guys (£40-£45)
or to Vodafone (£19.90)
who was unable to give me this code
because they don't have it for my IMEI in their database!!!
Well done www.cellunlocker.net
Good job, I am happy.
I just purchased a code for my Vodafone Ireland Galaxy Note 4 because I also travel a lot, so I'm hoping for the best! I'll report back
I unlocked my EE PAYG Note 4 yesterday for £8.99 (the unlock code was bought from EE) it is now unlocked I have a vodafone sim working in it. However, the 3g/4g is not currently working and I do not know why??? I even went into the vodka shop and the guy has just swapped the sim but I really do not know what is happening. We suspect that vodafone had updated it computer systems and I have come into logger heads with it; or my ee software on the note 4 is causing the problem??

Look up the Vodafone (UK I assume) 4g APN on their website as that might be the reason you're not getting 4g. I know my provider has a specific APN for 4g.
Also, enjoy your vodka.
My problem is a little more complicated at the Vodafone server end as they are having difficulties even giving me a working sim card, as my phone number has become corrupted as I swapped my sim card in the shop, this is viewable on my phone info where I have no phone number visible and when I go through voda help line my mobile number is not recognised. It is a complete mess, but I will be receiving a new sim this week and by that time my PAC should have swapped over and hopefully it will all be fixed????

Hey guys I'm new to this site and I just ordered a Dell Venue Pro from eBay. The listing said the mobile was locked to the T-Mobile USA network, I live in the UK. If I phone T-Mobile for an unlock code will they give it me so I can use it on the UK O2 network? Also once the phone will be unlocked to the O2 network will I be able to use it worldwide for example in India? Thanks!

tmo won't help you. email [email protected] with your imei to get the code
now a days i hear that neither tmo nor dell help you out unlocking the phone.
best would be to check on ebay. there is a guy with username fire who does it instantly it will cost you between 30-50USD but its instant.

just to add to my previous statement first try sending email to [email protected] as suggested by @weatherx and if that does not work only then use ebay to get it unlocked.

Phone Call
Well I phoned T-Mobile USA (08454125000) and asked them about my situation. The lady was very helpful and told me that when I receive my phone I should dial 611 and speak to the operator who will give me an unlock code and my phone will be unlocked to all networks in the UK. I asked her if there was any charges for getting the unlock code. She said T-Mobile UK defenitely charges but she wasn't sure about USA which is odd as she was there. So friends I will be receiving my phone tomorrow and I will try the 611 process. If that doesn't work then I'll email Dell. If that doesn't work then I'll visit the High Street. From all this bother I think I'll just buy an unlocked device next time no matter the price! I would also like to make you aware all UK buyers that a fully unlocked Dell Venue Pro is going for £240 and comes with a free headset and 1 year Dell warranty and P&P is free. Unfortunately this came on just after I purchased my device from another seller otherwise I would have bought this. I can't post a link on here but if you just search for it click on the first multi view option and its the first one from there. Please note I'm not advertising this, it's not my product, I'm not selling it, I am just making you aware.
I have been with Sprint with their version of the GS2 for years (HTC EVO 4G & PHOTON 4G) but their data speeds even on 4G have been deteriorating steadily over the years so I was ready and waiting for something to jump ship with.
The short version:
I ordered the GT-i9300 16GB (blue) from Expansys.com.
Also a micro sim cutter from Amazon : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004FQUWKS/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00
Within 48 hrs I had both items.
I went to AT&T and had my number ported over and bought the cheapest $12.99 crappy phone and had them activate it.
Using the sim cutter I cut the sim card to micro size and inserted into my GT-i9300 and got the "NO SIM" error.
I thought I messed up the sim while cutting it but when I put it back into the crappy phone it worked.
Did some research and found some scary stuff mentioning bent pins in the sim slot of the phone...blah blah.
Luckily I found a thread somewhere mentioning a user from Denmark having the same issue - he said that some "older & outdated" sim cards will not be recognized by the GT-i9300.
Went back to the AT&T store....told them the buttons where too small on the crappy phone and that I bought a chinese off-brand phone with BIG buttons but the
store clerk told me I would need a micro sim card for it and that I should come back with one.
I got a micro sim right away and was told I would have to activate it when its in the actual phone.
2 minutes later I was in my car - micro sim in the GT-I9300 - no errors whatsoever - calling AT&T - activated the sim's serial number - was never asked about IMEI numbers or phone brands since my account was already active with zeee crappy phone.
The phone is working perfectly, I am getting HSDPA+ speeds and KIES updated it to whatever firmware was available automatically. (see screenshot)
That is pretty much it, I'd like to thank all the XDA users who took the time to figure out this method and posted it for all of us to benefit from.
Thank you again.

I don't know what the "medianet" plan is.
This post was to inform / confirm that the "unlimited non-smartphone" data plan can be had with the international GT-i9300 using the method that was posted here on XDA and that I have followed.
Medianet is the non smart phone data plan. I went and asked for a micro sim, telling them I was getting a sgs3 but I didn't want to activate the smart phone plan until I received the phone phone in the mail. They said okay, gave me the micro sim and an adaptor for free from one of their old micro sims and went on my way.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
A-ha! Thanks for explaining that, I am new with AT&T.. didn't know they called it Medianet.
I read that thread but can't seem to find it again.
Can someone post a link please?
Thanks!

Doesn't look like you are getting much of a signal........
Congrats, but there's a MASSIVE thread about this already:

Now you just need to sort through all the modems/radios that would give you the best signal. DXLF3 does wonders for me.:good:
My contract for my S4 had expired, i decided to ring and cancel so i didnt get charged on a rolling basis, two hours later i saw a good deal in Phones4U, it was a galaxy note 3 and i explained what i had just done and they said it was fine and that it would be ported etc etc..after a week and numerous calls to EE the sim had not ported, it took a great deal of effort to get anything done and eventually was passed (after many dropped calls) to a UK based english speaking team that deal with porting, they explained that something had gone wrong and that it will be sorted..it was and the note 3 with the sim card from phones4u took my previous number. I then wanted to sell the S4 but whenever a EE or Tmobile sim is inserted it says no sim, i went about unlocking the phone which now works with all the carriers but still wont read either Tmob or EE sims, i took it to different shops and one sharp guy spotted the sim i had in my galaxy was a store demo sim which should not have been issued to me..it has my number ported onto it..what can i do to get this back to normal working on all sims..is it something they have done and is being refused by my imei number ??..i have complained to EE but the poor quality overseas call centres just keep saying the pohne is damaged, even though it works fine with all other carriers.
How about going to an EE physical shop and explaining to them what happened?

I should have elaborated. The 'different shops' as per my post I took it to were ee and t mobile shops, they don't know ow and just tell you a load of crap to get you out the store as they are not earning any money whilst helping after sales customers.

Friend is selling his brand new phone he bought with contract from EE UK a couple of weeks back.
EE has a policy of 6 months minimum before they will unlock it themselves.
Can I just go through an unlock code website/ebay/ corner shop to get the phone unlocked? If so,what do you recommend?
The phone will aslo be used in another country,no the UK.
Thank you !
root and flash right firmware
are your friend really buy it?
hear stolen phones
Any other say other than root? Online codes seem nice and easy.
If i were to factory reset it later on,will i lose the unlock?
Thank you again!

If you have tried a ee sim and it says not registered on network, this means it is blocked and has either been reported lost or stolen, this means there is nothing you can do to make that phone work on a network.
If the phone does work and can make and recieve calls on a ee sim then all you need to do to unlock is to put a ee pay as you go sim in and fill in the form from the link provided. The unlock costs 9 pound direct from EE.

Just unlock from EE for free they wont charge you. You can unlock via third party if you wont but it wont be blocked or anything unless you report it stolen to them or you stop paying the contract bill for that phone

Unlock with ee is only free after you have had the phone and contract for a minimum of 6 months.
EE charge normally, but any website should be able to unlock a device for a fee. Agree with what people are saying, though, it's almost certainly stolen if an EE sim doesn't work in it.
Unless EE have changed their policy recently, the will charge you to unlock even if you are outside of contract. They tried to charge me when I unlocked my S4. I unlocked through the EE app, and I argued that the information that I was to be charged was outside of the bounds of my screen (I had to scroll all the way down to see that I was about to be charged) so they wavered the fee.
EE Unlock Link
It's not stolen. It was either reported stolen or stopped paying contract. Probably the latter.
The phone is a gift for someone outside the UK. I only want to know if he is going to be able to use it with no problems.
Purchased mine on OfferUp. Was told paid off but two months later when I requested unlock from T-Mobile, Rep told me there is still balance on it. Could anyone recommend a reliable and safe unlock service for the T-Mobile 6t?
I already talked to TMobile on T-Mobile app and Tweeter for weeks. They only asked me to find the original seller....

It seems to me your phone has been blacklist by Tmo for an unpaid account so I dont think any of the sim unlock services can do anything about it. Is your phone working with Tmo network now?

Correct, just to convert the TMO 6T variant to OOS without the required sim/bootloader unlock first, the normal way!

Well, the balance is not on my account, I can't do anything about it. T-Mobile don't even want me to pay it off since I don't know whose account it was belong to
My main carrier is ATT. I wish I could use the rebranding method to get it sim unlock but I guess I am out of luck
As long as the balance is not paid off, you don't own the phone, T-mobile does. If and when the original owner stops paying it, you're screwed. Btw, T-mobile has a tool to check the IMEI and balance status: https://www.t-mobile.com/verifyIMEI.aspx
I think you got scammed.

In the thread for converting a T-Mobile to International. Someone used cellunlocker and said it worked, here is the post. https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=78691393&postcount=645

Unfortunately I got scammed (I'll tell you at the end why lol) as well. I knew the phone had a balanced on it because it was my cousins and he assured me he would pay it off. He was just a little tight with money right now so I went for it. I knew I couldn't get it unlocked since it had a balanced owed. There's a thread on here to sim unlock. Wasn't very difficult to do but you have to convert it to international rom first just like the previous post said. It took me less than 30 minutes to do it. After 8 months ..Welp, he didn't pay it off! The guy totally changed his number and blocked me on social media which I thought was funny. Moral of the story **** happens and never assume they will pay it off.
