If I am missing something, please tell me (or PM me) so I will update the list.
Also, I might be wrong on some of the things, so tell me so I can change the info.
I want this topic to be a compilation of issues that are common to the DHD. Please do not post asking about little issues that you might have or new issue you stumble upon.
However, if I am missing some big issues or the status of the issue has changed, post it or PM me with the link to the thread discussing the problem.
The exaggerated, sluggish auto-brightness when recording video is an issue. Watch any of the sample videos on YouTube.
HTCsense.com issues not fixed
In Denmark, there are still problems with HTCsense.com - I mess with it to check stability and MANY times I can not connect to my phone to call it, and the SMS service takes a LONG time to react. Also, I have not yet succeeded in remotely locking the phone.
in the very first batch there was (there still is on mine) a problem where i can not use wifi it turns it self off automatically after saying "Unable to scan for networks"
ill try and grab you some debug logs so you guys are more familiar with the problem.
Internal noisereduction is too strong and it makes all photos look like they are waterpaintings, it should be a quick and easy fix for HTC to take care of.
Image sharpening is too strong set at default zero setting, you have to tune it down to get acceptable shots with less sharpening artifacts in them.
Display powerconsumption is ridicously high, it's somthing HTC have to tune in software if possible.
Possibly too strong antialiasing filter contributing to render soft photos.

HTC Sense is still not working for me...the dashboard doesn't identify my phone's location, the phone does not ring, nor can it be locked or erased. Push messages from the Hub is also not working (HTC Hub via the phone allows me to browse and operate but continues to report that the server is down). The phone number I'm using and related passwords are all correct.
(I'm in Australia).
Im in denmark aswell and have no problems with htcsense.com - perfect sync and responsetime. I had a problem with the updated YouTube app, had the network error many people experienced - but got around it. But after playing a video the hd started lagging like hell.. needed reboot
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
I have one to add to the list:
Reduced or loss of GSM/3G/WiFi signal when your hand covers the SIM/MicroSD and/or battery cap.
P.S.
Let's make this list as complete as possible, so we can all point these issues to the HTC customer service.
Will keep an eye on this one!
PLEASE READ THIS: Do not post random issues...PM the OP about your issues and he in return should post a link for the solution or the topic for the issue at hand.

I suggest this for sticky!
An issue I am having is:
I will connect my phone to wifi it will connect fine and tell me I am connected.
I could then later on go into the market and try download something I will have wifi bars but the item will pause download. I then come back out to check if my wifi is still connected and it will say authenticating but doesnt change so I then turn the wifi off and back on. It connects again this time when I go back into the market to download something it works fine.
Anyone else have this issue?

This is a compilation thread so please post only issues that are recognized and common to many people (providing me with link to the specific thread).
I would suggest you search in the forum whether there is any thread with similar issue. You can try asking it in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=831804 too.
Sorry man.
I have a link that you can add below the speaker problem:

This thread contains a comparison video, comparing the N95 vs. Desire HD external speaker quality. Also, a few posts down there I explain my experiences about the comparison.
Also, THE SIM/MicroSD cover issue IS NOT RESOLVED!
Some people had covers that stuck out a bit, but could be solved by attaching the cover properly. However, some people like me have the following problem:
When the hardware got inserted into the aluminum body from the bottom-side, it wasn't inserted far enough, causing the following 3 additional symptoms:
-Gap between top of the screen and aluminum body.
-Gap between SIM/MicroSD cover and aluminum body.
-Camera misalignment - Camera is too low behind the lens.
All these symptoms are caused by the hardware installation process, as it is clear that both gaps are exactly the same (about 0.5-0.7mm). The same counts for the camera, it has the same misalignment in mm's.
To be clear: in my case, the SIM/MicroSD cover gap is caused because the hardware is not pushed far enough into the aluminum body, thus sticking outside too far out of the alu body, and making it impossible to get a proper fit simply because it's physically impossible. It also perfectly explains the gap between the top of the screen and the alu body.
The symptoms clearly all connect to the source of the problem: hardware not inserted far enough into the alu body.
I've made a video for showing the gaps, but it's not perfect. The camera misalignment is only visible if you look closely, because the shade covers the misalignment up.
P.S. Admins PLEASE sticky this thread!

I really don't know, I'm in contact with the HTC escalation team about this, but I do hope so.
I'd be interested in any reply you get because I'm noticing the gaps now I'm looking for them and know what to look for. It's irritating because I hate swapping things but if dust gets in it could cause a lot of problems.

Hey thanks for taking the time to compile the list! This is exactly what I need to check my DHD against possible hardware issues/problems, and send it back to Amazon for a replacement immediately for faulty hardware, instead of wondering "is it just me..."

no problem that's the purpose of the thread anyway. I am bored of seeing people asking for the same thing all the time too.
Not sur eif anyone else is getting this, i've got like 12 bookmarks on the bookmark widget and although it's not too bad, it is quite laggy compared to the rest of the phone when you scroll through them ?
Also i've noticed some small gaps around the phone, theres one around the screen i think where a little bit of dust has got into the cracks but nothing has gone through to the screen as of yet, i've only had it for a little over a week ! not happy with this.
Hi guys!
I'm starting a company in Brazil similar to Square Trade and Asurion in the US. So, before a user signs up to one of our protection plans, we need to remotely verify whether the device is fully functional. We already have and app that does part of that (the user takes a photo, press some buttons and does some other activities so we can verify the device).
However, there's still some terrain to cover. I was thinking about a stress test that would make the device freeze/reboot when the processor/board is faulty (like these devices do when people try to use heavy apps/games), some network tests (wifi and 3g/4g) and battery tests (Android already reports some stuff like health and temperature but I think these are not reliable). Do you guys know about some way to do that? I searched for an open source benchmark engine to no avail, so the next step was to ask here given you guys are always making awesome software/tweaks.
Any help is appreciated.
Hi,
I accidentally crushed my photo between a seat and a table on a train. (htp://imgur.com/Q1RUsEk) This is what it looks like after it was crushed.
Immediately after it was crushed, I noticed the phone network icon was empty. I turned off the phone and it has not been possible to boot back into the home screen since then.
I attached the phone to my computer and used ADB to get (htp://pastebin.com/H85Xq2U4) the last_kmsg, (htp://pastebin.com/NArZYWSZ) logcatouput, and (htp://pastebin.de/124812) bugreport output.
I'm not an expert at debugging problems with phone hardware but it looks like there is a problem with the audio subsystem in logcatoutput.
Are there any reasonable steps I can take in trying to resurrect my phone?

According to your log description it would seem that there is physical damage to the system board. The only option would be to do an inspection of the phone. This will require dis-assembly and that does need some skill, although there are several threads here on XDA that might help.
Determining the actual board damage would require some knowledge of electronics.
I would suggest that you look into replacing the unit. With the Nexus 4 you might be able to find a used unit on ebay or on the Swappa forum here on XDA.
Your sign-on doesn't indicate a location, so you may or may not be able to access/use these sites. At any rate you are looking at some pricey repairs, if such repairs are even possible.
good luck.
I come to you guys to hopefully get some information. I've been trying to find a way to charge my old ThinkPad Tablet without hoping I with the "charge the tablet long enough to be disappointed" lottery. I know originally the tablet either was designed or was just unable to charge quickly over USB, and I was OK with it, until an update or some other issue caused it to randomly cut out from charging some time after the screen goes off. It seems others have had similar issues when I've researched this in the past.
Unfortunately the tablet is very much off. No way of getting any response beyond a single vibration. No way of getting anything, without hovering over the tablet for more than 40 minutes in the hopes that I can get enough juice without damaging the USB port (which might be... it feels a little loose).
I remember some time ago I had seen people trying to reverse engineer and make some kind of power cable that attaches to the dock but I don't seem to see it anymore, and what I have found seems to have no more pictures regarding what was done or how it was obtained. And I'm willing to just shell out cash for a dock, however that's the next big issue. The dock seems to have vanished off the face of the earth. Sure, places list it once I FINALLY have located the part number, but it's out of stock. Nothing seems to work.
So my questions to you all:
Is there an updated place with the how-to to create a charger of my own? If not, is there any place I can obtain a dock that will work with the tablet? Another lenovo dock I can modify, even if I have to hack it apart (not if the dock connector is unique to the TPT or is something from other lenovo products)? Does anyone have a dock they're willing to provide to me for a reasonable
price?
...Do I have a $450ish brick of a birthday gift from a few years back?
I missed using it. It wasn't perfect but it was, at the time a great tablet for me. And I've been itching to clean it up and see what I can do to hack/modify the tablet/android/whatever... but I can't right now, while it's effectively a paperweight...
Anything? I really am hoping someone has some kind of information I can use. Somewhere I can buy stuff, or a good link with details on building/hacking together a cable/dock...
Foreigner here, please be kind =)
Hello everyone, good morning, good afternoon and good night!
Recently I have received some orders for laboratory supplies accompanied by a temperature Datalogger that performs the recording and storage of the temperature history for 11 days.
I've been researching the model and it is for single use and disposable (TempTale 4 USB - Dry Ice version by Sensitech)
I also discovered on some foreign websites that although there is software from the manufacturer to "unlock" the device for later reuse, the acquisition is not compensated due to the low value and the existence of other reusable models of the brand itself (Sensitech).
As this model came by surprise in my hands and no one has other uses for it, I decided to disassemble it and analyze its hardware. It has an Atmel controller that in my opinion could be reprogrammed to reset the programming or even unlock it for other uses.
If possible, I would like to count on the help of experts here on the forum for this. I believe I have come to the right place for this!
I leave some internal and external photos of the device for you guys
drive.google.com/drive/folders/1kON9AvEiRVNXjbIdCbus7JY8tHV3H36N?usp=sharing
It is worth mentioning that it has an interesting system that when connecting to the computer automatically generates a pdf report with all the data and graphs of the temperature record and another .ttx file that I still don't know what it is. Both are also in the drive folder for you to look at.
Hello there, your thread is kinda old by now but I am working on this myself.
Unfortunately I cannot provide you with the software for Sensitech dataloggers due to it being a bit risky, I do not want to get into legal trouble with Sensitech or getting fired for a hobby project. However even with the software you won't be able to reset one without somehow altering the chip contents. It will give you an error message that the dataloggers are meant for one time use only and cannot be reprogrammed.
The way to reset them is to manually erase the content of the ARM chip on the board, I don't know much about microchip programming but I have gotten it to work myself completely by accident. Probably by measuring each pin with an oscilloscope probe I have somehow corrupted/erased the programming on this chip. After that a red light started blinking and the word SET appeared on screen. After that I was able to reprogram them.
The TTX file is a more detailed database of the temperature logs, from which you can extract CSV files and do some sort of fancy graph displays and all that. The PDF is just for general overview.
You have a different model than the ones I get though. I have found that by shorting the Winbond chip and rebooting the device (shorting the battery connector briefly) it goes into some sort of error state. The screen will blink and every time you press Stop the actual temperature will be displayed on the screen. I do not know if your model has this too.
Is anyone still working on this? I have an interest in discussing repurposing a temp tale and would like to discuss
